𑁥ಎ one, killing while talking about her ♡ being a little cliché, i know for a fact brian can’t stop talking about angel! reader. she’s just such light in his dark life that talking about her reminds him that he isn’t much a monster if you see the good in him. but, he only talks to people he knows won’t spoil it for him—people he’s about to kill.

the first time he talked about you, he wasn’t even the one to bring you up. it was one of his victims, strapped inside the large fridge, their lips gone white unlike his. he doesn’t know what gave it away—maybe the faint trace of your sweet perfume clinging to his jacket, or maybe it was the soft, almost domestic crease in his shirt, like someone had smoothed it down with careful hands before he left.

they were desperate, searching for anything to try to get under his skin. “do you lie to her too?”

he barely glances at them, turning the blade over in his fingers. “mm.” a pause. then, without looking up, “don’t have to. she sees me. likes what she sees.” he shifts his glance from the blade a moment, lost in the thought of his girl. until his victim exhales sharply, and he quickly finds himself cold again like the environment that surrounds him.

after that, he found himself doing it mindlessly—dropping pieces of you into conversations that would never leave the room. it felt good. like a confession. like proof that he had something real, something clean, something untouched by all of this.

the next night was no different. lying on his bed, the prostitute watches him in silence, eyes tracing the shape of him in the dim light. it had been months since she’d seen him. maybe longer. eventually, she speaks, something low and teasing, trying to pull a reaction from him.

he doesn’t respond, too focused on cleaning the blood from under his nails, humming a quiet tune under his breath.

“what’s that song?”

“her favorite.” he doesn’t hesitate.

“her?” she grins, like she’s just uncovered a dirty little secret. like this means something she thinks she understands—she’s mistaken. “she’s not that special if you’re here with me.”

brian almost laughs. his fingers still, turning to her so she doesn’t miss his eyes dark that look at her with something she should be afraid of. he squints briefly, “not quite.”

i’m coming up with this on my own because i’m bored and also i love angela so much like ugh so here’s this small little thing!!

anyway here’s the summary.

you’re a training officer and done for the night, but detective angela lopez definitely is not. she sees you passing out at the desk across from her and has you get up to lay on her.

falling asleep

You loved your wife but she definitely had a working problem.

As in, you could have been done for hours, and she still wouldn’t be home. She’d be sitting in that office chair.

Normally you’d go home, but tonight was date night and you didn’t want to leave her.

You didn’t get to actually go on your date, but you were okay with this being your date. You’d went and got Chinese food, and the two of you ate and tried solving the case.

Angela was talking herself through it, and you were laying you head on Nyla’s desk, which was where you were sitting.

Her voice was putting you to sleep.

You were drooling onto the desk, at this point.

Angela looks up at you just as you are put into a light sleep.

“Baby,” Angela tilts her head, but receives no response from you. “Baby.”

You groan.

“I’m sorry,” Angela flattens her lips as she comes up with an idea. “How about you come here.”

“I’m comfy,” You say, but it’s muffled by the table.

“I’m offering a more comfy position,” Angela smirks as you launch your head up off the table.

“Really?”

“Uh-huh,” She nods, giving you a wide smile. “It’s the least I can do after ruining our date night.”

You smile back, looking at her with all the love in your eyes.

“Are you gonna keep looking at me like that, or are you gonna come get comfortable?” Angela leans back in her chair, watching as you all but trip out of the chair in a hurry to her lap.

“Eager?” Angela says right before you smack into her, all but jumping into her lap. “Oof.”

Your head finds the crook of her neck, and you nod your head a bit to get comfortable. Her scent puts you in a sleepy state yet again.

You’re straddling her on the chair. It pinches your thighs, but you don’t care, because you’re in Angela’s arms. The woman whom you love the most.

Using her feet, she moves herself closer to the desk. Using one hand, she picks the case files back up, while using the other to caress your back softly, which she knew put you right to sleep.

You aren’t quite asleep, which Angela likes, because she wants to talk to you for a few minutes.

“You’re adorable,” Angela places a kiss on your temple.

“You know, when you were my T.O., I never would’ve thought of those words coming out of your mouth,” She feels you grin against her skin.

“I never would have let you, baby,” She says, and you lift your head so you can see her face. “What? I was too sarcastic for your liking.”

“You kind of scared me,” You sleepily laugh.

“Oh? Did I, now?” Angela drops the papers, poking your sides in an assaulting manner.

“Yes,” You wiggle on her lap, laughing. “But not anymore.”

“I sure hope I don’t,” Angela leans back in the chair, her hands resting on your hips.

“You don’t,” You put your arms around Angela and give her a kiss on the lips before laying your head back down.

She continues talking herself through the case, and soon enough, she feels (and hears) you fall asleep in her arms.

Angela places soft kisses on your hair while she works until it’s time to go, at which she wakes you up just to see your sleep face.

