Oh Maryse Trueblood I need to study you. The fact that Jace uses the phrase "has to believe," implying that this faith is forced. Maryse doesn't have any option besides trusting the Clave 100%; she can no longer admit to their flaws because she doesn't trust herself to make moral judgements anymore. She followed what she thought was right as a teenager and it led to attempting genocide, so as an adult she places her faith in the Clave to make those moral decisions for her. It's basically the same reasoning that Robert had for trusting Valentine when they were young! They both did something they saw as morally inexcusable and responded by handing over their decision making to someone else who they trusted to make the right call. This shows how a person can change their moral ideals without changing their underlying framework for understanding the world. Maryse is objectively doing better things that she used to, but she never fully unpacked what made those decisions harmful in the first place, so she's still following the Clave with the same blind faith she once gave Valentine. She learned the lesson that questioning the Clave is bad, but questioning the Clave was never the thing that made Valentine evil.

one constant curse shared between the book and show versions of armand is that he can never be at home in his body. either he is frozen at 17 not allowed to grow into the man he wants to be, or he is allowed to physically age to 27 but remains stunted mentally/emotionally. book armand wants to be seen as a man while stuck with his youthful appearance, while show armand is perceived as an adult but often wants to hide from that and regress back to the youth he never really progressed past. either way, like a boy masquerading as a man. book armand resents the fact that he never got to actually grow up and show armand resents the fact that he did.

Dick grayson?! Please i'm gonna need some hc or something else like that about how you see dick grayson in general and as a yandere because i love your vision!
Also i know you're writing for him before when darling was trying to escape Bruce and get shoot by Jason and i wanted to know if there was a difference between the way you depicted Dick (and Jason) there and on your other fic "fawn's instinct"/"tickling"?
my opinions are dick are very,,, i do NOT want people to think i hate him, but i will pounce on any opportunity to talk about how much of a freak he is. no one escapes being bruce's test-run kid, an eldest sister, and growing up in a literal circus without some weird kinks to show for it. it's simply in his dna i fear.
as a yandere, i think he'd have a pretty base-line protective instinct (more than steph or tim but not nearly as much as jason or cas) with a terminal case of 'if i'm not your favorite guy i'll die about it' disease. he's never known how to exist if he's not the sole focus of someone's attention, and unadulterated adoration is hard to come by when you're one of an ever-growing gaggle of young adults moonlighting as a masked vigilante. he's not the type to be selfish on the field, but he can be selfish with you - locked away safe n' sound, so fragile and so scared, so willing to tell him he's your favorite hero as many times as he asks so long as he promises he'll never let anyone else hurt you. he'd prefer if you were obsessed with him organically, sure, if you felt the desire to crawl under his skin just as strongly as he felt the desire to crawl under yours, but this works, too. he's the golden boy, after all, bruce's longest and best trained disciple.
nothing he could do to you could really be all that bad, right?

I've been thinking about the Foxes vs. Ravens match and Andrew starting in the first half — The rest of the line up makes sense, starting with their strongest players, but it had been well established by that point that Andrew always played the second half to help balance fatigue.
Do we think he swapped back with Renee because he expected the Ravens to try taking a bite out of Neil and Kevin? He was on the court in the first half to watch their backs, he just didn't realise the Ravens would take a swing at him first.

the subtitle industrial complex doesn't want the people to know that louis said "i had you covered" when he walked in on claudia and madeleine in s2ep6. every english subtitle track i've found for the show omits that line
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
louis' full spoken dialogue here is "i'd like a few months where you don't tear things down or fuck things up. i had you covered."

Also this is just personal feeling and shouldn’t affect safety practices, etc, I still end up masking for several hours most days and was for 10+ hours a day a couple years ago but to be soooooo real I hate masking so much 😭😭😭 absolutely objectively miserable sensory experience for me. And again my 10 million qualifiers at the beginning at this post stand but I do wish how miserable masking is for some people and finding a way to do it that’s liveable and incorporating other safety practices would be part of the conversation when we’re at the point when lbr we’re probably going to need to keep up our current COVID safety practices for the rest of our lives

