Life Series but beefburgered

Hello my tumblr 👋 I'm not dead, I've just been fandom jumping then felt the urge to make somewhat of a reference sheet for the lifers for future use. Yap session about the designs below:

Grian: Very standard Grian. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one. I imagine the turtleneck being wide enough to hide his mouth behind as he stares menacingly into the distance. His eyebrows are practically fused with his eyes but it's probably best not to think about it too much. I have considered placing a literal waffle on the back of his head but it might be tedious to draw continuously.

Scar: Everytime I draw Scar he looks weird. It might be because I'm not too good with longer faces, but that's how I'd imagine the character looks like. I think I'll switch up this design a lot as his eyes and hair bug me sometimes. Maybe experiment with the scars too. Artists make him look really cool as an explosion victim.

Mumbo: The slicked back hair looks right. Extra strand sticking out to make him look a bit disheveled. I wonder if I should commit to making him look more goth/vampire-like. He gets a tiny mullet because it fits.

Jimmy: Wanted to make him look a bit bird-like so I tried to express that with the back of his head. I hope he looks pathetic enough.

Joel: Fairly shrek-like. I wanted to make him look grumpy so he has a shorter and broader build. Also decided that one green hair streak wasn't enough for my satisfaction. His brown coat has a honeycomb pattern, but that's not too obvious. Also, he is shorter than Lizzie.

Scott: Pretty sparkly guy. I wanted him to look quite friendly. He actually has thick eyelashes here instead of eyeshadow but I'm not against that idea either. Kind of miss his Last Life skin.

Impulse: I don't watch Impulse too much so this design was based on some common interpretations of him. The horns are a cute idea.

Skizz: Very standard Skizzleman design. The ripped sleeves and the arms are probably my favorite thing. Maybe I should add more hair on the arms.

Tango: People tend to draw him really different, so I took aspects from designs I liked and put it here. Both his sclera and shades ended up being red, but I thought the sclera was iconic and the design looks more interesting with shades on. I'm not sure if I'd prefer for Tango's hair to literally be made out of fire. I tried making it resemble fire instead.

Etho: Attempted to make him a contender for Top 10 Hottest Anime Men. I'm always interested to see how people work around his definitely unrecognizable Minecraft skin (sarcastic). Like other designs, I think I'll add a maple leaf on his clothes or something.

Bdubs: He looks more terrifying than I intended but that might be the point. Might change his hairstyle here. I'd like to draw his white-haired skin at some point.

Cleo: Very standard ZombieCleo design. The hair was based on their VTuber but I decided to use the clothes from their Minecraft skin. The stitches are the fun part. I might make her hair curlier.

Martyn: Very standard InTheLittleWood design. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one ×2. The little beard is a wonderful addition I think.

Ren: Picking between black or cyan shades was tough. He also gets an obligatory ponytail because uhm. Tail. Dog. Get it? I also took a good while figuring out how I should go about his ears. I wasn't satisfied with human ears but I needed the shades to fit somehow. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one ×3

Lizzie: Yes, I have watched Empires S1 and S2 and it shows. Whoever first decided to give Lizzie cat-like buns should be given an award. I like the idea of heart-shaped buns too so maybe I'll alternate on that.

BigB: Very standard Bigbst4tz2 design. Don't let his friendly interaction with Lizzie fool you but he tends to stare into your soul for uncomfortably long periods of time. The highlights in his eyes come and go.

Gem: Very standard GeminiTay design. She probably has my favorite skin among this batch. I heard there was a shortage of elf Gem (there isn't) and I have decided to contribute to that (because there's no such thing as too many elf Gems).

Pearl: Inside Pearl are two wolves and I decided to draw the one that's sopping wet. Her hair has a few crescent-shaped curls. I'm definitely looking forward to drawing her more intimidating side sometime.

Overall I was hoping to make the designs simple and mostly accurate to skins/pfps. Nothing too special, other than a few pointy ears I sprinkled around here and there. I might add more to the designs the more I draw them.

