💛 YELLOW HEART — how many languages does your oc speak? what language(s) are they learning, if any?

Persimmon speaks the aliens native language (…one of them? Unspecified..) and in tmm all the aliens speak Japanese and it’s never clarified if they actually know it or if it’s anime logic like. Magic translators or tech or something 😭 I do not think she’d want to put in effort to learn more than necessary if I’m being real but she also has a desire to fit in so she’d keep up with slang at the very least. She don’t know honorifics but she knows cringe.

🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?

She’s a salty/savory/spicy enjoyer. But Mild spicy, I think she’d be one of those ppl who tries to eat stuff that’s spicier than she can handle to look cool and starts sniffling and tearing up and has to go fix her makeup 😔 but she loves hot chip. Or salty snacks. Convenient store foods, she likes stuff that’s fast and easy. She helps in the kitchen at the cafe but she really doesn’t enjoy cooking or how long it takes to make/eat a proper meal. Tbh she’d never eat veggies if no one else ever made her meals… persimmon gets scurvy and dies au… so sad……

Not to say she doesn’t like sweets, she’ll kinda just eat anything, but as far as preferences go, she’s not got an insane sweet tooth like Mira.

Ohh, I can at least answer for career even if I can’t go into much details about where she’s actually going… what she wants at this moment in the story- she was justttt starting her tech internship before aliens invaded her planet and she was forced to flee. She’s not passionate about tech, really, despite being good at it- she just wanted a job that would let her travel so it was something that seemed useful to that end. She doesn’t care much for the whole working at a cafe/being a magical girl thing either, but she wants to help earth not get totally wrecked by her people, yknow? She’s trying to be a Good Person. But when this is all over…she’s not at a point where she plans things long term anymore. she thinks things are too unpredictable at this point to really know what will happen when the vague goal of ‘stop queen and those bug aliens’ is accomplished. The attack made her afraid to plan things long term. She has always had an interest in fashion, but in her mind that is so not useful to the current situation, and wasn’t for her goals before, so she’s not imagining that being a long term career. Her only current goal is to help team earth and her fellow mew mews however she can. And not to barf every time she has to fly or teleport. That would be Really Good.

hii idk if you're active here anymore but i just wnated to say i love your tokyo mew mew fics a lot!! like seriously they're some of the cutest things ive ever read.. ive always loved tmm and the hyperfix is back lol; quiche is one of my favorite characters of all times and i just really adore the way you write him. i think ive reread The Alien And The Cat and A New Hue about a dozen times in the past few days alone.

Oh, I am definitely active!! more so on my main (@sanchoyo ) and art account (@sanchoyoscribbles ) than this one, I really only post on this blog whenever I've written something new and want to share it or am answering asks, but I do check this one too :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to send this, I'm really glad if my fics could make you happy! ;o; I think quiche is a very interesting character (and, hot take but I disagree with so much of the fandom's interpretations of him, lol, the canon version is a lot more fun than the fanon version. not that mine is perfect, but I'm happy to hear you like my take on him!! Because characterization can be such a fickle thing and finding authors you gel with is always a delight)

I would love to write more tmm at some point; its kind of wild I haven't considering its my longest running fandom. Lately I haven't written any fics because I've been um. busy with my. tokyo mew mew fancomic instead lol?? at any given time my brain is ON mew mew mode. I will for sure return to writing little things for it on ao3. My dream is a big multi-chapter tmm AU fic, but that's going to take A While to conceptualize more and set aside time for ^^;

Hello it's been a while! But I've been craving some Tokyo Mew Mew headcanons if you're up for it. Upon rewatching Tokyo Mew Mew again. I was curious if you could assign Ryou, Keiichiro, and Aoyama a dessert what would they be? Since Kisshu is a quiche, Pai is clearly Pie, and Taruto is a tart.

