i wish i could give you a full fic along with the moodboards. but i will write this someday.

single parent john f. walker is new to town. he wants to live his life in peace, making a decent living out of his dad's old ranch and doing his best everyday for his daughter - despite the nightmares of war that plague him and the deaths that weigh on his shoulders.

bob, orphaned and disgraced for reasons unknown, walks into john's life and disrupts his routine. on the outside, he's a reckless bull rider. everyone else is too afraid to look within, to see him for the soft spoken boy who only wanted to protect those he loved.

it took an afternoon ride for their paths to cross and merge for life.

Okay so when Bob makes Annabeth and Owen, do they just fall out of the sky into his arms or does he turn around and they're just sitting on the floor? Or do they appear outside the door stork style?

Ha! I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot while planning the actual fic I’m gonna write about the kids. And my current answer is: I have no idea lol. I would love to hear ideas people have but here’s my current concept:

When Bob and John are 11 months into their relationship (3 months before the end credit scene) Bob is being pressured by Val and some of the others to work on controlling his abilities without summoning the void. I think Owen would happen during a mishap with one of these attempts. Maybe he and John were talking about kids the night before, maybe it was in the back of Bob’s mind subconsciously but I picture it more as a total blackout moment. In my mind, the Void is where most of Bob’s reality bending powers come from, therefore that’s where Owen would come from too. He’s a void-baby lol. My thought process is that things that came from the void (Bob’s clothing, his brown hair and John’s stab wound) materialized in the real world as well. If Bob created Owen in the Void, what if he accidentally took him back with him?

Again, this isn’t final or anything and I’m working on this fic as we speak but I would love to hear other people’s ideas or concepts because I’m not 100% sold on this but I love the idea of ‘I accidentally created me and my bf’s love child in the void shame rooms’ as a fic concept

I decided if Bob had a mini me, it was only fair that John gets one too 😂

And yeah I’m afraid neither Annie nor Owen will have it easy in the dating world. I mean when your parents are a military captain/super soldier and a man with the literal power of the sun I imagine they tend to scare away a few potential boyfriends or girlfriends lol. Annie definitely has it worse though, half because of her two older brothers but mostly because of how protective John is over his baby girl

I feel like Bob would be an amazing Stepdad to John’s first son.

They probably got on a rocky start of course but then got super close together.

Bob doesn’t care that he’s not blood related to him, that’s still his son too. Him and Owen are both Bob’s babies.

I have so many thoughts about this and you are so right anon. I consider Dylan to be Bob’s kid just as much as he is John and Olivia’s. They bond over video games and football (Bob is a secret fan) and I like to think that at first Dylan sees Bob as the cool uncle who works with his dad (Bob is amazed that anyone in his life calls him ‘cool’) but after John and Bob get together Dylan starts seeing him more as a stepdad. Dylan calls him ‘Bobby’ because that’s what John calls him, and they’re the only two people Bob would let call him that. Dylan is like a trial run kid for Bob and I think he’d be the reason Bob realizes he might actually make a good dad one day. And when Owen is born Dylan is the second person to meet him after Yelena. As far as Bob’s concerned those are both his boys.

The Thunderbolts are just the perfect disaster family. They probably try and act tough, but they all probably cried the day Owen was born.

I feel that Alexei is probably like the Grandpa that tells crazy stories that people struggle to tell if they really happened or not! 🤣

Okay yes to all of this, Owen has the entire team (even bucky) wrapped around his little finger so here are some Owen headcanons for yall:

- When he was a baby and Bob and John still lived in the tower, he would just sort of be passed around the six different members at multiple points in the day. He’d start the day in Bob’s arms then at some point be given to Yelena, Alexei would take him while John cooks and he’d end the day with John

- Similarly, Owen refused to sleep at first. Bob and John nearly drove themselves insane putting him down for bed until they found out that if you laid him on John’s chest he’d be out like a light for hours

- Bob is a good dad. And I mean a really good dad. He had fears about it before Owen was born due to his own family life but Bob takes to kids so well. He holds conversations with Owen’s nonsense babbling and he is determined to be the ‘fun’ dad. Even when he wants to be alone he likes the comfort of having his baby in his arms

- Likewise, John is overprotective. It’s in his nature honestly, he loves having someone to look after and care for and he really appreciates the moments he gets to have with Owen that he can’t have with his first son. He’d never love one more than the other, but the relationships he has with each of them are completely different

- Alexei. Loves. This. Baby. He is always the first one to volunteer for babysitting and while he may be (a little) reckless with him, he would never let anything hurt him. Even when Owen gets older and John and Bob move out I like to think Owen still goes back to the tower to visit Alexei and Auntie Lena

- Owen is a certified little shit and his main target? Bucky Barnes. He’s taken to hiding Bucky’s arm, pulling on his hair and climbing the old man like a tree but deep down I think Bucky likes having a kid around to mess with, even if he’ll never admit it

- Owen’s favorite superhero is Yelena (this makes John crazy)

- I’m really back and forth on whether Owen should inherit any powers or not. If he inherited anything from Bob, it could lead to a lot of danger but inheriting a bit of super soldier serum would explain why he’s such a tough kid. Either way I think he’d definitely want to follow in his parents footsteps and he starts training himself from age 12 before John takes over to teach him

SentryAgent baby Owen headcanons pt 2: How he was born

- His full name is Owen John Walker-Reynolds

- Funny enough, John picked the first name and Bob picked the middle name

- As fun as the pregnant Bob ideas are, I think for the purposes of the AU it makes more sense for him to be a reality bending creation of Sentry, like Wanda’s kids but he does share DNA with both Bob and John

- Which means he’s a complete and total accident/surprise when Bob gets too experimental with his abilities. I think most of the team would be pretty apprehensive at first, worried about the dangers that this could pose and the implications of just bringing a kid into the world by accident

- John has spent a lot of time trying to be a good dad to his first son, and he would come around, but I do think that Bob creating this kid without any kind of warning or intention would set John off big time at first

- Bob is terrified, of course, by his own powers and feels like he made a world-changing mistake until he gets really attached to the baby. If any of the team, or worse Valentina, threatened to take the kid away or do tests on him Bob would go full Sentry mode

- At first he’s afraid of his own abilities and regrets losing control enough to let this happen but that slowly turns into fear that one day Owen could simply vanish. If he was created, not born, he could just as easily be taken away if Bob lost control again

- it takes a while for the team to come around and realize that Owen is, for all intents and purposes, just a normal baby

- idk maybe I’ll write a proper Owen fic if enough people are interested but I just wanted to get some angsty ideas out there >:) I’m always down to hear other ideas for Owen too
