usually, first i have a concept, the concept tends to be born out of "what ifs" and "wouldn't it be really [x] if [y]" as example: "wouldn't it be really funny if a bankrupt cashier was aslo a serial killer wOAH ACTUALLY IT CAN GET FUCKED UP RLLY QUICKLY LETS WRITE IT AND DO TROPE SUBVERSION" (deidamia rotari) or "What if there was an SCP scientist, but like, they were the definition of 'no thoughts head empty' / 'happy-go-luck' while aslo being really good at their job" (noodle)

and in VERY, VERY unique cases i just grab a trope i like and put it in my story, example: jane teruel <3

once i have the idea, what i like to do first, if its a character, is to give it a name and design, because the concept doesn't tend to come with them😔 i tend to do this either by hand/drawing (noodle and katatasha) if i have a clear idea of what i want (tasha) or if i want a simple design (noodle),

and sometimes i Don't do the design by hand, and instead use some sort of character maker (read: gacha life 2) (sorry for being cringe😔 it will happen again) when the design is a little more complicated!!

Once i am done w/ those steps, then i add complexity to the character!!! like!!! aspects of their personality!!! backstory or something that approaches!! little fun facts!!! to finish em up!! and i note em down sometimes to make a little Character Sumary!! like!! you attempt to explain ur oc at (imaginary or not) someone until you manage to simplify it in order to avoid accidentally write them out of character!! while keeping the complexities!!! yeah its something hard to balance but you manage👍

after im done with creating the character, i then tend to put em in my shelves for a while, spin them, try to know what i wanna do with them....and if i figure that out!!! then i began noting down ideas and concepts until something!!! rises from the mix :3!!!

Poniedziałek

Dzisiaj ciężko było wstać, a trzeba było wcześnie. On wyszedł już o 9, a ja zebrałam się niedługo po Nim.

Pojechałam na roller, a potem na pazy. Dawno nie miałam prawdziwej czerwieni. 😄 miałam w planie jechać do miasta na zakupy, ale uznałam że w sumie bez sensu i podjechałam do Pointa u siebie w miasteczku. W sumie dobrze zrobiłam, bo i tak ledwo zdążyłam na calla w pracy.

W międzyczasie przyjechała mi jedna z chyba trzech póki co 😅 paczek z SHEIN. Więc po wypakowaniu zakupów szybko pomierzyłam i na szczęście udało mi się odrzucić kilka rzeczy. Na szczęście, bo zawsze zamawiam zdecydowanie za dużo, a i tak jeszcze trochę planuję domówić w późniejszym terminie. A to w sumie mają być takie rzeczy bardziej podomowe, bo na shopping do galerii po coś porządniejszego też chcę jeszcze iść. 🙈

Wstawiłam pranie i udało mi się zrobić co nieco w pracy. On zadzwonił dopiero przed 18, że już jedzie. Poszłam sobie pod prysznic przed Jego przyjazdem, bo w planie była wreszcie realizacja tego SPA. On grał jak ja wszystko przygotowywałam, ubrałam się oczywiście odpowiednio i nawet - nie wiem po co - się pomalowałam. Zrobiłam Mu peeling całego ciała, łącznie z twarzą, maseczki, ponakremowywałam Go. Zeszło Nam dosyć długo. Cała się oczywiście przy okazji ujebałam w tym peelingu, łącznie z całą łazienką, ale trudno. Miał być fun i fajne spędzenie czasu. Dziękował i twierdził, że podobno było, ale jak łatwo się domyślić nawet mnie nie dotknął. Mimo że sama gdzieniegdzie Go nawet pocałowałam. I w sumie widziałam momentami, że patrzył na mój strój z zaciekawieniem. No, ale co z tego. Skończyliśmy dość późno, chcieliśmy jeszcze obejrzeć serial, bo dużo się dzieje, a jutro znów trzeba było ustawić budzik, więc później też oczywiście nic się nie wydarzyło.

K-9: Part 1

For this year's TF Big Bang event, I originally started off with a different idea than the one I ended up running with. However, I did write about 7500 words of this idea before giving it up as far too long for me to finish in the time available.

That said, I'm still interested in working on this fic, but I don't know when I'll have the time or energy. So I'm working on cleaning up what I do have of this story, and I'll serialize it here. If I end up writing any more, I'll add it here. (This post will contain the first instalment, as well as act as the index/masterpost for the whole thing.) In later instalments there will be illustrations, since this story idea was partially based on a toy. (And man, if I had a IDW2 MP-scaled Barricade figure, I'd be able to do a LOT of illos. 😄).

