I once wondered what subject each of the X-Men teach at Xavier School. For a long time, Cyclops had occupied my mind and I could not find a lesson topic that would suit his character. Then one day I looked at the Wikipedia page and learned that:
Scott Summers teaches geometry in addition to self defense. Now no one can come and tell me that this man does not live for geometry. Just look at him:

I can completely imagine that when Charles was dividing the teaching subjects between his X-Men, Scott went to his office two days ago, put both his hands on the desk and said in his strongest tone: Either you'll let me teach geometry or I will riot.
Do you wanna guess what topic gambit teaches?🤣😁

After X-Men 66, cover date March 1970, the title had just become reprint stories (issues 67 - 93). Everything changed with Giant-Size X-Men 1, cover date May 1975. While it also had some reprint elements, it also had an original story where a new team was created to save the original team from the living island Krakoa. The issue introduced Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, Nightcrawler, Major Chasen, Illyana Rasputin, Mr and Mrs Rasputin, and Krakoa. They were created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. The new team for this adventure was made of Wolverine (first appeared in Incredible Hulk 180), Banshee (first appeared in X-Men 28), Sunfire (first appeared in X-Men 64), Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Nightcrawler. Plans were made to continue with quarterly new issues, but the new team was such a hit, that the comic started printing new stories (bi-monthly) with issue 94, and, monthly, starting with issue 112. The issue also featured a cameo by Marvel comic makers Dake Cockrum (his first comic appearance), Glynis Wein, and Len Wein. ("Deadly Genesis!: Chapter One: Second Genesis" "Deadly Genesis: Chapter Two: And When There Was One" "Deadly Genesis: Chapter Three: Assault Force" "Deadly Genesis!: Chapter Four: Krakoa... the Island That Walks Like a Man" "Call Him... Cyclops (X-Men 43)" "I, the Iceman (X-Men 47)" "The Female of the Species" (X-Men 57), Giant Sized-X-Men 1, Marvel Comic Event)

I am currently writing a goddamn multipage essay about Scott fucking Summers of the X-Men, because my beloved mutual @iggy-gotthisaccountunderduress asked me to infodump and I'm so happy to do so, but I'm not even halfway done and already have 2.5k words of this. Why am I like this? I just spent a goddamn hour writing this out and I'm not even done. I still have more to say. I'm enjoying this but I have shit to do.
This infodump got way too long and likely will not be out until tomorrow because I've got shit to do today and I cannot spend another hour writing an essay about Scott Summers and his entire goddamned history that's still skipping and skimming over parts.
But tomorrow, ye be warned, I'll have quite the story for you. Because goddamn is that man's story convoluted and long.
#the problem with infodumping#is that once you start you just can't stop#and so you just keep writing and writing and writing#and next thing you know you have an essay longer than some fics you've written#and it's just explaining who scott summers and what he's done#*sighs* it's hard being a nerd sometimes#especially when someone asks you about your special interest and you don't want to miss a detail#jae's thoughts

I know nothing about pokémon except the basic universe knowledge (literally just pikachu + that one mlm/wlw solidarity duo (I think)) but you’re so right about Scott being into them, I can see him in the more obscure side of the lore (I’m assuming pokémon has that fandom aspect??) pls share more
Pokémon probably does have deeper lore. I’m not super familiar with it. I grew up playing the games and watching the anime. But I don’t believe it’s necessary lore heavy. (I could be wrong)For me I just liked playing the games and collecting Pokémon :3
But I’m sure Scott would do heavy research about the world
Scott strikes me as someone who likes to complete games. I Feel like he has to 100 percent the games. He has to complete the Pokédex.
Also I think he’d be into battling side of the game. He’s a big strategy guy and I think he would make sure his Pokémon team has the best IV stats. He’s doing a lot of grinding and making sure he has the best combination of Pokémon on his team. Giving them the best moves. He accounts for all the different types and makes sure he can counter them.
Yeah I think battling others would appeal to him. He’s gonna enter into tournaments
I’m also remembering the comic panels where he talked about how he got really into horseshoes.
Give this man a ds and he’s locking in
I was trying to pick a Pokémon team for him. So far I decided on psyduck and flygon. (If any one has any other ideas please let me knooow ❤️)
#I don’t know what other Pokémon would fit for him#or the ones he’d like#one of the kids probably showed him the game#they don’t like to play against Scott though#just cause he takes it so serious and he always whoops their asses#he’s a nerd#❤️#scott summers#anon ask