37. GUY.EXE — Superfruit

Okay so this song started as a joke, because I wasn’t originally going to have Skizz be an android; I thought it would be really funny if this Normal Guy was just always surrounded by his robot besties and the Perpetual Odd Guy Out. But, the more I listened to this song, the more I realized how much funnier it would be if the narrative/this song was basically “Doc, Impulse, Tango, Etho, and Mumbo all set out to create the ~perfect android~ together but are ridiculously silly and gay about it, and also the perfect android ends up being Skizz, and also also the design elements suggested by our fellow hermits here are uh. Not indicative of anything at all. Nope!” And the concept was just way too fun not to run with :]

Again with this one, you really won’t get the vibes here unless you know or listen to the song— the second shot is actually a redraw from the music video, so kudos if you got that reference LMAO I was SO hoping someone would request this number, so thank you joi >:D Incredible opportunity for me to draw these guys with ridiculous poses and expressions alongside finally getting to share Skizz’s spectacular origin story <3

🚦Wild Life Wild Cards🚦

Finally finished all the Wild Cards fanart just before the new season starts. Each card is filled with details from the series and one of my favorites is when Ren spent half the 3rd session digging everywhere to find the horse.

Session 1: Size Shift

A reunion of the Empires Family with their lore-accurate sizes. Obsessed with drawing Little Jim in his true form, a Sheriff Toy. Also drew Joel with arm floaties, to enhance his Dom Toretto cosplay.

Session 2: Hunger

We got BDubs wondering what his clock tastes like, and the birth of Floaters; now renamed to Spanners (started as the Sub-One Club).

Session 3: Snails Attack

Legend has it Ren is still looking for the horse. Also, made OlitheOrionSnail to represent all the snails as the guest voice actor. Loved all the wahwahwahs and oooeees every time they lunged to their person.

Session 4: Speed

In honor of Gem staying in the 6 hearts club for the longest out of everyone, she’s taking the center for this wild card, sprinting away from everyone’s lava buckets. The first part where they were in slow motion, all their interactions gave me accidental renaissance paintings vibes so here’s Etho and Tango remaking the infamous Sistine Chapel ceiling painting of Michelangelo, while dodging some arrows.

Session 5: Triviabot

In session 5 we were introduced to Triviabot, a robot who lands from above Mary Poppins-style with its umbrella and slick red suit bringing questions to the lifers that gave them resources for traps if they answered correctly, otherwise bringing death to some who answered wrong. And the first death of the season from Mumbo who before leaving the server, made a successful mace kill to Cleo.

Session 6: Mob Swap

This session was also chaotic with mobs randomly spawning everywhere, from the ever most peaceful giants–the Sniffers, to the guardian of the Deep Dark–the Warden, who brought a special item to the game upon death, a Totem of Undying. Not only did Pearl got the item, but the Pearl and Gem duo’s iconic murder camel made a comeback in the session. We also got our second death, a death that was cause by the resident-law-breakers Martyn and Tango. Hopefully Skizz will get revenge next season.

Session 7: Superpowers

In this session, everyone got superpowers. Which brought back Mumbo and Skizz as Cleo’s superpower Necromancy, gave her the power to summon a loyal undead duo. Unfortunately Martyn’s Super Hearing couldn’t save him from becoming the season’s 3rd death.

Session 8: All Wild Cards Are Active

The chaos was most evident in this session as all Wild Cards were activated interchangeably.

Drawing the lifers as chibi was so fun, all of the designs are so cute but my favorite would be Etho, Mumbo, Tango and Cleo. Let me know what you think and which session is your favorite. <3

I don’t have time to draw this out right now, but I do have ideas for it so I’ll put it in text form first!

It’s really funny you sent this actually, just the other week I was watching a ton of videos of double proposals and almost cried because of how cute they were.

I’m not sure how it would happen exactly but…

Neither one of them get on one knee

This might just be me, but I personally find it really cute when someone proposes standing on the same level as their partner. I think it represents how they’re starting off this relationship on the same level and show that they’re both of equal importance!

Wedding party…

I have to imagine that Grian would have a hard time deciding which wedding party to be in. How is he supposed to choose between his two best friends?

Solution? He TRIES to be in both, but he stresses out Scar and Mumbo so much that they make him pick (after a TON of reassurance that they don’t see this as him picking favourites)

Cub would be Scar’s hermit of honour and Grian would be Mumbo’s, and I love the idea of either Skizz or Bdubs being the officiator. Maybe both!

