Listen, SCP-021-J is honestly a wonderful idea. Evil Water Bottle by itself sounds fecking hilarious but also fecking existentially horrifying. We have SCPs that are even scarier and more existentially horrifying just by being a goddamned ROCK. I think an EVIL FECK OFF WATER BOTTLE is the top of the list considering the amount of water bottles we buy and consume. i do think that mainsite scips & tales have the capacity to be genuinely serious and gutwrenching* (*see: scp-4231 for example), its just that at its core the scp foundation is a silly collaborative project about making up monsters and having your silly little authorsonas interact with eachother gaystyle. 021-j is just a beautiful glimpse into the days of lolfoundation and people hate it bc everyone wants to take the foundation way too seriously. which is big talk coming from me of all people but you know.

Addendum: It appears that SCP-021-J, in fact, has the ability to start unnecessary and lengthy internet discourse about itself.

This began when SCP-021-J made a public forum post hating on itself from the POV of an “SCP wiki OG”. This started a long argument as to whether this is, in fact, a valid -J article, or a low effort gag that barely should even be considered an SCP.