Part 1

"After we turn in our reports, did you want to come to the Rusty Strut with me and the others?" Barricade asked.

Prowl settled on his wheels. "No."

"Aww, come on." Barricade swerved slightly to chime his fender against Prowl's. "You never go out with us. I'm starting to think you don't like me."

As they reached the station, Prowl transformed and frowned at his partner. "The only time I went to the bar with you and the others, I somehow got stuck paying the entire tab," he said. He flicked his wings as he turned his back on Barricade. "I have no desire for a repeat of that situation."

Barricade caught up to Prowl at the curb. "That's because you were new! It's tradition!" He slung his arm around Prowl's shoulders. "I promise it won't happen again."

"Regardless, my answer is still no," Prowl said, shrugging out from under Barricade's arm. "It is simply an activity I have no interest in. I am only here to-"

With a scoff, Barricade threw up his hands. "I know, I know. I've heard you say it enough." He rolled his optics. "You're just here to do a job, not to make friends." He frowned at Prowl. "You know this isn't Praxus, right? There's more to life than just being a tool of the state. Things like making friends, or having fun." Marching ahead of Prowl, he glanced over his shoulder. "You should try it some time."

Prowl shook his head. It had been a big change for him, moving from Praxus to Iacon. He missed the order of Praxus, where everyone knew their role and rules were clearly defined and followed. But because of that order, being an Enforcer there was... Well, it was not very challenging. Iacon, on the other hand, was larger and more chaotic. Bots had much more freedom to do what they wanted, which also meant that the peace was harder to maintain. But it also meant that the work of keeping that peace was more interesting.

Moving from being a Praxus Enforcer to becoming a member of the Iacon Watch was a huge shift for Prowl, but he took his job seriously. And doing his job did not mean spending time with his fellow constables in bars or dancitrons.

As Prowl and Barricade walked into the precinct, the desk clerk held up a hand to the bot he was talking to. "Just a sec- Hey! Prowl! The Captain wants to see you in her office right away."

Barricade lifted a brow ridge at Prowl. "What did you do?"

"I did not do anything, except my job," Prowl said, mystified.

Barricade rolled his optics again. "Yeah, I know," he said. "I hope you're not getting canned. I really don't want to break in another partner."

"I will come back as soon as possible to finish filing our report," Prowl said as he turned towards the Captain's office.

"You better!" Barricade called after him. "You know I hate doing reports!"

Prowl wracked his processor for any clues as to why the Captain of the Inner Watch would want to see him. Discipline was usually left up to the sergeants, but Streetwise had not mentioned any shortcomings in Prowl's performance to him. As far as Prowl knew, he had done everything expected and to the required parameters. His regular reviews had always been glowing. He had no idea what the Captain could want with him.

Prowl paused just outside the Captain's office and knocked on the open door. "You asked to see me, sir?"

Captain Overdrive looked up from her work and waved him in. "Prowl! Yes, come in. Close the door, please." She gestured at the chair in front of him and watched as Prowl took a seat. "You've been with the Iacon Watch for quite a while, yes? Are you enjoying the work?"

From his seat, Prowl could plainly see his personnel file open on the Chief's desk. He suppressed a nervous flick of his sensor wings. "I have been with the Iacon Watch for a year. And I am enjoying the work, yes," he said. "It is more of a challenge for me than what I found in the Praxus Enforcers."

Overdrive made a thoughtful noise and flipped through a few screens in Prowl's file. "You've had nothing but commendations. Not a single complaint so far. That's surprising, considering your partner." She flashed Prowl a knowing smile, then leaned back in her chair. "And you said you enjoy the challenge?"

"Yes, sir."

"In what way?"

"The work is varied. On patrol, we see something different every day. Analyzing each situation and determining the best course of action possible within the confines of our mandate is appealing to me." Prowl lifted his sensor wings. "It is very different than the work I was doing in Praxus."

"I can understand that." The Captain nodded thoughtfully. "I know the crime rate in Praxus is very low. The Enforcers there seem mostly for show, honestly."

Prowl did not think that was a completely honest assessment of the work the Enforcers did there, but he did not see the point in arguing with the Captain. "Yes, sir," he said instead.

"Your record from Praxus is impressive. Wanting a new challenge does explain why you wanted to make the move to Iacon," Overdrive said. "But I can't help feeling that we aren't utilizing you in the best possible way."

"Sir?"

"Would you be interested in something a bit more challenging? Perhaps in one of our special units?"

Special units! If Prowl could possibly have sat up even straighter in his chair, he would have. "I would be interested, yes, depending on the unit. Some of them do extremely important, very interesting work."