Dress shopping??

There’s plenty of hermits on the server that have a keen eye for detail, and I believe either Cleo, Bdubs, Pearl, or Joel would be good options for making their dresses.

Cleo has a lot of experience with armour stands and has already made quite a few dresses in the game, and Joel has picked this up too!

I’m not sure if Bdubs or Pearl have done the same, but with how detailed and beautiful their builds are? I believe in their dress abilities.

They make their own venues!

Perks of living on hermitcraft? You can build literally anything want. Maybe the biggest part of wedding planning for someone on hermitcraft is planning what they want their venue to look like, then actually building the thing.

Maybe it’s tradition to combine the building styles of the finances so that the venue is a perfect mix of them!

Weddings on hermitcraft

One word: FUN!!

Maybe they have some of their own traditions (like mentioned above), but I think for the most part, hermitcraft weddings would be incredibly unique. They could be anything!

Want traditional? Okay cool! Want a wedding in a hot air balloon flying over a mountain with a waterfall?? Also cool! The freedom they have can be played with a LOT!

I think Mumbo and Scar would be the least stressed out of everyone involved. They’re just happy to be together and are having a great time planning their day of celebration!

They would both have their moments of weakness, Mumbo feeling anxious and Scar getting caught in his perfectionism - but the great thing about planning it together is that they can rely on each other for support, and they do just that!

I do think the visual of everybody around them being incredibly stressed while they’re just chilling with each other is really funny

And they stupider here than tsots or do they have some common sense? Or just the Heart Fondation! Oh also! What about bdubs and etho? They have a lot of ties (ha. Get it? Ties) to those two! Itd be interesting to see if they have a place in this au.

BAND AUUUUUUUU

I have LOTS of thoughts on their first meeting--but you don't get to see that yet ;) I have a bunch of art drawn (ft. the most adorable Impulse ever) and all that's left is to write a little blorb of how it went down, which I'll probably do sometime tomorrow :D (I'm very very excited for this lol)

They do have mutual friends, since Skizz tends to know EVERYBODY, but Impulse is a bit of a recluse apart from when Gem and Scott make him get out of the house, so he hasn't met Skizz yet. Skizz happens to have never interacted directly with Gem or Scott either, but they've all heard of each other. As for mutual connections, Impulse does know Tango (who is part of Heart Foundation, obviously), and probably some others, but that's it for important connections I can come up with off the top of my head!

As for stupid levels, these guys are certified idiots, rest assured. However, this one isn't exactly a slow burn! I'd say more, but you'll see soon enough... >:)

Bdubs, I don't have any particular plans for. I'm still brainstorming a lot of the hermits n such. Etho knows everyone, tho (add him to mutual friends list ig), and in particular, the Roomies exist in this AU like they did in secret life, because I love them dearly <3 Other than that, he's a college student, studying tech of some sort, and lives with Cleo and Grian :) (and potentially Bdubs, if I get around to giving him a backstory. Honestly if you have ideas, feel free to share) He occasionally helps out with the sound tech for the Heart Foundation, but it's rare.

And thank you so much! I'm thrilled everyone's liking my silly lil band au thus far, I've kinda hyperfixated on it these past few days lmao. My wrist actually hurts from drawing so much rip, I need to get a proper stand for my tablet so I'm not hunched over the desk like a shrimp. But yeah! I have lots more art and quite a bit of writing I wanna do :D idk how far this'll go, since it's not meant to be serious or anything, but it's a fun experiment

Skizzleman name origin! He wanted to make a username for a poker website and the original slant on his last name was taken; a rap stereotype at the time was to slap 'izzle' on the end of it, Skizzleman was born

Impulse name origin! Impulse played marching snare for a drum corp called Impulse! His initials are SV so he smacked that on the end.

Question #1 from Marihl1354: What advice would you give to the other 10 years in the past?

Impulse: Join me. If you have the time, make it because you WILL be successful.

Skizz: Care less about what others think, because you can fly so far if you stop trying to please everyone and follow your instincts.

Impulse: Any time where I have my day planned and I'm excited for it, and then something gets in the way and messes up my plan. It's mainly just frustrating and it's something I specifically have issues about.

