Hey Kirby Community!

Well, good news: We've started up a fan server for it! 🎊

As of right now we're still rather small, just a handful of people coming together to appreciate this beautiful project still going strong a full decade in! We'd love to help it grow though so if you remember this series with fondness then we'll gladly welcome you in!

Not familiar with the series but your curiosity is piqued? If you enjoy anime, especially in the superhero/shounen vein, then you might appreciate this action-filled superhero story! Come on in and we can tell you all about it, the server will be setting up a navigational guide so it's easy to hop in and enjoy all the goodness!

Quick notes about server itself:

On the flip side of that - no nsfw in the server, just to keep things simple!

And now for something entirely niche here on tumblr dot com - bracelets made after the kirbyverse fan animation series, Spirits Excel! My sibling wanted some bracelets based on her favorite characters - and after being introduced to the series I did too! So above are the bracelets I made for her, and below are the two I've made for myself so far

I'm hoping to make more for this series - bracelets, or art in general - because it's severely unknown around these parts and I'd like to see that change. Here's hoping I can help contribute to the very lonely fandom tag more going forward!

You were offering special interest infodump moment the other day and I just gotta say - just got done showing my partner this amazing kirby sprite animation on youtube called "spirits excel" and like. Wow. It's very action-based and heavily inspired by shounen and superhero stories so maybe not everyone's cup of tea but on a technical level it's mind-blowing??

For some context, the kirby community has a whole subcommunity that animate using existing kirby game sprites (+ others that seem fitting) and other assets, so at a glance you might not expect much. But this one guy has been building this series with Multiple!! Hour-long episodes!! For I think over a decade now?? And even if he's relying heavily on pre-existing assets from the sprites and backgrounds to the visual effects and music... his actual ability to animate it and unify it all is scarily fluid.

He's also got the anime opening/ending visual tropes down to a T so if anyone wanted to get a taste for how smooth his animation can look on little pixel orbs, but doesn't necessarily want to have to watch what's probably nearly half a days' worth of content just to see how much his skills grew, I'd recommend at least watching one of those bad boys, as they're posted independently too.

(Honestly his storytelling and dialogue is also v solid but I figured a good surface-level topic is, well... The Surface! /lh)

Anyways this series is criminally underrated here on tumblr, as of rn I think 4 people have ever posted in its tag and 3 of them are me, my partner and my sib who got us into it after years of wearing me down so. If anyone wants to know more please feel free to come hmu