Overdrive nodded and glanced back down at Prowl's file, tabbing through a few more screens. "Do you consider yourself a mechanimal bot?"

Prowl cycled his optics. "A... I am sorry, a what?"         

"Someone who likes mechanimals. You know, felinoids, zap ponies, wirehounds, whatever." Overdrive waved her hand at Prowl's file. "It says here you had an organic for a pet when you lived in Praxus."

"Yes... I did." Prowl's wings twitched as his processor churned through scenarios trying to figure out what his personal life had to do with being transferred to a special unit. "I had a flyt."

"Did you train it yourself?"

When Prowl's processor came up empty on a rational explanation for the Captain's line of questioning, he decided that the only thing to be done was answer the questions as best he could. "Yes, sir. I got her when she was just a hatchling and started training her right away. I needed to make sure she could be left alone in my flat without causing a disturbance." He dipped his wings when he realized why the fact that he had a pet flyt was in his file. "Keeping organics in your living quarters was considered irregular in Praxus, so I wanted to make certain there was no reason for anyone to file a complaint with the Garaging Authority."

"What sorts of things did you train it to do?"

"I trained her to come when she was called and to stay on her perch when commanded. Additionally, I trained her to sit on my shoulder, and to fly through a hoop that I had made for her. She could also do loops in midair, although she needed enough space to perform one." Prowl thought back to the tiny flyt, and how she would chirp and tilt her head when she wanted a little bit of extra skitter. Then he suppressed the emotional subroutines that always inserted themselves into his processor threads when he thought about Green. That wasn't useful right now. "And of course, to eliminate her waste in the proper receptacle."

"Oh, right. I guess that's something you have to think about with an organic." Overdrive laughed. "Mechanimals don't have that issue."

"No, sir."

"This flyt, did it obey your commands?"

"Yes, sir. She obeyed them very well, sir."

"How do you feel about wirehounds?"

Prowl felt off-balance. He could not figure out where the Captain's questions were leading to. "I do not know that I feel anything about them in particular."

"You're not afraid of them or anything like that, are you?"

"No, sir."

"Does your residence building have any rules about pets?"

"No, sir, except to ensure that they are well-behaved and do not cause a disturbance."

"Good." Overdrive blanked the datapad with Prowl's file on it and leaned forward, tenting her fingers together. "Prowl, I've been asked to find someone to head up Unit K-9, and I think you are the right bot for the job."

doing my monthly summary a little differently and just focusing on books :) now that I'm not in school, I read 8!!! and I want to give ratings for them :)

🌟 5 star books:

The Princess Bride (William Goldman) - I finally got to read the book behind one of my favourite movies!! The meta-author idea was really interesting and I do wish I could read the unabridged version 😅 A very fun read and I loved seeing how faithful the movie was to it.

Never Use Futura (Douglas Thomas) - I wrote a review here! A detailed look at the history and use of a typeface we see every day and probably don't realize.

Scythe (Neal Shusterman) - A reread, but still awesome! I had forgotten a lot of the second half of the book, so I'm excited to keep reading the series and have it feel like the first time again 😄

Animal Farm (George Orwell) - I can't lie, reading this was a bit depressing, but given the state of the world, I will say it is very important to read right now. If anything, the message of the book has only gotten stronger since its initial release.

⭐ 4 star books:

The Quiet Tenant (Clémence Michallon) - A light thriller, nothing overtly graphic or scary, but it pulled me right in! Told from the perspectives of 3 different women about the eventual capture of a serial killer. Fantastic use of second person for the perspective of the captive woman.

✨ 3 star books:

Matched (Ally Condie) - Another reread because I needed something distracting. The older I've gotten, the more flimsy this series feels, and the repetitive language got to me a bit this time, but I've always loved the concept of the Society and what it would be like if our entire lives were decided for us.

💫 2 star books:

Fearless (Lauren Roberts) - See my review here! Not worth the time to read, too repetitive, weak characters, unoriginal plot.

Save Me an Orange (Hayley Grace) - A short poetry book some people call "notes app poetry", and they're right. The overall message and themes are how do toxic romantic and parental love affect us and our ability to love ourselves. Like some of my other lower-scoring books, it's repetitive. I liked the last section on choosing to learn how to love yourself after being in an unhealthy relationship, but that's about it.

Hi!! My dad + brother caught a mouse in a mousetrap they set up today, and your blog inspired me to go fish it out of the garbage (it was tied up in a grocery bag first) and try my hand at skinning it!

