Hey I really enjoyed your demigod head canons ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪ can I request a demigod reader but their the child of Circe (I know she’s not a canon god or even parents in Percy Jackson but she’s still a god) ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
Sure thing
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐔𝐔 𝐈𝐒 𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐈 𝐆𝐎𝐃 ( 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐄 ) 🐁✨

A demigod is a divine mythological figure, a god who is either part human, or a minor god. In ancient Greece, dead heroes were sometimes thought of as demigods. Greek and Roman mythology have their share of demigods, and so do many other ancient religions and traditions.
Demi-God Yuu would be similar to demi god yuu ( Hecate ) but they are reserved but also cunning, finding ways to amuse their boredom. They are very unpredictable in the School. They possessed a smirk or a smile that led people to keep guessing what's their next move.
Has an affinity with animals, the ramshackle dorm is known to have many animals to different kinds always hanging out in the yard helping Demi-God!yuu with chores or just to stay to talk with them. Even beast men every time Demi-God Yuu asks them to do something they would listen to.
Also has a habit of turning students they don't like into frogs or birds for a day. And the spell is in reversible nothing can turn the students back unless it's Demi god!yuu but they are the only ones that can free them from their curse.
A prodigy at potionolgy, even beating the likes of vil. They are a master at potionolgy. Creating potions that are known to be impossible in the world, using rare ingredients grow by themselves in the ramshackle dorm they. also possessed their own potion recipe that can alter one’s appearance, nature, or even memories.
They are a smooth talker. Their voice is smooth and soothing able to put people to sleep or hypnotize them like a siren though it’s hard to tell if it’s magic or just their natural allure. It makes even confident students hesitate, feeling both admiration and fear.
Demi-God Yuu has transformed the ramshackle dorm forest into a secluded garden. This space, filled with unusual plants and small creatures, becomes their sanctuary and a private place for brewing potions. The garden has a mystical atmosphere, and students who wander in uninvited often find themselves “lost” until Yuu decides to guide them out.
Grim and them at first have a rocky relationship, he originally was not trusting towards them and was wary of them. Every time they talk grim have to decipher whether or not they are telling the truth or deceiving but they soon grow into a much closer relationship. Demi-God Yuu even taught him some magic.
They have a habit to use birds as a massager, everytime when they have a test a bird would seen to land on the window of the classroom or if they had one and started chirping a melody and giving a more calming atmosphere so the staff allows it little did they know the bird was chirping all the answers to the test.
Demi-God!yuu also have the ability to transform into an animal of their choosing or any body part they choose.
Uses birds to communicate and observe the school every bird in the school grounds are all under their control so every time a news or something the birds will immediately report back to them.
Thanks towards their proficiency in potion making, demi god yuu would sell these potions or make potions whoever commission them but warning it comes with a price and very expensive to commission them. Epel once commissioned a potion that can help his family's apple farm...
Have some knowledge or excel in ancient magic, they are very interested in them even willing to learn the ones that are considered to be learned. They read ancient tapestries full of ancient magic to the point of forgetting to sleep.
I would like to demigod yuu being a neutral party they are not good or bad, they are a neutral party just doing what would benefit them.
Demi-God Yuu joins the Alchemy Club, they quickly become its most knowledgeable and resourceful member. However, they often work in the background, using their skills to enhance others’ potions or charms, while rarely claiming credit. Many club members seek Demi-God Yuu’s help in refining their work, and those who earn their favor might find themselves with charms that improve luck or resilience.
They have many animal pets that help them fix and serve under them. Theirs a rumor about this animal being formally human that was transformed by them but it is unclear.
Rook finds demi god Yuu absolutely fascinating, treating them almost as a muse. He’s enamored by their mystique and often watches their interactions with the creatures and nature around them. Demi-god Yuu, in turn, respects Rook’s keen insight, finding his fascination with them amusing yet endearing. They share a rare friendship of mutual intrigue and respect for each other’s depth.
Vil respects them but finds them like a rival since their appearance also describes them to be alluring and they excel more in potionology than him.

Wisdom is to seek the experienced
Your typical dimly lit bar, closing hours. Few folk still remain, fewer still conscious. The door chimes to a sprightly young man, though his eyes echo decades of witnessing the grim reality. He orders a beer, sits down next to a passed out man in his late 50s, hand still gripping his last shot glass.
The young man prods the old guy awake.
"Tell me, what do you know about Old Man Henderson?"
"What? That's an urban myth. A fairy tale. Ain't no such person ever existed. Scram, kid."
"We believe the contrary. Correction. We don't believe anything. We know he is real."
"That story is over a thousand years old. Wouldn't be the first time some fools mistake a work of fiction from three apocalypses ago as fact."
"There's more to it than that. We know that you are connected."
At this moment, the young man takes out a small binder of documents and splays it in front of the old guy. Images of excavations of an old town hall. Unidentified dirt and ash samples. A heavily damaged pilot's license. Used cigarette butts.
And a list of names, dates of birth and death, addresses throughout their life, occupations, relatives. Seemingly, no connection. And at the end of the list a Mr J. Drenshaw - the old guy.
"We know you know these people, all of them. Ever since the incident Old Man Henderson was involved in, there has been an unbroken chain of people who studied and learned everything about him and what occurred. And you did your best to erase everything from all records but your own.
Well, the one thing the first to whom this knowledge was passed on to did not do was to cremate their mentor. Instead, they received a burial at sea. Somewhere in the middle of the Pacific from a plane. Forever lost to the world, beneath endless waters and unknown beasts of below.
Or, so it would have remained, had it not been for that little explosion that has doomed our world. Among the debris the OCC cleared was a tiny, damaged microfilm. Unable to restore its contents at the time, it was stored alongside the innumerable relics recovered from the disaster, and promptly forgotten about.
Until my superiors learned of something... odd, and we got to work searching for the loosest of ends. The rest is technical details. In short - you, Mr Drenshaw, have known about the reality of the Old Ones ever since your mentor exposed you to this secretive knowledge you've been safekeeping for the last twenty eight generations. It is no longer your exclusive club.
We need your help understanding what Cthulu is, what it wants, what it can do, and most importantly - what we can do about it."
After a long pause, J. Drenshaw looked at his empty shot glass, at the young man, to the floor, and sighed.
"The reason we kept it from everyone is because you can't do anything about a being like that. That's the point."
"Old Man Henderson did do something about it."
"He was a nutjob. One of a kind."
"Still just human."
"Bah. It wasn't even the full might of anything Greater."
"Even a fraction was still a part of it. We can expand upon that."
"What do I even get out of this? Cuz I'm telling you, it doesn't matter how many Supernovas you throw at Cthulu. The material realm doesn't bother them in the least."
"It doesn't have to be a hostile relationship. Our experiences with the Galactic Coalition, despite a rocky start, show we can communicate with anyone."
"Aliens and Old Ones are not comparable. Can an ant negotiate with the Moon? That's a bullshit idea and you know it."
"We found an individual who contradicts your belief."
At this statement, the young man shows Mr Drenshaw a picture of a young woman, barely out of her teens, but even through a simple image Drenshaw can see in her eyes there is... knowing.
"Okay? That your girlfriend? Good for you."
"That is Cintra Valkeim. Though it proved difficult to ascertain, we believe she made contact with Cthulu."
"Thought you didn't believe in anything. Couldn't get her to confess?"
"We're still working on the specifics, but we do know she died several times. Either by negligence or lack of interest in us 'nothings', her resurrections left marks on the cellular level."
"Nothings..." Drenshaw slowly repeated the word, as if something finally clicked.
"That is how They view us, yes?"
Mr Drenshaw finally looked back at the young man, took a deep breath and simply said:
"Yea...
Fine. I'll talk to this Cintra. Alone. After that I'll decide if it's worth a bother to help you lot."
"Those are agreeable terms. Shall I take you to her now or...?"
"Fuck no. I got a raging headache and I need a nap. Just cuz you got my curiosity don't mean this hangover is suddenly gone. Leave your number, I'll call you in a few days. Gonna do my own investigation."
"Understandable. Here are my contacts."
