ELITE UPDATE 2: THREE SEASONS FINISHED

Ookayyy let's go so my first elite (let's say review) was after watching just 4 episodes and forming a holy shit amount of opinions for every character coz boy was I wrong..anyways I just finished 3 seasons of elite!.. like wow can't believe that. so let's talk about it. Firstly I get that this is a murder mystery show but like do we get someone or the other getting killed of in the end or like what? okay first things first I said some wild things about some of my babies and i really wanna retract my statement because these people are my babies.. guzman, lu, omar and ander lord i had absolutely no idea that there characters would be here now, like god! okay nadia and guzman I was shipping it then and I am shipping it now (although they broke up, but fuck that! they're still together for me) yeah, so like, believe me no one I repeat not a single person saw the whole nadia and lu friendship coming , like it literally hit me and I was like wha-

THE throuple ended, some people died and we got our second favorite couple - samuel and carla!! aghhh they were soo cute. love them so much! just fyi if you also love them, then don't see the short stories they literally broke up every single couple in there) now coming back to the elephant in the room- POLO*** jesus but I from a hundred miles away could not even think this was gonna happen, like my 1st update is evidence of that, I was so indifferent towards him coz I just didn't care! he was a sidekick imo but somehow this guy even after MURDERING someone made me feel sympathetic for him!! for a murderer like how did they do that!? Polo's death actually made me cry more than marina's ( never liked her but still). He was going through so much . He was in pain. like watching him struggle through life was insanely difficult and his mom supporting patriarchy after being in a lesbian relationship was another level of rage for me. But boy the guy did have a thing for throuples (I am still wrapping my head around the first one) ooh and newbies-- cayetana ,rebeka ( not sure i spelled it right), valerio (*heart eyes*) oh and emir ( idk if that's the name but carla's rich bf) These people somehow pulled the rug right out of my feet. Valerio was in the headlines in s2 and s3. Firstly s2 the whole thing with lu..ooh but that was a bit (no actually very much) weird. Let's not go there. Yeah and the whole cayetana thing..nicee ( as in story wise not in disrespecting your mother for her work wise) i don't really like her tbh but I have a strong gut feeling that I would eventually end up loving her. I still wanna say sorry to guzman. You're the best srsly. samuel I love you, but what you did to rebeka was wrong. So fuck you ( but like gently) yeah uhm rebeka.. okay so new story and lots of drama *widens eyes* obv I love her like how could anyone NOT love her. She's a total babe. ugh this is getting really long okay yeah so about my future elite plans...? none for now, I feel like s3 ended on a good note for me. And if I am being honest. I dug up a bit and found out that samuel and guzman have some beef over a girl in s4 and I am def not in the mood for seeing there friendship get messed up. So yeah for now it's a goodbye to elite. I feel like there should be one more update coz I missed some major plot points like the whole ander and omar thing, and nadia's dad and yeah lu and party scene but *shrugs* let's see.

Elite’s Season 5 Ending *Contains Spoilers*

Was anyone else incredibly let down and disappointed by the ending of this season? It was known going into this season that it would be the last for the characters of Samuel, Cayetana, Omar, and Rebeka yet they didn’t really have goodbye storylines/scenes like Guzman and Ander got last season. The average person watching wouldn’t even realize that those characters are no longer going to be in the show. This probably means that next season they will get a passing comment saying what happened to them/where they went, or they won’t even be mentioned at all. I’m also still annoyed that Guzman basically peaced out after commuting murder last season, while Samuel took the fall (which is exactly what I said would happen).

