Painter's Block (Twice: Chaeyoung)
genre: fluff - word count: 663 authors note: for @jihyosmole and @serpendity-stuff that also requested 15!! #teamchaeyoungsdimpleloversforthewin
Tumblr media
As soon as you stepped foot into your apartment, the smell of the food your girlfriend had cooking welcomed you. There was some music playing and you smiled as you laid eyes on Chaeyoung drawing in the living room.
“Hey, Chae.” You walked over to the girl, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “How are you doing?”
Chaeyoung shot you a tight-lipped smile and went back to focusing on the canvas in front of her. “I’m good. You?”
“Don’t lie.” You held her chin in your hand and smiled when she leaned into your touch. Poking at her cheek, you raised an eyebrow. “Your dimple usually shows when you’re actually smiling. What’s wrong?”
“I’ve just been stuck with this one.” She kissed your hand and motioned to the drawing she was working on – it was simply some colours fused together, forming a background, but she seemed unhappy with it. “I feel like, a bit inspiration-less?”
“Like painter’s block?” you questioned “If that’s even a thing.”
This made her giggle and your heart warmed at the sight of the dimple that you had missed in her previous smile. “I don’t know, but if so, then yeah definitely like that.” She went into the kitchen and fixed you a plate of food, leading you to the seat in front of her easel as she handed it to you. “I think you can be my inspiration, though.”
As you took a bite of the food your girlfriend made, you squinted at her. “Are you trying to sway me to be your model with food?”
Chaeyoung peeked her head from the side of the easel with a grin on her face and a pencil already propped behind her ear. “Yup.” She spoke, plopping the ‘p’. “But I wouldn’t have to sway you, right?” the girl pouted.
“Oh,” you raised an eyebrow. “What makes you say that?”
“You’d help me, cause you looove me.” She sang and disappeared behind the easel again. You laughed at that – she had a point, of course.
“But I just got home, at least let me freshen up first?” You weakly protested. “I look rough.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” your girlfriend smiled. “You look stunning, as you always do.” With one more peak from behind the easel she smiled warmly at you. “Maybe even more so today. I love it when you wear your hair like that.”
You blushed slightly and gave up on the protesting as every time you’d open your mouth to do so, Chaeyoung would loudly shush you with a chuckle. What were you supposed to do against that incredibly ingenious and bulletproof defence? So you just sat quietly, enjoying the food your girlfriend had made you as the music played and she softly sang along. From time to time, she’d have you adjust your position or just gape at you followed by a mention of how pretty you looked.
You always loved these kinds of moments with her.
After a while, Chaeyoung stepped back from the canvas with a smile on her face and arms folded. Also known as the universal sign that she was done with her work, and satisfied. Curiously, you walked over and marvelled at her creation. She had stepped out of the comfort zone of her usual art style and made a somewhat realistic drawing of you, plate of food in your hand, hunched over in the seat she put you in with a spoon in your mouth on the background she previously drew.
“Wow, Chaeyoung.” You gasped and took a closer look. “It’s so beautiful.”
“You’re so beautiful.” She said. She snaked her arms around your waist and rested her head against your shoulder. “The drawing could never turn out less than perfect if you model for me. Thank you, baby.”
Sheepishly you grinned at your girlfriends words. “That’s the sixth time you’ve complimented me today.”
“And definitely not the last.” Chaeyoung laughed and planted a sweet kiss on your lips. “I love you.”

#13 and #28 please? also, hi!
Hi!!
13. Multichapter fics or one shots?
Eeeuuugghh I honestly can’t choose ;-; there’s pros and cons to both, for sure. Hey, Isn’t This Easy was supposed to be just a one and done thing, as you can tell from my author’s notes at the end of the first chapter, but the positive reception made me want to complete the story and well
with everything I wanted to do with it, it ended up being 6 chapters total lol. I wish I could just write some of my AU ideas as simple one-shots so that I can move from idea to idea faster, but sometimes they just grow out of my control and y’all get a multichap 😭. So I don’t really have a preference. The deciding factor is how much I want to explore within certain AUs/ideas, and whether that will fit in a one-shot or if it’ll have to be a multichap. (Also I hope this was a coherent answer lmao)
28. Share a piece from one of your current WIPs!
Sure! Here’s a little something from Chapter 6 of Hey, Isn’t This Easy, since it’s taking me a while to finish it:

Thank you for the questions! Hope you like the snippet :D

THE TASTE ON YOUR LIPS | hirai momo.
