And now for something entirely niche here on tumblr dot com - bracelets made after the kirbyverse fan animation series, Spirits Excel! My sibling wanted some bracelets based on her favorite characters - and after being introduced to the series I did too! So above are the bracelets I made for her, and below are the two I've made for myself so far

I'm hoping to make more for this series - bracelets, or art in general - because it's severely unknown around these parts and I'd like to see that change. Here's hoping I can help contribute to the very lonely fandom tag more going forward!

♥️Reveling in Richonne - TOWL

#43: The Good Life (1.05)

The vibes of this whole sequence are so good. The good life truly. 🤩And Say Yes has always been a comfort ep for me, so I love that this montage has such Say Yes energy and parallels. If ever I need a pick-me-up this tranquil series of clips from Richonne's road-trip home will lift my spirits every time. I love the way this montage depicts that in finding each other again, Richonne refound the best, most at peace parts of themselves 😌...

So after that teaser with Father Gabriel, we get our babies back on screen. And it hit me that Episode 5 is the first time there are even scenes that don't feature Rick and Michonne. In episodes 1-4 of TOWL, Rick, Michonne, or both are on screen in every single scene apart from that one episode 2 teaser. Which I was very much in support of this as a long-time card-carrying member of the Give-Richonne-More-Screentime ministry. 😊

After how excellent the plot, pacing, and dialogue were in episode 4, I will say that ep 5 & 6 are a bit clunkier in those areas to me. But one thing is for sure, the Richonne content in ep 5 & 6 is still solid gold.

While these last two eps are ranked lower than episodes 1-4 for me, the good moments in these last two episodes aren't just good, they're great and include some genuinely Top 10 worthy Richonne scenes. So we definitely have to break it all down.😇👌🏽

The montage starts with that yellow truck turning the corner and then they just get right into the good vibes and romance as we see Richonne calmly driving.

I love that they use 'The Good Life' by Tony Bennett to set the mood. Rick and Michonne both just look so relaxed and happy and it’s super refreshing to see. 🥰

After everything they’d gone through thus far it was so nice to arrive at a point where Rick and Michonne are back in sync and as connected as ever.

I love the way Rick seems so content and peaceful with his hand out the window. Michonne has that man feeling on top of the world again. 😋 And then it’s so sweet the way he looks over at Michonne and the way she smiles back at him while driving. All is well with their soul and mine. 😌

Then we get one of my favorite Richonne actions ever when Rick takes her hand and kisses it. 🥹 It’s perfect.

I love the lingering depth of this hand kiss and that it’s such an illustration of how much Rick loves and cherishes Michonne. It was another soul kiss. And you can just tell how much peace Michonne brings Rick. She’s like his medicine. The cure to his anxiety and to his life. 👌🏽

Something I so appreciate about Richonne is how every moment like this feels like such an organic outpouring of love in their hearts. And it feels like it’s the exact thing they both needed. Like Rick is offering Michonne so much love with this hand kiss but you can tell it’s also for him too, because she brings him so much peace and happiness and calms any anxiety he might have about really being able to break away from the CRM this time and go home.

This might be the furthest Rick has got in terms of actually breaking free from the CRM and heading home. I know he knows it has everything to do with Michonne that they’re making it this far and actually going to get home this time because they can do anything together.

I appreciate how this hand kiss is just one of the many ways Rick’s romantic heart so naturally wants to show his love and that Michonne is so receptive to it. Like the way she looks at him while he kisses her hand. They really know how to make the love they have for each other leap off the screen. And I know she knows that her Rick is fully back by him doing this.

The song lyrics that play say “don’t try to fake romance” and truly this is just giving authentic romance. Richonne's hand kisses in Say Yes were always so incredibly sweet to me so I love that we have another precious one to add to the list.

I also love that now that Rick isn’t trying to shut Michonne out, he’s immediately back to loving on her every second. This is how Rick loves.

I appreciate that Rick and Michonne immediately started living out that sentiment to love on each other as hard as they can while they can. Loving on each other is what they're both so good at doing. And the way they love is beautiful. 🥹

So then they pull up and find all those ramen packs because the universe loves them some Richonnne. And y’all, I adore that they are matching again. 😊 It’s another signature Richonne thing. And it's great how they aren’t just matching in the same general color - no they're basically both wearing the exact Pantone shade, honey. The best. 😋

And Rick and Michonne are just at their all-time adorable when the noodles fall out of the trunk and they excitedly laugh and pick them up. Michonne looks like such a cutie when she holds up a pack and amusedly addresses their punny name “Tasteful Noods.”

