"Healing is a trait that many consider noble. A skill that is pure." Aswini said calmly. "But you forgot how I heal."

"You surely can't heal someone to death!" The scholar exclaimed loudly.

"Tell me, sir, how do I heal? What does my technique consist of?" The young woman said, not batting an eye.

"You...you use energy, correct? You call it life-force. You run it throught the patient's body, steadily forcing their injuries or illness-damaged areas to heal." The scholar answered, attempting to sound confident.

"There are two ways how could I kill a person with this. May I ask for two plants, please? I'll give you a demonstration." Aswini said with a smile.

"May it be so, bring her two identical plants!"

And so two plants were put in front of her.

"First one is easy to guess. As much as I can manipulate the life-force in the patient and in me to heal them...." She moved her hands in a well practised position. "...I can take it out as much easy as I can give it."

The first flower withered and crumbled, only the scelet of its leaves and other hard parts remaining.

"Second one is more surprising: too much life-force can kill. It messes up with electrical and other impulses in the body and speeds up the metabolism to an unbearable point. That's why gods often kill when they try to help - they override the systems of the patient."

The second flower shined after she moved her hands, withering as much as the first one.

"Now, I healed it to death."

The scholars went pale. She bowed and left.

In a world of magic and dragons, everyone thought the healers needed to be protected. No offensive magic to speak of how could they protect them selfs? That’s what everyone thought. Until you proved you can actualy heal someone to death…

Why did Bella regain her weight/curves after becoming a vampire? Wasn't she supposed to stay sceletal after pregnancy? Alice is "thin to the extreme" - quote - after hospital, and she supposedly didn't lose half of her weight in a month or so. Shouldn't Bella be that way too?

You would think so.  

Alice is “thin in the extreme” after being malnourished in the asylum.  Esme is “rounded and soft, less angular” than Alice and Rosalie because she was turned after having a baby. But Bella has a “rocking body” “like a supermodel” for . .. some reason?

The most common explanation I see is that the venom “fixed” anything that had to do with the pregnancy including Bella’s dangerous weight loss, but I personally don’t think that makes much sense. The venom isn’t a sentient creature that KNOWS things. How would it know that Bella’s emaciated frame was due to supernatural pregnancy but Alice’s was from mistreatment as a human? Why would it fix one and not the other? I get the venom fixing *injuries* like the incision in Bella’s stomach, broken ribs from Renesmee’s movements, etc. That makes sense! But why would it change her body in a way it didn’t change Alice or Esme’s? It didn’t erase the evidence of Esme’s pregnancy, nor did it restore Alice to a healthier weight. 

I also just don’t think it makes sense that the venom would “know” what an “ideal” body type would look like since a) there’s no such thing and b) ideals are different throughout history and in different cultures.

Despite elves being naturally lean and in all accounts of smaller build than humans, do not let their appearance fool you into thinking they are weak. Their muscle fibers are much denser than human ones and their muscle cells include much more mitochondria than human sceletal muscle cells. This means that although lesser in volume, elven muscles are equally strong to human ones. Their muscle composition along with their stronger tendons and much more flexible joints, makes elves formiddable opponents despite their small build.

The only drawback is that since elves lack the kind of muscle fibers that can grow larger with excercise, it is very hard for them to either build muscle mass or to become much stronger than they already are no matter how much they practice. They either can lift something right away, or they will never be able to. If bodybuilding is a thing in Thedas you will likely never see an elven contestant. 

Also, if for some reason you get stranded along with an elf and there is no food source in sight, you will not be able to eat them, because their flesh has the texture of rubber and you won’t be able to chew through it. They, on the other hand have been evolved to be apex predators and they have, in fact, been hunting down humans for ages, so do what you will with this piece of info.

Raw and bare looking little figures partly showing their inner sceletal structure appear lively and appealing. The combination of dead animal’s bones and kid’s play dough is proposing a new evolution of creature. The bones once supporting a living animal are referring to a future past. Recasted and mutated, coated with a material that is highly transformable and adaptable these creatures seem to have accomodated with the challenges of a new future. Using children’s plasticine to cast the form of his „Next Generation“ Wehinger brings together two materials that usually never get into contact. „Next Generation“ reminds us of the momentariness of the being and that one’s remains are the basis for the development of another.

I'd say it would take a lot of space magic to make a human/turian hybrid happen. Or elaborated research in genetics and someone willing to spend days and nights rearranging the gene sequences of the parents until a viable hybrid embryo is created. There will have to be a lot of factors to consider. Like which species the carrying mother will be. If she is human it would make more sense to have the baby have red iron based blood in order to facilitate the oxygen and nutrient exchange between mother and child and vise versa if the mother is turian.

In terms of other species as biological parents of a hybrid kid I would say quarians could make excellent canditates. They are mammals, like humans, and though dextro-amino based like turians, have red blood, which means it most likely iron based as well. Digestion would also be similiar since they are also omnivores.

On a side note, Batarians may also have suitable canditates but there isn't enough information about their biology. But they also appear mammalic and they have the same sceletal structure, which may also facilitate matters.

Does anyone have any theories as to which Mass Effect species are able to successfully breed outside of their species? We know the asari have evolved to reproduce this way, but could the others do so through more traditional means?

Like, turians and humans are both viviparous, but would they be too different genetically to produce offspring? Krogan and turians seem to be more similar in biology, but krogan are oviviparous.

Another factor to consider is the advanced science in the series. Would that help with any attempts at cross species reproduction?