Personally I think would a cake like red velvet, Ryou would be some type of vanilla. But Aoyama seems hard since I'm trying to think of something that pairs well with strawberries

I'M ALWAYS UP FOR IT!!! 🥺 This is funny timing because my friend @spectralreplica and I were chatting about it like 2 weeks ago! (or something kind of related, lol)

I wanted to share her concepts because I really liked them: ryou=white chocolate or white sauce/ alfredo (afredo is peak and nothing I say can beat it. It makes me laugh the same way retatsu being lettuce and not kiwi or melon makes me laugh. alfrydou. real to me)

tasuku= dark chocolate or blackberry

keiichiro= cake

masaya= blueberry

these are all really good, esp because she took the colors from their last names into account!! If I had to choose alternatives from her proposals for them...

(Didn't know if you wanted specifically desserts/pastries to go with the aliens (I think that's more of an alien thing, since Madeleine is a pastry as well!) or for me to also toss in some general foods, so here's a few varied options I think would be really fun!)

Ryou= lemon, banana, mascarpone, cheesecake, custard, cream puffs, sugar cookie, lemon cake, or sugar/salt (salt added because it makes me laugh, but I tried to stick with light/yellowish foods. which is why I gave him so many more than the others, there are So Many Options.)

Keiichiro= hot chocolate, dulce de leche, truffles, biscotti, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon, walnut, almonds (I wanted 'fancy' feeling ones that also felt...cozy...does this make sense...)

Tasuku= Tiramisu, fudge, carrot cake, espresso or coffee cake/chocolate/truffles, (I chose a lot of coffee based ones because he's energetic, and the carrot one to match berry!)

Masaya= blueberry, mousse, (blueberry) torte (could also pair well with strawberries), sorbet (can be blueberry, I also just like that its both sweet and cold, feels fitting thematically)

BUT! if you wanted to make them matchy-ish in a way that's distinct from the alien's pastry theme, you could do themes like all of them be spices or chocolates like:

ryou = salt or cardamom, tasuku= cloves, keiichiro= cinnamon or nutmeg, masaya= pepper or poppy

or for chocolates:

ryou= white or coconut chocolate, keiichiro= milk chocolate, masaya= hazelnut or caramel chocolate, tasuku= dark or espresso chocolate

(this is just my brain being like 'make everything themed' tho, don't know how well these would make the girl's or keep it strictly pastries if that's ur vibe lol, I just wanted to mention a lot of different options! bold are my personal favs <3 I'd love to hear other people's as well! I really love your red velvet for keiichiro, too ^_^)

YAAY HIII u didnt specify which oc so I'm just going to default to Ms Main Character Mira ✨ (tho if u intended for me to answer for a specific character lmk!!) long so, under the cut

What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

oh, this is kind of a silly story.

I made mira (and the concept of tm2) when I was browsing deviantart (yes..this was when it was poppin with great navigation/communities and not basically dead. so 2014..ish...), ff.net, and other fanish sites and realized. wow hey there's like...not a ton of masaya/ichigo fankids. its all kishigo, and when it is masago kids, they tend to follow...certain tropes... not that this is a bad thing (I <3 tropes), but I was like. ok how can I make this like. different. I wanted to set up certain expectations to subvert them!! This is still kind of true. I didn't make her in a vacuum, I made persi and aqua at the same time because a lot of what I was seeing for next gen kids was like: 'ok, here's the kids of the main 5 girls!! they form a team with their mom's colors, and have similar roles and personalities!!' and I was thinking. like. wouldn't it be fun if that wasn't the case?? what if we threw in a bunch of different species. a new enemy. new roles for old characters. what if they are all gay

I also can't see all 5 of the og mews wanting kids or all of those kids being perfectly around the same age, and no one in the fandom seems to want to make lovekids with weirder or rarepair ships which annoys me but thats besides the point

another trope I saw a lot of was the fankids being surprised at the mew mew stuff implying ichigo/masaya wouldnt tell them or they wouldnt find out and I was like. well what if the kid knew all along and it shaped their worldview? what if unlike a lot of the tmm fan stories, she isn't compatible with the iromote cat dna- but still wanted to be like her mom? like, I deny her the regular tropes but she still wants them and I think thats really fun to play with.

there's a lot of stuff thats left unanswered in tmm or I thought 'this would be really fun to play with more in a spinoff' just in general, so that thought had me thinking about ways I could shape her as a character :3 design-wise the original thought was red and blue because I liked the colors of a slush puppy cutout I stole from a gas station and it was on my wall when I was drawing her. I wish I was kidding. listen the type of person I was at 17 is not the same as I am now!!! forbidden evil lore. uhh. symbolically its fun too because ichigo=red masaya=blue, but that was a secondary thought. not actually Me Being Clever when I was making her jksfdkjashdf