Another thing I love about TOWL whenever I think about it is how Rick and Michonne's journey of refinding each other was never rooted in questioning if they're still compatible as a couple. After nearly a decade spent apart, some characters who aren't soulmates could have easily changed too much and been unable to rekindle this type of comfortable passionate chemistry so quickly.

But while Richonne had to navigate the way their circumstances had impacted and altered them, they still always operated like they knew the other was their person and the love of their life. And now that they've risen from their ep 4 timeout stronger, they're so effortlessly back to being best friends & lovers.

That's part of why I love how passionately Richonne kisses in their episode 2 reunion scene because they didn't have to hesitate, wait, or wonder how the other felt about them after all these years. Without even needing to verbally confirm it, they immediately knew the love, chemistry, and connection they have was alive and as strong as ever.

But back to this heavenly episode 5 montage - We get a sweet moment of the two having dinner together and I’m just smiling from ear to ear yet again. 😁

I love how this montage moment really highlights how far Rick and Michonne have come in their journey since that season 4 moment beside a fire.

Also, in the TWD series finale when Rick and Michonne were both writing letters alone by a fire, I remember just feeling like I cannot wait for them to be side by side again and it was lovely to see that time finally come. 🙌🏽

During this dinner in front of the mural, they’re both looking out at something but I can never tell what exactly. And then Rick puts his arm around Michonne and I love that he looks over at her first, watching her taking in whatever they’re seeing like maybe another mural/painting or something idk. Either way, Michonne is clearly the true view to Rick. 🥰

And then Michonne turns to him with the sweetest smile as they share a kiss and I just love how warm this whole moment is. It's great how they take a moment to just smile at each other before having yet another kiss infused with passion. And the way they get lost in this kiss - equally addicted to each other. 😊 They’re so blissfully in their Richonne bubble and it’s great to see.

As they drive along the scenic road they also come across a vending machine and I love how their movement is so synchronized as they look from the vending machine to a walker with a sword stuck in its neck. See how the universe always wants to provide the things Richonne needs? 😋

Also, what this episode really hammered home is that Richonne communicates with words pretty much for fun, because they’re entirely capable of having whole conversations by just looking at each other.

And in this moment they both immediately get the same idea at the same exact time to use the blade in that walker to hack through the vines covering the vending machine. And they’re so cute and determined as they go to take care of it.

Clearing out the vending machine was clearly a success as they cut to Richonne back in the car while Rick chugs a soda. And even the soda moment shows that he’s really released a lot of the stress he was carrying in the first four episodes and just seems so at home. And of course he seems at home because his home is right next to him looking beautiful while driving. 👌🏽

Also, you always know you’re truly comfortable with someone when even just sitting in silence together brings you peace and I felt that from them in these car clips.

Then this heavenly montage wants to make me teary by having Rick take out the phone with the image of Carl and just take a moment to appreciate it. Again, Rick loves his son so much. 🥲 I'll forever be moved by the love this father has for his boy.

It's heartwarming that Rick gets so much comfort from these images of his family. And it really is one of the greatest things Michonne’s ever done for him by giving him this drawing that brought his son's face back to him.

I love that Michonne looks over at him and gets to again see how meaningful having this piece of Carl is for Rick. The way she looks from the phone to him, both those Grimes boys forever have her heart. 🥹

(And she knows soon Rick will get to meet the third Grimes boy, RJ. 🥲)

I think about the OG Richonne episode Clear when Michonne was behind the wheel as Rick sat silently beside her with a hand out the window. Now, years later they do the same, no longer strangers but soulmates.

The biggest difference between the two moments is Carl is right there with them in the back of the car in Clear, and now in TOWL he's with them through a phone portrait. 🥺

Carl would be so proud of Rick and Michonne for finding their way back to each other and finally going home together. 🥲

Also just looking at Rick and Michonne in this car heading home, y’all, we really made it. 😭 All those years without them and we really made it to a point where Rick and Michonne are back on a road trip home together and at peace. And so I just adore this whole opening sequence for perfectly painting the picture of their travels home and how in love they are at every turn.

