Ezra: I gotta go! I gotta find Penny!
Tammy: let her know we’re on her side!
Ezra: No. She’ll consider this a personal slander. I’ve gotta stop a homicide!
Tammy: Oh!

I am here to be cringey and nostalgic...
Here is an entire breakdown of the QSMP as Hamilton characters (and key song that relate to plot moments) Blame my ADHD and my college's power outage that made me not have a single class today... and @thebeesforeleg's encouragement!
Tumblr media
SONGS BELOW THE LINE <3
Songs outside of just the names list:
Schuyler Sisters - OG Theory Bros
Right Hand Man - Cellbit and Forever creating Ordo Theoritas
Meet Me Inside - Tubbo and Cucurucho
Guns and Ships - AMERICA’S FAVORITE FIGHTING FRENCHMAN… Etoiles and THE RIGHT HAND MAN… BadBoyHalo
History Has Its Eyes on You - BadBoyHalo (opening reminds me of his shared “war stories” with Cellbit)
Dear Theodosia - We all know that is Wilbur and Tallulah's song, but there is a whole second part and I feel like that belongs equally to Forever and Richas / Bad and Dapper
Non-Stop - Dapper & Pomme (as Hamilton) and Chayanne (as Burr)(Burr is this song is tired older brother who’s sick of their overachieving younger siblings)
What’d I Miss? - Wilbur the moment he comes back
Cabinet Battles - feel like the election debates or Ordem meetings
Take a Break - Bad (Hamilton), Baghera (Eliza), Pomme (Phillip), Foolish? (Angelica)
Say No to This - Foolish… (I AM JOKING! or am i?)
The Room Where It Happens - Foolish (for real this time) after being relieved from the Ordem
Schuyler Defeat - can I make a third one in a row Foolish? Cause I just picture this:
Richas: Look! Grandpa's in the paper! ‘Builder Foolish Gamers loses presidential life to young upstart Pomme’ Grandpa just lost his seat in the presidential election. Pac: Sometimes that's how it goes  Richas: Daddy's gonna find out any minute Mike: I'm sure he already knows Cellbit [in the distance]: ATTA GIRL
Washington on Your Side - Foolish & Baghera singing about Jaiden
One Last Time - Baghera stepping out the Presidential Race
We Know - Tubbo, Forever, Phil to Bad about Ron Lemons… and him lying saying he’s planning on kidnapping Foolish… “Alexander, rumors only grow…”
Hurricane - Pac (the cure vibes)
The Reynolds Pamphlet - this feels like the Misclick Duo’s divorce trial
Angelica saying “I’m not here for you!” is so Jaiden saying “This is about justice.”
Burn/First Burn - Forever to Bad
“Don’t take another step in my direction.” “You can stand over there if you want. I don’t know who you are. I have so much to learn.” “And you are paranoid in every paragraph for how they will perceive you!”  “And when the time comes, explain to the children the pain and embarrassment you put their mother through. When will you learn that they are your legacy, we are your legacy!”
Congratulations - Baghera (I know this had to have be what was happening in her head when she met Ron)
“I begged you to take a break, you refused to.” “You’ve redefined your legacy, congratulations”  If she ends up switching sides bc Bad won’t give up Ron, “I’m not here for you… I know my brother like I know my own mind, you will never find anyone as trusting or as kind.””I love my brother more than anything in this life, I will choose his happiness over mine every time. Forever, is the best thing in our lives.”
It’s Quiet Uptown - Egg Disappearance and/or Bobby’s Death
The Election of 1800 - i feel like i shouldn’t have to say… its in the title… ELECTIONS
Your Obedient Servant - WHERE WE ARE RN… Forever and Bad are somehow exchanging letters while Forever is gone? (I’m not caught up but that’s that the clip seemed to be saying)
Forever: “Now you call me "amoral" A "dangerous disgrace"” “Answer for the accusations I lay at your feet or prepare to bleed, good man” Bad: “am not the reason no one trusts you No one knows what you believe I will not equivocate on my opinion… You would need to cite a more specific grievance. Here's an itemized list of thirty years of disagreements.”
The World Was Wide Enough - Forever’s Proposal that ended in explosions
Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Our Story - The Eggs <3

Hamilton Hot Take: A Hamilton that kept in the deleted songs and workshop versions tell a superior story (So Broadway vs Off-Broadway version). And, no, I’m not just talking about Congratulations (although that one should’ve also been kept).
A significant part of Hamilton’s narrative focuses on the relationship between Burr and Hamilton. From the beginning, their ideologies and the way they get ahead are completely different. Burr keeps his true opinions and thoughts close to his chest. He never reveals anymore than what will make him most agreeable to others. His persona is one of inoffensively likable. Hamilton is quite the opposite. He is never indecisive, always shooting off his own opinions. He takes risks in order to grab at better opportunities, but often this leads him to gathering more enemies. And despite these differences, Hamilton and Burr remain good friends who have a lot of mutual respect (and envy) of one another.