Regarding Mori and Dazai’s relationship, the way I see it Mori giving Dazai so much power at such a young age, knowing how unstable Dazai was, was the abuse. I’m not even saying Mori had purely bad intentions, I think Mori projects a lot when it comes to Dazai so he thought that working for the PM, doing something he excels at, would fulfil Dazai as it fulfilled Mori, but it obviously did not. And BSD makes a point of showing the harm of children, but also young adults, having too much power and responsibility time and time again, so the way Mori basically let Dazai run wild seemed always sad to me because it’s not like Dazai’s guns were toys. Dazai was in charge of a lot of missions that got a lot of people killed or hurt. He literally let an emotionally impulsive teen play with guns and torture and whatnot. Also another thing we often see in BSD is how power is extremely isolating and alienating, so making Dazai, who already felt alienated from a lot of peers bc of his intelligence and depression, an executive only added to that. no youre great anon! i believe that this is the beauty of dazai and moris relationship, its pretty ambiguous so it begs room for multiple interpretations. i think ive mentioned mori giving dazai so much power before as being part of the abuse, but the interpretation comes from why mori would want to give dazai so much power.

mori does have a constant problem of assuming dazai is just like him. its the exact reason why he assumes odas death would mean nothing to dazai, even though its very clear he has his own set of morals and values. i also think there might have been some personal intentions from it as well, almost as a way for mori to keep a closer eye on dazai, whether that was because mori is a controlling bastard or because he wanted dazai to be his successor is up in the air (i like to believe its a bit of both).

i also like the point of dazais teenage power play! ive called dazai in the mafia "the dumb decision of a fourteen year old" before, which is pretty much exactly what happened. mori knew how smart dazai was, but he also knew how impressionable he was. dazai definitely would never admit it, but he needed someone there for him. mori chose to fill that role for dazai as well as letting dazai do a lot of the hard work for him. pretty much moris signature.

this is such a good ask anon, a lot of people forget that dazai was really just a teenager in the mafia. i would imagine its like being a preteen in college. you look all big and smart and mature, which you absolutely are, but youre also the most alone you could ever be.

I think Kant would have gotten far less criticism or hatred if KantBison were not being shoved into our throat. Like, clearly the showmakers want us to root for KB, everyone from Style to Cop Chris saying how Kant has fallen for Bison yada yada but at the same time Kant casually talks about Bison, the supposed love of his life, getting shot dead or spending his entire life in prison....without any sign of pain in his voice or face...like he's talking about mildly uncomfy weather.

This is clearly a narrative problem but it does make viewers frustrated and Kant's character has to bear the brunt of this narrative folly. I am very sure if the narrative made it clear from the start that KB are not, under any condition ending up together, the situation would have been different....but of course gmmtv has to sell their cp (by which I mean cp merch and stuff). The showmakers already have a pair (FadelStyle) that are hitting all the right spots for how a romantic pair should be and they can be easily shown to be having a happily ever after. Ideally they should have kept KantBison 'lovers to enemies' actually ending up as enemies...but well....cp 😒

i'll start this by saying this is the one and only ask with hate for kant/kantbison that i will answer because from your oh so many words, i can already tell you fit into the exact category of people who already made up your mind about the character and nothing i say will change your perception. but bc i'm not feeling like being the bigger person, sure, you wanna talk about this, let's talk about this.

first of all, i wanna talk about your apparent hatred for cps (or maybe it's just fk, we never know) and gmmtv's system, and you know, that's so funny because that's, and i know it'll shock you, their thing😯. so maybe if you didn't want to see that, you shouldn't have started watching the show, even after knowing that the two couples would end up together in the end because guess what, this was advertised as a romcom. and we what do we get with romcoms? exactly, happy endings. a travesty.

i find it so funny when people say fadelstyle are hitting all the spots for a romantic pairing, because that's what's supposed to be (again, a romcom), they are the more traditional romantic storyline (or as traditional as you can get with a killer and a guy who only started hitting on him and continued to do so because he wanted a car) so they are supposed to be hitting those spots. it's their storyline.

see, kantbison hooked up that very first night they met, clear attraction, kant was besotted by his one night stand and was calling him a ghost because bison up and ran before they could wake up together. their first interaction together and it had nothing to do with the police, or lying or manipulating, so maybe it's not a narrative problem that kantbison are "being shoved down our throats" maybe it's just a you problem if you didn't notice what they were being set up to.

and many people have talked about this already, and if you cared to read either liz's or lauren's meta about kant, you wouldn't have come to my inbox complaining about kant not being expressive when he clearly can't let himself feel the things he wants because his priority will always be his brother (just like fadel will prioritize bison always) in contrast to style who doesn't have to carry the responsibility of raising and caring for a younger brother on his shoulders.

and darling, if you started this show thinking at any point, from the trailers, pilot or official, promotional photos, osts, novel, press, anything, that kantbison would not be a thing, again, it's not on them, it's on you and your poor observation skills. there are plenty of people way more qualified than me to talk about this and how kant actually cares for bison, and how he's torn between his heart and his brain, but you don't really care, so why bother.

First I could think of was the 7 armed octopus/blob octopus. I fuckin hate em to be honest

They're wierd and slimey and look unpleasant they just aren't right (normalize bullying cephalopods /j)

But we also got the black eyed squid/the clawed arm hook squid, which I personally find wierd

I just really don't enjoy them..

