Not sharing who said this because I do not hate them or anything, but this is so black and white, and toxic positivity: “endings are always followed by beginnings.”

No, life does not work that way. Life is an endless stream of unpredictable ups and downs.

When my friend died there was no new beginning. There were more endings. I couldn’t do school. I have a major trigger and can’t interact with media I used to, and I’m stuck with the same safe zone of media. I lost someone who was helping me with my anorexia, and my thoughts have gotten worse. These are not beginnings. They are also endings.

When I broke my leg I had many, many endings, and not new beginnings.

When my cat got sick there has been nothing but endings.

With my brain injury there are just endings.

What beginnings? I don’t believe that there is any cause and effect between these two, and to act like endings brings new beginnings is toxic and insincere. That sentence hurts.

It was so nice and cool and lovely when I went out this morning but by the time I was heading back home, the sun was beating down and I am now a sweaty mess

The vet office is just gonna have to deal with me in sweaty mess mode because I don't have the time and energy to shower before Leon's appointment

On that note, he nibbled at his breakfast a little bit. Here's hoping that he can keep it down and his tummy is starting to feel better 🤞🤞

Probably an unpopular opinion but oh well.

I kind of hate that holidays come with mandatory days off.

Like does everyone deserve a break to spend time with their families? Yes. I am not arguing that.

But the problem is that the world doesn’t shut down for the holiday. Just a large enough chunk to make a lot of people lives difficult.

I feel like for every holiday, some kind something important comes up and I can’t to anything but sit on my house and stew in dread and anxiety because the one place I need is closed.

My cat is sick. He needs to go to the vet. He’s not actively dying, he seems fine aside from, you know, the blood. But I’m worried as hell. And you know whose closed? The vet. The whole ass vet is closed because of the holiday.

Like. Imagine if an entire hospital closed. Or if all paramedics in a county got the day off. Sorry just don’t die today?

And yes emergency vets are open but they’re farther away, cost more money that we don’t have, and don’t have my cats medical records (he is a lucky if sickly boy).

So the vet is closed. You know what’s not closed? The spa I work at. I have a full schedule today.

And that’s fine. I don’t care that I have to work New Year’s Day. But it kind of irks me that I have to work, but vets don’t?

And you know why that irks me so so much? I called over a month ago to schedule my dogs spay appointment. They said no problem I’ll message the doctor and get you an invoice for the surgery.

Didn’t hear back for TWO WEEKS. So I called back. Oh sorry that doctor went on vacation when we sent that and she came but ope looks like she just left for another vacation sorry.

I had to go with a different surgeon. So the appointment got made. Much farther out than I would like but fine. Ok. It’s done.

So it bothers me because they can apparently take a month off whenever they damn well want and get every holiday off.

And maybe they earned that. Maybe I’m being too cynical and capitalistic. But you know what it’s hard to cheer for extra days off for people who make triple your income when they’re the only ones who can help your sick animal.

I know they work hard. I know they deserve time off. But animals don’t just stop getting sick because it’s a holiday.

Anyway. End rant. Not a good start to the year.

hello friends, i have to vent a little here. i apologize in advance.

so, my sweet girl snowbelle has been struggling with a condition called megacolon since we took her from a neglectful home several years ago. she has had consistent flareups and has had to be sedated multiple times to control her condition.

her condition has been well controlled for a few years now, and she usually only has to be sedated twice a year at this point.

she will be going to the vet tomorrow for her second flareup this year and she has developed some other new issues along with the normal ones. i am so worried for her and if i could, i would ask yall to please keep her in your thoughts when she is at the vet and during her recovery. she is my entire world and it pains me so deeply to see her in any amount of discomfort.

if yall have any words of positivity or encouragement, feel free to leave them on this post. i would be very grateful for any kind words.

One thing that bugs me every time i rewatch tlok is that one scene in book 3 where tenzin tells korra about the time when she was little, explaining how the red lotus tried to kidnap her. So, he, korra's father, sokka, and zuko went to rescue her and stopped the attack, locking the red lotus in their respective prisons.

Although my little zukka brain thrives with the fact that zuko is supposedly just there, chilling in the south pole post-retirement or whatever, i really think it would have been much better if insted of him, it was katara the one fighting alogside the others. It would have made so much more sence because one- she is one of the most powerful waterbenders on earth therefore totally has the power and skills to stand againts the red lotus, and two- yes, you can argue that she might still be greeving over her husband's passing but i think if sokka, zuko and tenzin were able to be there and help in the battle it wouldn't be much of problem for katara to be with them too. Aang is best friend and a family to both sokka and zuko and tenzin's literal father. If they were ready and willing to fight, so could she.

And isn't trying to protect korra also trying to protect her family in some sort of way? Katara was clearly very enthusiastic about teaching korra waterbending as a child, why won't she stand up against the red lotus for her, too?

It's disheartening to see how both the comics and tlok seem to sideline katara's character as if her contributions were not significant. Like she just isn't that important in the first place. It’s just awfully depressing tbh.

Two half-bodies down, six to go! I just caught the worst cold of my life today, so this is a little sloppy and partially rushed (so I might redo it…), but it’s done, and I’m happy with it for now!

I headcanon Sarah as the original vessel for Skully, and Seth as the founding member of totheark, so for these guys’ little bits of background symbolism, I put in Skully in the shadows behind Sarah’s tree as well as a little Skully face carved into the tree, and I put eyeballs carved into Seth tree (because if I remember correctly, eyeball imagery in totheark videos is theorized to be the signature of the founder? I think??)

If I manage to kick this cold by Monday, you can probably expect to see another one of these done then (Brian’s), but if not, then the next day definitely.

Since Wednesday morning last week, every waking moment has been anxiety and stress about Tiny Tim getting sick

Now he's a lot better, we're at the 'just keep an eye on him' stage right now

And I think my brain is still kind of in panic mode? Like, shouldn't we be freaking out about something right now? Shouldn't we be giving the cat medicine and calling the vet and running twenty errands??

Like I finally have a day where I don't need to be freaking out and my brain doesn't know what to do with itself

Hey there, I need some help!

Normally I don't do these sort of things because I have no need and I'm kind of a self kept person, but things are getting extra dicey and I need a place I feel would get spread around better on.

Gonna go ahead and warn you all ahead of time, this story contains mention of abuse in many different forms, so if these things trigger you, I'm sorry. I have to mention it.

I'm telling a story that isn't exactly mine, but it means more to me than I can say. I hope you all can believe me when I put this out, because it all sounds farfetched, but I couldn't make this up if I tried. I hope you all will listen.

My fiancé is a few states apart from me. We've known each other for about 12+ years, and have been dating for a few of those years.

In those years, he's had it really rough, being in a family that was either abusive, not present, or oppressive in some fashion (they were the "pray the gay away" types). Recently, the person who was taking care of him passed away of cancer, and he has been staying with a friend of his.

This family was good for a little bit, but the father was an alcoholic, very toxic and verbally abusive to everyone. His addiction is what eventually killed him, and he has left the family high and dry on money for anything.

There is a reason this is important information.

Throughout these years, he's had a cat, a Tortoise shell manx, about 6 years old. Her name is Kiki. She is rather feisty, yelling at the top of her little lungs if you so much as pat her rear-end wrong. She has been with him all this time.

As of recent, however, she has become sick. She has been found to have a rather large bladder stone and gets worse by the day. He doesn't have the ability to get it immediately taken care of.

I want to help him raise the money needed to help with surgery for her. Anything at all helps. It's much appreciated if you could share the story around as well. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.