Then, as they drive they come across a souvenir shop...and it’s there we get another one of my absolute favorite TOWL scenes. 👌🏽😌

I am in love with this series. It has been an absolute treat to have Jen and Andie collaborating on these season 5 codas! I am excited to watch how Tarlos' story unfolds this season while simultaneously getting such beautiful insights into each episode with these fics.

If you're comfortable reading about eating disorders, I highly recommend giving this fic a read. It's very heavy and angsty, and it definitely feels like a very realistic insight into what it's like having an ED and what it would be like for TK coming to terms with that.

I'm really enjoying this AU so far! Fantasy AUs are always such a treat to dive into and explore. This fic has done an excellent job introducing this universe, and I'm already itching to read more. I'm especially enjoying the dynamic between TK and Carlos!

Someone to Know You Too Well - @morganaspendragonss

I really love that this coda was from Tommy's perspective! I always enjoy getting to explore other characters beyond TK and Carlos. I also love that this fic explored Tommy and Trevor's relationship, and how Tommy was feeling in the aftermath of the gas.

Préndelo (Turn It On) - @lemonlyman-dotcom

Early days Tarlos fics are always a treat, and Lemon just gave us a fantastic one! It was very sweet and very hot, and it also gives us a very beautiful glimpse into what their dynamic was like in those in between moments we didn't get to see in season 1.

Deeper than Breath, Closer than Air - @carlos-in-glasses

This coda does everything! It's angsty. It's emotional. It's hot. It's silly. And it's beautiful. I really loved how it touched on all of the different feelings surrounding Tarlos right now while at the center of all of it, you can just tell how much love there is between them.

Craving some kinktober? Then you absolutely need to read this series! Ada does such a good job at immersing us in every scene. I also found myself enjoying the chapters with kinks that I usually wouldn't care for, so that goes to show how beautiful this writing is!

Why do you think that Andy specifically uses fandom to build cults/manipulate people, rather than more conventional religious or spiritual ideas?

This post is pretty long, but well worth a read, and gives a number of reasons why fandom has been the most convenient avenue for Andy to abuse people. Here are a few excerpted points:

Fandom has an unending, always-increasing, EXTREMELY OPEN supply of victims. [...] In real life, people are very unlikely to come up to you, sobbing, stumbling, and generally in extreme distress, and open up to you about their extensive emotional damage, their deepest, darkest secrets and fantasies, the subjects that are central to their passions, their enjoyment of life, and (in extremity) their willingness to keep breathing for another day - yes here’s the complete list - and their extreme sensitivity to certain stimuli that will quite possibly leave them shaking, their heads spinning, and their minds wide open to all sorts of fuckery - yes, here’s the other complete list. Because that would be giving a predator the keys to the kingdom, and people are distrusting enough in the offline world that they’re hardly going to leave that open for every stranger to examine, digest, and consider at length. On Tumblr, that’s sometimes contained just in the blog header. [...] An abundance of vulnerable teenage girls and naive twentysomethings. [...] A lack of parental supervision. A lot of people in fandom are HIDING from their parents. Excellent! As I noted in my reblog of that post, Andy did add elements of various religions into his cults, especially as a means of explaining how "channeling" worked and why it was a legitimate practice:

Remember, when he was first getting his claws into Abbey, how he went on and on about how a “pagan priestess” told him that elves, hobbits, etc. were real? This was the person who allegedly told him that he was a “Rare Lesbian Paladin” and that these spirits were reaching out and communicating through him. Supposedly the “Great Mother” was connecting to Abbey through Pippin, which makes no sense, and occasionally he would throw in the names of a god or two that was actually worshiped by some past culture.  Apparently this evolved into an actual religious…thing. I hesitate to say “practice” because it doesn’t seem to have been organized at all, but in her AMA, Abbey elaborated a little on the Tolkien-influenced “pagan” thing he was doing with her, Diamond, and Little Sam. She also said that toward the end of their involvement, he was trying to get her into Catholicism.

Lee (2024)

Basic Story: Model turned photographer Lee Miller captures some of the most iconic images of WWII.

Fan Thoughts: Lee is a film I personally have been very much looking forward to seeing and it did not disappoint! Kate Winslet is excellent, as usual, portraying the complexities of Lee Miller as her experiences change her from a bold free spirit to someone struggling to cope with the trauma they saw and experienced during the war.  The film splits between Lee being interviewed in 1977, gruff and initially unwilling to share her story, and 1937 through 1945 following her steps through Europe and how the images she captured came to be.  Lee’s brash and impulsive personality plays off of the steady and patient David ‘Davy’ Scherman, played adeptly by Andy Samberg in one of his rarer serious roles.  Across all the roles, the acting elevates this film from a standard biopic to an immersive and emotional experience.