The vampire squid and flamboyant cuttlefish are also strange ones, not strange in a bad way though (since the others may have been not your determination of "wierd" in this sinario ig)

Vampire squid isn't a squid, it has its own unique looks and ways of living which is very wierd!! :D and unfortunately I don't know as much about cuttlefish; but I think the flamboyant cuttlefish is very strange, it has tons of bright colors aswell as some different textures than normal cuttlefish. Which I'm not entirely sure if it's because of the texture changing cells in their skin or its just how they were born

And of course we also have the bigfin squid (it's not a jellyfish, I thought this was a jelly for years tbh) this one doesn't need a ton of explaining.. it's a long squid that's shaped wierd, yknow?

i recently remembered DickTim Week 2024 is happening very soon and i looked at the prompts again to see if i could get anything out for it and. the Hades & Persephone AU prompt for day 1 has got me really thinking so here's a vague concept i plan to write.

i've been pretty burnt out on modern Hades & Persephone retellings because of how they always seem to fall into the same generic "innocent wide-eyed girl runs from her evil mean mother into the arms of a dark mysterious man because actually she went willingly and chose to marry him" which has gotten repetitive for my tastes. (for clarity i don't care if this retelling is your cup of tea personally, so long as you're not actively trying to rewrite the original myth and claim untrue things about it, if this is your favorite flavor i sincerely hope you enjoy the buffet i just have little interest in it since it feels overdone for me and exhausted of it's supposed commentary atp)

but? but. biblically accurate Hades & Persephone AU has me all kinds of interested. because wait listen so hear me out right. Hades!Dick and Persephone!Tim, obviously. i feel it'd be more loosely inspired by with themes and imagery (though playing with death and nature powers could be interesting, i haven't decided) rather than explicitly making them gods and all. but. something dark and fucked up where Dick and Bruce are especially estranged. maybe to do with Jason's return, maybe to do with them just clashing and having their usual explosive arguments. and Bruce knows the peace needs to be kept, if he and Dick are at odds then everyone starts to pick sides and things just fracture so he needs a peace offering.

and the peace offering is Tim.

Bruce (the stand-in for Zeus) offers up Tim. agrees to have Tim move to Bludhaven and be Dick's... whatever Dick wants him to be. knowing that with the implication comes the likelihood of Dick grooming Tim. and Tim has no real say and is hesitant to put up a real fight. he doesn't want this, he knows what this is going to imply Dick will do to him, but he also knows if he says no things have the possibility to just... fall apart. so he's the unwilling bride, dragged off to the metaphorical underworld (Bludhaven) with Dick, away from his family, his friends, the life he built.

and on the flip side, i think weirdly enough, your best pick for the Demeter stand-in is *Jason*. just, hear me out on that. not necessarily on the side of it being motherly, but on Jason being just estranged enough from the Batfamily to be the one willing to call it out for being bad and wrong and raising bloody hell to get Tim back. maybe it's because Jason wants Tim for himself, maybe it's truly out of a concern for Tim to have autonomy, i'm toying with the idea of it primarily being Tim's POV and him genuinely not knowing which of these is true. (and the truth possibly ends up being a complicated middle ground) and because i like Helena, i think you can use her as the Hekate stand in, the one who strikes a tentative alliance with Jason and tries to go find Tim and bring him back. Tim stuck with Dick, getting groomed and hyperaware of it, possibly even getting fucked the whole time as well, knowing he can't go back without causing massive issues for Dick and Bruce because well, Bruce did promise him to Dick. so he has to adjust his whole life, try to figure out being a vigilante in this new city with Dick breathing down his neck the whole time.

and then much like the ending of the myth, a sort of compromise is struck that's a shaky deal for everyone involved. Tim is put on an essential timeshare, going back and forth between Gotham, where he has friends and family and a support system, then getting dragged right back to Bludhaven with Dick in this brutal cycle that he slowly gets used to and stockholm'd into even liking it. Dick isn't so bad, once he gets used to the quirks of their unbalanced 'relationship'. the sex is even something he can adjust to as well. not quite a happy ending but one that sits in this realistic grey area that becomes Tim's life.

i will write this, eventually, but i don't know if i'll get to it before DickTim Week ends so by posting the idea i'm essentially putting it out into the world so the peer pressure holds me accountable. i just. really like the potential of making Hades/Persephone AUs as fucked up as they can be simply by adhering to the source material and making it a raw story of being stolen away and forced to like this new home you didn't ask for.

also a less fleshed-out aspect of this idea i have ties into Persephone becoming the Queen of the Underworld when she's taken and how the transition from Kore to Persephone could be reflected in Tim. how he makes the best of the worst situation and becomes something far more dangerous and dark when he's in Bludhaven, possibly takes on a new vigilante name/identity and leans into the worst quirks of his personality he tries to tamper because there's no point in not going full tilt Obsessively Weird if he has no choice anyway and it being one small way he takes back his autonomy, and that inevitably making Dick *more* into him, because he gets to see Tim finally just. let loose.