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

ok the thing with tmm characters is the aliens are all named after pastries and the mews are all foods and so like. I learned about miracle berries https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synsepalum_dulcificum and i was like oh man i NEED to make a mew with that. at the time I didnt see any other mews with that fruit but ive seen a few since making her!! very fun, conceptually, to have a character named after a fruit that can make bitter/sour things sweet. like. hmm symbolism :-) heheh. (also, not all of my tmm/tm2 ocs are named in accordance to this naming scheme which SEEMS like an oversight but I promise its not and will make sense later >:'))

theres also another really funny thing- that fruit is in the Sapotaceae family whiiiich. was not intentional but thats the silliest coincidence. her and sapote are not blood related but in my heart they are homies because of this :)

in universe ichigo and masaya want kids but are content to adopt, because he was adopted and I think it'd mean a lot to him- (esp to be a better parent than his adopted parents were. who said that) and also because...with him being an 'artificial' human + her mew stuff theyre convinced they CANT have biological kids anyway. so mira was a surprise. in the miDDLE OF THE ADOPTION PROCESS THEY REALIZE SHES PREGNANT. so they named her mira, standing for miracle because thats much nicer than accident or surprise LMAO. however there's also some other fun interpretations, like mirror. I don't have a set kanji for her name but maybe I should. but there's so many good versions I might actually never set a 'canon' one lol

8. What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

mira's original personality was WAY different. it's changed a lot over the years! she was originally a very serious and stubborn girl, who was quiet and blunt and had anger issues- which was honestly not so fun for me to write (not saying serious characters aren't fun, and they're def refreshing sometimes in the mg genre!! but...it didn't suit the story, imo, to have her be one of the main characters like that. at least not to start off. so some years ago I did a total overhaul- so I'm not sure the original origin of her personality matters so much now?)

now she's more prone to dramatics, still very stubborn (donkey DNA makes that worse, but its always been a Core Trait) and has a selfish and jealous streak despite trying very hard to be the Typical Sweet and Bubbly magical girl who helps people and fights for good. she's not a bad person. she is...messy. she tries not to be. but she wants things SO strongly. shes always been more booksmart than common-sense smart. to be a magical girl who saves people, or fights monsters, people have to be in danger first, or monsters have to be a problem...you can't put out a fire if there isn't one burning, ykwim? she's more interested in being a story people tell, a really iconic magical girl a lot of people know and admire than..um. a Person? 😳

she has a bad habit of demanding the same of people around her and reducing them to how she wants them to be. and baby not everyone is going to fall in line with the tropes you're trying to assign them... its fun! also love to play with the idea that no matter how selfish a motivation is, if you're putting good into the world and helping people just to feel a certain way, like...that's still overall a Positive thing to do.

the origin of her current personality...over the years I've considered what I want the themes of the story to be and what kind of main character would best serve that kind of narrative. I thought having a character who is aware of the typical magical girl tropes and strives towards them actively would be really, really interesting. it can come off as funny- and it is, at times, I love to play it up for jokes! but she's truly a style over real substance girl. if shes presenting in her ideal way no one needs to know whats really going on in her brain! and if they aren't perceiving her the way she wants shes going to freak out (this is why she considers masayume a problemmmm for her up until she believes they're on the same page, girl inside her brain Knowing her Deeper thoughts is kind of her worst nightmare lol :))

Hiiiiii, it is I again!! I just finished Cold Love and gosh!