Mr Drenshaw takes the card, looks at it, and bemusedly puts it away.
"Fuckin' hell. Bunch of jokers you are. Alright, I'll be sure to ring you up, Mr 'John Smith'. Now get outta here, you've ruined my nap long enough.
HEY, BARKEEP! GET ME SOMETHING THAT'LL KNOCK ME RIGHT BACK TO SLEEP!"

A Sabine Wren & Ezra Bridger Story
Story Summary: Takes place during Ahsoka Season 2. Making a hasty exit from Peridea, Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger are finally heading home together - only without Ahsoka, who elected to stay behind to finish the mission she started. Feeling lost without the presence of her Master and the grim ordeal of facing Thrawn's resurgent Empire ahead, Sabine is facing her lowest point yet. However, her trial is just beginning as Ezra finally confronts his closest friend with the knowledge about her deal with Thrawn. And the conversation that follows will change everything between them.
*Fan-art by the amazing @rancidsugar! Used here with their permission, since it directly inspired this fanfic.
Author’s Note: With the fantastic news that Ahsoka S2 is now in development, I finally decided to take a crack at writing the next reunion for our favorite duo. It’s a long time coming, and we all know Sabine needs to come clean with Ezra about certain things she’s been hiding from him. Let’s see how he responds.
The star whale's mouth gaped open, as Huyang maneuvered the T-6 shuttle into its mouth. Sabine held her breath as the vessel slipped inside, warily keeping an eye on the enormous teeth that hovered directly over them.
"Easy does it," muttered Ezra. He stood between her and Huyang in the shuttle's cockpit, eyes closed and hand outstretched; through the Force, Sabine could feel her friend communicating with the purrgil. Reassuring waves of calm and peace flowed through the bond he had with the majestic beast, making sure that they were not crunched between its massive jaws.
Sabine gazed in admiration at Ezra's competence, in the easy confidence he had in his abilities. He had grown so much in his time away from home and truly become the Jedi that Kanan wished him to be.
He would be so proud of you, she thought with a pang of melancholy. Not for the first time, she wished Kanan was here to witness all of this.
Her thoughts turned to her own master, Ahsoka Tano, who had elected to stay behind to finish her task on Peridea. Sabine felt guilt trickle into her emotions, remembering their last conversation before she left.
"We're supposed to stick together, remember? I'm not leaving you."
"Thrawn is your mission. What's happening here on Peridea is mine. I must see this through. And Ezra will need your help in defeating Thrawn."
"I can't do this without you, master. There's so much more I need to learn."
"You already know everything you need. I have nothing more to offer you than this: just be yourself, Sabine. That's more than enough."
She closed her eyes, feeling the pang of melancholy sharpen into grief. Once again, another loved one had gone and there was nothing she could do about it.
As if reading her thoughts, Huyang said, "Do not grieve for Lady Tano, Sabine. She was only able to make her choice because of you."
"You mean it was my fault," said Sabine bitterly.
"Not at all. It is because you are going home that she was able to stay on Peridea to deal with the threat there. She trusted you, Sabine Wren, to deal with Thrawn."
You know I can always count on you, right?
Sabine felt a small smile escape through the gloom of her feelings, remembering the young boy who had uttered those words a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away . . .
Ahsoka had told her the same in their last conversation. Her master was counting on her to see this through. And she would. She promised herself, and to Ahsoka, that she would do whatever it takes to ensure that it was done.
And then she would bring Ahsoka home, so they could all finally live in peace.
The shuttle shuddered and a bright spectrum of lights filled the cabin; Sabine squinted her eyes at the dazzling array, almost blinded by the light show in front of them.
"Here we go," said Ezra. She looked at him, seeing the satisfied smile on his face. Sabine, not able to help herself, reached forward and squeezed his hand.
Ezra turned to look at her. "Thanks for coming back," she said.
He squeezed her hand back affectionately. "Did it in record time, too," he teased. "What's your excuse?"
Sabine rolled her eyes. "There was a war still going on, remember?"
"Uh-huh," replied Ezra, sounding unconvinced. "I guess I'll let it slide."
"This will take a while," Huyang said, interrupting their banter. "Ezra, if you would please tend to Lady Wren's injuries? I will stay here and keep an eye on things while you two rest."
Sabine blinked and then a wave of exhaustion and pain swept over her; she had forgotten how desperate their escape had been until now when Huyang had said something.
Ezra blinked and muttered a curse. "Right. Sorry, Sabine." He reached forward and lifted her from the co-pilot seat. She started to protest but another wave of exhaustion slipped past her defenses and only a weak mumble escaped her lips as Ezra carried her to the med-bay.
"You're awfully quiet," observed Sabine while he finished patching up her wounds some time later.
Ezra carefully applied a final bandage to a cut on her right upper forearm before replying, "Huyang's right. You shouldn't beat yourself up about Ahsoka. She needed to stay. And you needed to go home."
He sat back and double-checked his handiwork. "Can you walk?"
Sabine attempted to sit up from the medical bed but was immediately faced with a dozen sharp pinpricks of pain from all over her body. "You mean today?" she asked through gritted teeth.
Ezra smiled briefly at her attempt at humor before saying, "Bedrest it is, then."
Sabine grimaced but laid back in the bed. "This is doing wonders for my confidence," she muttered.
Ezra reached out and held her hand. "Surviving Peridea is an achievement only a few can claim. It's an exclusive club, Sabine. You're now a part of it."
She snorted. "Well," she mused, "if Thrawn can do it, then I sure as hell can."
At the mention of Thrawn, she saw Ezra's face become troubled. A flash of insight from the Force revealed something dark roiling beneath Ezra's confidence . . .
"What is it?" she asked quietly. "I felt that."
Ezra let go of her hand and sat back in his chair. She could practically see the gears whirring away inside his head as he thought through some particularly difficult decision.
Finally, he seemed to make up his mind. "I found the purrgils," he said slowly.
"I can see that," replied Sabine. "Seeing as though we're in one."
Ezra reached up to rub the back of his head. He's nervous about something, she noted. Her stomach began to sink, feeling the direction of his thoughts; small seeds of doubt were sprouting in his mind.
About her.
He looked up at her. "So did Thrawn," he said.
She inhaled sharply. "He was there?"
Ezra nodded. "He guessed what my next move was. I managed to get ahead of him, thanks to Hera's intervention but . . ."
"But what, Ezra?" Sabine felt like she didn't want to know the answer.
He reached down to his belt and took out his comm-link. "He sent me a message," he said quietly.
Ezra clicked on the comm-link and a conversation began to play.
Thrawn: "I must congratulate you on your success today, Ezra Bridger. You've shown great loyalty to your friends, Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano."
Ezra: "Not that you would understand anything about that. I'll be seeing you later, Grand Admiral."
Thrawn: "Indeed you will. Perhaps to a changed galaxy. All thanks to your friend, Sabine. How different things would be if she did not care so much about you."
Ezra: ". . . What's that supposed to mean?"
Thrawn: "Oh, she didn't tell you? Unfortunate. Be sure to give her my thanks when you reunite."
The recording stopped. Ezra gazed at Sabine, eyes unreadable, waiting for her answer.
Sabine couldn't bring herself to look at him. She just stared at the comm-link in his hand, wanting to be anywhere else than here, wanting a black hole to emerge and suck her into its void. Any hell would be preferable instead of having to face an Ezra who knew about what she had done.
"Sabine." His voice was soft, not accusatory. Almost pleading.
At last, she finally found her voice, weak as it was. "What do you want me to say, Ezra?" she asked. "Do you want me to apologize?"
"I want you to say whatever it is you want to say. I'm just going to listen," he said.
She folded her arms over her stomach; it felt like everything important inside her was threatening to spill out. "I'm not going to apologize," she whispered.
"Okay," was all he said.
"You weren't there. I had to make a choice. No one else was there. It was just me. Ahsoka - I thought Baylan had killed her. She was gone. And you were still gone, and I had the map." She hated how desperate her voice sounded.
Ezra, true to his word, didn't say anything. He just watched her.