It's pretty shoddy since I'm a complete beginner (and because of the thin rodent skin) but honestly? It was a lot more fun than I was anticipating lol :)

nice!! 😄 it feels weird to say, i feel like people would think we sound like a serial killer or whatever, but skinning is really fun lol. there's just something so satisfyingly about how the skin peels away from the muscle, or how a blade glides through the connective tissue.

now that you've dipped your toes in the water and enjoyed it, pretty soon you're going to be asking your family if you can put a roadkill squirrel you found in the freezer to work on next- then you're soaking your feet. slowly you'll take up a whole shelf in the freezer with critters to work on, until your family demands you buy your own freezer- you're wading around in the shallows. you'll get a big chest freezer thinking you'd never fill it up- you're going for a swim. but before you know it it's full, and then you happen to find a good deal on another one so now you have two big freezers that soon enough are both full- you're scuba diving. there's no more space for another freezer, but you can store pelts in a pickling solution instead, so you fill your bathroom with pickling tubs. they all end up filled to the brim, and it's your nightly ritual to stir them all so they don't get moldy. are you drowning at that point, or have you just become aquatic? who knows but you're having a good time :-) at least that's how it's gone for me lol

👥 - Kye and Ksenia's relationship most closely resembles my romantic/queer platonic (it's complicated) relationship. They are always ride or die with everything and will gladly see each other to hell and back

❔- Kye. He is such a good person in the most fundamental sense, but his actions tend to have consequences that hurt others around him but not him. I. E. He doesn't tend to get the consequences, they tend to be deflected (usually unintentionally) to his family/friends.

❓- The thing in the fire's Shadow. This entity is very cruel and they torture and play with their victims before they eventually burns them alive so that he can take their soul and the best part of their body (Think Eldritch horror meets serial killer). Despite this, their motives are extremely complex and the more victims that die the more you learn about them

❕- Ellis. He's so fun and nuanced, but writing a straight white boy who is extremely stereotypical nerd is so boring to write.

❗- The thing in the fire's Shadow. As said before, this character is so nuanced and I feel like I the writer learn more about them as I write a new short story about a victim.

😄 - Lindsey. She is just an absolute mess with so much going on all the time, but she is such a kind soul. Lindsey is broken in such an enduring way that I would have such an intimate bond with her.

🥰 - Pim. He is such a goober, no other way to describe him. His charm is inescapable and he always manages to make someone laugh with a poorly timed joke. He's excellent at breaking tension, and is unconventionally attractive.

🍕 - Kye. He is a passionate gamer, and he loves his friends so dearly. His favorite thing is a walk in the woods, alone, after dark.

🎭 - The thing in the fire's Shadow. I really don't understand this character, and sometimes when I write him I feel like I'm watching someone else type his story out.

⚔️ - Kye. Whenever Kye gets upset he shuts down and goes nonverbal. He won't speak again until he has found a logical and practical solution to the problem/source of his frustration.

😭 - Ksenia. Whenever she/they (pronouns are weird) gets really sad she tends to have minor psychological breakdowns that range from emotional turnoff to manic (not sure that's the right word) sobbing.

❤️ - Pim. He cares for people through excessive physical touch and constant words of affirmation. Whenever his friends engage in negative self talk he will aggressively correct them by pointing out all the wonderful things about them.

🎉 - Ellis. Whenever he is excited he is bouncy, full of energy, and has a radiant smile. You'll never hear him talk about being excited, but you will always be able to tell.

💩 - Now that's a personal question! If you want to find an exact answer, you can read the books and chapters as they come out, but far too many is a general answer. And yes. I love all my Internet friends and I'm glad to be here.

👁️ - Kye. He's based off of my friend Joseph (who unfortunately is straight because he would make a great lover). It's a very loose interpretation of him, but I think it captures his soul so I made a note about it in the foreword.

🦴 - Kye, Ksenia, Pim. All of them will proudly face death standing up, not on their knees. Whenever they see someone die or hear about it, they go into a silent stupor for days or weeks until reality hits them and they actually begin to move forward. (No spoilers for the novel/book (If it ever gets finished))

ohhhhh i wouldnt say im a big fan of shoujo but i do read some once in awhile, i like it when its romance plus comedy!! first one that comes to mind is gekkan shoujo nozaki kun 🥰🥰 i love that one so much and wotakoi, very cute love and being an otaku 🤣. I mainly read weekly shounen jump!! like one piece, bnha, jjk, etc. OHH and since i see you like sports anime 👀 theres one thats sports and shoujo called ao no hako that im reading , if you ever heard of it, it's about a girl that plays (1/2)

I know it's been like a month since this post OP u probably already did your presentation.... but I still want to share my experience with MLP! 😄

So I want to start off by clarifying that I have always had a special interest for ANYTHING horror since I was a child. Slashers and villains, monsters and unspeakable horrors (especially if very colorful) have always caught my attention more than anything else and brought me comfort since I can remember.