I'm a fairly skinny guy, and I've always wondered what it would be like to be in a frat. Would you be able to help me?
You always wondered what it would be like to be part of a frat. Each day, as you walked to or from the library, you'd see them. Drunk, laughing, partying... what would it be like to be part of that? Where the only thing that seemed to matter was bro-ing out with your bros. You'd shaken that thought aside. After all, you were committed to your studies. Brain over brawn. Your future was bright- medical school plans, 4.0 GPA, and an internship doing research over the summer. All that hard work didn't exactly give you the time to focus on other things. Gym? No way. Banter over sports? You were never into that kind of stuff anyway. No- skinny, nerdy you wasn't going to be in a frat. Wasn't happening.
That was what you thought. At least until you bumped into Scott while walking to the library. You had been doing flashcards on your phone when you collided into his musclar back. He turned, initially shocked, seemingly ready to put his thick, bulging arms to use. But when he saw you, his dull eyes widened with a hint of excitement.
"Bro! You scared me there!" He laughed- his voice dull and dumb.
He rubbed the back of his head, exposing his pits and allowing his post work-out musk to invade your nostrils. His dull, brown eyes conveying little was going on behind them. His perfect smile somewhat predatory as he talked about his frat's newest recruitment strategy. The "Frat Exchange Program" was going to let nerds like you swap with a bro, get to live a little frat-life. And after a month, if you liked it, you'd be made a member. No hazing, no recruitment, no questions asked. But there wasn't much time left. And Scott made sure to really emphasize that you had to make the choice now. So you gave it a quick thought. Join the frat, get to experience frat life for a little bit, and then go back to your old life. Get the taste of it that you wanted, but still get to pursue your academic dreams. Seemed like the best of both worlds. And so you accepted.
The Frat Exchange Program was more of an exchange than you realized at first. You thought you'd just get to live in the frat house with Scott as your guide. But it was so much more than that. And the muscular bro that stared back at you in the mirror confirmed it. Scott was right when he said you'd be swapping with a bro. He just didn't tell you it would involve swapping bodies with him. Not that you were complaining. Your hands teased his your sensitive nipples as you gave your pecs a bounce. That musk that invaded your nose from earlier continued to do so, but now it made your dick twitch.
"Fuck..." You gasped as Scott's, now your dick, strained against the confines of your shorts.
And you grabbed it with your meaty hand. Watching as the muscles in your arms bulged. A dumb grin forming on your perfect face...
The first few days living as Scott were tough. Despite your increasing horniness and love for this body, your old habits continued. You'd found Scott's more conservative clothing and dressed in those as you went to his classes. You avoided alcohol and the banter with the other frat bros was awkward and forced. But when Derek invited you to the gym, you felt like you should go. Not because you wanted to, but because you wanted to make sure you maintained Scott's body. But that first gym session... the way your muscles ached... the smell... it was too much...
From that point on, you found yourself craving the gym. You'd started skipping his classes. Wearing only gym clothes. And as the other frat bros caught on, they encouraged you. You loved going to the gym with them. And when you returned after a tough gym session with your bros, instead of showering, you found yourself lounging on the couch. A beer forced into your hand, the big game on the large flatscreen TV on full display... Each passing day... each moment in the frat house... with your bros... It wasn't long before you were bantering with your new bros. Words like 'dude', 'bro', 'rizz', unironically becoming cemented in your vocabulary. Fuck... you loved this life...
When the month was up and it was time to swap back, you felt a sadness welling up from within you. Your dull eyes reflecting your inward dismay. Scott would be back with your body in just a little bit and then you'd go back to being skinny old you. It seemed impossible though- you were different now. Mentally, you weren't that nerd anymore. You were like any of your bros. And you hated the thought of that weak, skinny version of yourself. Which is why when Scott walked in with your body, your eyes widened in surprise.
Scott had certainly been busy that month while you were partying with his bros. He went to the gym, did whatever he had to in order to give your body the upgrade it needed.
"To be perfect for our frat." He said.
And when you swapped into your old body- now a hulking mass of muscle and testosterone- you felt truly at home. Scott had even done you the favor of dropping your classes and switching your major. And as you lounged on the couch, shirtless and bantering with your bros...planning your next gym sessions... you realized that the frat was perfect for you. That frat life was your life.
Just another successful candidate in the Frat Exchange Program.