Now let’s talk the “death” of the season. First of all WTF was that? Were the similarities to Marina’s death supposed to represent a full circle moment for the shows lead character? The fact that the man Samuel saw as a father figure was the one to do this to him was just dirty, Samuel never has good things happen to him. Is it an ambiguous ending? We don’t exactly see one way or the other what the outcome is. The police come and arrest Benjamin, but what about Samuel? It definitely doesn’t look good with the actor not returning and his character bleeding out for a while before anyone shows up. However, we don’t see if an ambulance or a coroners van shows up. You’d think they would show him being taken away in an ambulance and either being pronounced dead or making it in time to be saved. You also would think they would show him being zipped into a black bag by the coroner. Yet we don’t see either. We also don’t get to see someone telling his next of kin (his mother and Nano) if he’s dead, or see a funeral for him. With the previous main character deaths of Marina and Polo, we saw all of those things. Is this something that will be wrapped up in another short story? If he’s alive, then will we see him in the hospital, possibly reuniting with some old friends, and then moving away? If he’s dead, then will we see his funeral with the possible return of people like Carla, Nano, and Guzman? Or will this all be answered by Ari or someone else making a comment about her father killing her boyfriend or the principle killing a student?

I’m personally hoping that against all odds he manages to survive and reunites with Carla. They were always the shows best couple, and deserved a much better story and ending than the writers and showrunners ever gave them. Thinking about the alternative, where Carla has to burry yet another man she loved is just too devastating and sad. Also if he dies, it’s such an awful and sucky ending to his character, who’s pretty much been the shows punching bag throughout the entire series. Knowing this show though, he’s probably dead and will be quickly forgotten about by all the characters.

I haven’t seen season 4 of Elite and I never will, but from what I heard they really screwed everything up, didn’t they? They broke up guznadia, ruined omander (as if they hadn’t already done that in season 3), threw Guzman’s and Ander’s character development out the window and completely ignored the fact that in the short stories Samuel called Carla the love of his life and Guzman did the same with Nadia. They really just destroyed all the three main ships and for what? This season should have never been created and the show should have ended with season 3. For me that’s what happened as I’m going to ignore the canon from now and on.

ELITE SEASON 4 REVIEW

as an og fan of élite who’s been binging every single season on the day it came out, i watched the fourth season yesterday. here’s my thoughts. obviously includes spoilers for both the new season and some short stories.

the short stories of carmuel and caye/rebe/guzman were the best for me.

the new characters were… uh… how do i put this nicely

ari is the new lu. but less interesting. hated her at first, felt kinda sorry for her at the end though.

mencía is a cardboard copy of miss marina. 🙄

idk how to feel about their dad?? uhhh

i was really hyped for phillipe’s character (idk how to spell it i’m sorry lmao) but man what a letdown.

ya know what… i really liked cayetana this season! i felt neutral about her before but i rlly liked her this season. wish she’d had more screen time.

THEY BUILT UP GUZNADIA FOR THREE SEASONS ONLY FOR THEM TO BREAK UP WITHIN THREE EPISODES AND HAVE GUZMÁN GO AFTER A DIFFERENT CHICK?? W H A T

i liked ander back in season 1… but his character just becomes less and less likeable over the seasons. fight me.

shoutout to samu’s hair this season. hot.

okay but what the fuck was up with all the fucked up relationships this season?? omander. carmuel. guznadia. samu and guzmán. samu and rebe’s friendship, which come on, could’ve gone back to the way it was back in s2.

i cannot stress this enough: FUCK LOVE TRIANGLES. for me it worked in season 1 with carla/polo/christian because they actually seemed to be into polyamory and it actually benefited the fucking plotline around covering up marina’s murder. but that was it. AND THEY HAVE ONE OR TWO EVERY SEASON. it’s exhausting. jesus.

HEY BY THE WAY… what happened to la inspectora from the first three seasons? ma’am?? where you at?? the kids fucked up again and someone nearly died. then someone actually died.

the mystery this season was so fucking dull. like i forgot what was even going on kinda dull. the interrogation scenes were not nearly as compelling as in the previous seasons, they didn’t give you chills, didn’t make you wonder what the hell happened.

you don’t even need a murder mystery to make it interesting. season 2 was my favorite season, and there was no murder mystery — samuel had gone missing. his disappearance and the interrogation scenes were interesting, no one saw the guzmán teamup coming or his relationship with carla. it was exciting and thrilling and this season did not have that even a little bit.