So obviously, during the peak of my creepypasta phase- you bet I was absolutely enamoured with Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory. Hilariously enough when I was a kid I thought MLP, as in the show itself, was just for little girls (I had never watched it until recently in my 20's, and if I said I did when I was a kid I was likely lying to seem like I knew about something that I assumed most knew about as to not seem stupid; I went with what most thought of the show at the time) and then as soon as there were creepypastas about MLP my brain was like "hell yeah. This is the shit. Now me liking ponies is 100% justified. Not like the, ugh, ORIGINAL girly content🙄 sure they might still be horses with funny markings on their butts but now they're SCARY horses with funny markings on their butts. This fixation on the creepypastas around MLP eventually drove me to making my first OC, which was, at first, a relatively wholesome and innocent alicorn but when I entered my edgy art phase due to irl issues I fell down the rabbit hole of making my poor character based off of Pinkie Pie's sadistic character in Cupcakes and she became a serial killer that killed just for fun and her cutiemark was all scribbled out because for me it was #deep.

Looking back now I really do think that back then on the inside I really wanted to enjoy the MLP series as it was but was too scared/ashamed to actually watch and wanting to buy merch of it. So instead I looked for an excuse to tip toe around it without actually watching the original thing because it was 'childish', and since I loved horror and, in a way, it was considered to be something people took more seriously because it was 'scary', at the time I think I saw it as the perfect opportunity.

Now let's go back to the present, where I finally actually watched the show itself after making friends with a brony, seeing them enjoy the show as it was and making OCs about it made me think "what the hell I might as well dip my toes into the forbidden pool I've been avoiding since I was 13." And I'm so glad I did because you would not believe how satisfying it felt to finally watch this fucking thing. It felt like drinking water at three AM.

Just indulging in something that was only colorful and whimsical. Without horror being the main focus. No 'double meaning' behind those happy faces and colors. It brought me joy and scratched that itch in my brain that's been there for years.

I'm not sure how to describe what exactly calls to me about the show? It's a mixture of a lot of things. Before I ever watched it, it was definitely the colors and character design. Rainbow Dash specifically. I LOVE her look. Always have. Her cutiemark is one of my absolute favourites for some reason. I want to get it tattooed on me someday. Her character stands out to me more than any other of the Mane 6 probably because of the rainbow hair. There's just something about the abundance in colors that's almost hypnotic to me. I want to know all about it, I just need it. I'm not sure if that's an autism thing but I wouldn't be surprised lol. Vivid colors, especially if the character has many, are always what catches my eye first before anything else visually.

Now that I have seen the show, I enjoy it for many more other reasons of course. I relate to it. The 'moral lessons' at the end of each episode in the first seasons were genuinely helpful as someone who greatly struggles with social stuff and is very anxious. I get to finally learn and know about Rainbow Dash's character which I've only ever speculated and theorized about since I was a kid when I hadn't yet watched the show. My favourite episode with her is the one where she has to stay at the hospital a few days and becomes obssessed reasing the Daring-Do books, yet tries to hide her newfound interest from her friends because she doesn't want to admit she likes something as 'lame' as reading compared to her love for doing extreme sports- it really made me feel seen given my whole joker backstory centered around avoiding watching MLP when younger because it was 'childish' compared to my love for horror movies ejdnsnsb

I think RD in particular has appealed to me most instead of like, the whole show? At the end of the day she's the backbone of what peaked my interest for MLP. I loved her. Even before getting into the creepypastas I was hypnotized by her character design and rainbow mane in particular. I'd rewatch My Little Dashie on repeat hoping one day maybe I'd find my own rainbow horse in a box, which'd also give me an excuse to finally watch the show so I'd learn what to do for her to grow up to be The Rainbow Dash lol.

Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon and Discord may be my current favourites right now, but RD has a special place in my heart I can't deny.

When i was a kid i collected a ton of littlest pet shop toys which i still have! I wanna make them into a crown or display them in a fun way because they're so cute and kitschy. I have a little koala that i collected stickers for and sent in to receive 😄

The subject i did best in was language arts i think. I like creative writing and english comes pretty easily to me so it wasn't as stressful as other subjects. I liked it better than art class often because i couldnt do my own thing in art.

I think I'm a 'get a big chunk of work done at once but never finish' kind of person. 😶 Generally i prefer to get things done in one sitting.
