sun hasn’t even risen yet and I’m feeling so emotional about how Dan is living proof that growth takes time but is so worth it and sometimes you don’t work through the hard stuff until you’re well into adulthood bc just getting by took enough energy and you simply didnt have the tools yet and we now know that things got so dark for him and im sure the darkness will come again bc that’s how these things go but now he’s smiling with his crows feet and laugh lines and silly clothes bc now he can love his body enough to put it in silly outfits before going out into the world and he’s goofy and playful and in love and idk guys life can be so defeating and it sure was for him at times but here he is this gleaming imperfect beautiful example of work and growth and acceptance and self love

Sorry for the delay anon! It’s been a day. That’s not a dumb question at all. I’ve always had this idea/belief that they would pick specific people to sing certain verses/lyrics. In IICF, Liam and Niall sing the part of each verse that repeats. Meaning H/L sing the “unique” parts of the song. I always figured Harry did that on purpose, to make those unique parts stand out more, so to speak.

honestly I'd offer to plait it for him, sure it might look oddly like they're cosplaying marika but ong would a plait not look so pretty on him - and having him turn to putty as you gently play with his hair????? carding your fingers through it while it's silky smooth from all the brushing, perhaps even having washed it for them too - oh would they even fall asleep leaning into your touch because he simply feels so safe with you?

a deeper look into his eyes

an initial examination reveals irises verdant in color, like an emerald polished to clarity and as vibrant as the lush greenery of the sacred tree. but sometimes it might not be quite the pigment you remember seeing it last. it still looks like that same verdant emerald but appears a shade or two darker or lighter. if you watch them as he enters a dark area they seem to get brighter. extremely rare instances might have you catch his irises as a much too saturated green and distinctly inhuman. the true unaltered eye color resembles an intense electric green. however, as a demon he suffers from light sensitivity ( especially in harsh, bright settings ) so a negligible smidgen of darkness is always subconsciously used to compensate and shield his eyes, adjusting as needed depending on the lighting. he also keeps it close to emerald due to it being the iris color his mother had.

like many nocturnal predators with eyes designed for low-light levels, his pupils are naturally contracted to a vertical slit, allowing for much better control over the muscle expansion to adjust how much light his eyes absorb and optimize his depth perception. he has some degree of voluntary control over these eye muscles. over time, the longer he spent outside of the demon realm, they have gradually adapted to brighter light settings and the diurnal cycle people tend to operate on. as a result, during daytime hours his pupils dilate to an semi-circular shape that gives a broader, even focus to his entire field of view to better see detail in the world around him. even then, he shrouds the edges of his pupils with darkness to make them appear more circular to better appear like an ordinary human. around people who are in the know that he's a demon, he may relax his eyes enough to the point his slit pupils are clearly visible.

when he is actively using and maintaining his darkness it floods his eyes and shades them completely, leaving them pitch black. it’s eerie staring directly into those eyes, an abyss darker than night, a surface unable to reflect light at all. it’s no different than looking into a black hole and seeing nothing. the only exception are moments when it gains the illusion of having a vague red tint as a side effect of usage of his demonic powers. it's unnerving and often outright creepy, especially with his tendency to refrain from emoting. in these instances, the eyes are essentially removed from his non-verbal communication and one needs to rely on the rest of his face or body to determine expressed emotions and body / mental states, which may prove difficult given how reliant many are on the eyes for that task.

tiny dark flecks can be spotted on the surface of the iris, ringed around the pupil. these iris freckles are not static, seeming to come and go. the placement of the faded spots and rings actually form the shape of the ethereal spiral — the symbol of the demons — much like how the glowing triskelion can be seen in the eyes of a goddess clan member, but it’s not as glaringly obvious. their visibility is dependant on the amount of darkness covering his eyes at the moment. it can be most easily observed when seen against his natural eye color.

his eyes are all the more piercing when he’s staring but the sensation is distinctly one of looking through rather at you as he forgoes your physical form entirely to perceive your soul. it’s not an in depth search that peels back all the layers of the soul, but rather a cursory skim across the rippling surface of its spectrum, not too dissimilar to the mechanic of a status check. even that much is revealing about a person. for most at a glance he can generally get a rough grasp about a person’s character in the moment and pick up on tells for misalignments that demons use to determine if that person is lying. this type of insight feeds into the unnerving air of knowing meliodas has around him at times.

for a long time, his father could observe the world through meliodas’ eyes and see what he sees. it’s an immensely discomforting pressure at the back of his eyes whenever it triggered, but like everything you’re exposed to over a long period of time, it became normal. once he got his commandment, the king stopped watching through meliodas ( he didn’t, not that meliodas was aware, just in a new subtle way ) but demons for a long time were careful about what they said in front of their prince.

If that is the case who do you think ends up living in the ruins? I know what probably happened with gaster but if he chooses to leave with the boys would he live In the ruins as an escape?

I don't really know much about fanon-agreed-upon Fellplates tbqh, but when it came up in conversation, we talked about how since they're both on the same page vis a vis killing humans, they probably would still be together haha - or that Toriel still lives in the Ruins and only comes out to beat up Gaster lol

Personally I like her being in the castle with Asgore, murder power couple <3 And she'd have very direct access to bully Gaster! I see this as an absolute win

I'm not sure, Gaster escaping with the boys isn't something I'd considered before :0 I think the Ghosts definitely still hang around the Ruins, so I don't know how dangerous it would be for them to live there if they were hostile. There's also something? weird? about Fell!Mercyplates that I can't quite put my finger on haha