Skizz: My first Twitch Rivals event, my internet cut out several times, and it was frustrating and demoralizing, but I didn't lose my cool.

Question #5 from iceybruhyt2178: What did you think initially when Grian originally pitched Third Life?

Skizz: I knew it would be a hit. I didn't know the longevity, but I knew it was going to be a success because it had the potential to have story elements that the audience would enjoy. I'm honored that I was picked since my channel was so small at the time.

Impulse: I knew it would work, but I didn't know how well us together would make this perfect ensemble. And it's still an amazing group that gels so well together on and off screen after almost 4 years. Each person wants everyone to have a good time and make great videos.

Question #6 from opalwhisker: What do you do with all the gifts you receive? What's the weirdest/funniest gift you've been given? What's your favorite stuff?

Impulse: Pretty much everything is special, because they all have heart and meaning to the person that gave it to me, and it makes me very grateful for my fans and for what I do.

Skizz: The drawings really impress me because it's such a show of skill and talent and everything is so touching because it's personal.

Question #7 from AgnesBooth-zu7tw: What would you do for content creation if you can't do Hermitcraft?

Skizz: Streaming. I like doing variety game streaming as well as Hermitcraft, the cooking stream with my wife was a lot of fun. Also voice acting (enkay personal note: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE)

Impulse: Anything that shows off my authentic self. I also really enjoy the video production end of things because it makes a great product and it plays to my strengths, I want to persue that more.

Question #8: What video are you most proud of?

Impulse: The Storm the Castle video! I worked so hard on it, I learned a ton of new things, and it was really fulfilling for me to build something that was an experience everyone enjoyed.

Skizz: The Guess the Build series! I pitched the original idea based off of Telestrations and Grian took my idea and really polished it in terms of rules and getting the server mechanics organized so it's sleek. They're so much fun to make, everyone has a great time, the videos are amazing. I love the laughs we get out of it.

WHY WAS THAT BLEEP SO LONG

Question #9: What would you do differently about the podcast if you started again tomorrow?

The name. It doesn't telegraph a lot of information if you don't know who we are, and it doesn't really say anything about what sort of stuff we make.

The thing we DON'T regret is making our podcast NOT centered around a particular topic. It keeps things interesting for us and that's the most important element to keep the podcast going for as long as we want.

Question #10: What have you learned from each other?

Skizz: The importance of planning when it's needed. I tend to be more loose and free but it has it downfalls. I can still plan but have the freedom I need.

Impulse: A bit of parenting advice from Skizz. "If your kid is asking you to spend time with them to make a memory, You Take It."

Question #11: How did marching band change you?

Impulse: It kind of helped expose us to the multitasking that we would see later in adulthood, between school, having to have a job, and practicing. It taught me a lot of discipline and I got to experience the rush of REALLY hard work actually paying off.

Skizz: It really had a LOT of gravity and importance because of how intense and highly respected DCI is. It's a lot of pressure and we all had to pitch in to execute routines PERFECTLY.

Question #12 from LoSDockForBoats: Skizz, when you realize there was never a time limit on living your life to its fullest?

Skizz: A combination of my MS diagnosis in my mid-20s and any time when someone close to me passes away is always a wake-up call.

Question #13 from catfan0_0: Who are your favorite non-Minecraft content creators?

Skizz: For drumming, Estepario simply because he's the best, Brad Owen makes really good poker content and his videos are interesting, insightful, and funny! Sam The Cooking Guy is an amazing chef and host, and the post production is great, and the recipes he makes are AMAZING! (special shoutout to theOdd1sOut and Mark Rober)

Impulse: Harris Heller, he's a tech guy that I get most of my gear recommendations from, and I enjoy his videos.

Impulse: Expanding my content to a wider scope.

Question #15 for Skizz: What's the best prank of all time?

Skizz: It was ages ago when I was working at Costco. There was a woman named K would nick little paper/cardboard signs that no one would miss from fast food places and stuff to decorate her room. We went to a Subway for lunch break and she said she wanted a sign that had LED lights in it. I grabbed it as we left and head back to work. She took it and later on I see there's a couple cop cars in the mall plaza and he told his boss to say that the cops were there for K because of the sign. He SOLD it and K is freaking out. I come back and pretend the cops talked to me. I grab the sign again and go outside to "talk to the cops". I put the sign in her car (I stole the keys from her locker) and return and pretend I got a stern talking to from the cops and they have my photo and information.