solid plot twist. i’ll give them that. i did not really see that whole armando storyline coming, although i did figure out he had something to do w it because they kept him around for so long.

at the end after guzmán shot that mf in the back i was like NO DONT LEAVE THE BODY?? and then i saw he and samu and someone else i think (i don’t even remember man) dropped his body into the lake. i liked that, reminded me of the trophy.

the fuck is up with the fasion getting more and more extra this season? compare the party outfits from season 1 to the ones we have now. a little extra is good, but now they’re just plain ugly. anyway s1 and s2 fashion >>>

that one scene in the restaurant where guzmán spoke of marina and the way she was as a person and a daughter… that was so well written. i feel like so many people (the writers included) forgot about marina bc she was the first to die and only appeared in season 1, but still. like this teenage boy lost his sister (and so much more) in such a short span of time. i’m glad they at least acknowledged it.

dude… obviously i know that the show isn’t realistic at all but these kids have been through so much. guzmán has been through the worst shit. losing his little sister to murder and then his best friend as well? seeing him die in his fucking arms? and the other kids? they’re still teenagers man. it is beyond wild to think that they’d be as carefree as they were displayed to be this season.

obviously that joke rebe made in the short story about not being able to take any more interrogations and murders and shit was, well, a joke, and it was delivered well, but if you think about it… come ON. they’ve been through hell and back. the show has never been just light-hearted, it has dealt with several serious issues and deaths and murders and things like that. these kids are broken. why couldn’t they have shown more of that? or at least acknowledged it a little? have someone go to fucking therapy??

i thought overall the whole season was underwhelming. kinda boring.

before the season came out, someone said that they didn’t think the show could thrive without carla, lu, nadia, valerio, polo… and i agree now.

i feel like this season had such a different vibe than the previous seasons. not in a good way.

i miss season 1 and 2 man. those seasons had the best mystery, the best vibe, the best cast. i don’t just miss carla, lu, polo, valerio, nadia… i miss christian and nano as well.

even the soundtracks of the previous seasons were better. i’m sorry to sound this negative in the whole review but man i waited so long for the new season only to be disappointed.

Unpopular opinions

A lot of the people (mostly girls 🙄) that criticise Carla for breaking up with Polo because she’s “biphobic” are male identified and need to get over the fact that Carla has the self esteem to end a relationship with someone who betrayed her trust over some dick! (Idc if he was exploring 🤷‍♀️) and it was obvious from the start that miss Carla always called the shots and doesn’t play about cheating and betrayal. Carla tried to save their relationship with Christian and Polo ended that relationship with his betrayal with Christian. 🤷‍♀️

Lu and Guzman, had the potential to represent the social dynamics of the “ELITE” 🤷‍♀️ Lu had more legitimacy than Guzman in terms of status and birth. Although foreign, she is a diplomat’s daughter, upper class white Latina who probably comes from a descendant of Hispanic conquistadors in her family tree, hence her status and wealth. Guzman’s family was rich, now corrupt and he’s only claim to his status was by his adoptive family. The show did a disservice to Lu and what she meant to Guzman. It made sense as to why they were together, he needed her on his arm to be fully accepted into “their” world. That’s why Guzman was so insecure and made those unnecessary xenophobic, classist remarks because he knew he was not “equal” to Carla, Polo and even the foreign Lu. If his birth parents didn’t overdose, he would’ve never been apart of that world. Albeit toxic there should’ve emphasized on why Lu believed her and Guzman were the power couple she always thought they were.

