Series I, Part IV

SCP-017 - Shadow Person

It’s a shadow that eats you if your shadow intersects with it. Appropriately creepy. The article doesn’t state whether or not the shadow person is three dimensional. I’m choosing to believe it’s not, because it’s creepier that way.

I like this one. It’s not creepy, just weird, and dangerous because it breaks physics. I love the idea of it.

SCP-019 - The Monster Pot

One of the first things that jumped out to me about this article was the line “If a successful method is discovered, SCP-019 is to be destroyed with prejudice.”, regarding the destruction of the pot. It’s just so blunt, and shows a side of the Foundation that is sometimes forgotten, I think. The “P” in SCP stands for Protect, and it’s about protecting the world from the objects. And this object just lets weird, small, violent creatures out. Forever. They’re relatively easy to kill, but they never stop coming. It makes sense why this is classed as Keter, and why they’d destroy it if they could.

SCP-020 - Unseen Mold

Mold already creeps me out a bit (thanks, Resident Evil 7!), but this one really takes the cake. What gets me isn’t that it takes people over, or even that it tries to get itself to spread. No, it’s that it grows on people and they (and others) wouldn’t notice unless they’re looking at them through some sort of camera. BRB, going to examine everyone I know with the camera on my phone before I do anything else today.

SCP-021 - Skin Wyrm

This is another one that’s just sort of weird, rather than necessarily creepy (these are fast becoming my favorite kind of skip, if you couldn’t tell). I like that it’s not just a tattoo that moves; no, it does indeed need to eat (other tattoos). That gives it a leg up on other, similar ideas.

How you doing today? Unfortunately, my 'Visible When Wet' SCP didn't make a cut, but I'll try to read more scp to learn how to make a plot for my next scp better. In a mean time, have a half cat.

Aw man, I thought the fact that it discovered an infestation of SCP-020 (which is one of my favorite SCPs by the way and is the reason I fell in love with the SCP Foundation in the first place) would have made it stand out and had writers fall in love. Oh well, glad you're not letting it get you down and trying to do better. That's the essence of a writer right there, I'll be rooting for you.

Also, nice drawing did you do it or was it a friend of yours? I like SCP-529 and its actually an inspiration for one of my own upcoming OC SCPs that have to do with a cat. So, look forward to that. Thanks again for the drawing!

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Samples of SCP-020 are stored in a series of sealed cultivation chambers inside a sealed containment room at Biological Research Area-12 which is accessible only via airlock. Nutrients are administered via automated robotic systems, as the cultivation chamber must remain sealed at all times.

Hermetically sealed video surveillance cameras are installed within the containment room, and must be checked daily for integrity. Any personnel entering the containment room must wear Biosafety Level 5 equipment including rebreathers and undergo full anti-fungal disinfection upon exiting.

Description: SCP-020 is a fast-spreading fungal organism that is capable of affecting the senses and behavior of living creatures, including humans. Samples of SCP-020 exhibit an unknown effect that renders them effectively invisible to direct observation, even when under a microscope. SCP-020 is only visible to humans when viewed through photographic or video surveillance.

Once SCP-020 forms a colony, usually within a human residence, it will produce spores that affect the behavior of humans around it. Affected subjects will increase the heat and humidity within their homes to create an environment more suitable to the growth of SCP-020. Affected subjects also become more sociable in many cases, and often invite acquaintances to their homes to further spread the organism. As the spores and mold colonies are invisible to affected subjects, the mold may sometimes grow directly on living subjects.

As the spores and colonies within a home approach critical concentration, the health of affected human subjects will rapidly deteriorate, resulting in death. Further spread of the mold may occur as the bodies of any deceased subjects are encountered by emergency responders and health care agents, as well as transportation of the bodies to local morgues.

SCP-020 was first encountered in [REDACTED], where an undercover SCP agent noted dramatic personality changes in personnel working at the local hospital. Upon investigation by a containment team, it was discovered that almost ███ civilians had been infected, as well as a majority of the town. The civilian population was terminated, and the town incinerated under cover of a local flash forest fire.

To date, over 12 outbreaks of SCP-020 have been reported. Investigations are currently underway to determine the source of these outbreaks and possible preventative measures.

It is assumed that at this point, the infected civilian noticed T2-4 carrying a primed incendiary weapon, and lunged forward at the team members with the knife.

SCP-020-FM: Somewhere in Navada

Object Class: Unknown

Containment procedures: all exits to the state Navada are to be guarded. Anyome attempting to exit are to be asked about there stay. If their answer implies nothing strange, they're allowed to go through. If it implies hardships but nothing massive, they are to be amnesitized and then allowed through. If their answer seems to great to erase, or they have obvious signs of abnormal abilities or injuries, they are to be terminated.

Description: SCP-020-FM is a crossing of two universes that only seems to happen in Navada at random intervals.

Those who survive escaping the other Navada describe it as "literal hell", clarifying by bringing up constant fire and battle, death, the undead, and reality manipulations all around. Most of the death seems to encompass one person. Not much is currently known about the individual. Those originally from that reality also seem to get surprised about having arms.

Sometimes the rift and merging gets big enough to be seen from a distance away. These moments cause prohibition of any travel into, out of, or through Navada.

Deeper study has been requested, but it's yet to be allowed.

SCP-020: Invisible Mold

A type of mold invisible to the naked eye. It invades human habitats and releases spores which affect the behaviour of those living there, including making them alter the temperature and humidity of their house to suit the SCP's needs and inviting other people round to their house so that the organism can spread to other households. When spores reach a critical concentration level, the humans affected will rapidly deteriorate in health and die. TL;DR? Invisible mind-control fungal infestation. Also death.
