They sure do! Sagittarius A* in particular has high alcohol tolerance, he loves his raspberry rum and croissants!

Sgr A*, situated in the heart of the Milky Way, 27,000 light-years distant from Earth. This marks the first instance of observation in polarized light, unveiling the presence of robust and structured magnetic fields emanating in a spiral pattern from the periphery of Sgr A*.

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) combined collaborative radio data from an international array over 4 different continents to create the first ever polarized-light image of Sagittarius A*, Milky Way's very own supermassive black hole, or at least an image the dusty/gassy/plasma accretion disk around it. The image looks cool as hell, but also reveals an organized pattern in the magnetic field similar to the one found in M87*, a thousand-times-more-massive supermassive black hole in the distant M87 galaxy.

The Next Gen EHT plans to collect these images over months and years to create black hole videos. Today was another great day for science!

because of his quiet and reserved nature, and also years in the military spent obeying commands and rarely having the opportunity to express himself, simon riley became an observer. a listener.

so when he met you, those personality traits became more apparent. it’s not like he had much to say, anyway. he barely had time for hobbies or any other activity that was not connected with the military. his life rotated in the same cycle: going on for missions, coming back to you.

and when he came back – starving for an actual home-cooked meal instead of something remotely representing food pressed into cans and plastic packs – he sat you down on the opposite side of the table with a simple “tell me, lovie.”

he would shove a spoonful of food into his mouth one after another, groaning at the delicious taste while you rambled his ears off, lifting his head up every now and then for a nod – an indication that he was listening and you shouldn’t stop.

truly, he never wanted you to stop.

you went out for a shopping spree with your friends? amazing. tell him what you got before you show him later. tell him what you left in the store and why. tell him what you had for lunch. tell him if you liked it.

get distracted when you remember something else. switch the topics every second and forget to finish the previous one. tell him about all the movies and tv shows you watched while he was gone, and how you couldn’t stand that one character.

he loves hearing your voice and how your hands and body move dramatically when you speak, even if he has no idea what the actual fuck you’re saying. there is no such thing as “too much information” for simon riley.

at the end of the day, all he wanted for you is to worry about the mundane stuff. your shoes didn’t match your outfit? yeah.

you worry about that while he takes care of everything else and makes your life easier because he fuckin loves you <3

I wonder how badly it hurts Steve, once he wakes up in the hospital and gathers his bearings and has it explained to him exactly what happened after he dropped the shield and gave up the fight and fell from that ship in the sky.

I wonder how badly it hurts him, the absolutely gutting irony of it. That he had taken a seemingly fatal fall and yet, here he is alive and recovering because Bucky had followed him down. Bucky, who had renounced the memory of his own name, who had looked at Steve with blank, shuttered eyes and had driven a metal fist repeatedly into his face, but who had still chosen to dive out of the sky after him and drag him to safety.

I wonder how badly it hurts after Nat gives him that file and he discovers exactly what had been done to Bucky to turn him into a weapon. The realization that he could have prevented it if he had only gone in after him. How badly it must hurt him knowing that even a Bucky stripped of his identity and forcibly outfitted with a new one, implanted only with memories of violence, had chosen to follow him down and pull him out. How badly it must hurt knowing that even when he had nothing else left, there had still been something intrinsic—some instinct or muscle memory that even Hydra’s very worst couldn’t strip him of—that drove Bucky to follow him down and save him.

I wonder how badly it hurts to bear witness to the weapon Hydra forged in the hellfire to which his failure doomed his best friend, and to have to live afterwards with the knowledge that even brainwashed and broken, Bucky did not fail him. How badly it must hurt knowing that Bucky did for him precisely what he did not do for Bucky.
