missing being on here greatly atm 😥 this was the time of year back in 2018 when i joined the fandom and every time this part of the year rolls around i’m reminded of that and my early days 😓 feeling sentimental about growing up and adulthood a bit heavily this weekend. i really want to write but there’s a future ahead of me and i’m spending it instead knee-deep in research statements and grad school applications (which is incredibly exciting). sometimes i do mourn those moments years ago though!!! 😢 hope you’re all doing well, staying both safe and warm and happy as we can all be! 💛

sometimes i see what people think actually happened on the show and it makes me pause and blink. because where r u getting that from. i don’t mean headcanons or hee hee ha ha or playing with fanon i mean the Actual Events That Happened. i think we need to start citing our sources.

the shannoneddie breakup scene will forever live rent free in my brain. eddie starting his speech about how much he loves their marriage by comparing life to a vat of molten chocolate bc it drags you down but it's also warm and sweet. the "i guess i just needed a sign" "i'm not pregnant" bombshell. eddie chugging half his drink after said bombshell. shannon being like "gotta be a relief, right 😅" as if eddie didn't just talk mostly about how much he loves being a dad instead of being a husband while talking about their marriage. the song in the background. the implication due to the episode theme that shannon died bc she wanted a divorce. just wild

“There was a woman in the crosswalk,” the driver tells them, panicked. “Is she okay?”

“Buck, what do we got?” Eddie asked, his attention focused on the driver as he checked her vitals and put a C-collar on her. “Buck?” he asked again.

Buck was staring at the crosswalk, not moving. Eddie stood up to get a look at Chim and Hen’s patient. 

“Eddie, Eddie no,” he heard Buck say before he saw the yellow floral shirt. He was moving before he knew it, running towards Shannon, Buck trying to hold him back, his patient completely forgotten. Chimney got in front of him, holding a hand to his chest to keep him from rushing the scene. 

“Buck, go help with the other patient,” he said firmly. “Eddie, take a breath. Hen’s with Shannon. She’s awake, she’s talking, she’s going to be okay.” 

“She’s – she’s okay?” Eddie’s voice cracked. 

“Bumps and scrapes. Maybe a sprained shoulder. Breathe.” Chimney put his hands on Eddie’s shoulders. 

“But – the car – the driver said–”

“Someone pulled her out of the way. Now, please breathe before I need to put you in the ambulance too.” He looked like he was one inhale away from coaching Eddie through how to breathe. 

Eddie sucked in a breath, feeling the oxygen flood his deprived system.

I wrote this letter a few years ago right after I left, or, actually, after I... didn't come back... to Christopher... trying to explain why I couldn't be there. And I figured that if, for some reason, I never found my way back, that he'd want answers. And he needed to know that... it wasn't his fault. That his mother didn't leave because she didn't love him. (x)