Guzman and Nadia is not the pure 🥺🥺🥺 they keep pushing around. Guzman “changed” for his love for Nadia but can’t even defend her when Lu says something racist and islamophobic around her 🤔 💀 it’s built on chliches so your expected to like it but it’s ultimately Guzman has a soft spot for the poor Nadia, after trying to set her up to get raped and humbled for Lu and only stopping coz she’s drugged 🙄 and he falls for her so yayyyyyyy Nadia is the therapist that helps the deranged white boy 👏👏👏 bad boy x good girl is so cringe and disgusting when the “bad boy” is only soft for ONE person 🤮 “he’s toxic but his love for y/z tho 😍😍” Nadia’s character had a lot of potential if they used this romance to highlight problematic social issues and ideas but yeh it kinda peaked s1. I felt like Nadia could’ve been a better change in Guzman if she pushed him to unlearn his toxic masculinity and beliefs but I also don’t want her story to be revolved around a relationship.

Polo x Ander would be too self destructive to work 🤷‍♀️ And they prefer their friendship

Polo x Ander x Guzman - This friendship was sooooo forced pls 😭 they grew out of eachother and Guzman just wanted to control them 💀 Ander checked out a long time ago and Polo stayed because he’s a coward. It should’ve stayed in primary school and just brought up for nostalgia 🤷‍♀️ Polo x Ander were obviously closer because they wanted Guzman to back off them so yeh

We didn’t need to see Samuel simping for Carla after he used her to find the truth 🤷‍♀️ these rich toxic girls are no good, especially with their corrupt fathers, you learnt that with Marina, Samuel 🤦🏾 this bitch had Nano incarcerated and snitched on Christian, nearly killing him💀 Samuel falling for Carla’s damsel in distress victims card made him very nieve again 🙄 Samuel’s and Carla’s arch in s3 would’ve been better off exposing Theodore, Carla’s dad. Their dynamic would work since Carla wants her freedom from her father and Samuel would get justice for his old school and somewhat satisfaction for the pain that Carla’s dad caused which lead him to the hell that is Las Encina’s. Side note- Samuel’s character would’ve been better following his s1,ep1 arch, when he was outraged at Marina’s father for covering up and causing his old school’s collapse, but instead they made him fall for the rich, white damsel in distress girls like Marina and Carla, evading them of their actions and consequences 😐

Lu x Nadia was bad writing 🤷‍♀️ if you thought Nadia couldn’t get any dumber, she befriends and gives half her scholarship to Lu... the same girl who gave her a reason to even apply for her scholarship 😭 pls Elite, Lu never even apologised to Nadia and will likely ditch her when she encounters a group of “Latinos por Trump” in New York 😍

Valerio and Nadia had potential with the chemistry they had and I bet those too can actually kiss better than Guzman and Nadia mess...

Omar needed to leave Ander for his own mental health and independent storyline but the writers prefered Omar as Ander’s punching bag 🤷‍♀️ Omar getting accepted by his parents in s3 is a better storyline that should’ve been used than his struggles with Ander and Malick 👏

Cayetana and Polo should’ve been had the Bonnie and Clyde arch to thow everyone under the bus and get away with some short of bit of a happy ending 🤷‍♀️ Valerio was only included into their relationship because him and Lu were done and his Christian 2.0 story was done 😘 It would’ve been interesting and fun to watch Valerio using and betraying Polo and Cayetana, as Valerio’s s3 arch instead of the reused throuple relationship. I barely believed the throuple because Caye seems possessive over Polo and would do anything for him...even having threesomes 😐 yunno she kinda parallel Christian with the whole joining a throuple for one person 🤔

Have to make a post , since I am amazed how much power carmuel has over me.

I always saw gifs from the show on my dashboard and my sister told me to watch elite years ago but I started it and grew board halfway through the second episode, stopped watching it and never thought of it again . Then a month ago I stumbled upon the carmuel short story trailer on Instagram and was hooked. ( because let’s face it that trailer is amazing it has the chemistry,the looks, the angst & that song was the perfect choice 🔥)

