The issue I’m having with all this discussion with daemon of how the crown is a burden and the price of power is exorbitant (blah blah blah) is that it’s trying to tell us some deep thematic element that simply is non-existent and downright contradicted in the show.

This whole show has been about the right (though it isn’t a right at all) to rule. Of this divine and prophetic purpose that is bestowed upon the heir. An undeniable right that should be wanted and fought for. We are supposed to cheer for Rhaenyra as she desperately fights to gain the power that she “rightfully” deserves. She is the heroine we support in her struggles of being deprived of her purpose and her crown. She WANTS it, so she DESERVES it. That’s what this whole show has been telling us.

And suddenly…we are told that’s not what’s right. The theme of this show is actually that wanting the crown makes you less deserving. The cost of power is too burdensome. Nobody should want this power. You only deserve a crown if you accept it as your burden.

And if that’s the theme we’re supposed to believe… then Long Live King Aegon II (Mr. teary eyes as he approaches the crown himself)

probably a very very hot take on this website but I kind of hate the fandom culture of taking two characters (not always but usually same sex) with a very deep or strong bond and going "omg they're so queercoded" "they're literally canon" when like 90% of the time the things they do yes, show a deep devotion to one another, but could just very much be read as platonic love. it's very amatonormative imo and paints romance as the ultimate and deepest form of love rather than just another type of it that can be equally as strong as platonicity.

my brainrot blorbo since literally February of this year is this stupid ass motherfucker. he started off initially as a hot pink haired succubus twink named Faye that I threw against a friend's serial killer OC (they're gay and in love (?)). eventually I redesigned him (left) because I wanted to flesh him out beyond Internet troll / weirdly successful vtuber

so he became known as Lilthaxia, and uses the name of Faye to blend in better with humans. I made him from a twink / twunk into a bear, made him tall as hell (he claims he's 6'9, but it's debatable if he's actually taller and really just wanted to make a sex joke with his height), made him fat with functional muscle underneath, and fully established him as a gay man in canon and to my friends. he is widely regarded in canon with my girlfriend as one of the hottest mother fuckers to walk the Earth

funnily enough he exists across two separate verses, and in both of them he's dating or married to a red headed twink. kind of a slay ngl

the difference between good whispangle and bad whispangle is the difference between trusting each other the most and only trusting each other. between getting stuck in the past or letting the future embrace you. between holding a close bond and being desperate for each other’s company. between being a pair and being a unit.

bad whispangle is tangle getting dragged into dwelling on the past with whisper, is tangle being made to overstep instead of minding the lines she should be able to see, and whisper sinking into a mire that tangle follows her into instead of pulling her from. is putting them together ‘because they’re whispangle’ and forgetting why they were loved together in the first place. is keeping them together because they’re whispangle, even when they trod on the other.

and the difference is,

that if it starts out bad and becomes better, it’s satisfying, heartening.

but to start out excellent and then get worse and decay, feels like a smear or a stain on top of a beloved work.

a natural decay can be done, but we want them to be good together, to bring out the best in each other instead of enabling the worst. if we want to see decay, it is because it makes sense for one or both of them to be driven off-balance and start messing with the other, we want one or both of them to realize this, and we want them to have to jump-start and kick aside and course-correct and come out all the better, for having broken their flaws open and mended them with gold.

we don’t want to see them broken apart and stuck back together with cheap glitter glue.

For those who are unsure of whether or not they really have the "sensitivity to cold" symptom of fibromyalgia, because you think that it's just you not being able to handle colder temperatures like other people, that's one way of putting it. The other way is, when it's winter and the temperatures start dropping, do you feel your pain more intensely? Do you feel like you have more problems with your joints? Is your partner always commenting how cold your fingers and toes are, but it somehow gets more frequent in winter? Those are other ways to consider being sensitive to the cold.

My favorite part about being still into Naruto is the way I'm into it means I frequently have to tell algorithms that I don't actually want to consume Naruto like they want me to.
