Sims 3 Pastel Legacy

This is my own challenge I created, but may have some not-so-berry likenesses. I am currently playing through this on my twitch channel twitch.tv/babyash224

Mods and cc allowed if you want

All children/teens may not age up until they are on the honor roll, or they age up on their own.

Try to make your house look like the color of your gen. The exception is the children's room that may match the child's gen.

Must complete the *special skill/s in each gen

After the first gen you may start the next gen with 30,000 simoleons

Each gen has to plant their special plant/s and the gen before them.

Gen 1- lavender- A hard start 

You start in a whole new world, with only 2,000 simoleons. You can't seem to find a job, so you gather, farm, and create to make money. You also can't seem to decide on your love life, but you do know you want lots of kids and a big, happy family. You want lots of money, a big house with a big family, and you want your kids to be successful.

Aspiration: surrounded by family

Traits: family-oriented, gatherer, hopeless romantic, frugal, kleptomaniac

You may start with 2000 simoleons

Complete aspiration

Have at least 2 babies from someone other than your spouse

You may not get a job, you have to collect, gather, paint, etc., to make money

Your spouse may get a job if you want but its not required.

Gen 2 - Light blue- Ambitious scholar

You grew up with a loving family in a big house. You always seen your parents struggle to make ends meet. You decide to buckle down as a teen and apply yourself for a better future. You go to college, and you meet your soulmate at a party. You graduate, get married, and have a child. You work hard for your life.

Aspiration: world-renowned surgeon

Traits: Genius, Bookworm, Ambitious, workaholic, Party animal

Go to college and get a degree in science and medicine

Have/attend at least 3 parties in college

Meet your spouse in college

Join one of the groups and try to maintain it throughout your life

Your parents were just too clingy; they were always around and it just made you wanna get away, far away. You graduate highschool and you go on your first ever trip to a new city to start your life. You forage around to make the money and get a part-time job and you take your first ever vacation but where do you go first? You take all the pictures you want and bring back some souvenirs for memory sake. You meet the love of your life on your travels and decide to get married then and there and bring them home to start a family.

Aspiration: great explorer

The Picturesque Legacy Challenge

Just brainstormed an outline for a legacy challenge based on 10 significant Western art movements. Hopefully this will be fun and also motivate me to finish my easel painting default replacements. Sharing in case someone else will want to play along too :)

Each generation's guidelines/suggestions below

Surname: Peynter

I plan to have each generation be in a new world but using the total net worth of previous generation to build a new house in the new world. Could easily be adapted for playing in just one world though.

Traits are 3 fixed + 2 random/choice traits. Each heir must max painting skill and have 1 (and only 1) trait that influences paintings (these traits are bolded and underlined below)

Final house hopefully would have at least 1 painting from each generation.

1338 – Day 2 – Townsend Farm

Frank finishes his portraits of his parents, older brother and good-sister just after the beginning of April. There are some questions about why the painting of Malcolm and Hawise is tinged entirely green and why that of his parents is so dark that one hardly can make out their dress or his mother’s features, but he cites this as ‘artistic choices’. His family accepts this with raised eyebrows but not much complaint. Few enough peasants have portraits drawn of them at all.

They store the paintings safely for now, but promise that they will take them along to their new home, which they plan to move to in the following quarter, and to display them there. Frank himself will not be moving there with them. He is to be married in June, to afterwards move into a house in Praaven with his new wife and set up both a painting and a merchant business there.

That is another reason why there isn’t much complaint about the paintings – they have little enough time together. The new farm will be quite a distance away from Praaven, so while Malcolm or Benjamin will likely travel there every few months for market days, the rest of the family will stay home on most occasions. Slowly, but surely, they are moving towards a goodbye.

And who would want to mar that by unkind words?

New artworks and Frank’s swiftly approaching wedding to Catherine Sterling are not the only exciting events that quarter. Despite the oncoming winter and its plummeting temperatures, baby Margaret, Malcolm’s and Hawise’s youngest daughter, has been thriving. She is as happy and healthy as her siblings, but Hawise is silently pleased that at least one of her children has finally inherited her own blond hair. Not that one can’t tell that she is Hugh’s mother merely by looking into his face, but she has still been wondering whether all of her children would be red-heads, like most of Malika’s have been. Not that she’d love her children any less for that, of course. Hugh, Gemma and Maggie are all her entire world. But it is nice to see her own features so clearly in one of them.

Whether blond or red-haired, Margaret proves to be a precocious, bonny child, often clinging to her mother or crawling after her as she works around the house. Being in Hawise’s arms is just about her favourite place in the world, which Hawise doesn’t mind at all. In fact, holding her youngest only adds fuel to her wish to have another child. She hasn’t raised the matter to her husband yet, but he must wish for more sons to secure their family legacy, at the very least. Although so far, he hasn’t said anything to that effect.