The ending was just so nice, mostly when I thought SHIGGY WAS DYING FOR A MOMENT- 😭 Then they were just being super sweet at the beach and I ngl cried a little, they all deserved that happiness <3 I also still wanna cry (In a good way tho) BECAUSE I FINISHED THE WHOLE THING I wanna write a little note to myself, next to my bed, erase my memories about these 2 fics, then wake up next morning, read the note and reread the whole thing with as much joy as the first time! I'm gonna reread them FOR SURE, but not now as they're still fresh in my brain :3

And you know, Cold Love has opened my mind more than it already was I mean I already love heroes and villains, but you've put a lot more details that made me go: "Shit, I didn't think it was THAT much"

The way you wrote how the hero commission treats heroes made me think of what my parents always tell me about Actors and Models. "Their lives/bodies don't belong to them, it belongs to the company they work for" That sentence hit me even more when the chapters were Hawks centered. Poor guy, he was a literal lab rat. The worst is that he ISN'T THE ONLY ONE GOING THROUGH THAT

Villains, I already sympathized with a lot, in other medias and MHA too But your fic made me realize that, when they do those crimes, it's for them but mostly for OTHERS as well!! They're like heroes, in a way, because they want to make society BETTER. They do this because they know how it feels to be rejected, hated and they want to change it so NO ONE ELSE has to go through this. Also, we often see them not caring about dying if they do achieve their goal, because they know next gens will have better lives than they ever had. WHICH I THINK IS HELLA SAD BUT SO NICE OF THEM???

Though I DON'T agree with them taking lives of course, but I don't hate them anyways because, when they've been rejected by everyone and everything, how else are they supposed to get attention? Very unfortunately, crimes is often their answer…

I think, if I was in MHA, I'd also opt for the Vigilante route. Fuck the hero commission lmao

I really enjoy bnha fics where the writers closely examine the society and its problems because its SO interesting (and im kind of sad the way it went in canon, I wanted a lot more and found the school setting kind of restricting for it in general, but we'll always have fics haha) i'm glad you enjoyed me doing that just a little bit! (maybe it was kind of weird to include in a romance SI series, but also it would've felt like a huge disservice in my opinion because ALL of the villains stories are influenced by the society they live in and how heroes are treated...)

ok confession I haven’t watched sailor moon since I was a kid. I’m pretty sure I was a very basic kid and loved the Girl Herself. Like her cultural impact cannot be understated…non anime fans know her as Thee Magical Girl and that’s their entire frame for the genre usually. She’s so iconic and recognizable she is a BRAND she is everything (I don’t mean this ironically I’m being so serious her influence and the history of sailor moon and fashion is so COOL to me)

But I’m sure my answer would change if I actually watched the dang show or read the manga in full… (is the reboot good? Not opposed to that either but the original anime’s style is sooo 💞💕❣️ and some kinda magic has been lost style wise imo)

However design wise if I had to pick from the main scouts it’s Neptune. She is sooo pretty 🥺

ole anon here again !!! all of your points about why you weren't into it are absolutely valid, it was hard for me to get into it at the start too !! its. very much a shounen queerbait from my perspective at least, but unfortunately i am the demographic for that (⁠ ⁠；⁠∀⁠；⁠) thank you for sharing your thoughts !

in regards to you being That tmm writer for me— even with 3 fics, you have some of my favorite characterizations ever and you seem to just intrinsically understand who the characters are in a very refreshing way. genuinely whenever i miss the tokyo mew mew cast i usually end up rereading all your fics ,, i adore Tokyo Miracle, too ! it's so wonderfully made. and every time, no matter what i read, i usually always end up giggling and kicking my feet. you're by far one of my favorite authors just because of the passion i can see in your works alone (⁠〃ﾟ⁠3ﾟ⁠〃⁠) . im always interested in seeing your thoughts on literally anything tokyo mew mew !!

I also feel like my work tends to fill a few niches that I don't think would do well- e.i: crackships, and weird meta about how I think the science would go weird and trying to extrapolate on very specific lore that was not mentioned much in the series but I want more info on... whereas I think a lot of ppl looking for tmm fics/fan content like? fluff? cute content of the girls hanging out? (also love that) or common ships? (not to say I don't enjoy some of the more canon ones like mintkuro or masago etc but I know a lot of ppl are going to ao3 for. kishigo. not my wheelhouse but I hope they find good ones and have fun etc) so a lot of my ideas just stay as text posts on here lol (but I have had some banger au ideas as text posts. anyone who sees them is free to take them and run 🫡)