Until the second act that is. And the second act is also unfortunately where things start getting cut and rewritten.
As the dsmp fandom would put it, Broadway A. Hamilton is made “smooth” compared to his original counterpart. He’s much calmer and more reasonable. He’s pride and short temper have been stripped away. And Burr, in comparison, is stripped of much of his more sympathetic traits. Aside from Dear Theodosisa (Reprise) and really any mention of his family being entirely cut, he’s made to be far more malicious and villainous in other songs, compared to their original lyrics.
Take for example, Schuyler Defeated. Both versions start on Eliza and Philip finding out about Eliza’s father being challenged for his seat in the senate. In the Broadway version, Eliza is very unconcerned with this development and she and Philip leave the song as quickly as they entered, happy to go and meet the new senator. The original, in contrast, starts out with a panicked Eliza, desperate to find Alexander because she knows exactly how he’ll take this. Hamilton’s characterization also vastly changes depending on the version. Broadway Hamilton is very calm, innocently asking about Burr’s change in party affiliation. Meanwhile, og Hamilton comes out swinging, already furious, he demands to know when Burr changed parties. Hamilton is far more personally offended in this version, framing Burr running against Schuyler as an attempt to “make a fool of [him],” compared to to the Broadway version where he seems more offended on behalf of his father-in-law. The only thing that stops Hamilton from doing anything stupid for what is essentially just running for senate AND not the personal attack Hamilton views it as, is Eliza and, later in the deleted song “Let It Go,” Washington talking him down from it.
Another example is the Broadway vs original versions of “Your Obedient Servant.” The Broadway version is undoubtedly framed in a deeply negative light. He is furious, unable to understand Hamilton’s support of Jefferson, viewing it as an attempt to keep him from winning, as something done to spite Burr specifically. Meanwhile, the original Burr is more calm in level headed in explaining his feelings. In both versions, Burd makes accusations towards Hamilton. In the original, he backs up his claims with a source in the form of a private letter sent in confidant, while Broadway Burr makes accusations of Hamilton calling him “amoral [and] a dangerous disgrace,” which is never said by Hamilton anywhere and has no basis. This combined with Burr already suggestion they can name a time and place I’d they have a disagreement, makes Burr come across as far more petty and eager to start a fight. Faced with accusation with no basis, Broadway Hamilton responds fairly reasonably, saying he would need to sight a specific source for him to be able to disavow those words, and provides his own list of disagreements with. Original Hamilton, however, is very flippant of the accusations, being incredibly petulant in denying Burr’s accusations, mocking the wording of them. And yes, while both Burr’s escalate the conversations to threats, the Hamilton’s responses show just how different these versions. Broadway Hamilton stands by what he says and defending himself by saying that everything he said is true and that Burr stands for nothing. Which is completely true, so Burr then challenging Hamilton to a duel makes Burr seem unreasonable and angry that Hamilton pointed out how his own ideology screwed him over. While original Hamilton makes the whole disagreement incredibly personal, for no reason, bringing up Burr’s dead wife to mock him. It’s only then that Burr challenges Hamilton to a duel, to which Hamilton agrees to almost immediately, showing how rash the original Hamilton is, compared to the Broadway version who thinks the challenge over for a few seconds before agreeing.
And finally, “Ten Things, One Things,” really shows how far their friendship and understanding of each other has fallen off. Burr’s perspective shows how much he wants Hamilton to apologize and back down from the duel, only realizing at the 8th count that this is a serious duel, and Hamilton won’t be backing down. Meanwhile Hamilton goes into the duel considering the possibility they might die, but as the counting continues he becomes more and more convinced he and Burr will survive. He is specifically is assured of this by realizing it’s not in Burr’s political interests to kill him. While Hamilton scrutizes the area, Burr’s own fear and paranoia takes hold, convinced Hamilton will shoot, Burr resolves to kill Hamilton first, so his daughter will not orphaned. All the while, is so assured of his safety that he starts to think about going to back to his house to see Eliza awaken. Neither one of them are able to fathom the possibility of the other outside of the image they’ve created of each other. Hamilton cannot see a Burr that wouldn’t wait, and Burr cannot see a Hamilton who would throw away his shot.
Far more emphasize is placed on Hamilton’s violent anger in the original, while in the Broadway version this is lost and Burr is pained more as the unreasonable instigator in their deteriorating friendship, when the original makes it so much more complicated than that. Broadway is so much more Black and White in the story it tells, where the villain Burr shoots our hero Hamilton, rather than the far more interesting story of a friendship between two men based on mutual respect, admiration, and envy and how that friendship ultimately changed both until they could no longer understand each other and how that inability to see how the other had changed, led to their ultimate falling out in the form of final duel.