I feel in love with Carla and Samuel through that short story trailer and then started to watch elite again ( don’t get me wrong I still struggled with the first four episodes of season 1 but after the fourth episode ? I was addicted ). I fell in love with this ridiculous over the top show that still managed to have good writing and all the feels and amazing friend -& relationships . Season 2 is perfection to me for many reasons ( it’s just a master piece & not just because of carmuel 👌🏻) . But I also really loved season 3 ( yes even the ending !! I was bawling my eyes out through the whole last episode. That episode emotionally destroyed and healed me) and I actually enjoy season 3 a whole lot more than season 1 (& I stand by that ). now I’m here overly emotionally invested in Carmuel & still crying over that short story from yesterday & wondering why the fuck I didn’t watch it sooner ? They just are something else …

hi! to those who are saying carla deserved better than samuel. can u think of a reason to justify it? cause honestly ive thought abt it and the man literally kept being there for carla even though it was also painful to hear carla’s insults to get him to back off. at the end of the day, he’s still there. he may have his own flaws and upbringings (i’m clearly annoyed by them, no excuses but yeah i understand them) and i do think he’s still a worthy man. especially when he overcomes his insecurities. do u have the same thoughts?

for me, aside from insecurity, probably samuel’s main problem is he can’t really be alone. or at least he doesn’t try to be alone. he keeps on moving onto the next that’s probably why he keeps getting hurt. (which is understandable because the man literally have no one to look after him or guide him, no support system) which is why i wish his story in s5 would really focus on his development. (the new director giving him an emotional intelligence book is definitely spot on) that would be a great gift to him, for someone who’s been through much in just two years 😂

so random, it just crossed my mind cause out of all the elite men, i think he’s the faithful one, can be too stubborn and reckless though.

hahaha i’m just here analyzing his character because he’s underrated for being one of the most realistic people in the show.

clearly, i’d like him to end up with carla but yeah that’s a long way to go to.

samuel is definitely not without his issues but neither is carla. anyone who thinks she can do better clearly does not understand their characters or real relationship issues at all, we have to remember that individually they’ve been through a lot and samuel has more than enough reason to be insecure when he’s used to coming in second. he even still has no idea that carla was with yeray (someone far richer than him) because she was forced to and not because she actually wanted to, so that’s also on carla as well as her fear of constantly hurting him. but samuel is the only person who has ever treated carla like a human being and not some concept or ideal, he just doesn’t fully feel as if he’s worthy of her and thats okay right now. everyone tends to forget that they’re extremely young as well

and you’re right that he doesn’t necessarily cope with his problems i’d honestly say he’s as bad as carla if not worse on that front. he tends to focus on her issues more than his own, and i do believe the random ari thing was probably a way to cope/get over carla. so i do hope he works on himself in s5 as well because it would be a nice ending to his arc (if he hopefully leaves the show and leaves it safe and free at that)

my thing is yes i would like an ending where it’s implied he goes to london on that scholarship and reconnects with carla but also a reunion in the future (i picked 7 years in the reunion fic because it’s poetic as all hell) is beautiful as well because they’d be more mature with new life experiences but they’re always going to have that thing tying them together. once again, people like to forget that they’re both young and scared. it would be unrealistic for them to be all happily ever after in the shorts without working on themselves first

Can I psychoanalyze you a little? You seem to hate everything "rushed, unexpected" (Nadia/Lu, Carla/Samuel, Nadia/Guzmán) and love everything "established, with tradition/history" (Polo/Carla, Lu/Guzmán, Lu/Valerio, childhood sweethearts sa. Carla/Guzmán). That's why you don't like most of the (romantic) storylines on the show, because they happen too quickly. But the show has 8 episodes/season. You don't seem to like change, but that's what drives stories forward. Just something to think about.

Haha, interesting! I like all kinds of backgrounds for ships, doesn’t have to be established at all — see my random AO3 works. Basically I like intriguiging chemistry, and yes sometimes an established backstory compliments that!

I don’t like excusing lack of character development and making characters act completely out of character by saying something is short, that’s pretty silly since shorter shows or even 90 minute long movies pull it off effortlessly! let me put the rest behind a cut so it won’t clog up anyone’s dashboard 

You can drive stories forward while staying true to characters, but Elite prefers maximum #drama hence the super annoying Guznadia back and forth 😅 I don’t think me not liking that has anything to do with me not liking change because they had the same annoying “relationship” for three seasons? It was totally ok in S1 too, I just got VERY bored of it, especially when they stopped letting Nadia be fierce and kind of a badass by being opinionated.