Since finding this picture, I haven’t been able to stop picturing this Headcanon (that I mostly got after meeting Fiona and seeing how attentive and personable she is)…So it’s time for another

Nica Headcanon!

Nica’s favorite thing to do is listen to people talk about their favorite things. She always felt like her Mom and sister didn’t care about what she felt or what she was interested in, so she loves being able to be a safe space for her friends and chosen family.

This is also what led to Alice being so attached to her; Alice felt safe and like she could talk with Nica without it being dismissed or devalued.

Nica always feels closest to people when she can watch them talk about their passions, their eyes lighting up and their insecurities fading as they talk, and this is what ultimately helps her grow close to the kids very quickly once they meet. She also has an excellent memory and will remember details for later conversations.

If you’re important to her, what’s important to you matters to her.

Andy becomes determined to return the favor and writes down all of the questions he wants to know about her and her favorite music/shows- it becomes therapeutic for the two of them to get deep into fun conversations that don’t involve Chucky and Tiffany or the trauma they’ve faced. He eventually gets the kids in on it and they love to surprise her with gifts and trinkets from her favorite things for her birthday/holidays.

And though he basically fell in love at first sight, I also think this picture depicts the moment Andy *realizes* he’s fallen head over heels, as she sits there looking at one of the kids (probably Junior) attentively with those beautiful eyes and humming along as he talks, asking questions and he just thinks “Shit…I love her.” It’s THIS lovely moment and expression that everything sinks in and changes absolutely everything for him. 💙

okay, okay. i haven’t actually seen 2012 yet so idk donnie will probably be ooc and this obviously isn’t canon to afilas, but let me give this a shot:

Donnie takes a deep breath, and then another. He stands there for a moment, watching Andi greet his family as she enters the lair. He’s being ridiculous again, he can tell, but he’s so nervous.

She approaches the lab, angelic smile lifting his spirits even as the butterflies in his stomach increase tenfold. His hand tightens around the laser diode. He can do this. He can. He can be totally smooth and after all it’s just a little gift right?? Friends do this all the time right???

“Hey Donnie!” Andi’s greeting brings everything running around his head to a halt. Oh god. He has to do it. He has to do it now or he never will.

“Andi! Fancy meeting you here!” She cocks her head at him with a bemused smile. Oh no. “Well, I guess it’s not much of a surprise or anything. Since you came to visit us! Here where we live! Haha….” Donnie winces a little. He can totally recover from this though. Totally.

“Anyway! I’m glad you came! I was out scavenging the other day, and I found this!” Donnie holds out his hand and presents the laser diode. “It works and everything, I tested it myself! It made me think of you. Sooo I thought maybe it could help with your laser gun.” Andi doesn’t say anything, just stares at the diode and then at Donnie, eyes wide.

Donnie’s other hand goes to the back of his neck and he rubs it, hoping his laugh isn’t quite as manic as it sounds to him. “I’m sure you have dozens of these lying around. But I always say you can never have too many laser diodes!” He holds his breath as he awaits her reaction.

Andi picks up the diode slowly and looks at it. Then she looks up at him, and her smile is as bright as her eyes. “Thank you so much Donnie! This is so sweet!”

“Excellent!” Donnie is so busy trying not to give away how relieved he is that he doesn’t notice Andi getting closer. The kiss on his cheek, therefore, comes as a complete surprise. He stiffens, and his face goes white hot with the force of his blush.

She pulls away, and the amusement on her face brings him up short. “It is, um, the wrong voltage though…” She and his brothers start to laugh as he slaps a palm to his face. Well. At least he made her laugh, right?

TOP 3 Metal Albums I Enjoyed from 2023

A lot of great metal came out this year and it was hard to narrow it down to my Top 3. There were some great EPs released this year— Spiritbox’s The Fear of Fear, Brand of Sacrifice’s Between Death and Dreams and Knosis’s The Eternal Doom among them. Singles I enjoyed include: "On the Verge" by thrown, “Masterpiece” by The Anchor, “Enemy” by The Gentle Men (ft. Andy Cizek), “Weight of the World” by Harper (ft. We Came as Romans and Brand of Sacrifice), “Viking” by Slaughter To Prevail, "III" by DEATHPHONK (Nik Nocturnal's weird project); and Knocked Loose had the double, “Deep In the Willow”/“Everything is Quiet Now”.