I’m not saying the workshop versions of songs are better musically (I know jack shit about music) but they make Hamilton’s characterization and relationship with Burr so much richer and that’s why the story they tell is so much better to me.
TLDR; Hamilton is less of bitch in the Broadway version and it makes me >:(
I hope this makes sense, I started to ramble
^^^
god damn this is so good idk what to do with this other than nod and tell you to run my blog for me
also- this reminds me of what happened to off broadway orpheus vs live broadway orpheos, bc ob!orpheus is a self confident bitch who was charismatic and funny and I like him so much, and b!orpheus is a awkward little rat creature who doesn't make as much sense both as a character and in the narrative. he got smoothed

Ok so I saw Hamilton today (4-4-18) on broadway and here’s like a lil review of how amazing it was
•Alexander Hamilton- I was going through so much shock that i was actually there I don’t remember much but the placements of all the characters during the “me? I _____ him” was spot on
•Aaron Burr Sir- The guy playing burr made burr so sarcastic it was great
•My Shot- This is probably my least favorite song but like the bros™️ were hitting the table with cups and their fists and it was so cool
•The Story of Tonight -Very low key bros being bros drinkin
•The Schuyler Sisters- The “and Peggy” was so like hey what about me it was great. Also those girls are phenomenal like wish I was half as talented
•Farmer Refuted-I’m pretty sure thayne Jasperson was the og Samuel seabury and he’s on point like Hamilton was all up in his face and he just pushed ham away and moved his box in front of him
•You’ll Be Back- Ok so king George was a great singer but he sang kinda annoyingly and I thought that really portrayed king George
•right hand man- G-wash was so great honestly and the ensemble in this song was so awesome and on point
•A winters ball- Reliable with the LADIES
•helpless- Lexi Lawson is very different from Phillipa soo but she’s so talented and absolutely killed it also Hercules as the flower girl was the best creative decision ever
•satisfied- Um ok so like actually shook Mandy fricking Gonzales is so talented like at the part at the end she not only killed it, she stabbed it 27 times and drop kicked it to mars like it was a mouth drop open and they redid everything from helpless perfectly 11/10 one of the best parts
•the story of tonight reprise- Drunk Lauren’s is the best
•wait for it- Ok home slices you know how much I went off on how good satisfied was well, this was 100 times better. Burr was better than Leslie Odom by a lot he was the best in the show
•stay alive-There were British soldiers in the background it was cool also Charles Lee was funny cuz he’s a general WEEEE
•10 duel commandments-Laurens, who has just shot someone: fuck ya I just shot that bitch fuck him.
Me: I’m so proud of you
•meet me inside- Ham: im not your son
G-wash: that sound fake but ok
•that would be enough-Again, Lexi Lawson slayed as eliza like she was pregnant and still killing it
•guns and ships- Lafayette was mega fast like I know all the words to that song and I could barely understand what he was saying but he was still great
•history has its eyes on you- G-wash gave ham a sword and when he put it in the holder it made such a nice noise
•Yorktown- I love big group numbers like this the choreography was on point. Right before herc entered they were waving redcoats and he burst through them and it was awesome
•what comes next-King George went im so blue and all the lights turned blue I just really like that part
•dear theodosia-This is my favorite song on the soundtrack and I wish they did a bit more with it onstage cuz they kinda just stood and sat and that was it
•the part where Laurens dies that I can’t remember the name of- Ok this was so sad but herc and Lafayette were up on the top part with the same letter that eliza was reading to ham and I didn’t know that they did that and it made the scene a lot more sad
•non stop- Ham is so extra I love it. They had chairs to represent ham, john jay and Madison and they all faced backwards and when John jay got sick after writing five they flipped his chair around and they took away Madison’s chair when he only did 29 and Hamilton was sitting in the third chair and I just really liked the way they did that. Also when ham goes to burr in the middle of the night there’s a light that makes it look like burr is standing in a doorway and I just really liked that lil detail also non stop is the song that got me and my friend that i went with into Hamilton so it has a special place in my heart
•intermission- Umm pretty boring actually, 15 minutes of random dudes coming on and off stage making sure everything is ok, no singing or dancing 0/10 but here’s a photo of me at intermission
Tumblr media
•what’d I miss- Ok so at the start of this, ensemble came out from different places and one of them came from the orchestra hole and I thought that was hilarious also this is 10x better on stage than it is on the soundtrack the ensemble was all on point doin their thing
•cabinet battle one- There was a mic drop and that’s all I wanted from this song and I got it
•take a break- Ok so Philip was great in this he was so nervous doing his poem and eliza was beatboxing like the true queen she is. And the beginning part made great use of the circle thing on the stage like ham was facing back when Philip and Eliza sang and then it circled him to the front and Philip and eliza to face the back I loved it
•say no to this- Spoiler, Hamilton didn’t say no. Also James Reynolds had a southern accent and I thought it was so funny
•the room where it happens- I said it once I’ll say it again burr was phenomenal like his lil dance was awesome this song blew me the fuck away
•Schuyler defeated- Idk what to say about this one except for I liked that Philip and eliza were on the balcony thing off to stage left
•cabinet battle 2- I love that these are rap battle but also epic rap battles of history is literally this cuz it’s a musical about history also when Madison said France it was so small it made it more funny
•Washington on your side- When they go OH the lights went big on the floor it was cool. Also “look at the bill of rights, which I wrote” I always thought Jefferson said which I wrote so since I started listening to Hamilton, I’ve had three tests/quizzes with a question on who wrote the constitution and the bill of rights and I always put Jefferson cuz of this line and I always got it wrong so fuck you hamilton
•one last time- I cried, g-wash was so good at the end of this song I can’t I want to hear him sing this every day
•I know him- When the lady whispered in his ear he was like what cuz like john Adams? That’s short bitch?