"I couldn't lose you like I lost my family. Like how I thought I had lost Ahsoka. I wasn't - I wasn't strong enough to lose you a second time. My best friend." Tears threatened to blur her vision; a sob, rising in her throat steadily, almost robbed her voice of what little strength it had. She fought through it.
"So, I handed the map over. I made the deal with Thrawn to find you. I betrayed everything you and Kanan and everyone else sacrificed and died for. All just so I could see you again."
At last, she turned to look at him. The tears fell freely now down her face. "I doomed the galaxy for you, Ezra Bridger. And the worst part of it is, I'd do it again. Even knowing how it would all end."
Ezra gazed at her for a long moment and then turned away. Sabine struggled to sit-up and pleaded, "Ezra, please say something. Say anything."
He stood up abruptly. She blinked at him in surprise. "Say that you hate me and just get this over with," she said, resigned. Her heart was breaking into a thousand pieces but this was the price she knew would be paid the moment the map left her hand.
He stood over her. She waited for him to say the words that would end their friendship.
Instead, he clasped his hands over the sides of her face and leaned forward, gently touching his forehead with hers. Her eyes widened with surprise - and then with overwhelming gratitude as she felt the love and reassurance from him flow through their bond in the Force.
Sabine couldn't hold it back anymore. She started to openly weep. "After all this?" she cried. "Even with all that I've done?"
"Always," he reassured her. "I forgive you. Always. It'll be okay, Sabine. We'll figure it out, together."
"I'm weak," she said. "I did something so bad."
"You are not weak," replied Ezra firmly. "You are enough. You are extraordinary, Sabine. And it's not like I haven't done things I regret, you know? The Sith Holocron, you remember?"
Sabine shook her head. "This isn't the same! This is the whole galaxy that's at stake."
Ezra chuckled. "It's not a competition, first of all. And when hasn't the galaxy been at stake? We've dealt with Thrawn before, we'll do it again."
The guilt surged up within her, refusing to be assuaged by his words. "But - "
"But nothing," Ezra said sternly. "Sabine. Listen to me. Did you build the gigantic hyperdrive ring that Thrawn used to get back?"
She stared at him, thrown off by the sudden question. "Uh, no."
"Did you put Morgan Elsbeth onto his path as a partner? Did you hire Baylan and Shin?"
Sabine saw where his line of questions was heading. Grimacing, she said, "No, but - "
Ezra interrupted her. "Yes, you had a role in his return. But not all of it belongs to you, do you understand? He couldn't have returned without a lot of help, not just you."
"Okay, okay." She held up her hands in a placating gesture. "I get it. I think."
"Good," he said. "No more feeling guilty. We need to be focused for what lies ahead."
Sabine looked at him. "We?" she asked.
He nodded. "You're stuck with me, Sabine Wren. Whether you like it or not."
She smiled, considering his words. "I guess that's not so bad." She looked him over and shook her head in amazement.
"What is it?" Ezra asked.
"When did you grow up so quickly, goober?" she asked.
He grinned at her. "Haven't heard that nickname in a while. Since we were kids," he said.
"Yeah," she said. "Guess I can't really call you that anymore, huh."
Ezra winked at her. "You can call me whatever you like, Sabine."
She looked at him thoughtfully. "I'll think about it," she said. Suddenly, her stomach rumbled, interrupting the conversation. Sabine flushed with embarrassment.
Ezra laughed. "I'll heat up some food. Be right back."
Watching him leave, the moment he was out of earshot, Sabine said softly, "I'll be here, cyar'ika."

Interplanar Tool of Stars Prologue
Prologue
With a thunderclap the glittering building above them topples into another but luckily rests, arrows of material swinging down from the heavens into the street below, crushing a nearby evac train and causing it to explode in red like a fruit drink, lives cut short in an instant.
An anthro corvid and cat, Maren and her wife Loret, dash through the burning metropolis. Feather and fur hid and ran through twisted metal. They just need to get to one of the evacs.
“Holy shit! How far are we!?” Maren slams the broken multitool into a building door, its various mechanisms whining at the barbaric use.
“Uh- I believe two kilometers!? Though, a beast seems to be that direction” Loret peers through the floating looking-glass as she manipulates a map with her hands, a small scroll containing the screen. The beast surely there, considering the mass destruction and buildings toppling, although their flesh was not visible on this plane the chaos was.
“Alright, we’ll go through the buildings, any trains still active?” Maren breaks open the door, bringing up a flashlight to reveal the hastily abandoned jewelry store. “...Want a ring?”
Loret filed in after Maren, looking around with an amused smile. “Maren, dear, you’ve already gotten me five since the Flickering Beasts arrived on-planet.”
“Another wouldn’t hurt! You can show the kiddos when they arrive after this hell’s frozen!”
“Fine.” Loret laughed at her wife’s grim antics, maybe this mini-apocalypse wasn’t too bad with Maren.
#
The fighter rockets through the buildings as Styli tunes the multi-planar radar system desperately hoping to get a reading from one of the radar towers nearby, the half-satyr half-harpy pilot’s first actual deployment just had to be a complete disaster. Over the last five hours seven city-sectors were devastated, an entire pack of Flickering Beasts had found their way into Ring’s Landing and downtown was already eviscerated. Most of them were giant-sized though, so radar pings were relatively common… the issue was hitting the godsforsaken beasts.
- Planar disruption located at sector J9K2. Size: giant -
They found one
Escaping to the top of the city, Styli gazes out at the burning surroundings. Familiar streets and buildings wrecked, countless kith and kin gone. The evac shuttles were just barely hanging on, evac trains going offline one after another.
- Evac train I-3, its here! Requesting cove!—
- Does anyone have a visual on any secure routes!? We’re stuck on the east edge of downtown with half a tank of energy left for our train. -
- This is a message requesting immediate assistance at Farnan’s Bank, we’ve got twelve survivors holed up with us in the vault and!—
- Has anyone seen a blue and orange personal shuttle!? Please my partners are in there! -
- I don’t know where to go I don’t know where to go I don’t knowwheretogoIdon’tknowwhereto–-
- Where the fuck are they!? My radio malfunctioned and I’m flying through these streets blin—
- Do we have any reinforcements!? Commander Erane, please tell me there’s more fucking people coming. -
- Argent-9, I’m attempting to route additional squadrons but- the situation is fucked- I can’t I can’t. How many do we have evacuated!? -
It was a mistake to keep long range communications on… but Styli feels like they have to, flying over the inferno of a home they need to hear its last words… maybe it could be saved, if they could just kill those fucking beasts.
Finally finding the trail of the beast, Styli dives down and opens fire on the imperceivable monster. Lead and plasma sink into the invisible horror and briefly show the vivid skin of the beast at the impact points, a shrieking cry echoing from it. The Flickering Beast takes down another building as it seemingly turns on the jet, yet Styli already pulled up and prepared for another attack.
#
Monoma’ch jumps off the roof, spinning the meteor hammer and chanting incantations. The end of the weapon glimmers to life and fire as they bring the meteor around them then into an elbow shot. True to its name the meteor hammer slammed down upon the Flickering Beast’s head below, Monoma’ch’s interplanar eye piercing its veils and seeing the beast for what it is in another plane. With a crack the rope goes taut, the Flickering Beast’s cranium careening down into the alley below. Monoma’ch pulls back the meteor then kicks it down again into the monster’s skull, shattering it into a normally unseeable mush.
They land on another roof, feeling it destabilize so quickly running to the next.
“One down! For your second true outing, five beasts slain isn’t that bad Mono, the air corps have only gotten seven so far. Say, why don’t we beat them out in this competition?” Their tail, Ach, flicked, scanning the surroundings for more prey.
“Ach, please don’t make this a damn game. Real people are dying–” Mono caught sight of another beast, barreling towards the evac ships “Shit!”
Ach swings around to look at the scene, letting out a hiss. “Ough, that’s going to be a fucking mess.”
Monoma’ch launched towards the horror, chasing after it like the rope of their meteor followed it.
Eventually overtaking the massacrer, Monoma’ch spins the meteor hammer around its neck, arm, and finally elbow. The meteor rebounding around and punching the beast in the side on Monoma’ch’s behalf, the beast turning like a bull to the left.
