Hal ships r so fun because like all of his top pairings are EXTREMELY different from each other

Like you have Halcarol which is the canon ship and they’re employee x boss, they’re messy, they are constantly divorcing

And you have sinhal aka halsin which is that specific flavor of yaoi where they’re old friends turned ideological enemies

Ofc u also have halbarry, who are just really sweet best friends to lovers

And halollie which is also best friends to lovers except they’re always arguing and also they’re tragic doomed yaoi

And then u have Batlantern which is like they’re coworkers who hate each other until they fuck about it

And like…so many polyamorous ships

hal jordan is capable of having people be either completely willing to die for him, beat him up affectionately or want to murder him. sinestro and carol ferris fall into all three of these categories. that is all.

Fic idea, Sinestro learning about how dependent humans are on touch when Hal (who has been running himself ragged and hasn’t been touched in weeks) is getting snippier and brattier until Sinestro finally snaps and pins him full body to the wall to growl in his face. It’s intended as a threat but he’s more than a little surprised when Hal immediately melts into the touch, eyes going a little glassy, and even wraps his arms around him for a tight hug. He doesn’t understand why Jordan is reacting this way to a threat, especially if korugarians have different ideas about physical touch, so Hal has to try and explain it to him while clinging to Sinestro like an octopus, just refusing to let go, taking in as much warmth and contact as he can.

I know enemies treated each other with hate and anger, but am I the only one who likes enemies-to-lovers ships not because of the manipulation, codependency, or the "toxic" aspects of the ship, but because of the idea of the villains redeeming and the angst and hurt/comfort potential?