My Top 5 honourable mentions: 5. [m]other by Veil of Maya, their newest does everything I want it to do, good riffs, cool effects, great vocals; 4. Soul Elegy by Termina, Nik Nocturna, Andy Cizek and friends deliver an awesome metal album; 3. Chaos Horrific by Cannibal Corpse is a strong entry and shows why they're still so loved after so long; 2. The Fox and the Bird by Ok Goodnight mixes folk, rock, metal and whatever else they want to create this really entrancing album; and 1. Take Me Back to Eden by Sleep Token is one of the albums I listened to the most because it's easy to put on when you're tired of being relentlessly pummelled by deathcore, but though its highs are super high, it just misses out landing on my top 3 because there are a few spots it lags

3. ...And Everything In Between - Unprocessed

Manuel Gardner Fernandes has quickly become one of my favourite guitarists between this release and Unprocessed's previous album Gold. The combination of styles on this album exemplify modern metal: bludgeoning heaviness, thumpy prog riffing (à la Animals As Leaders or Polyphia) and a mix of harsh and clean vocals. Despite the polish of these 9 tracks, some express such raw emotion and a ferocity that they really get me hyped up. The variety of tones and vocals kept me engaged throughout, and they blend and balance heaviness and melody so well. The guitar sounds so angry sometimes–especially the part of "Thrash" where Manuel beats the shit outta his guitar after screaming, "But you're just a fucking lie!" I love that. Other songs like "Blackbone" and "Die on the Cross of the Martyr" continue the trend of excellent instrumentation, the latter featuring guest solos by Polyphia's Tim Henson and Scottie Lepage. It's so well done and so engaging. In the short time I've had this album, it's become one of my favourites of 2023.

2. Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre - Periphery

When Periphery released "Wildfire" as a single I immediately bought into what they were selling. The way they transition through the various parts is seamless, the mix of vocal techniques and the jazzy interlude are all fantastic. It really captures the spirit of the whole record. Songs like "Dying Star" and "Zagreus" are also so hard. Periphery continues to show off their musical dexterity, and the band members prove once again they're not only some of the best musicians djenting their way through the world but as a collective they add up to more than the sum of their parts. My hottest take when it comes to this album is that I love "Silhouette" — it's like if you ran 80s soft rock and 90s/00s boy bands through a progressive music filter. I think they wrote this song and put it on the album just to prove they can do anything. And if Periphery is Djent, and Djent isn't a genre then why shouldn't they go in every genre direction they want to explore?

1. War of Being - TesseracT

In other years this top 3 could have been entirely deathcore or melodeath or metalcore, but this year it was djenty prog metal through and through. It's the music I gravitated to the most this year and nobody did it better than TesseracT. Daniel Tompkins vocals are incredible throughout, his cleans sounding particularly great on "Echoes" – giving us one of the best choruses before following it up with another great one on "The Grey". The album offers engaging lyricism throughout and the instrumentation is at a pedigree one would expect for a band in the vanguard of this genre. The album gives us atmospheric moments, synths, meditative passages before blasting us with metal. In many ways the whole album does what the best tracks on Sleep Token's Take Me Back To Eden do. Each song and the album as a whole provide an expansive experience. And that's why it's my number one. More than any other album released this year, TesseracT's War of Being makes me want to sit down and listen to it from beginning to end.

We just got back to Jess's car after a harrowing train journey home. That was honestly scary. A lot of stuff was a little off today. Just entirely to many people. But I still had a lot of fun.

I was worried though because I absolutely did not sleep well. I couldn't figure out where to put my shoulders andy body just ached. I would end up trying to deal with a hang nail because I was on edge and not able to let stuff go and ripped my entire big toe nail off. Just incredible. And I would have a very very fitful sleep. Just up and down all night.

Jess and James both got up about an hour before me. I'm glad I got that extra little bit because I think it helped make me normal.

When I woke up I went and got washed and dressed right away. And I felt cute. But I was worried about being cold. This ended up not being an issue at all but because I was nervous I wore a long sleeve shirt under my dress. Which I don't think looked amazing but kept me cozy.