“Civvies heading to the shuttles from that way Mon! Ready to give them a good fucking show!?” Ach flicked again, helping to stabilize Monoma mid-air.
#
Loret hears the beast heading to them first, having gotten a small hoverbike she and Maren had lurched down towards the evac shuttles. “Maren, beast on its way here!”
“Oh shit! Turn turn turn! Maren grabs Loret’s waist, holding on as her beloved swings into an alleyway.
A crack resounds through the streets as a small figure whips the invisible creature just before they enter the alley, its terrible chaos turning away from the couple. Loret spins around back onto a road, weaving the bike through ruins as the two look up towards the lithe being above. It hops from roof to roof, seemingly felling the beast after a few more swings.
“Who the fuck is that!?” Loret turns back to the street, focusing on the rapidly approaching shuttles.
“Maybe that Monothingy!? The one on the news last week?”
“Hopefully, that person’s a fucking beast with that meteor!-” Loret nearly spins out trying to avoid a fallen sign. “Gods, Maren, we may need to go back on foot.”
“Alright, let’s hurry though, the beasts are getting awfully close to the shuttles.”
#
Styli pants, having pulled five strafes their ammo was running low, they need to kill it on this one.
- Sector R4 is gone! I repeat it’s all just fucking gone! -
The plane spun around, Styli feeling its movement like a limb. They refocused the guns’ targeting on the beast’s last location and pulled the trigger. Every lead and plasma projectile spun towards the horror with the cries of the entire city. No. An entire planet, Styli channels the grief from watching their planet crumble into the package, desperately hoping to buy time for reinforcements to help bring back the situation.
- More evac shuttles have landed! They’re in sector A2, please direct civilians there and guard them! Avoid T3 and Y6 as there are Flickering Beasts located there! -
The bullets hit their mark, tearing the imperceptible creature’s hide and causing it to apparently crash onto the floor, the revealed spots from the impacts not hiding again. As Styli pulled up they sighed, it was dead.
- Did Centaur-5 just kill a beast on their own!? Bloody good job Centaur-5! -
Looking upon the city, Styli realizes just how much was gone, and there were still thirteen beasts in the city according to the radars... they needed to save their home.
- I… I’m calling a retreat, we can’t manage this, we’ve lost all the helicopters I sent; ground troops are in shambles; and the beasts are getting closer to the evacs… All units and evacs retreat, please- I- I can’t. -
What?... No no nonono
#
Monoma’ch wraps the meteor hammer around the beast's neck and tugs, they couldn’t suffocate the creature but star could…
Crack
Snap the neck.
Mono looks around, spotting the corvin and felin couple running to the evacs, they were alright… good.
As Mono pulls back the rope Ach stares down at the creature, sneering. “Pitiful thing, I mean really they only have the fact that they’re not visible on regular planes going for them.”
- Monoma’ch, this is a direct order from Commander Erane and the planetary governance council. Retreat. I repeat. Retreat. -
The voice echoes through both their heads, causing body and tail alike to wince a bit.
“Buzzkills.” Ach sighs and begins to scan for a route out. “Let’s get going Mon, no use disobeying.”
“...” Mono turns and begins hopping from building to building, taking a look around at the city they just failed.
#
The shuttles are meters away, Maren hears the frantic directions of the crew as they appear to be all leaving. Plasma and lead shot up into the sky at an unknown threat behind a row of buildings.
“Why are they leaving so soon!? Wasn’t there two hours left on the evac schedule!?” Loret tugs on her wife’s arm, speeding up to catch the evacs.
“Is the situation that bad?”
“Must be–”
With a thunderclap an invisible creature falls upon the evacs. Metal, bone, and flesh melding together under an unseeable horror as at least hundreds of sparks of life go out. Blood sprays out in an unnatural pattern, being courted around the body of the beast as it squeezed out the liquid of life from the evacs.
Maren looks on at the scene, pupils as small as the stars in the sky as she puts a hand on her mouth.
“Love, we need to go, we need to go.” Loret shakingly grabs her wife and begins to scramble to some sort of shelter, anything as the air raid sirens begin to sing a song of atomic fire.
#
Styli flies over the city, comms screaming. Their hands felt frigid, looking over their home as it is condemned to evisceration.
- What the fuck!? Why is there a nuclear warning!? -
- Commander Erane! Commander Erane!! Please tell us what’s going on! -
- Gods, please, does anyone know where the warhead is going!? -
- We’re in the subway, I’ve got thirty civilians with me, please does anyone know what to do!? Please we have elderly and children! -
- I-, gods. Where is the commander!? Uh- everyone try to get as far from the center of the city as possible, just run! -
Faint sobs echo from the radio. The commander’s.
Styli contributes their voice to the chaos, the small green rectangle confirming outward broadcasting. “Fuck… no no no nononono. What the fuck!?”
They see a distant yellow stream over the horizon line, death incarnate. Pulling on the stick and willing the plane to move they begin to veer away from the center of Ring’s Landing. Looking down at the ruined shops and apartments, occasionally seeing the small shapes of people running for their lives.
Tears fall down the hybrid’s face, metaphorical arms of the dead and condemned tugging them back but the seat refuses to let Styli be dragged out of the plane. The pain thrashes through their heart as if their pockets are filled with stones in the seas of Europa.

Echoes
Tony Fandango put a lot of effort into being good at his jobs – as a ruiner and aperture mage for the Obscura, as an operative assassin for the Dokuchi Reckoners, and, now, as the point of contact for the Grim Fleet’s access to Dokuchi planeswalkers. They were grateful for her work bringing in enough income to afford all the changes of clothes that he needed for their multiple jobs.
She kept his hands in their pockets as they flew over the Siren Sea. Her spear was strapped to his back to keep it from falling into the waves. It would be a pain to replace it if something happened, considering they had it tailored to her very specific weapon requirements. Boss Hayashi would definitely be able to make another spear, but in his present condition, asking him to work the forge wasn’t a request that Tony was going to make.
They paused in the air above the broken and battered ship. She lowered gently to the splintered deck and stood there for a moment, allowing his mana to seep out of their body and into the area. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He raised their hand, summoning her magic, and opened the past.
Echo reading and aperture magic relied on magical residue left over, something that could be wiped away if you knew what to look for. But Tony had been honing this magic for two and a half decades now. Under his feet, a ghostly image of the ship began to form.
The battle was sudden, swift, and brutal. The storm had rolled in out of nowhere, waves slapping into the ship to keep them from using the cannons. Then the griffins swooped in, their paws and talons slashing into the sailors and knocking them to the decks. Despite most of the sailors being hard of hearing or deaf, they did what they could to grab weapons and fight off their attackers. A ghostly afterimage of Storm was yelling into her communicator as she fired off a cannon shot at a griffin and successfully hit it, making it drop into the water. Just as she yelled a warning of what they had, a spear struck her out of nowhere, going through her right shoulder and dropping her to the deck with a cry of pain.
A larger griffin landed silently on the deck, and a woman dismounted the beast and walked over to Storm’s downed form casually. Though echo magic didn’t store colors, Tony could tell that the woman’s eyes glowed with power. The woman’s voice sent a shiver down Tony’s spine. “You’re more trouble than I thought. But well worth that trouble. You’ll make a fine addition. Now...” She stepped on Storm’s communicator and broke it. “It’s time for you to come join your new family, Kalleis.”
The other griffins kept the crew from interfering as the woman removed her spear from Storm’s downed form, then hefted up Storm like she weighed only a few pounds. She laid Storm down on the saddle of the larger griffin and re-mounted it, flying off. After they were clear, the other griffins departed, flying off into the sky and leaving the crew to fend for themselves in the water with the broken ship.
Tony took a deep breath and pulled themself back out of her aperture magic. His hands were shaking, not from fear, but because they had an idea of who was behind this. She knew of a handful of Therosian planeswalkers, but Boss Hayashi had encountered one who resembled the woman who captured Storm the most. Boss Hayashi’s interaction with this woman wasn’t in this context by any stretch of the imagination, but...