1. How to setup 2FA on your accounts
As some of you may know, my friend @why-its-kai's Discord account was taken over this morning by a scammer.
The scam they used was this one, or close enough; but anyway, the exact specifics don't matter.
What matters is, it can happen to you. It can happen to anyone.
The good news is, you can learn how to protect yourself. Making some small changes can already improve your online security by leaps and bounds.
I made a series of 3 posts covering the basics:
How to setup 2FA on your accounts (you are here!)
How to spot a scam
How to set up a password manager.
Protect yourself with 2FA
Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, isn't a silver bullet -- but it exponentially increases your online safety by adding an extra step to the login process that a hacker/scammer does not have access to.
Every account that you care about (and even those you don't) should have some form of 2FA enabled.
Especially email -- should your email become compromised, this can become a catastrophe.
(For websites that don't support 2FA, use a burner email!)
What 2FA should I use?
2FA can take many forms, from the highly convenient (SMS, email) to the highly secure (security keys), but one thing is certain:
Any form of 2FA is better than nothing.
The simplest forms of 2FA are phone number or email. While these are very easy to use, they are unfortunately not very secure.
Still, I repeat: despite their flaws, these forms of 2FA are absolutely, 100% better than not having any 2FA at all.
On the other end of the spectrum, security keys (like for example a Yubikey) are extremely secure, but they cost money and are a bit of a hassle at time. I use them, but for most people, it's overkill.
What you want is an authenticator app.
Important
A note, before we go on…
If you enable multiple forms of 2FA, how secure your account is will depend on your weakest link.
For example, if you enable SMS authentication AND register a security key, your account will only be as safe as the SMS authentication. The security key is essentially useless.
In other words, the least secure form of 2FA you add determines the overall security of your account.
Sometimes, less is more!
Authenticator Apps
First, choose a free, reputable authenticator. Google Authenticator is a good choice. So are Aegis Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
For simplicity, we'll go with Google Authenticator; the process is rather similar for most authenticators.
First, download the app from your app store and install it on your phone.
Enrolling Gmail into GA
Securing your email should be your number 1 priority, so let's enroll a Google account to Google Authenticator.
Tumblr media
Let's enable two-step verification first.
Tumblr media
Phone number is better than nothing, but not very safe (SMS verification can be spoofed), so let's click on "Add authenticator app".
Tumblr media
Click on "Set up authenticator". Google will generate a QR-code.
Next, go back to your phone and click on the little multicolored cross. It will bring up a menu; click on "scan a QR code".
Tumblr media
Go ahead and scan the QR code.
Congratulations, you have enrolled your Google account!
Tumblr media
Now, whenever you are asked for a 2FA code, just open the app and copy/paste it.
Note: the codes are stored locally on your phone.
Enabling 2FA on Discord
The process is fairly similar. Go to Settings > My Account:
Tumblr media
Click on "Enable Authenticator App". You will be prompted for your password. Enter it.
Tumblr media
Download Google Authenticator if you haven't already. Scan the QR code as described above.
Tumblr media
Do take the time to download your backup codes as well!
As explained above, I personally do not recommend setting up SMS authentication here, since authenticator apps are supported, as this weakens the overall security of your account for little benefit.
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

To be fair to Kaos it’s very explicit about how within the world of the show, the mythology we know irl varies in truthfulness. In universe the myths are stories the gods spin in order to keep mortals worshipping them, and fueling their power. It’s not really meant to be an actual adaptation of myth, so yes Hera cheats despite supposedly being the goddess of marriage, she’s a hypocrite and that’s the point. Actual mythological Hera is essentially her pr personality. I think if you go in accepting that it’s much easier to stomach. But I know it’s not for everyone lol, took me a while to get there myself and the only reason I kept watching past like episode two was cause I was watching with other people
Yeah, that's all fair. I don't think (or really, know) if the show itself is actually good or bad, I just know that the choices they made that I have seen are not to my liking.
That said, when I saw all the spoilers for X Men Dark Phoenix I was really annoyed. But by the time I finally saw the film I was prepared for and accepted the bits I disliked, so it ended up being one of my favourite of the X Men films. So maybe this will be the same thing and when I do watch it, I'll be prepared for the bits I disliked and will actually end up liking the show as a whole! (I'm already kind of over the final episode twist - though I will be honest, even with your sound explanation, I still don't like Hera being a cheater. Just feels like they could have shown her as a hypocrite in other ways than using the one thing Zeus always did to hurt her most of all.)