I was honestly a little self conscious. Jess was too. I think our saving grace was that we all matched with different dark green plaids and we all liked that.

Today would be a lot of fun at time. Once we were all dressed we took some pictures of Jess and her cat in front of the Christmas tree. And it was a little hard to get LB on board but she would look very cute in the end and I think we got some excellent shots. Once I pulled out her treat jar she looked right at the camera and everything was very cute.

We left the house right before 9. It is about an hourish to the train station. So we had a lot of travel today. It was eerily foggy. But it was not a bad drive. We had some very big laughs. Like when James noted that it was the anniversary of the Ikea monkey. And then we realized I looked like the Ikea money in my new coat. We were cackling and it was great.

We were prepared for New York to have a lot of people and be kind of a nightmare. We did not expect Hamilton, the train station we go to, to be so incredibly busy. The line to get a parking spot was wild. I wasn't sure we were going to make the 10:06 train. But it would end up being just fine.

Even if there were a lot of people. Waiting on the platform was a little overwhelming. But it was fine and the train was only a couple minutes late.

Me and Jess sat together with James sitting behind us. They kept their hand on my arm in the window most of the whole ride. Me and Jess both put headphones on and listened to music to get in the Christmas spirit. I listened to the entire Muppet's Christmas Carol sound track. I would have liked to watch the scenery go by but it was still very foggy so I couldn't see much. I still enjoyed the ride even as the train filled up and people had to stand and complain loudly about standing like that was going to make seats appear.

We arrived in New York right before noon. Jess remarked that when you get to New York you don't actually get to New York until a half hour at minimum. Which is very true. Getting out of pen station and then going to find the subway and getting MetroCards is a whole ordeal. But we navigated really well. And got on the subway without to much effort. The real issue was getting off and having to up a million million stairs. I was very dizzy for a few minutes. But we would make it topside and I would recover through minimal complaining.

Our first stop was lunch at La Grande Boucherie. This place fancy fancy! Jess looked into reservations but I checked the Google info and it said the wait was 15 minutes so we risked it.

We waited in the line and the whole place was so pretty. When we got to the desk they said the wait would be 30 minutes or we could be sat right away if we would be okay with going upstairs. Which was very hot. And we decided that would be fine. And it would be a little uncomfortable but honestly wasn't to bad. Once we were sitting and took our jackets and layers off. It wasn't so good for other people. A table near us was sat 3 separate times and people would bail after only a couple minutes. We powered through.

Our waitress was very French. And the food was very good. James got french onion soup. Something they really love so I'm glad they got them. Jess got a fancy grilled cheese with ham and a poached egg. And I got a very fancy avocado toast with lemon and tomato and a poached egg. It was great.

Jess also got a mocktail that has blackberry and thyme and tasted like a really nice body wash. She liked it a lot. Smelled really nice.

We finished up there and headed out into the world.

A lot of things were just to busy. We would not be able to do them because it was to much. But I was still having fun with my favorite people. We got coffee and got chocolate. It was a very rich hot chocolate and I drank half of it before we poured the rest into their coffees which apparently was great and made the coffee amazing. I was happy to help.

We walked down 5th avenue and it was fun seeing the window displays and people watching. We would eventually make it to the plaza. Which they were not letting people in. Which was fair but it was fun to see all the very fancy hotels even if it was just from outside.

We would pull over to the side to regroup. I was enjoying our conversations and pointing out things but we needed a direction. And started heading to our next stop. To see the tree and go to FAO Schwartz.

I don't think I've ever been before and I was excited to see it. It was crazy getting there though. Just so many people. I was excited to see the tree. Apparently people complained about it but it looked good to me.

We got over to the toy store and the line to get in was around the block. But we decided to see how the wait was. And it honestly wasn't so bad. We got to stand outside the NBC studio building while we waited so that was neat. And the line moved pretty quickly.

When we finally got to the front I loved seeing the people who worked there all dressed up like toy soldiers. It was so cute.

Inside was a little wild but I was still excited. I loved seeing all the jelly cat stuff. We were specifically there to see the Jelly Cat Diner. Which was very cute. But I didn't want to get any of the food ones. Me and Jess ended up both getting the tony Christmas tree ornament they had and I love them very much.

I was also excited to see the stief bears and they had a calico critter display. They had so many great ones and I was just having a lot of fun looking even if there were to many people.