I was wondering— have you read Tokyo Mew Mew Olé? I've been bringing it all day and thinking about it in canon continuity made me think of 'The cat's out of the (to-go) bag!' since i really loved the timeline you made for it + hime azumi... sorry if this is like, completely random you're just like The tmm writer for me lolol and i just had to check if you'd read it or not and if you had any thoughts ,,

you saying I’m THAT tmm writer when I literally only have 3 tmm fics posted (…unless we could Tokyo miracle as a fanfic adjacent thing?? Fan comic?? 😭) makes me really happy… just wanted to start by saying thanks for that! I am generally thinking about tmm 90% of the time and have been consistently. For years. its my longest and most favorite series. 😳 so I do have thoughts on a lot of stuff but… not a lot to say about ole 💀

IMPORTANT preface: I just want to say that I wouldn’t post hater content unless specifically asked abt something. I have no problem with other ppl enjoying it either But ☝️ I don’t really enjoy all boy magical girl series/teams, personally. I tried to read it, but ultimately I didn’t finish reading it.

If you just wanted to know if I like it or not you can just stop reading now, I’m about to get ramble-y lol. short answer to your question is I dropped it because I couldn't get into it. and the Long answer...

I just don’t see the point in rebooting an all girl series in one of the very few female-lead genres and making all boys in that position? Like … it does not interest me. I did try to read it but it couldn’t hold my interest. It seemed like the same plot, same end villain twist, same scientist makes animal eared team just rehashed with not a lot new to say?? If your making a spin off I want it to feel like there’s a Reason for it or something new Besides Omg All Boys??? (weirdly sexualized high schooler boys?? NOT my cup of tea.)

And don’t get me wrong- I think the potential is there! it could be interesting or have something cool to say abt being boys in a girl dominated field/genre, or an interesting commentary about gender in general, like there are a few comics I've seen about transmen being magical boys!

…but aside from a few rare gems like that, these type of series never seem interested in doing anything like that… I don’t mind magical girl teams with a mix of genders on them tho!! I think it can create a really interesting dynamic! (I also am aware of the kiss between two of the boys? unsure if that ever went anywhere...)

But A lot of the boy only ones feel like ‘hah muscled men in frills/dresses isn’t that funny!’ Jokes which do rub me the wrong way. So I have to give ole points for seemingly not doing that? As far as I know? Bare minimum cleared?? It still kind of gives BL/yaoi bait/reverse harem energy with them being dressed like that which I DONT enjoy 😭

I wouldn’t be such a hater if it didn’t have the tmm name stapled to it either, but as far as I’m aware it’s a boy reboot unrelated to the original tmm characters so?? Why not call it it’s own thing instead of riding tmm’s coat tails? It would’ve been super easy to switch just a few things… but no, that IP name is the reason so many ppl even know about it 😑)

Also a BIG issue for me, just as far as my first impression went: The original tmm had Such cohesive outfits, and was iconic for those, and like, one of my issues with ole is they don’t look like a team?? There are some…interesting or cute aspects of their fits but overall they don’t look like a unit at all. Or that they should be associated with tmm!! The aliens also looked less alien than the tmm aliens that already had barely any design variation from regular humans, so... L character design 😑

the only ones that even vaguely looked like they belong in the mahou shoujo genre and not a BL/shounen ai were the red one and the blue one but even then, they don’t look like they’re even from the same series! (I think they have the outfits with the most potential by far tho) If the designs hadn’t been so bad I might’ve finished it… but first and foremost I am a fashion fan and magical ppl of any gender NEED the fits. It’s an important element to me.

I can’t say anything about the characters bc I don’t remember literally any of them aside from the main girl anzu, thinking I’d wanna put her in the original tmm to be the orange mew we never got 💔 she would've been so cuteee in another berry/la mode-esque reboot...

All of that hatering to say idc if other ppl enjoyed it! I have friends who loved it! (one of my besties is the one who translated it lol!!) It kinda just boils down to me being picky and my particular tastes not being met haha I’m so sorry if this is a mega disappointing answer esp after you sounded like you wanted to hear me talk abt it after enjoying my writing oh no 😭 I just think there’s a LOT more interesting ways to do all boy tmm team if you’re going to that I could have enjoyed but the execution of this one wasn’t for me! 🫣 glad if it was for others and they liked it tho!!