HELLO!! @serpendity-stuff I was your secret Santa, I hope you enjoy this, and merry christmas!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— WARNINGS: fluff, momo ate some of your pizza 💔
You always stared at the stars wistfully, eyes alight with a twinkling shine.
In ways, they vaguely emphasised the roles each soul had in the universe, but instead, a serene version not plagued by the immorality of sticky and tarred mindsets.
Regardless, each star had its own shine, even without the effect of amplified constellations.
You suspected twice was the constellation you held a role within, all prominent within their own rights; but a beacon of solace altogether.
A buzz softly fizzed against your leg, and your awed stare broke reluctantly from the window before you; turning instead to the vigorously humming phone left discarded on your pillow.
“Hello?” You hummed, voice calm and soft.
“I’m outside,” a voice abruptly croaked, “open up— the pizzas getting cold.” You heard Momos voice crackle from the speaker. You slightly chuckled at the whine she let out; no doubt pouting as she shuffled the sleeves of her shirt to generate heat.
“Okay, okay, I’m running, I’m running,”
You huffed slightly, grimacing at the slight ache in your legs. You couldn’t have said how long you had been staring through your window, but you were certain it must’ve been a while.
“Well, didn’t they just send the prettiest delivery girl.” You hummed, opening the wooden door widely for your grumbling best friend to walk through, her cheeks rosy and pigmented.
“Less talk, more eat.” She glared faintly, composed of hunger and humor. You shook your head, rolling your eyes with a small smile.
“Me or food, who are you choosing?” Momo frowned, squinting as she gave you a once-over. Her eyes comically darted between you and the discarded pizza box she almost protectively hovered above.
“Food. You can’t survive without food.”
You gasped theatrically, a hand clutching onto your heart, and knees buckling dramatically beneath you, making you grip onto your table for stability.
“Momo. . . How - how could you?” You brokenly whispered, falling in a heap on the cold tiled floor.
“Get up, you big toddler.” She laughed slightly, kicking your side lightly. “I’ll eat all of this without you.” She motioned to the closed box on the table.
“I don’t think so, peaches.” You quickly jumped up, practically diving onto the box in-front of her. You opened it quickly, humming at the smell of the pizza, when you were with momo you always shared a certain pizza; as a sort of compromise between the two of you.
“Momo.”
She winced.
“Why is it missing two slices?”
The Japanese woman fumbled slightly, a petrified expression painting her features.
“I- uh- those greeds! They ate some of our pizza, we should sue.” She squeaked out uncertainly, her cheeks suspiciously puffed, as she shook her head slightly.
“Open your mouth.”
“Mmph.” She shook her head again, lips pinched together.
Wordlessly, you shifted in your place to face her, and abruptly pounced on her. A small squeal escaped her, and the two of you shuffled around on the thin sofa you sat on.
“Open—“
“No—“
Finally, the two of you stopped your movement, now aware of the position the both of you were in. You were looming over Momo slightly, legs straddling her.
Momo gulped loudly, swallowing the remains of the pizza she had eaten. The action pulled your attention, and your eyes flickered go her lips.
The two of you remained silent, engulfed with the heavy breaths falling from eachothers mouths. Heat fanned against your cheeks in patters, scented with faint mint and banana.
Her nose was a hair away from your own, and the vaguely frozen feel of it was quite the contrast from the warm air.
“That was the ultimate betrayal, you know.” You whispered, and you felt Momos gaze fall onto your lips.
“How about we kiss and make up?” She softly spoke back. Shakily, you nodded, breath hitching.
“How about it.” You hummed, and within a second Momos lips were firmly against yours.

a/n: wrote this out of nowhere just now, uh its kind of a mess and definitely filled with mistakes ;-; also @serpendity-stuff (i hope you don’t mind me tagging you) this isn’t your request exactly, im working on that separately !! but i figured you’d want to be tagged in this momo fic. hope you like it :]
Tumblr media
“Listen, all I’m asking is for you to give me this?”
You were barely making any sense now.