Tony pressed two fingers to his forehead and tapped into the Dokuchi telepathic network. Menacari, he called privately, only to his fellow Dokuchi-Obscura. Get me Boss Hayashi’s file on Sophrosyne, but otherwise do not interact with this operation. This is my show so we can get Captain Storm back safely.

What goes bump in the night? Who’s riled and ready for a fright? Why it’s these three mischievous young knaves of course, Dhorpor, Mharghy and Carcass Kid. This tricky trio is comprised of orphans who were brought into the halls of the great Eolasug of Drynyra for their particular proficiencies as promising prodigies of the scientific disposition.
Dhorpor! A rough one he is, but judging from how well he ended up taking rending his skull open to prod at his chronic brain trauma and consequently stitching it all back together this bald bespectacled kid is a tough nut to crack. Found among the filth of a sty rife with lardy beasts of burden by the outer parts of the municipality, his abilities of dissection and amputation surely came from his tendency towards cruelty and sadistic behaviour. Rather than the mud-rollers of the past, he helps the good cullahs of the halls with surgery and even excels quite well in his extraction of tumors and painful growths. Many a limb and many an organ have been skimmed and skewered under his blade to the express agony of many patients, of course a small price to pay in the way of the alleviation of dismay and the prospect of making it to the next wretched day. A playful loud mouth and energetic assistant, this boy might only be a few articles on anatomy and years in the plague-ridden city from becoming a true butcher of men.
Mharghy! The lanky cranky teen of one eye may appear to only bear half of her vision about her, however her wicked wits and careless creativity are never to be seen as anything half-minded or half-handed. A terrible team of infections took about her body in the midst of her adolescence, leaving her with a wary wavy spine and a socket of her skull compromised. Rather than seeking the dubious treatments of the looming quarters of the city, she took needle and thread upon herself to mend her own wounds. Such a determined dedication to the work of seasoned skin stitching translated into her task of bringing patchworked patients back together. Reconnecting innards and reconciling internals is no simple deed, a grizzly process which ought to leave one standing with most of (if not more) of their limbs and organs. A snarky sardonic cynic of the surgical sort, this girl can’t hold in a hardy laugh at the woes of others, even if it means her glass eye popping out.
…Carcass Kid? A relatively recent arrival from a lonely land in the heart of Talukod, this strange and stiff… kid reportedly was one among a band of travelers who involved themselves in niche mysteries. Their putrid presence seems to submerge and stifle the high spirits of any chamber they happen to stalk as some who have come into contact with this corpse-like character would come to claim. Their face is often obscured by the damp hood which adorns their noggin at all times, beyond a twisted black thicket of hair lies there a face both youthful and terribly skeletal, a ghastly pale visage of calm yet unsettling emotion. They rarely can be heard speaking as their voice remains soft and whispery, however this does not appear to trouble their companions Dhorpor and Mharghy. The particular proficiency of this unusual youngster is quite certainly difficult for most to get a grim grasp on, as they seem to know death on a level which few in these halls of progress can conceive. Some have spread rumors that the wise citizen scientist Prydlyn Pyrmarbh has taken to conferring with this young mystic concerning pseudoscience and snake oils, possibly spurred on by a rising internal distrust and only made stronger through a prejudice against those from partially-integrated border communities. As far as can be parsed from what brief interactions have been made with this poorly understood child they seem to especially enjoy the company of their companions, be that in strenuous study or simply wandering the sullen sickly streets of Drynyra bearing with them some of the last remaining jolly juvenile joy around.

ranker AU, a 3am writing session ft. ocs
-
[ system: ???? domain has appeared.
rank: ????
time remaining: 30 02 05 49 ]
Noctis glance at the pop up as he gazed at the white portal. No one knows when it showed up, until a woodcutter from the nearby town who stumbled on to it on accident, only then it was noticed. "Suspicious." He thinks, tightening his grip on the hilt of his sword. Gates were the portals to domains and when created, a wave of mana are released, allowing them to detect it. That was until today. The unknown rank did not help with the situation. It was a first to have one labled as unknown. Would five S ranks be enough to clear this domain? They were the best in the country but they could also go in and never returned. His eyes narrowed, "Unknown rank, unknown domain. The first of its kind." He mutters, seemingly wants to burn the gate through glaring.
"Noctis, stop glaring at the gate." Jay taps his shoulder, gave him a wry smile. Noctis just grunted and turn his attention as the rest of the exploration team arrived. Victoria, Seia, Taka with Cael as the communication link between them and the Association.
"So that's the unknown gate." Seia hummed as she looks, "Wow, it really has no presence." Despite her light hearted tone, her body stance was tense and alert. "Alright, today’s mission is exploration. Do not engage unless there's an absolutely need." Jay, the leader, smiles as he reminds them once again. An unknown domains means unknown risks and he doesn't want any casualties if possible. "Break a leg, guys." Cael waved as the unit enters the domain.
[ system: you have entered 'Sanctuary of ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ]
One foot in and they were immediately overwhelmed. Their knees buckled and they were gasping for "air". Heavy heaving and coughs was heard in the otherwise serene and quiet, lush forest. The air was heavily concentrated with mana. A whiff was enough to make them keel over. It felt like pure mana has invaded their body, causing their body to take in more than what they could handle. Gasping, Victoria extends her hand, casting a skill.
「 Skill Activation: circle of survival 」
A purple hued dome envelopes the crew and begins filtering out excess mana. Gradually, sounds of heaving, chokes died down as they slowly adapts to the mana level of the domain. Victoria was the first to recover. "Is everyone okay?" Her raspy voice calls out with a few cough to clear her throat. Nods were given as all of them sit up once they could breath again. All of them had grim expressions on their face. While Victoria's skill enabled the party to breath again, the mana levels were an issue. In a place that is mana rich and heavily concentrated, the monsters here would not be easy. They took a moment to survey their surrounding.
Shades of green surrounds them with various plants and trees. An overgrown forest with no signs of beasts and monsters. The leaves sway gently whenever there was a breeze. It was so slient that they could hear each other's breathings and an occasional leaf rustling. It's unusual. Perhaps they were used to having the sounds of the insects from the forests back home that the complete silent was eerie to them. "Detection has been deployed, we can move anytime." Seia broke the silence. "Okay, let's move." Jay whispered.
-
Traversing the forest was not easy. The forest was a giant. Not only was it huge, the plants that grew here were ginormous enough that they feels like an insect. Noctis hacked and slashes the plants to make a patheway as they searched. There was nothing except plants. "Seia, anything on the detection circle?" Taka asked. She shook her head. He sighs. They have been walking what feels like hours and they are not seeing anything. Their uneasiness grew as they marched on. "How big is this forest?" Noctis wonders, not liking the lack of monsters ironically. It made him feel unease yet relief at the same time. "How far is the boss location?" He continues to wonder as he clears the path. He stopped. Everyone stopped.
Infront of them was an unusual sight. Light gleamed on the amber egg-shape objects. A very tall tree looms over eggs, the roots and parts of its branches and vines envelopes them like they were protecting it. "Seia." Jay commanded. "No signs of potential mothers nearby." she continued. It was strange. The domain did not contain a single lifeform. "Hey, do you think we have entered a resting place for recovery? The domain was titled sanctuary." Taka asked, taking note of the sleeping figures.
"Possible. Let's scower the perimeter." Jay finally made a decision. Armed and battle ready, they came out of the dense forest and into the clearing, treading carefully. Other than the eggs, there was nothing. Victoria and Seia observed the eggs at a safe distance. "Do you think it's safe to kill? Victoria questioned, noting the lack of potential mothers means they could prevent the birth of future bosses. Seia doesn’t know. Despite her longevity as an elf, a false move could cause them death. "Perhaps. But let's wait for Jay's decision." She concluded, walking. "There's really nothing here. Is this really an unknown rank domain?" She doesn’t like this, too much unknown odds. The group eventually makes their way into the perimeter and finally, right enough of the eggs. Nothing was triggered.