We would soon decide it was time to pay and go. Jess was a little overstimulated. Totally fair. We got in line and it actually wasn't long at all. They had that part down. I liked seeing the magnets and other little branded things. Very cute. We paid and for our layers back on and we were off.

We headed back to the subway to go to a Christmas market we thought might be less crazy. We were wrong.

When we got there it seemed alright. But it turned out we were on the farmers market side. Which was fine but we were a little confused. We liked seeing the dried flowers and peppers. And we got apple cider donuts to share. And then finally found the holiday market.

And it was just. Horrible. Like the worst part was that there was so much I would have really liked to see but it was so busy it was completely overwhelming and you could barely move. I tried to keep our spirits up but it was hard and after one aisle I gave up and got us out of there. Jess was distressed. I was trying not to be.

We would struggle for a bit after that. Trying to figure out what we were doing. We thought maybe we would head to see the lights at the botanical garden but it sold out. Which was upsetting but not the end of the world.

We decided we would got hit up a store we had heard good things about. We stopped for ice cream on the way there. I did not want ice cream, I wanted pizza. But Jess and James each got a scoop. She got strawberry and James got earl grey tea.

They both kept giving me spoonfuls as we walked down the street. And continued to joke about how they are both in love with me. That was an ongoing theme of the day. Telling me how amazing and beautiful I was. Both of them! We had big trupple energy today. They were both being very silly. I did not help when I insisted on holding hands with everyone so no one got lost. We were being very silly.

We got to the little store and it was expensive but super super cool. I took a lot of pictures for inspiration. Jess would get a yuza mayo. And we got quarters for their mini art print machine and we got three prints. I got ice cream, Jess got tomato, and James got an olive. It was a highlight for sure.

I would get my pizza and it was very good. And we walked to the fancy macaroon place Jess likes and got a gift for someone and it was a nice little stop.

When we went outside there was a whole bunch of commotion. It was a free Palestine protest. And it was very big! Someone handed me a sticker and a postcard and me and Jess held those up in support while the crowd went by. It was very exciting but also really powerful. Seeing such a large group. People eere very emotional. It was kind of amazing to be a part of it all.

We walked against the crowd and got to see the end of the group. The last vehicle was all branded with free Palestine and Gaza and it was beautiful.

We went to dinner after that. After eating a piece of Sicilian pizza I wasn't particularly hungry but Jess really wanted to go to the fancy ramen place. So that is what we did. We took the subway to Brooklyn to arrive right after the place opened.

And it was really good. They were nice enough to make space for us with a weird table situation. And the food was good. Though we both could barely early half and took the rest with us. James got a steamed bun and we shared some spicy picked vegetable and it was just really nice. I was having a great time.

James realized we were super close to their aunt Jan and uncle Will's house. So they sent a text to see if they were around and they were like yes! Come over! Your cousins here!

So we walked the 15 minutes or so over to their beautiful home.

And it was awesome. On the way there we got some free books which was exciting. And James kept gas lighting is that we were almost there. Lies. But we got there and Will and Jan welcomed us with so many hugs. And it was nice to meet James's cousin and his partner. They were both lovely. And it was such a fun little stop.

Not only do I love Will and Jan they love me and are such good actors listeners and I was able to bey best self and tell stories and it was just a lot of fun talking to them. I shared some of my collection stuff, talked about toys and such. And Jess got to talk about ux and our history. It was fun and silly and it made me feel so nice inside.

I'm excited we will get to see them again this month at Christmas. After telling some pretty gnarly stories about working in shops and catching up about both me and James's dads it was time to go. We had a train to get and lot of travel still to do.

We had to get back to the subway. Jess's feet and ankles were hurting real bad and James's legs are so long that I held James's hand to slow them down and held Jess's hand to pull her along. We were laughing about how much pain we were in and about New York and Christmas and Hanukah and it was just. Great. I was with my favorite people and it was just beautiful.

The subway was not terrible. Me and Jess were able to sit. I leaded my head on James's hand. Me and Jess discussed our Disney trip. It was a nice ride to Penn station.

Penn station on the other hand was a nightmare. It is always a nightmare. I hate going to on NJ transit it is always terrible because they don't tell you the track until 10 minutes before and then everyone goes insane.

We had some time though so to avoid the large gathering we went to find Jess a latte and me and James got Auntie Ann's pretzel bites. And then only had 15 minutes to wait. And then it got very scary.