To be honest I just think most canon relationships on the show were ruined by very poorly done character development. I have no issues with change and I can see scenarios in which most canon ships would actually work very well, the canon verse is just not that 😂 your point about the show only having 8 episodes fits in here: some writers know how to develop characters in a miniseries format, and some chase cheap drama thrills and forego authenticity for it!

Hot Take on Elite Season 2 - PART 1/2

I was going to make this a ‘Short Review’ but I feel like this won’t be short. 

Quick Feelings on Season 1. What I enjoyed about the first season was the at the end the three main characters (Samuel, Nadia, Christian) have all changed. Goofy Christian has betrayed his best friend for entrance into higher society - and is filled with guilt, Nadia is broadening her horizon - not being homophobic or narrow-minded - and stands up in front of her dad, while Samuel has lost his naivety and humbleness to become a vengeful badass. 

First up, Christian breaks within the first minutes (wanting to confess) and is then promptly shipped away - I’m guessing this is because the actor needed to leave. But I want to focus on three points.. 

Murder Mystery: Main Focus Samuel

There is so much hate for Samuel’s character in the fandom. I kind of get it, cause he was wimpy in the last season. However, I thought they would make his shift drastic. I expected him to have a crazy conspiracy board with red strings connecting student’s year book photos and playing mind games with everyone. 

He has been lied to by everyone; the girl who he lost his virginity to, and was in love with, was pregnant with his brother’s child - oh and she was murdered. So you can see this character hating everyone at this school and wanting to see them burn. I expected DARK Samuel, what we got was more was more Samuel 2.0. 

WHAT HAPPENED: So, he believes Carla knows something about what happened and he plans to get close to her. Rebecca (new character) doesn’t think he has the skill to pull it off. Carla obviously knows what is up and this leads to both of the being FBuddies - oh but Samuel catches feelings and believes Carla couldn’t possible know anything. This is very Season 1 Samuel, head over heels for a pretty rich girl. Later we see that Carla has also caught feelings for Samuel. Though I (surprisingly) did end up liking the two together, i thought it was forced. When the started to let their guard down - it was actually nice. Still and Lu and Samuel shipper though. 

EXPECTATIONS: It would have been interesting to see Samuel just manipulate Carla with a disregard to her feelings, and everyone else telling him he’s going too far. It would be cool to see Carla thinking she could use her body to shut him up, but then truly let her guard down only to find out he was just playing her. Have Samuel set this master plan where he is manipulating everyone. Have him play on the ‘poor boy’ act and get people thinking he is not a problem, but really he is just lying and playing them. He says it’s to save Nano, but really he’s just angry at Marina for not choosing him and then dying - aka no closure. If he would have been ‘good enough’ than, this wouldn’t have happened. Maybe have the end with Carla, how she actually was real with him and he realises that he became like those he hated. 

POSITIVES: Saying that, I did enjoying two things - Rebecca having feelings for damaged Samuel, and Guzman and Samuel’s friendship at the end. 

Additional Characters: Flowers in Valerio’s Attic

Before I start talking about him, the other new characters. I did like Rebecca, though she had only a handful of scenes, I enjoyed her character. I liked her morals - she stopped her mother from saying Cayetana’s a cleaner -. I liked her relationship with others - omar and nadia - and there was this very human moment with her when she dressed as a princess to be more appealing to Samuel, but then changed when she realised that there was no point. She knew who she was and that he didn’t want that - so F him. 

Cayetana was a cliched story line that reminded me of a less sympathetic Feriha from Adını Feriha Koydum. That would actually have been better, if she saw how the school treated the scholarship kids and let everyone assume that she was rich. Though I understand that she kind of played a big part in the last episode and will most likely play a bigger part next season - her character was... ehh....

Now... 

