So, I'm talking to my brother about Once Upon a Time and Peter Pan and I found out several things:

He never understood why people shipped Hook and Emma because personally he saw no chemistry whatsoever between them.

He felt there was more chemistry between Aurora and Hook though he admits that there might be a tropey reason for shipping the two because Aurora is innocent and Hook is dark. Personally, I also felt there was more chemistry between Aurora and Hook as well. Idk, she was the only one who cared about his well-being and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Both of us agree though in real life, Aurora should not EVER be with Hook and that she would deserve better. She should be with her Prince Philip (or Mulan).

Emma should've been with Neal.

Neal had one of the most interesting backstories that it should've been explored more. He would've watched an episode on that if the writers centered more story on Neal because it was pretty cool.

One of my brother's favorite books was about Peter Pan and it was Peter Pan and the Starcatcher's. He loved it because the main characters were poor and so relatable. My idea of Peter Pan is the same. The focus should have been on ordinary people in the Neverland arc with Neverland giving us the fantasy and fairy tales. Most fairy tales center on princesses and princes and basically nobility. Rarely do we see a tale centering on outcasts. That should've been the theme and to an extent it was but honestly there was too much focus on Rumpelstiltskin and giving us that horrible twist. My brother was somewhat impressed with the twist but also agreed that a classic character like Peter Pan shouldn't have been ruined in orchestrating a shocking twist for viewers. It was a disrespect to the source material

My brother and I don't even remember how the Neverland arc ended. We just remember that Peter Pan was Rumpelstiltskin's dad. My brain broke from that so I couldn't recall what happened later. I was so bitter. But my brother, aside from the twist on Peter Pan being a dad, was wholly unimpressed with the entire Neverland arc and hardly remember much of what happened.

Anyway yeah, basically I'm pretty surprised by brother is actually a Swanfire shipper, that he viewed Neal interesting and would've liked to see more of his backstory, and that "Peter Pan and the Starcatcher's" was his favorite book growing up.

I really need to read "Peter Pan and the Star Catchers"

finished up this big ol' boy this weekend at long last. i picked him up right before i started having hip issues, and then when i actually started working on him i realised he was going to require a lot more work than just a quick bath and a plaque. it took many hours of scraping mummified membrane with razor blades and soaking and scraping and soaking to get him sparklingly clean and ready to be hung up, but i was determined to do right by him.

my spouse made the plaque and hanging apparatus for me and has been a big help in finishing this project while i'm still recovering.

i just wish i had a better place to hang this guy up for his full photo…but oh well, you get the point!