For hours you paced the small apartment you called home, carefully and cautiously panning what you wanted to convey. Each argument was formulated to perfection, even as far as counterarguments to potential rebuttals. Everything you wanted to say was laid at the forefront of your mind. However, the words that were on the tip of your tongue seemed to have vanished. Instead, you very quickly turned into a stuttering mess, struggling to string sentences together. Having lost sight of your points, you could feel yourself closing up.
It didn’t help that Momo was completely quiet during all of this.
In fact, she sat facing you on your unmade bed. Her posture is open, relaxed even, with a matching look of nonchalance. No, nonchalance meant she was indifferent, it means that she doesn’t care, that she couldn’t be bothered. No, this was a look of understanding, of waiting. A carefully constructed mask of neutrality, to allow her to listen and analyze your every action, a simple ruse to hide her actual feelings of concern.
Her behaviour only worsened your restlessness.
“Listen, listen,” feeling suffocated under her stare, you stood up and moved away from the bed. Momo leaned forward with you but you turned away from her, even if to only escape her gaze for a moment. “I know how much you do for me. You’ve done so much and you keep giving and giving and I can’t ask for anything more. I can’t and I don’t want to, I feel like such a burden—”
“But you’re not a burden—!”
“I know! I know that you think I’m not a burden,” you said, catching her gaze again. “But I feel like one, okay?”
Momo only nodded, eyes blinking slowly as she moved to the edge of the bed. It was hard to notice, but you still caught her lips twitching. You know this is difficult for her, that you are difficult, so you don’t understand why she says nothing.
The suffocating sensation was getting overwhelming; you had so much to say to her, of what you wanted and of what you were going through. You wanted to tell her of every thought running through your mind, of every branching thought that diverges from the original and then some more. You wanted to explore every spiral causing you distress and pick it apart with her at your side. But that was the reason, you couldn't tell her anything at all. What will she think if you bore your heart to her? Worse, if you bore your mind to her? Will she really stay, does she really care? Or are all her words empty promises waiting to be broken the second adversity hits?
“I just need some time and space to clear my head. I am telling you I can fix this,” you didn’t miss how Momo’s lips twitched again.
“And I’m telling you I’m here for you,” Momo said, inching forward. “We’re in a relationship, that means we’re here together. It’s okay to depend on me a little, I can help, I want to help—!”
“How could you help me? What could you possibly do,” you stopped yourself from saying anything further as Momo’s mask began to fall. No, this was not what you had intended at all. You weren’t supposed to be hurting her. “I have to fix this, okay? It has to be me, I just need space—”
“Asking for space and pushing people away are two entirely different things,” Momo’s voice, often low, was raised for the first time. “Every single time, you ask for space. That’s what you say but you just push people away. And I experience that firsthand every day!”
You shook your head as you took steps back, but Momo moved with you, finally rising from the bed.
“I’m not here to fix you and I don’t want to fix you and I’m definitely not here to solve your problems. I just want to be there for you, I just,” Momo sighed as she pulled at her hoodie, shaking off the feeling of discomfort. “Maybe I’m not saying it right, but just allow me to be there by your side.”
“My job, this house, this suburb, it’s all suffocating. And you, you’re always there! Always okay! Always fine! And I’m—I don’t want you to be there! I don’t want you to see me like this!” The words were leaving your mouth at the speed of lightning, even if they were the exact opposite of what you initially meant to say. “What I need is space because you are suffocating!”
The realization dawned on you just as you finished the sentence. It was as if time stilled because neither of you moved. A myriad of emotions passed through Momo’s face but you couldn’t really tell, your vision was blurry. Momo was the first to break away from the paralysis. In reaction, you flinched back before completely turning away from her sprinting for the door. Momo called after you, but you were breathing so hard you didn’t process that she was still trying to console you.
It was your feet that carried you forward, though the destination was nowhere in sight. All you knew was the calming breeze against your face, soothing your racing thoughts. The sensation of suffocation lifted slightly as if the weight of someone’s foot had been removed from your chest. Simply put, you could finally breathe.
However, it was difficult to ignore the other feelings gnawing slowly at you. The itchiness in the back of your throat. The weight behind your eyelids, pulling them shut. The sharp pain at the base of your neck, climbing all the way to the crown of your head. An unfathomable pressure building up with no path of release. Anything undergoing such force would implode, destroying itself at a chance for freedom.