Okay, when the whole Flowers in the Attic thing happened with Lu and Valerio and he responded ‘HALF siblings!’, I prayed that there was a ‘lost in translation’ thing happening with my subtitles and really the meant ‘step’. Nope. Half siblings. This was weird and uncomfortable. Here are some quotes that were written to make us side with Valerio? This section is filled with sarcasm. 

“It’s not like we’re planning to have kids.” -Yeah, cause that’s the only issue we are having.

“You can’t blame someone for how they feel,” that’s something a pedo would say. 

“Have you ever loved someone but couldn’t be with them because of society,” - No, it’s not society - it is also illegal. 

Grossness aside... I liked Valerio’s character. HERE ME OUT! The story is creepy, but the ending paid off. 

This is how I see it, the show never out right says it, so I’m extracting all this. I feel like this happened early on (before the beginning of Elite). Valerio is prob the black sheep and none of his parents care about him, only his sister. Lu is angry at Guzman or something and sneaks into Valerio’s room. Valerio, having only been cared for by Lu, thinks this is true love. However, she shuts him down later, and he thinks it’s because of society. 

What I’m saying is that Valerio is a messed up character who most likely had a bad childhood and found refuge in Lu. What I liked in the end was that he sees who she who truly was. She was laughing at him in front of her dad, not standing up for him. It was like she fell from a pedestal and then he saw her as a sibling. It was good. The actor did an amazing job with every emotion and scene. Can’t wait to see him in the next season - with a new love interest and not Nadia, please.

thoughts on all elite short stories except for the first one

soooo let's start from nadia and guzmán, shall we?

- some parts of this episode were relatable to me. me and my first boyfriend, now ex boyfriend, were in a long distance relationship for a while. once he surprised me by randomly visiting me and i was sooooooo happy so it surprised me to hear nadia's explanation on why she didn't want to see guzmán. but i guess it fits with her character

- can we talk about how beautiful she was in that dress? i feel like we don't talk about it enough

- i expected this episode to be a lot more passionate, honestly i did not come here for an "average kiss". it feels like they're preparing a setup for something Not That Good in s4

- i'm going to miss nadia

ok let's move on to omar, ander, alexis

- sooooo ep1 was the only elite episode that made me laugh, ep2 was the only one i could relate to and this one is the only elite episode that got me thinking about life and death and deep stuff

- alexis is a sweetheart, he is so mature, he doesn't deserve to end up like this

- i want to give ander a big hug, he deserves it, i feel like i'm going to see him deal with survivor's guilt again in s4 and i don't want to see him in pain

- that ending scene destroyed me

- every other character does act like a teen every once in a while, she always acts like a complete, fully formed adult with a stick up her butt

- maybe the only minute in which i liked her was the one in which she took the stick out of her butt and finally admitted she has Feelings

- the scenes with Samuel in the airport somehow gave me How I Met Your Mother vibes idk why

- anyway they never worked as a couple and they never will, they have sexual chemistry but they cannot have a proper conversation and the drinking game scene showed that

- i'm kinda glad that carla is not on the show anymore

Elite Short Stories Review - Carla Samuel (SPOILERS)

I still can't express in enough words what I felt watching their episode, it was a mixture of fear, laughter, joy, sobbing, it was definitely a roller coaster. I live tweeted on twitter and I can say that we all suffered together. Well, in my first post that you can find here I wrote some theories, some I was lucky enough to get it right and some not, but it's still worth it.

First Episode - PURE COMEDY. carmuel discussing like a married couple in the middle of an airport was light, fun, with a bit of pain and insecurity about what was going to happen, whether Carla was going to stay or not.

Samuel using his cheesy lines that work on Carla and were working on me, but I agree with my other besties that overconfidence in Samuel seems...weird. I think there were moments they ended up exaggerating, however, it could be the characteristics of a new Samuel that they can develop at s4 (funny because in the third episode his insecurity ended up showing, we'll talk about that later on). A moment to mention him telling the airport worker that Carla was the love of his life, yes he did!