I have always liked the idea of the school for mutants being very literally a school, and I know yes it is but I mean in the sense of if you want to be an X-men, you have to be a teacher. They have exams at the end of years, they have Ofsted checks (for those who don’t know what they are, it’s essentially people coming to check that the school is good at being a school) and they have teachers for every subject, which brings me to my next point;
“I’m Right You’re Wrong, Here’s What The X-Men (‘97 specifically) Would Teach As Subjects”.
(Also this is based off of UK school system but I use American terms like “seniors” and “AP” and “Midterms”)
Maths Teacher Gambit is surprising, for a guy most assume to not being entirely smart, an idiot goof off who’s the comedic relief. But you need to know numbers to gamble, and that he does with being very well versed in mathematics way past an AP level. He’s made the promise for every senior class that he will teach them to play blackjack on the final day, and has only ever lost once. Which is when the rule of “no betting real money” came into place.
English teacher Jean reminds me of the kind of teacher who would let the social outcasts into her class for their lunch breaks. The kids more likely to be bullied and she will fight tooth and nail to make sure those kids bullies don’t come into that classroom. they’re loud and shout and shouldn’t really be in there but no one has to know and she certainly won’t be telling them to leave any time soon.
Physics teacher Magneto is very specific to my highschool experience I’ll be honest. I had a physics teacher who was an actual Dr with a PHD and he hated being there. His classroom has (well, had since the building was knocked down about 5 years ago now) this one cabinet that was never fully shut, it was always open just about an inch or two, and he’d stand with his foot hovering just above it and then slam down on it whenever we got too loud so the noise would shut us up. That’s very magneto coded. Erik Lehnsherr would purposefully make the cabinet always a little open so he can do that.
Biology teacher morph is just a funny concept, a person whose physical form and change and morph into just about anything. They are considered one of the “fun” teachers, you could easily convince them to let you watch a movie all class as long as it was biology centred, but with classics like Osmosis Jones, you’re not stuck watching a documentary about animals giving birth.
Chemistry teacher Storm does not fuck about with children’s education. She is not strict by any means whatsoever, she just will not bend to someone saying they want to watch a film or should do a practical instead of theory. She has a set curriculum. She knows what she will be doing by the first week of the summer holidays and already has the room set up all pretty and organised.
Geography teacher Scott has the unfortunate job of telling his students that, they just won’t be looking at memorising country flags and politics. But hey!! Rocks are cool!! Beach shores are cool! Lake formations are cool! He’s the vice principal and designated nerd teacher. He once beat the elite four for a student on their copy of Pokémon Red because the student promised they’d do well in their midterms. Yes, he was in his 30s when the game came out, he doesn’t care.
History teacher Logan is a walking fun facts book. He’s exhausted, goes on smoke breaks on every gap of time he has, dislikes his job and will randomly get passionate about one specific topic, and will then dedicate his next 4 classes to that topic. Having been through a lot of modern history with personal experiences, he’s able to bring a lot of souvenirs to show his classes. Bullets, helmets, clothes he once wore hundreds of years ago, his personal memories of basic inventions like the vaccine.
PE (physical education) teacher Rogue is full of fun sports games, you can join any kind of sports team you can imagine and if you ask nicely enough, she’ll put Just Dance on a projector in the sports hall so you can just play that instead of actually play an actual sport. As long as you leave her class exhausted and without time to have a shower before your next class then she’s succeeded in making whoever your next teacher is absolutely miserable (bonus points if it’s Logan with his enhanced sense of smell).
Art teacher jubilee does believe that there is a right way to critique art. And she can be a little in your face about it. She does think you can have wrong opinions especially when it comes to your own art. If she overhears you saying you didn’t something wrong, she’ll scream into a megaphone “adapt, improvise, overcome!”. There are no mistakes! She’s eccentric, bubbly, creative and brilliant, the only one suited for the job.
It wouldn’t be a school without budget cuts. That’s why Nightcrawler is both the languages and religions teacher and he’s beloved at both. He comes up with roleplay scenarios the students can play to help learn their chosen languages, he has varied religious texts in his room and when he says to the students “I’ll pray for toy during exam season” he’s not actually joking.
(I forgot about Hank I’m actually going to cry he’s one of my favourites and I forgot about him. He’ll be in pt two or smth.)

I want him to get a sword because we were promised the Scott-saber in X of Swords, and I am still waiting.
Plus I honestly think it would be a neat way to tie in both Teen Scott getting sword fighting lessons from Corsair in his solo, and that time Wolverine entrusted him with Muramasa to take care of Logan in a "worst case scenario".

ive seen some posts on twitter about how scott should get a sword and i think its funny bc he already has guns in his eyes. im going thru artblock also this is all ive been able to draw that hasnt been shit
#scott summers#marvel art#x men#marvel#i just think it would also be neat to see him sparing with illyana#they'd both be able to nerd out about sword fighting together

The Blob, along with Svenzaldo Zambooba, Tex, and Stetcho, were introduced in X-Men 3, cover date January 1964. They were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In the early days of the X-Men, they went to recrute a new mutant to the team, but to their shock, he didn't want to join. This was before Professor Xavier had any qualms erasing people's memories, so Professor X erased both the Blob's and the Circus he attacked the school with memories.