So why couldn’t you cry?
Anything, you wanted anything to ebb away the visceral frustration you felt deep underneath in your skin. You wanted to kick and scream and cry until you threw up. You wanted to wail until you lost your voice and until your throat was dry and coarse and until you got sick of shedding tears. You would do anything to feel everything at once, just for a moment only to feel nothing at all the next.
Yet you couldn’t bring yourself to cry
no, your body wouldn’t allow you the relief.
Unable to carry yourself anymore, you took a seat at the bus stop. Only in your thin loungewear, the chill from the glass behind you seeped into your back. This was the next closest thing to calming you. Before any thoughts of how you’d come here with no phone, money, or house key, you decided to just rest your eyes for a bit. This late in the evening, that too in your secluded suburb, this was not the wisest of decisions. But you weren’t making any good choices tonight.
Perhaps an hour or two had passed, but that had to be the most restful sleep you’d had in weeks. Granted your neck was aching horridly and you rolled it twice before gaining strength again. What did startle you was the enormous coat tucked underneath your chin, but from the familiar scent of the softener, you knew who it belonged to.
“Hey,” you said, not daring to look at the person sitting at your side. There was no sound except for rustling plastic and the rumbling of passing vehicles. Dragging, one hand down your face, you sighed. “How long was I out for?”
“Two hours.” Momo rarely answered in such a manner, so shortly. You didn’t really have any excuse for the argument that you started. “I found you here, knocked out. Luckily, you were safe.”
You wanted to say something, even as far as opening your mouth, but nothing but mist left you. Taking your silence, Momo reached into the plastic bag she was holding and pulled out a sandwich before handing it over to you. Murmuring your gratitude, you began nibbling at the crust. Momo had started to eat her own sandwich as well.
It was surreal, to say the least.
To be seated at a bus station not far from your home, nearing midnight. Watching the empty roads and dark windows of small shops and flickering lamp posts. Munching at bread crusts for dinner with Momo by your side. The sight must be odd, but it didn't feel awkward at all. It felt right, normal even. Feeling such a way after the fight you’ve had, after the words you said, is what stops you from actually eating this meal.
Gaze dead set on a lamp post right across the street, you started, “Momo, I’m so—”
“Tomorrow,” was all your girlfriend said. The itch at the back of your throat from two hours ago seemed to crawl its way back up until Momo’s hand reached for yours. With no hesitancy, you took it. “We’ll figure it out tomorrow
for now, I just want to be here with you.”
It was your turn to face her.
Momo had barely eaten her own sandwich. Her enormous hoodie along with her flowing black hair covered most of her face, but you could just about make out her puffy eyes. Biting her lower lip, she glanced at you.
After all the things you've said tonight, it was almost relieving to agree with her. When you nodded, a small smile graced her lips as she tugged you towards her. As if it belongs there, your head found its place on her shoulder. You weren’t sure how long you stayed there, holding onto each other at the bus stop, shrouded in comfortable silence. All you knew was that tomorrow wouldn’t arrive until you two fell asleep.

angst scenario with mina
I will always be here for you. (Twice: Mina)
genre: angst - word count: 1492
content warning: alludes to anxiousness and depression. Nothing explicitly described, but if you're a bit more sensitive to issues like these it might be best to avoid this one.
author's note: you are loved. Times might get tough, but tomorrow might be a brighter day. If you're having a bad day, my inbox is open to you anytime. I appreciate you all. Have a good one.
Tumblr media
You always felt like you knew Mina. Maybe even better than you knew yourself. She was not a woman of many words, but you felt like you two never needed too many words to understand each other. You just got her, but lately this had been changing.
Your girlfriend was never really the extraverted type. Everyone that knew her, knew she was a bit of a homebody. It was amongst the many things that you loved about her. The best part of your day was usually coming home from a long day and finding her there waiting for you with a set of matching pyjama’s ready for you both, some snacks and a collection of old movies, games, or whatever. As long as you both were together, cuddled up together under the covers, you were happy. You both were.
But things haven’t really been the same. And you felt guilty for not noticing before.