The eggs were an amber gem that cocoons the individuals. Inside the eggs, they could see a man and a woman inside, in a fetus position. The man have light golden hair while the lady have black hair that held in a ponytail. A katana cradles between her. Their outfit were in tatters, like they have just fought a war. Both had their eyes closed. "They are alive." Seia detects, it was a very faint signal from their mana, so faint that they blend in with the mana in the surroundings like an object.
[ system: congratulations, you have found the missing guardians of the old world. ]
"Guardians of the old world? What does that mean?" Noctis's eyebrows furrowed.
[ system: you now earned the title 'Discovers of the heart ]
[ system: the heart welcomes you. you are now the second to enter its abode. ]
[ system: a favor has been bestowed to you. 'Please bring the guardians to Shuji.' ]
"Woah, woah, we do not bring back bosses into our homeland." Noctis rejects the favour. Bring them would be a free pass to their's country destruction.
[ system: the sanctuary says they are humans who once fought the great war. ]
"No way...The great war?!" Seia's eyes widened at the information. "The war that has occurred 1000 years ago?" She was speechless. A war that her master, Shuji, once told her. A war that was so terrible that it nearly caused the world to go extinct.
[ yes. ]
The party was stumped. Their records say no one returned despite them being victorious and now they are being told there are survivors, just trapped or in this case, sleeping in the domain. "Can humans live that long?" They wondered. This was shocking news.
"How can we trust you?" Seia questioned. They have to make sure it wasn't a trick by the domain. None of them knew the war well and she only had hear bits from her master.
[system: the sanctuary offers a brooch. ]
A branch went towards them, handing a gold brooch with intricate patterns that shaped into a tree with a ruby at its center. The brooch has magic imbued to them. "That's master's insignia." Seia confirms.
"Master gave his insignia...He has entered the domain before." She concluded and nods to Jay. "Alright, we will take them back." He agreed. While he doesn't trust the domain, he trust Seia and Shuji, the world's only EX rank.
[ system: the cocoons will now be open. ]
The eggs glowed, turning into pure mana and opens, revealing the brown haired man and black hair lady, their clothes were in tatters. Victoria did basic check up on them, all injuries have been healed. Both Noctis and Taka carried the unconscious duo.
[ system: the sanctuary thanks them and opens an exit to the world as gratitude. ]
A blue portal opens as right beside them as another message pings.
[ system: ???? rank domain has been cleared. Time left to closure: 5 minutes. ]
"Let's go." They entered the portal and came out from the original portal where the team and Cael was waiting. Cael was surprised to see the two new faces. "Who are they?"
"It's a long story but to keep it short, they were humans trapped in the domain." Jay explains with a sigh. "Cael, could you contact Mr. Shuji? Tell him we have an urgent case that he needs to look at." He asks, pointing towards the unconscious. Cael nods and calls Shuji. They then bring the duo to a nearby hospital for a more thorough checkup.

At the mention of a certain type of ferocity, Akiyama felt his lips pulling up despite the grim content of their conversation. Daigo was not wrong - he could see it too, of course; but he had grown so used to the ways that Azumi existed and communicated that the soft touches of his wife and the tunes hummed while dancing in the woods were more important. To her husband after death, the banshee was beautiful before she was terrifying (even if it played a part to her beauty).
"That is the unfortunate thing - Azumi is technically dead, as you may have noticed in your prior encounters with others of her kind. Bullets will not harm her, silver does nothing to the skin, fire gets her warm but shall not burn the flesh to a crisp. They inhabit in a strange area between our world and the next, anchored by something that was... Profoundly traumatic to them. More than their own deaths, sometimes," Akiyama elaborated, nodding to let the retired hunter know that he had understood the question, but unfortunately lacked a coherent answer.
"I am, simply put, looking for a way to vanquish a banshee when the time comes so Azumi can do it herself if she wants. When you said you had done that, even if by accident, it got me thinking about what could have triggered it - and you are right. She has a comb of her own that is very precious and the only one she will use to tend to her hair if I'm not using my own hands."
Outside of that room, Akiyama would not have voiced those conclusions - it was too dangerous to hand information such as the one capable of ending (for good) the existence of someone so beloved to him. But Daigo was no longer a man keen on defeating and slaying anything that was not human or purely animal - the scars on his face and the absent eye were proof of that. The older male had sacrificed himself for a werewolf, and the scholar had no doubt that he would rather die than disclose a secret that would endanger Melissa or their children (as human and healthy as they were, surely their offspring would be looked at differently if the village knew they had been sired by a she-wolf).
Sighing deeply, Akiyama's brown eyes returned to the broken artifact - and just gazed at it for a long while, in silence while both hands interlinked over his lap. He hardly looked to be bothered by the wet hair or the playful behavior of the resident kelpie - the younger male had a characteristically pensive expression on him, not unlike when he and Daigo had combed through most of his materials together in search of an answer for his predicament when he figured out the identity of the beast haunting the town.
"There is a lot of pain in Azumi that was transformed into many other things - including that rage you speak of. I am hoping that the destroying the comb will be the key to allow her to finally rest one day. I don't think she is certain of that working in her favor either - but it seems to be our best bet."
★. ―
Daigo leaned back again as Akiyama spoke, thick arms crossing over his chest. He did not have the same aversion to the comb that his companion did ; rather, the former hunter thought it best to grant the scholar all of the room he needed to study the artifact. As the topic of conversation drifted to much darker material, Daigo felt his lips press into a thin line.
It made sense, he supposed. He didn't know much about banshees ( outside of what Shun and Azumi had taught him ), but he had always been under the impression that they were members of the living dead. Some called them ghosts to make defining the creatures easier, though Daigo was not sure their kind was boxed up quite so simply. So neatly. Much like werewolves, there were a good deal of assumptions disguised as facts in the official texts.
"I had wondered," Daigo said first, softly, "what I could offer about banshees to a man who sleeps next to one every night." The former hunter did his best to smile. However, the expression slipped quickly, and he returned to a thoughtful frown.
"When I first started slaying monsters out there, I was told that banshees were wild," he continued after a pause. "They were either unintelligent killers or murderous tricksters — and the banshee I met before your wife startled me because she was neither. She wanted me dead, I cannot deny that . . . but I was taken aback by her eyes. it was no different than looking into the face of a woman on the street, except there was a hatred there I could never put into words. It wasn't until after I ran off with my prize that it occurred to me that banshees were more than ghosts to scare children with at night ; the depth of feeling I saw before I shot her made me lose a month's worth of sleep."
Daigo looked over at Akiyama, black eye regarding his companion intently. "Your Azumi has it — that ferocity. I do not think any of us will be able to stop her from following you to your grave, Shun ; the question is instead how comfortable can the process be made for her. I certainly don't fault you for inquiring about that."
The former hunter tapped his foot. His arms tightened about himself as he proceeded to get comfortable in his chair. "I must say that I don't know how your wife . . . died, so please forgive my ignorance. Was there any clue when she passed, any artifacts ?? I have seen her tend to her hair often. Is it too bold of me to wonder if another comb is involved ??"

Bells Hells, Level 9
Disclaimers as per usual: If I said something incorrect or left out something significant, corrections are welcome and encouraged. If I simply did not expound upon every single possible choice open to a character; if my opinions on mechanics differ from yours; or if you have wild speculation, please make your own post.
Blood hunter info is taken from the D&D Beyond content, which is subject to change, so don’t @ me if it does.
Everyone's proficiency bonus is now +4, which affects skill checks, proficient saves, and attacks. Non-multiclassed full spellcasters (FCG and Imogen, assuming neither multiclass) get fifth level spells.
In general, ninth level is an important but not terribly exciting one, in that 5th level spells are a big leap up and it's a proficiency bonus increase level, but it's fairly quiet in terms of class or subclass features. The multiclassers are the most interesting part here.
Also: now that level ups are done as separate little bits rather than teasers at the end of episodes, I'm introducing a "Looking forward" note at the end to speculate on L10 and beyond, since, for example, the version of this post in my drafts had my recommended ASIs for Chet and Fearne but no one got to see them until after the fact.
