When you admit that your favorite color is brown, most people look at you with disgust. 

Why, out of all the wonderful colors that make up the world, would your favorite be brown?

“Why not blue?” Beidou proposed one afternoon over a pint of beer which glowed amber in the firelight. Blue, like the storm-empty sky of a pirate’s dream? Beidou offered you the description of Fountaine’s aquamarine waters, with the richest blues one could ever think of. Or of sapphires that she claimed to have found many of on her journey around Teyvat. Blue was the color of freedom, according to her.

Then, Xiangling insisted that red was the most beautiful color in the world! Red, the color of the hottest fire that cooked the spiciest of Jueyun Chilis. Pyro slime secretion, she added, was the tastiest of all. Why? Because they were red (though, when you asked why the color mattered, she thought the answer was so obvious that you were joking. You were too embarrassed to tell her you were serious.) To Xiangling, red was the color of passion and of love.

By this point, you avoided telling friends your favorite color, but you humored Keqing one afternoon when you walked with her home after an eventful afternoon at the Lantern Rite festival. For a moment, you didn’t need her to explain to understand. The glowing orange lanterns that filled the atmosphere made the purple sky behind them glimmer with such brilliance that you almost agreed with her. Keqing said that purple is the color of focus and determination. It’s the color of royalty; of success in a materialistic way, but also in a way that meant something more. Keqing, with the sigh of longing, said that she’d give anything to feel the calm like that which came with the color purple.

And then, they would always ask you in return why brown was your favorite. You were optimistic that it was just courtesy and that you weren’t denying them something they were curious for the answer to. You weren’t ashamed or embarrassed of the answer, but it was so intimate that you dreaded the day you’d finally have to confess why brown was your favorite color.

However, for now, things were at ease. The trees outside of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor were the most gorgeous topaz color, making the light that filtered through the leaves and into the window of the building feel warm against the autumnal air. If the scene in front of you wasn’t beautiful enough, the one person you could ever find more ethereal than the sunshine was sitting before you.

Zhongli flashed you a gentle smile as he slid a gilded teacup across the table to you. The room was filled with the aroma of earth and of cinnamon, both of which shared a smell synonymous with home in your heart. You hummed in gratitude at the warmth that emitted from the masterfully crafted drink. You didn’t have to worry about the flavor; the way it matched the auburn of Zhongli’s eyes was enough proof of its deliciousness for you.

When you looked at him like this, you remembered exactly why brown was your favorite color: The color brown all encompassing. It was your calm, your passion, love, and freedom. You could see it all in the swirl of Zhongli’s eyes and embedded in the thread of his coat which was the color of pure chocolate. Everything you longed for could be found in him; the softness you admired in him resided in his hair, the confidence you desired stayed with the dark brown shoes he walked in, and his rings, the witness of all the good he brought your soul, were so wonderfully golden. Wonderfully golden, much like him.

“You know,” His deep voice broke the silence of the parlor, “I don’t think I know what your favorite color is.”

You chuckle because he’s obviously aware of your thoughts, being betrayed by the gentle teasing in his voice and the smirk on his face.

“I wouldn’t tell you even if you asked.”

i love everything about it. it’s so visually stunning, the music is just,,,,,, immaculate, and the story line so far is so interesting (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) i’m really taking my time with the quest though, and i’m just exploring everywhere i can in between objectives (i’m rlly saying no fast travel rn lmao)

also,,, ngl,,, i want to write for tohma so bad <3 he’s so cute, i love him to pieces!!! and ayaka is so pretty i just can’t stand it ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡

Hi, I just read your Xiao Oneshot, and I’m in love with the way you write, especially for Xiao. The way he’s cynical and laments about human greed and selfishness yet he still cares for them. A jaded soft boi with a golden plush heart.

So I wanted to make a request fic. Because I needed to see more Xiao written from you. I was hoping that it may have a bit of NSFW in it, but unsure what things you are willing to write or not for NSFW and what your preferences for the reader and character’s sub/dom, top/bottom status or if you don’t care either way and are open to any position for them. (Unless you do have a list and I’m just dumb and can’t find it)

so, idk what to say to sum up my absence besides: school. im in college rn so life has been nothing but school work and it continues to be that way. (i literally have a midterm next week that im in the middle of studying for rn lol)