Maybe it started with her regularly texting you to pick up groceries on your way back home from wherever, eventhough the grocery store was right around the corner. Maybe it started when she stopped being active on social media or avoiding her phone as a whole. Or perhaps when she stopped hanging out with her friends much. Or when she’d sometimes sleep in unusually long or stay in bed all day. Or when you’d come home at night and she was already lying in bed with the lights off
but you just knew she wasn’t asleep.
It all finally came to a head on an evening in which you and your girlfriend would go on a date night. Although you didn’t know what was wrong exactly (or the extent of it), you did notice that Mina hadn’t been acting like herself lately so you wanted to take her out. You knew that going on a date somewhere busy probably wasn’t the best idea, so you opted for taking her to a drive-in theatre as you’d both be in the comfort of your car, together. Just the two of you.
As soon as you can home from work that day, you started changing into date-appropriate clothes. You had expected (or maybe wished for) Mina to be halfway done as well by that time, but you couldn’t genuinely say you were surprised when you turned on the light in your bedroom to find her still laid up under the covers.
“Hey, Mina.” You whispered in case she was sleeping. You nudged her and she hummed. “Baby, we’re going out today, remember?” Once again she hummed, but didn’t move a muscle. “Are you going to get ready?”
The room was silent, the tension thick. You reached over and caressed her cheek, not really knowing what more to say.
“I don’t know if I can go out today.” She spoke. Her voice was soft as always, but she sounded so
sad, broken even.
“Mina
” you started.
“I’m sorry.” She interrupted. You sighed and shook your head. You couldn’t care less about the drive-in theatre. All that mattered to you was Mina and what was going on with her.
You took a seat on the floor next to her, looking her eye to eye when you spoke, “Mina
are you okay? For the last few weeks
you haven’t really been you.” Your girlfriend had no tears, but her sniffing broke your heart. She closed her eyes and bit her lip, as if not wanting to speak.
Not wanting to force her to say anything you simply sat there and planted a kiss on her forehead. When you looked at her again, tears had rolled down her cheeks and yours fell freely as well. Quickly you wiped both hers and yours away.
“I don’t know
” her voice broke when she spoke those words. “Things have just been hard lately. Doing things has been hard lately
and I know it’s childish-“
“Hey, listen to me.” you immediately interrupted. “Your feelings are valid, okay? Nothing about the way you feel is ‘childish’, baby. I know it might feel that way, but that’s just your mind trying to convince you of things that aren’t always true, okay?”
Your girlfriend nodded through her sobs and you embraced her.
“Now, let’s try again without labelling it with such words, okay? You said doing things is hard. Can you explain what you mean?”
Once again Mina nodded. To your surprise, she sat up in the bed and wiped away her tears. Immediately you went to sit opposite from her, legs crossed, with her hands in yours.
“I don’t know
I-“ she cut herself off with a frustrated sigh.
“Take your time.” You smiled.
“I don’t really know how to explain it
Going outside, even for groceries or something, it feels like such a task. I feel like I can’t do it.” She explained staring at her fingers intertwined with yours. “I can’t even reply to messages
it’s just
”
“A lot?” you finished for her.
“yeah,” she softly said, quietly crying again. “I’m sorry.”
“Please, Mina,” you held her chin and made her look up at you, all the while trying your hardest to hold back tears of your own. “There’s absolutely no reason to apologize. Like I said, whatever you feel is valid.”
“I know, I’m sorry” she nodded. You gave her a slight smile at her slip-up, which thankfully made her chuckle at least a bit. “Maybe you can take one of your friends to the theatre tonight, I-“
“aaaaabsolutely not,” you playfully sing-songed, making her chuckle again. “I’m not leaving my beautiful girlfriend’s side tonight, you understand?” She nodded and smiled, finally, thankfully. As you wiped away the tears on her cheeks once more, you admired her. “There’s that smile I love.”
She leaned into your touch and your heart felt heavy. Knowing she was having a hard time was difficult. You didn’t know what best to do or say to make her feel okay again. You honestly didn’t even know if it would be simply solved by you doing something or saying some magic words. But whatever it took, you would do it.
“But even if it’s hard to smile, Mina, I love you.” You honestly spoke. “I love you when you’re happy. I love you when you’re sad. If things are easy, and even if they are the hardest they’ve ever been, I love you. And that means I will always be there for you, you hear me?”