She got SO anxious about it that my boss felt bad and let her take the day off. She sees the sign in her car and flinches (I have snuck into the parking lot and have followed her). I yell at her to not get too mad, she yells at me good-naturedly, and she takes a well deserved afternoon off. (Kids, don't steal things)

Question #16 from Kiwimarauder: Which guest inspired you?

Impulse: Claire. She motivated me to pull the trigger on lifestyle changes that I'd been wanting to make for a few years now and it's recently been a big impact on me (but also I can't choose, they're all inspirational)

Skizz: My two main ones are Mumbo and Bdubs. Mumbo was such a big inspiration in terms of creativity and not questioning if my ideas are "good enough" and Bdubs because he helped me embrace "I'm happy and healthy and my important people are too, and sometimes that's all the ambition I need"

Impulse: Yeah, I was a big hermitcraft fan from season 2, and I was watching Etho from before I made a youtube channel. To be in the same space with these people hit me every time I'm with them. They're all inspiring and amazing and it's humbling.

Skizz: ditto to the above, I'm constantly amazed with literally everything

Question #18 from ronaldfelix1850: What other hobbies do you guys have besides gaming?

Skizz: Poker, but it's not a BIG hobby because poker is the fun thing and not gambling. I learned it from my older brothers and I loved the psychological angle of it.

Impulse: Computers and tech stuff, also renovating (probably because of my interior decorator wife). I love working on house projects.

There's so many, but a recent highlight is our prank on Joel early in the season. It was a collaborative moment for us and it's so much fun to get one over on Joel because he has such great reactions and it was a matter of pride

Impulse: Matthew McConaughey or Matthew Perry

Skizz: Matthew Perry is also high up there, but also Jesus would be cool. I would ask QUESTIONS. "I bet I could make him laugh"

Question #21: To Skizz: How in the world do you stay so positive?

Skizz: It's more that I don't show too much real negativity on stream or in videos. It's not really what I want to give as a content creator for you guys, and everyone has bad days, nothing to be ashamed of.

Question #22: To Impulse: How do you see your creative projects come to life?

Impulse: Honestly they're usually spur-of-the-moment ideas, usually inspired by stuff that I surround myself with at the time. My candy factory was inspired by my daughter getting REALLY into all the Willy Wonka stuff. The cyberpunk city and all the lore wasn't inspired by ANYTHING topical. It just came to me, and I knew myself and Bdubs would have fun with the building style.

Question #23: Skizz, how do you like playing on Hermitcraft?

Skizz: I LOVE it. It's fun being a guy that helps facilitate funny moments. It makes me want to be a better builder and do more for the Hermits, like Tango does with his amazing games

Question #24: Do you ever get recognized when you are out and about?

Impulse: Very rarely. We were once recognized together in the middle of nowhere and it was a really sweet family. But my last vacation I was on a cruise and I was recognized several times! If you see either of us, absolutely say hi when it's an appropriate time!

Skizz: I had a dinner where my waiter recognized me and he was very polite about it, it was such a nice moment.

this pic was supposed to become a lineup of Magical Girl Mountaineers but i realized designing 7 cohesive yet distinct magical girl designs is a mite difficult. so i will just ramble abt the au instead

My sister helped me come up with it ofc. shout out to her <3

ok so from left to right: Joel (green, axe), Grian (red, tnt), Impulse (yellow, hammer), Gem (blue, trident), Scar (orange, bow), Skizz (black, sword), Mumbo (purple, end crystals).

Big Salmon is their benefactor/god/boss. tells them what to do. skizz would prob be the first to aquire his magical girlieness. all their outfits would have some sort of nautical design. and also maybe cherry blossoms (this is why i didnt actually draw it. theres so many elements to balance)

the snails are their lil friends. whatever the cat does in sailor moon (ive not watched it o7)

their transformation trigger is either the salmon noise or a bell. while they transform, time freezes. if ur nearby, ur still concious and can hear "please hold" playing. this is a tactic to give them an advantage as it deals psychic damage. in their own personal bubble, the magical girl's timelapse music plays.