Carla, she was amazing. You can tell she was happy to see him (have you ever imagined that probably no one else went to the airport to say goodbye to her? don't mind me, lonely Carla touches me). However, even though she was happy, she was pushing him away, and we all know why. She's still afraid of hurting the people around her as a result of the last few seasons, but, by fate and Samuel's pickup lines, she "decided to stay".

Second Episode - INTENSE, HOT, ANGST, LOVE. They playing truth or dare was so well done and written, I spent the entire scene smiling. I loved the focus they put on Carla's face when she walked back into his apartment after so long because this is her refuge, a place where she feels safe.

In this episode we had a Samuel who wanted to understand why Carla wanted to leave so much and this curiosity makes perfect sense, after all, he doesn't know what happened to her. So, all the time he tries to break her "ice heart".

Carla on the other hand didn't want to talk, because she knew that somehow if she talked maybe it would cause more problems, so she tries to throw him off the questions by playing her game which is her specialty, we have brat Carla here and I love this one side of her.

(The sex scene) - I still don't know how they didn't rate +18 because I blushed watching it, whoever directed the scene is to be congratulated, it was hot, sexy, passionate and explicit, but the background music didn't work for me, that piano it shouldn't have been there, the music in the trailer would have been better.

At the end of the episode it's so important because Samuel keeps questioning and Carla realizes that she couldn't just push him away with sex, so she feels trapped and hurts him with words, we get the first argument. Then Carla finally lets her guard down and speaks what she really felt, wanted and allows her to say out loud that she didn't want to leave and this is a big step in their relationship.

Third episode - FLUFFY, DOMESTIC, MARRIED AND ANGST CARMUEL. The episode already starts with domestic intimacy scenes, and I'm a fan of intimate touches and domestic intimacy scenes so the beginning of the episode was a feast, Carla wife material, it was so nice to see them in love and living the week of their lives.

In this episode we have arguments that add to their story, Samuel is working as a waiter, Carla shows up to surprise him and Samuel brings up the subject of Carla's parents and it bothered me, no, not Samuel's questioning but Carla not talking about what they made her do in s3, but I don't blame her either. She wanted to tell him, but she didn't know how. It's understandable, Carla doesn't know how to deal/talk about her feelings very well yet, but I thought that maybe with Samuel's pressure at some point she would break down and would talk, however, it didn't happen. All this "mistery" from Carla makes Samuel feel insecure, that he feels inferior to her and it is a valid thought, they grew up in different realities and Samuel doesn't want to be a new Christian, so they argue about it. Carla wants to help him financially (yes, besties, we've read fics with this plot) and Samuel with his pride doesn't accept it, they end up fighting.

At the end of the episode we have the most beautiful act of love I have ever seen in my life, the short was all poetic, however, Carla's audio broke me in pieces (that damn soundtrack). Carla did what she does, she would never put her own happiness above the happiness of a person she loves, in this case she realized Samuel's insecurity, for those who didn't understand, she was protecting him again. Of what? Getting hurt by her. They knew that at the moment they were not ready to be together, it's not the right time and as much as it broke me I understood, this is how you say goodbye. Certainly better than the one from s3, that in my opinion is not a "goodbye" but "maybe someday" and that is good enough for me. Carla finally says that she loves Samuel, Samuel is the most important thing that ever happened in her life and made her a better person (I'm gonna jump I swear).

Anyway, I loved the short, carmuel was amazing. They managed to pass the message of an impossible love, yes, but impossible at the moment. Both need to grow apart first to meet again in the future, this ending screams a future random encounter 5 years from now in some bar/party for fate. Samuel needs to work on his insecurity and his pride, learn to accept help and not hurt his pride. Carla needs to heal her scars, she needs to learn to put herself in first place and mainly accept that she can and deserves to be happy too, that we don't control the things around us. And both of them must learn to communicate better, for sure if they were mature enough, they wouldn't have broken up. But since Ester will not be in the next seasons, it was understandable. It was positive, and the question remains, s5 premieres possibly next year.
