your perception of you is the only perception that matters!! you are the only person that will ever truly know who you are, so take care of yourself .. stop letting what people choose to see you as affect who you KNOW YOURSELF TO BE! why do we do this to ourselves? we have to stop letting the opinions of others put us in bad spaces. opinions are overrated, they are everywhere, everyone has them & for whatever reason, most of them are negative but think of it this way:

because most people have no love & value for themselves, they will never understand the importance of being kind & loving to others! this world can be a cruel place, so full of hate & envy, jealousy & competition so i choose to spread love & light each chance i get. this is just one step toward making the world a better place.

Whats next?

Last week I decided, after 6 months of feeling down and lonely, to resign from my job in Dubai, where I have been the last 3 years. 

I am terrified, I have no job, I will be moving back in with my parents in 3 weeks and I have no qualifications. Yet, I feel like a weight has been lifted. I will be moving back home to people who I miss dearly and I know will support me until I discover what to do next. 

I decided to start documenting my journey as, if this is something that I can do, for the sake of my happiness then anyone can! I am the most emotional worrier out there so I want to share my journey in the hopes that I become a success story, although I am ready for road bumps and I am not even sure what it is I want to be a success at. I know one thing for sure is I will be happy and in good company.

I don’t have all the answers, maybe none at all but I'm going to be sharing my journey to rediscovery and hope that it helps just one person to take the much needed leap too.

C H A N G E P O S T PA R T U M (Forgive me some simmering rage.) Things said on postnatal wards: "This baby does not have tongue tie. You need nipple shields, tell dad to buy these ones now" Baby had tongue tie. Took longer to get a second opinion because parents believed these words. "Do you not want him to get any milk? You need to put up with the pain, stop moving away" Mother had an infection that took her back into hospital on broad spectrum antibiotics for over a week. "If you don't feed that baby now, she is going to be in a whole lot of trouble" Day 2. Healthy baby. No weight loss. Normal nappies. 4am, mother up for 3 hours, husband giving her 20 minutes to sleep. All these comments hugely undermined confidence, and affected real life capability. If you don't know the answer, say you don't know. If you don't have the skills to diagnose, say so. If you don't have anything supportive to say, shut your mouth. If we want to make a difference to breastfeeding rates in this country we need to take a hard look at postnatal wards. No, this isn't all trusts on all days. No, not everyone is saying these things. But the few that are, drowning under their own heavy baggage year after year, they are doing some damage. What do we do about it? . . . .