•the adams administration- Ham drops a stack of papers from the balcony and it hits the ground on a big beat and it was soo cool
•we know- Hamilton spills his soul out and Jefferson burr and Madison are like :o
•hurricane- I never really liked this song too much but The ham dude did it so amazing and the lighting looked like water and hurricanish
•the Reynolds pamphlet- Ok king George is in this and it’s the funniest thing ever cuz he’s all like I told you that you guys would suck and look! A very upper person had an affair
•burn- I’ve seen bootlegs of this song so many times but there’s nothing like seeing it onstage cuz it goes black at the end and all you can see is the fire from her lantern it’s beautiful
•blow us all away- I love Philips character cuz he’s such a kid and he’s great and talks a little fast
•stay alive reprise- I cried real hard during this, 11/10 death, would cry about again
•its quiet uptown- So sad lots of crying from the big tough looking guy sitting next to me. I really like how angelica narrates it I think that’s cute
•election of 1800- Ham: sad cuz of sons death
Everyone, chanting: choose you Bitch we’re incapable of doing it ourselves
But Jefferson did an I win dance when he was endorsed and burr was like wtf bro guess i gotta kill you now
•your obedient servant- When Hamilton writes a letter to burr it was 5 pages long and they had a different person deliver each page and the last girl had two and was doing a little dance to deliver them it was great
•best of wives best of women- Look at ham writing his note to next of kin, love your wife more she’s Lexi Lawson for Christ’s sake
•the world was wide enough- I cried even tho I knew he was gonna die. Hams part where there was no music was so dramatic and g-wash came on and hams Mom and Laurens/Philip it was so sad I loved it
•who lives who dies who tells your story
Thinking about this is gonna make me cry again but Hamilton was not in this number at all and I thought that was great cuz he’s dead but honestly fabulous way to end the show I’m shoooook
All in all it was a beautiful show, much more than I could have ever asked for. We had terrible seats but that’s ok cuz it’s Hamilton. The lighting and dancing and blocking was phenomenal I never really notice anything like that when I see shows but it was so good I talked about the lighting for 5 minutes straight and I don’t know jack shit about lighting

Do they have to be good moments? LolIdk if this is actually in any order but I’ll number them just to keep it clean. 1. Eliza being annoyed/pissed with him from the surround during non-stop after Washington asks him to be treasury secretary. 2. Wedding kisses3. Hamilton seeing her pregnant for the first time in That Would Be Enough4. Eliza stressin when Alexander is asking for her hand in marriage5. This isn’t in the show but Let It Go and the OG Schuyler Defeated that whole shit I love them there.6. Eliza putting his coat on him when Washington calls him back to war.

Congratulations is another one of those songs you just jump around to. Like, you can’t not be dancing during this song.
I do find it upsetting that so many songs had to be cut due to limited time because Congratulations, the OG Adams Administration, and the OG Schuyler Defeated deserved better than this.
Random impulsive decision that I’ve decided to make. So I have a playlist that’s just filled with musicals and it’s like 500+ songs, and they’re all in order of when I first got into the musical they came from. So it starts with Hamilton because that was the beginning, and I think that the last thing on there is Cruel Intentions. I haven’t included any StarKid Musicals yet, but I’ll get them there eventually. I’m challenging myself.
1. I have to listen to them in order
2. There is no skipping under any circumstances
3. Should I have to stop, I have to pick back up where I left off
4. I can’t listen to any song prematurely, meaning I can’t listen to any DEH song until I’ve gotten to that point in the challenge
This is going to take like a week, and I’m lowkey excited