Not that she has much hope that he will wish for more children. He spends time with Hugh and even plays with the girls from time to time, but his attitude towards them is still more sanguine acceptance of their presence than enthusiasm. Luckily, he enjoys sharing her bed, which may not be what the clerics teach, but handily aids her in her quest for more children. She hasn’t fallen pregnant again yet, but because she has only just stopped nursing Margaret, that may not be much of a surprise.

Maybe once they have moved into their new home and things have settled down, they will be blessed by another pregnancy. Until then, she will be patient.

And then the big day, years in the making and longingly awaited by its principal participants, finally arrives: the day that Frank Townsend of Tovar is to wed Catherine Sterling of Praaven. They spend days preparing a feast, much to the enjoyment of their neighbours, whose harvests haven’t been nearly as good as that of the Townsends. With Catherine’s kin from town in attendance, they mean for it to be as impressive as possible.

Traditionally, the wedding would be held at the church the bride attends, but the Sterlings have agreed to instead hold it in Tovar’s chapel, so the entirety of Frank’s family is able to attend. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to take Gemma or Margaret, and with them staying home, they would either need to enlist a kind neighbour watch them and feed their animals or to have Hawise stay home.

They are grateful for this, especially because this will be the last big ceremony they attend in this chapel. It has been the site of so many of their family’s special events in the last four decades – weddings and funerals and baptisms, and so many regular services where they would afterwards meet with their neighbours and participate in the community they will all too soon leave behind. It almost chokes some of them with emotion, nearly as much as the occasion itself does.

Catherine is just as charming as Frank has always said, and looks lovely – and slightly out of place – in her fine, embroidered gown of light blue and cream. There are matching flowers braided into her hair, which must have taken a long time. She might be the finest-looking bride this chapel has ever seen, excluding Amye’s wedding a few years ago.

This radiant bride is accompanied by her mother and siblings, while her father had to beg off because of a last-minute illness. Before the ceremony, Frank makes sure to pay his respects to Catherine’s mother, before grasping his bride’s hands and asking her once again if she is sure that this is what she wants. Catherine merely smiles and tells him that seeing as she has had ample time to reconsider, and wouldn’t dream of doing so now.

With that matter of honour settled, the ceremony can finally begin.

The ceremony goes just as smoothly as those of Frank’s sisters. Part of him, the part that despaired of ever being allowed to marry this wonderful woman, is apprehensive throughout the entire thing. The back of his mind is screaming at him that Nathan Sterling’s absence is surely deliberate, that he will storm in in the middle of their vows to call the entire thing off, that lightning will strike, that the roof will collapse, that a horde of Scots will appear, anything that might end up in Catherine not being his wife by the end of the day.

His agitation must be obvious, because he feels Catherine squeeze his hands, before whispering: “Are you alright, Frank?”

“Just fine”, he whispers back. “Just nervous.”

“Focus on me.” She squeezes his hands again. “Just as I’ll focus on you.”

And what could he say against that? Not that focusing on her is difficult – he could spend hours looking into her beloved face, trace the winter sunlight glinting on her fair hair, or lose himself in the deep indigo of her eyes. It’s an unusual colour, which was one of the first things that drew him to her, but she looks especially beautiful today. And when even her beauty isn’t enough to calm him, there’s the gentle, steadfast way in which her hands are gripping his.

Unsurprisingly, no catastrophes, big or small, occur. They exchange rings, just like Adeline and her husband did during their wedding, again gifted by Amye, say their vows, are blessed by Father Allomere, and walk out of the church as a beaming pair of husband and wife.

There is much cheering from Frank’s family, while Catherine’s mother is content with applauding. It has been a long road, but as far as the Townsends are concerned, this is a perfect finale to the nuptials of the two sets of twins.

Day 7: Inspired by a Pinterest Mood Board

Not literally, of course; no golden lyres or blinding light anymore, just the occasional tagged photo from mutuals, his sun-drenched smile still somehow arrogant through the screen. She wasn’t angry anymore, not really, just tired of running, of being a symbol, of people confusing obsession for love. He’d probably laugh when he got this. Or worse, take it as some cryptic sign that she missed him. But that wasn’t why she wrote. She just wanted to say: I survived you, and I grew roots, not because you chased me but because I stopped. --

In the Earl of Granite Falls' household, there was a grand birthday for his young twin boys. They were turning 5 years old today and as such were becoming children.

The famine made it so they couldn't have a feast - but they could still celebrate amongst themselves.

The boys each blew out birthday candles with their older siblings gathered around them, cheering and shouting hopple borfna.

Maybe the boys would remember this fondly, as a birthday that was more quaint and filled with love as opposed to the political affairs that they will be in the future.