Chetney: By taking a level in blood hunter - his 8th in that class - he gets an ASI, which Travis took as stat bonuses to INT and STR. This is honestly what I would have recommended; he's now got a +3 to intelligence, easily the smartest in the group; and a respectable +4 to strength, his main attack stat. Looking forward: Honestly, who knows what the story will bring narratively...but blood hunter is a really good class and higher level rogue abilities just don't do a ton for Chet. Anyway, Blood Hunter 9 gives you one of my favorite abilities ever, Grim Psychometry, in which you have advantage on knowledge checks (and possibly even cool visions) for places and objects with tragic or dark pasts.
Laudna: Laudna took a level in sorcerer, which means she gets a Hound of Ill Omen, a dire wolf-like beast of darkness she can summon to attack a particular person. She also learns 2 more spells and gains another sorcery point. I would strongly advise she take Counterspell, given that she tends to lean more towards low-level utility than Imogen's attacks (and, let's face it, eldritch blast is better than most sorcerer damage spells). Looking forward: Personally, from a purely mechanics perspective, I think leveling in warlock would be more interesting from here on out. Sorcerers just...don't get much outside of spells from levels 7-14, and Laudna's feats and existing metamagic and the fact that there's another sorcerer in the party mean some variety would be fun and welcome (and warlock levels 4-6 are really good), but I get the appeal of Hound of Ill Omen for sure.
FCG: FCG gains access to 5th level spells and can prepare one more spell! Greater Restoration and Raise Dead are now available to them, which is pretty game-changing, and I'd love to see Sam try out Commune to get some actual answers from the Changebringer. He also gets two domain spells, which are unknown since it's a homebrew class. Looking forward: Cleric's just a really solid class! I'm interested to see how divine intervention works on a cleric who is still finding their god, and please get that WIS score up to a +4 at L12.
Fearne: Fearne leveled in druid, which means she also gets an ASI and has maxed out her casting stat of wisdom - this in turn means she can prepare two more spells than before (one from the higher druid level and one from the higher casting stat). She also gets the ability to wildshape into flying creatures, up to challenge rating 1. Looking forward: I would really not pursue rogue any further; Wildfire druid is just such a great class. Things to look forward to: at L9 druid (L10 overall) she'll get 5th level spells including Mass Cure Wounds as a circle spell; at L10 druid she'll get a cool bonus to damage or healing as a class feature; and at L11? Pick a tree.
Imogen: Imogen learns one new spell, which can be up to 5th level, and gains a 5th level spell slot and a sorcery point. She gets Telekinesis and Rary's Telepathic Bond as subclass features. As for her new spells: given the loss of the skyship, teleportation circle would be a good one to have on hand. Greater Invisibility would also be a strong choice. Looking forward: As noted with Laudna, there's not a ton going on until L14, but she does get a new metamagic ability next level (subtle spell feels very thematically appropriate), and I would in fact enjoy seeing Imogen cast Chain Lightning very much when she gets 6th level spells at L11.
Orym: Orym gets Indomitable, which allows him to reroll a failed saving throw and use the new number. Looking forward: 9's a quiet level for him but the next few are big ones. He gets two more battle master moves and his superiority dice go up to d10s from their current d8s; 3rd attack is at L11; and he gets another feat at L12, and I would love to see Mage Slayer.
Ashton: Ashton gains brutal critical, meaning that they can roll an additional weapon damage die when they crit. Looking forward: level 10 is a subclass level, so who knows, but I'm excited to find out!

this is your sign to go WILD!!!! this is unprompted and I've only found out about your blog TWO SECONDS AGO and I do NOT know ANYTHING EVER you should talk about your ocs and go on unhinged rants about it um gabriel ultrakill told me so
thank you Gabriel ultrakill. Meanwhile (coughs)

i have a few for transformers! Star Seeker brothers Starwalker (left) and Starvoid (right) are known for being very, very fast in battle and relying on each other (they’re rarely seen apart, and Starwalker usually speaks for Starvoid).
Wolfram has had the outlier ability to generate Energon crystals since creation. Because of this, she was a student in Senator Shockwave’s Outlier Academy before the war, and was notably close to Damus and Amp (the three had plans to become Amica Endurae). She used her Energon-creating abilities in her later career as a medic — where she would be infected with a virus that left her half-transformed in her wolf beast mode, vampiric, and slowly dying. Her outlier ability warped into being able to manipulate the energon inside a bot’s veins to crystallise and explode out from their body, or freeze them in place so she could feed on them.
The virus would weaken her spark continuously, and as she drew closer to death she regained her mind bit by bit to become more aware of her surroundings. She would die from this spark failure, fully aware of what she’d become. she also had a husband and son (ambulon and russet)
The Geiger-counter cougar Gei-grr is sapient, but prefers to communicate in beeps and clicks to speaking. He’s very sturdy and is good with kids.
The neutral catsette Keyframe works with Agonizer / aka The Curator at his museum. Keyframe is very fond of archiving and that’s exactly what he does, acquiring rare items and lots of data discs. He has a large collection of footage from the war, and has done business with Rewind before.
In a timeline where Mori escapes from the DJD and isn’t captured afterwards — during the events of Dying of The Light, Mori reaches the Necroworld just after the Lost Light Crew discover that the Necrobot was murdered. He then hesitantly joins them and bonds with Ravage (who is the brother of his adopted father, Glit) and participates in the battle as much as he can.
After the end of the battle and the DJD are dead, Mori gains the ability to see ghosts, and takes on the Necrobot’s job of robot grim reaper.
Sillygoose used to be a bot named Ptarmigan, something they don’t know or remember but is beginning to recollect. Ptarmigan was captured and experimented on by an unknown bot who partnered with the mnemosurgeon Skybound, who had confessed love for Ptarmigan but was rejected. Extremely bitter, Skybound wiped Ptarmigan’s memories and personality completely after an experimental surgery was performed on their spark by the unknown bot.
A catastrophic accident occured at the secret facility Ptarmigan’s surgery and shadowplay was done, moments after it was completed. This gave the confused, nameless, self-less bot an opportunity to escape into the world and rebuild a new identity for themself - named Sillygoose.

Emma Terreal is a sin-eater I played for a Chronicles of Darkness game that included a Hunter, a Beast, a Changeling, a Mage, and my Sin-Eater.
She was made using Geist 1st edition and I had expected that when Geist 2nd edition came out (about 4 years ago now) that it would be a relatively easy conversion. And I was wrong.
While some mechanics did change, that's not the primary issue that slowed me down revamping her. A lot of the terminology in the Lore change. Most important of all "Reapers", who in 1st edition were a player faction, were now an NPC faction. Which affected me because Emma was a Reaper in 1st edition.
So, what's the difference?
Well, in 1st Edition, Reaper was a philosophy of how some Sin-Eaters approach dealing with the living and the dead. They were all about justice, writing wrongs, punishing sins, and all that sort of stuff. Not necessarily involving violence. A Reaper financial expert, for example, might leverage their expertise in getting money to charities or people down on their luck and... diverting it from business owners abusing their employees. Also, the Reapers are equally concerned with the living and the dead. It's very much "reaper" as in "Reap what you Sow".
In 2nd Edition, however, the Reapers denote a group that feels ghosts don't belong in the world of the living. Which could be fine if they went about their task humanely. But from what I can tell, they generally show up, beat up a ghost, drag them to the underworld, and toss them out in a random spot bereft of aid or explanation. They're very much reaper as in "Grim Reaper" and not the guy from Discworld.
But I think now it's time to redesign her for the 2nd edition.
Step One - Concept
The game advises figuring out who the character was before they died and what they're like now that they've died. And I have a clear image of this, as this isn't really that much different between the two editions.
In life, Emma was an accountant working as a personal banker for a local branch that existed in a particular part of the town such that it had clients from both businesses and the working class. She was nervous and worried about her own continued survival and so she mostly kept her head down even as she began to suspect that something shady was going on in the bank. Her breaking point came when her boss forced her to communicate a decision to a poor couple that would shatter their lives. From that point she began to investigate and study and she thought she was getting somewhere.
That's when the robbery happened. It came after hours when she was working late. The thieves killed one of the security guards and locked her in the vault, shutting off the fans. By morning she'd suffocated and made her deal with The Auditor.