Your girlfriend nodded and hugged you tightly. As you ran your fingers through her hair, you hoped she could read your mind and therefore know just how much and how deeply you meant all that you said.
“And not only me. Your family, your friends
you’re so dear to all of us. Wherever you go, wherever that mind of you takes you, we’re there for you, okay?” you felt her nod.
“I love you. Thank you.” The sound of her voice was muffled against your shirt, but you could somehow hear her smile through speaking.
“Anytime, anywhere, I’m here, but promise me one thing?” you leaned back to look your girlfriend in the eye. “Whatever you feel, even if it’s hard to describe
will you try to share with me? If you’re not feeling okay, will you tell me?”
She nodded. “I will try.”
“Thank you, baby.” You said and planted a kiss on her cheek. If you could tell her you loved her a million more times, you would, but you didn’t want to overwhelm the girl. “Would you like to be alone for a bit? I can go fix us some dinner.”
At your words, her grasp on your hands tightened. “Please stay.”
“Good. I secretly didn’t want to leave anyway.” You smiled at her. You crawled under the covers with her and wrapped your arms around her waist, nuzzling into her as she melted into you. “You’re so comfy, I love it.”
She giggled and in your mind you did a small victory dance at that.
Thinking of a million more ways to make her smile, you settled on, “Maybe later you can show me the ropes of that video game you were talking about some time ago?”
As expected, this made her wiggle a bit in excitement.
“Dork.” You chuckled in adoration. “I’m gonna beat you at it, though.”
“I would like to see you try.” She quipped. This, in turn, made you smile.
Today was a hard day and more of these might come, but you would be here through it all. The best days, the worst ones, the fast days, the slow ones – all of them would be good ones as long as you could hold her the way you were, as long as Mina knew how much you loved her.
In the morning, you’d talk with her. Talk about what steps could be taken for her to feel better. It wasn’t going to be an easy road, but whenever she’d need it, she would have your hand to hold.

#4, #10, #13, #37, and #43
4. At what age did you realize Santa was not real?
What do you mean Santa isn't real? :)
10. What is the biggest lie you ever told?
This one
13. Do you have any tattoos? If yes what do they mean?
Sadly not, but I'm planning to get some soon. I plan to get a matching tattoo with my mom along my rib and the idea of some small tattoos on my fingers is also really appealing to me, but i'd have to figure out what I'd get first. Lastly, I've wanted my right forearm tattooed for the longest time and I'm absolutely in love with the style of a specific tattoo artist (@pilgrim_ttt on IG) so figuring something out for that tattoo with him would be a dream (but he is all the way in Bali)
37. Have you ever played a game involving stripping?
I haven't, but that sounds really fun (i should get on that, asap)
43. What countries have you travelled to?
I've travelled to some countries within Europe (Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, France, The UK and Greece) and outside of EU I've been to Nigeria, but I look forward to adding a lot more countries to the list as soon as I'm done with/free from the shackles of uni (such as Bali to go get that tattoo)

what’s your biggest fear and why?
such a good question, uhmm
I’d say losing my loved ones would be a big one, just because it’s so unpredictable. Not even necessarily only in the big way, but also in the way of realising that you were once good friends with someone that you’ve somehow, someway, completely lost touch with. It’s sad

#10, #15, and #21 :3 also, good morning!
gooooood day! have a good one :)
10. How many unfinished works are in your drafts
...........10 unfinished, some are in there that are finished but will never see the light of day until they get some refining or are re-written 😂
15. Angst or fluff
oooh, good one. I'd say my preference depends on my mood? Fluff is cute and i always really enjoy writing it because it comes the easiest to me. However, if i have an idea for angst that i really like i get totally wrapped up in it. Hmmm.. okay i'll say angst because although i really really like fluff, i'm a bit more passionate about angst
21. Do you listen to music as you write?
Yeah, definitely! Although, i must say the only times i'm not listening to music are when i'm talking to someone, sleeping or watching something...
But when i write, i try to listen to music that fits whatever i'm writing :) For example, when I wrote Can't Love You Anymore, i remembered I listened to the requested song and Gone Girl by Obongjayar on repeat from start to finish because they fit what i was writing lol