They announced track 12 but we would have to get to the end and not the Amtrak train that was also sitting at 12. And I'm shocked no one got pushed onto the tracks because people were being insane. Pushing. Shoving. I got pushed by someone with a stroller on the escalator and for separated from Jess and James and it was terrible. But I could only move forward. People were running on the platform and it was legit scary. We had to keep moving forward but people were pushing others out of the way and being horrible.

I was still separated but I looked back and got closer to Jess and James and got them to the side of the platform with the train because I was worried about us all being so close to open track. But I would get separated again and Jess finally yelled to me to just get on even if it was full. I was able to get back to a corner in the middle of the car near the door and made space for them both so we were on and safe.

But then more and more were getting on and there was no where to go. Thankfully people by the door finally said no more and wouldn't push us any further. People tried to push from outside but there was no where else to go. Jess got very overheated and had to wiggle out of her coat. They didn't close the door for almost 10 more minutes. But we would be alright. It was scary but no one got hurt. People were sweaty and scared but we were alright.

Though people were yelling. People outside being like move so we can get on to and we were like. Where exactly would you like us to go?? Wait for the next one in 15 minutes. Finally they closed the doors and evening calmed down.

I opened a word game on my phone and we all played together while the train slowly cleared out. We had some big laughs when we couldn't remember words but it was just a lot of fun and a good way to pass the time together. And finally we were able to go sit down.

Poor Jess was dying her feet hurt so bad. Mine are not great but I know they are nowhere as near as bad as hers. We talked and tried to hold ourselves together. And soon we were at Hamilton.

Jess needed some support to get to the car. But we made it back and the next leg of the journey began. Jess changed into slippers. And James got cozy in the backseat.

I started writing this. And we have made it back to Jess's. Where we just helped her her neighbor's dog back home and she made James a coffee for the road. And we are about an hour from home.

I am very much looking forward to taking a shower and sleeping in our bed. I am happy.

Tomorrow, well today as it just clicked last midnight, I have a holiday market. My last one of the year. I hope it goes well. I'm looking forward to being in a musuem space. I think that's really cool. I hope it's fun. And it's a shorter market so I hope that it's a chill time and I just have a good time.

Please tell me about Layers!

Ha! Funny you ask about that one! I was writing for it when the ask came in last night.

Anyway, an the old guard fic, as I said, so I have a new immortal joining the team (which is the premise of like 99% of my ToG fics ^^). Her name is Theres (pronounced with only the hard 'T') and she appears to be just fine, sure she has a shitty family but doesn't everyone? She died in a car accident, she's a civilian basically (never killed anyone) and is usually in good spirits.

So the team is like "oh she's fine!" and Theres agrees. She's fine. And she joins the team easily, joking around being a sunshine support for everyone of the old depressed immortals.

However, obviously Theres is not fine. Duh. I mean who saw that one coming right? Booker/ Sebastien is the first one to realise that when she jokingly invites him over for christmas and he gets to witness how shitty her family actually is. But he keeps her secret as they are friends, but he has seen beyond a couple of her layers, her mask.

And so the story progresses as Theres looses or reveals (depends who you ask) her layers to the people closest to her (Andy and Booker) and the whole thing with Andy is of course especially tasty and end goal.

Because Theres is hopelessly in love with Andy, Andy is busy with her own issues until after the movie plot and she realises shit Theres is actually hurting and then fluff and hurt comfort and all the good shit!

Andy realising Theres is struggling after finding her playing piano in the middle of the night after knowing her for almost 2 years (Andy is a bit slow on the uptake. Did someone say Slowburn?)

Andy also hadn’t known Theres could sing. Andy had been vaguely aware of Theres’ family problems. It was hard to miss with her dad’s attitude and some of the things Booker had hinted at when they went and returned from the family holiday, but Andy hadn’t known it was this bad.  The way Theres entirely forced her emotions on the backburner when she was here. That anger, that hurt, the righteous disappointment. It just disappeared from her face. It disappeared from her eyes. She turned into a masked version of herself and it broke Andy whenever she had to witness if because it broke Theres. It was even worse when Theres’ father was around.  But even when not. When Theres was with the team. She was excellent at talking about herself without actually talking abotu herself. Andy barely knew anything about her. She didn’t know her struggles. She know so little about her, she didn’t even known she really had struggles in the first place.