After death, Emma has found it difficult to express or handle emotions. She is dour, her voice lacks intonation, and she is angry. Very, very angry.
Emma suspects that her bank president was working with the robbers and that she was targeted, but has no proof, either for herself or anybody else.
This comes to Aspirations. She needs three, two short-term, one long-term.
Short-Term - Tell a funny joke.
Short-Term - Help someone in need.
Long-Term - Prove for herself whether her boss is a villain or not
Step Two - Attributes
This is a matter of prioritizing. In this case, the damage she took when dying has made socializing very difficult for Emma, so Social is her tertiary. She's also still primary about intelligence, so Mental is Primary, which leaves Physical as Secondary.
Each attribute gets 1 dot for free. Primary gets 5 more dots, Secondary 4, and Tertiary 3.
Mental: Intelligence 3, Wits 2, Resolve 3
Physical: Strength 2, Dexterity 2, Stamina 3
Social: Presence 1, Manipulation 1, Composure 4
I'm not usually one for such heavy low scores, but I do love the idea that her changes have made her able to handle emotions very well, but expressing herself is extremely difficult.
Step Three - Skills
Similar, this is a matter of prioritizing. And this is actually going to be a little bit different. Emma is new to all this thing with fighting and sneaking, so Physical is going to be her low priority. Mental is still going to be the biggest priority, but as much as her near death a emotional and physical trauma have changed her personality, she still has skills for interacting with people.
Primary (Mental) gets 11 dots, Secondary (Social) gets 7 dots, and Tertiary (Physical) gets 4 dots. Skills all start at 0 dots.
Mental - Academics 2, Computer 1, Investigation 3, Occult 1, Politics 2, Science 2
Physical - Athletics 1, Firearms 2, Stealth 1
Social - Empathy 3, Intimidation 1, Persuasion 1, Socialize 1, Subterfuge 2
Step Four - Skill Specialties
She gets three specialties so:
Investigation - Finances
Empathy - Identifying Needs
Firearms - Pistol
Step Five - Adding the Sin-Eater Template
This is a lot of steps bundled into one thing. The first of which is "The Burden" which deals with what driving need binds the Sin-Eater to life. This one is obvious.
The Vengeful - She was murdered and she seeks to address that.
Burden Aspiration - Punish an Evil
Now come Root and Bloom which are what replaces Virtues and Vices for a Sin-Eater. This represents how the the character deals with the Dead (Root) and the Living (Bloom). I'm going to use the pre-made versions for now.
Root - The Anti-Hero
Bloom - The Advocate
In this case, the Anti-Hero tends to ignore rules and advances on their objectives directly without caring much in the way of politics or societal expectations. And when dealing ghostly matters, Emma is the sort to shoot a hole in someone's foot to make a point. However, she also hopes to make life better for people somehow.
Next we come to Touchstones
There's an issue here. An item heavily associated with Emma was "The Unending Account" which was connected to her Geist. Unfortunately, in 2nd edition Geist, the Remembrance Touchstone doesn't happen until Synergy 3... and characters start at Synergy 1 and have to spend a lot of resources to get past that.
I can sort of put it in as a Memento later when we come to Merits though. For her first Touchstone, I'm going with:
The Bank - There is something going on at the bank where she died. She doesn't believe the thieves showed up after hours when she was working late on accident. Somehow, her death was planned and it is hiding something more important than the life of a young accountant. She means to expose this secret and avenge her death.
The Synergy of a new Sin-Eater, the ability they have to cooperate with their Geist, starts at 1.
Haunts are the supernatural powers associated with the Sin-Eaters. A starting character gains three dots, two of which have to be associated with their Burden. For The Vengeful, that's Memoria, Curse, and their unique Haunt: Rage. So for Emma, she's also based on a joke for "Immaterial" so she's getting the Shroud because that's the Haunt associated with passing through walls. For the whole:
Memoria 1
Rage 1
Shroud 1
Next come Keys, which are modifiers to how the Haunts work and the first key is usually associated with how the character died. In Emma's Case, The Key of Blood certainly fits, but as her actual means of death was suffocation, I originally gave her the Key of Silence, but that seems to be in the Key of Cold Wind.
Key of Cold Wind
A Sin-Eater starts with full Plasm based on their Synergy, in this case 10.
Step Six - Merits
Now we're on to a new step and a new Sin-Eater gets one free Merit: Tolerance for Biology and 10 dots. So now we're going to assign some for Emma.
Tolerance for Biology
Professional Training 3: Accountant (Asset Skills: Investigation, Academics, Science), Contacts 2
Momento 3: The Unending Account
Resources 2
Retribution 1
Trained Observer 1
And lets build that Momento
Key - The Key of Stillness
Description - An ancient ledger that seems thin, but readers never come to the last page. The construction and style places it sometime in the 16th or 17th century and shows damage from extreme cold. The pages within are an accountant's ledger with strangely non-numeric values compared. A thin, struggling handwriting, as if written by someone on the last edges of their life, describes the deaths of people going back hundreds of years. Sometimes it continues to describe the knock-on effects of their death.
Effect - When studying the Unending Account you can learn things about the means and impacts of people's deaths. For unknown reasons, most of the recorded deaths happened on a Tuesday. In fact, Emma has found that the only recorded deaths that aren't on a Tuesday are deaths that she has witnessed or investigated since gaining the Account. The extent of information a person can get depends on their abilities to study.
Step Seven - Advantages
These are simple calculated stats.
Defense: 3
Size: 5
Health: 8
Willpower: 7
Initiative: 6
Speed: 9
And now, we're going to build the Geist, The Auditor.
Step One - Concept
A skeletal figure with abacus beads in their hair. They are obsessed with balancing accounts, something which they share in common with Emma.
Step Two - Remembrance
The sound of clacking wood and beads.
Step Three - Remembrance Trait
The Auditor's Remembrance Trait is a skill: Academics.
Step Four - Attributes
The Auditor, as a Geist, has simiplied stats of Power, Finesse, and Resilience. They have 1 dot for free each of these and 12 dots to distribute. I'm going to lean into the Auditor being about intelligence more than force.
Power 3
Finesse 7
Resilience 5
Step Five - Crisis Point Triggers
The Auditor needs a thing that will trigger an extreme reaction. It has to be a discrete event or moment of realization. So while they have a general distaste for inequity is not appropriate. Instead I'm going to go for, False Witness. Not lying, but entering falsehood into an official report or testimony. Up til then, the Auditor may be convinced that inequities are an error, but once someone does that then it becomes deliberate.
Step Six - Ephemeral Entity Traits
Time to give the Auditor it's mechanics
Rank 3
Ban: Burning receipts will force The Auditor to leave the area.
Bane: Old coins (at least 50 years old)
Innate Key: Blood
Step Seven - Advantages
And back to the figured stats
Defense: 3
Initiative: 12
Speed: 10
And that's Emma Terreal and The Auditor.

Meanwhile, Luna took her kids over to grim quarry's community center. Piper decided to spook her baby brother by looking around in a worried way, waiting for Hamuera to be like what are you doing and then saying 'Hamuera, don't you know about the soybean yeti of Grims Quarry?' Hamuera’s eyes widened, and he was like 'wait, the what?' Piper went on in a hushed voice, '200 years ago, when the first founders of the settled rebuilt the old Quarry area into a bustling neighborhood, workers and landscapers claimed they saw a large hairy beast wandering around the edge of the forests. Higher ups tried to say it was a wolf or bear, but this thing was walking on two legs, and it didn't look like a usual animal, even from afar. One day, one of the workers woke up in his stonestreet apartment, the same one we used to live in before you were born, and all his soybean plants were gone, roots and all.’ Hamuera glanced over at his mom, who shook her head and laughed before telling him Piper was trying to spook him. Hamuera poked Piper on the forehead and was like nice try. Piper grinned and was like you believed it until mom told you it was fake. Hamuera scoffed, and was like no way, and he and Piper bickered a bit before their mom told them to knock it off. She was like come on, you two, let’s go feed the grubs and crickets and then you can help me tend the garden.
