so when are we getting the aforementioned Sun post as a follow up to the Cole one
IT'S RIGHT HERE BABY!!!! Also Idk why I said Sun his name is Elio I was just too preoccupied with Cole-isms I guess. I got Moon right though that's still her name.

Elio is a member of the Ultra Recon Squad! He's from Alola, and after trying to save a popplio from getting swept away in the tides of a bad storm when he was little, they were both pulled into an ultra wormhole. His family thinks he drowned that day.
In typical faller fashion, Elio lost his memories, but still retained some of his knowledge of pokemon and battling, so he and his partners Primarina and Nagandel were able to join the Ultra Recon Squad despite how young they are. Elio is also Moon's half-brother. Shortly after Elio's presumed death their mom moved to Kanto and married Moon's dad. Moon didn't even know she had a brother because their mom never talked about him, even after the divorce and going back to Alola. He's about five years older than her.
Elio serves as an antagonist, being the strongest battler of the Ultra Recon Squad and working with Lusamine. He doesn't know how awful she truly is, he just trusts that she's helping the Ultra Recon Squad with their Necrozma problem. After the events of SM, he goes back to living with his mom and has a lot of trouble adjusting to a normal life again. He's still close with all of the Ultra Recon Squad, though! He and Gladion have a pretty rocky history, but they're friends as well, with Elio committed to trying and help fix the problems he helped cause for all of Alola.

Been thinking about making Ray HOH ( hard of hearing). There's so many things going on with this dude but. Amsonia is selective mute, and I think it would be fun for her to have someone else who signs - maybe.
I've already thought about him with hearing aids too. He can't lip read well ( it's pretty taxing as is and is definitely a skill issue. At most he can pick up a few words, but I think it's something he would gradually try to develop. Not as good as Carol, who is definitely better at it). As for signing eeeeeh. I think it depends on if he's hoh bc of falling through ultra space, or hoh bc he was born with it. If he was born with it, then signing is something he kinda has to relearn, but he already knows it. If he's hoh bc of being a Faller, then oh boy, this poor kid. Sign is probably something he would struggle with in that case, and generally just prefers talking- this is true for both scenarios btw. He isn't naturally quiet/introverted like Ames. He likes to talk and meet people, a very carefree kid. Bc he's hoh, he tends to talk loudly, and is very appreciative of those who have a higher volume ( so Hau lol). I also think he may have a tendency to stare....insert sm protag stare meme here.
....this is gonna become canon huh? Maaaaan. Putting this on a shelf until I figure out the rest of Ray.
How he ends up part of the group and overall plot I'm still not sure about. I can't decide if I want him to be founded by Burnet or the Aether Foundation though. I'm kinda leaning towards Burnet bc of me realizing more of Ray's childish whimsy, but I would be lying if him being founded by the Aether Foundation would have been interesting. Much to think about!

Well now that I've finished all the short character blurbs (with the exception of Paldea's crew) I just wanted to make a rambling little post about some of my reasons for certain headcanons in this AU. There's a lot of nonsense that I imagined and reached for as I played through the games!
- Starting off strong with a few about one of my favorite families with the BYG cousins first: why I made Elio, Gloria, Hilda, and Nate all related. It's all because of the player characters mom designs for each of them- especially the Alolan mom having such similar hair to Hilda and the Unovan mom- so I thought it would be fun to have them interconnect!
- Touya and Leaf being related to Bill- Bill canonically has a lot of siblings, so fitting Leaf into his family as his youngest sister was easy. And he has a sister in Fuchsia city with her son in game, so I liked to think that the little boy was Touya who eventually moved to Unova. Bonus points for being able to draw them all with the same bangs as Bill.
- Kris and Solana from pokemon rangers being related- purely aesthetic reasons and very self indulgent. The Ranger games are very dear to my heart and I wanna get around to them sometime!
- Hilda and Nate being forgettable: Hilda bc she's absent in the sequel so I felt like she would be more like an important presence with no real face to the name, and for Nate I feel like he's not as remembered for BW2 in comparison to Rosa (while that just may be my perception of it) so I gave him that same energy as well.
- Kris is in a similar, but different, predicament as them. Kris as a character only appeared in one game before Masters, so by the initial time of the Invitation Comics, she's sort of used to being overshadowed or forgotten in both her research and champ title. She's also been my FAVORITE PROTAG since I was a REALLY young kid, and her and Hilda are still tied for first in my favs!! So I really wanted to give her a personal arc about making her own name for herself.
- Jana's entire existence: I played pokemon Moon first, and when I played Ultra Moon after, the Selene from Moon, and the Selene from UM acted out like different characters in my head, so I made Jana to embody some of those points I imagined for that Moon protag.
- Making Calem a contest coordinator is the randomest HC that may not fit at first with his character, but I imagine there being different types of contests. Ones that are flashier or musical ones that Shauna might participate in (EDIT: changing Calem's side hobbies to fencing in lieu of the contest participation)
- Another reason why I refer to Shauna as an idol as she does different kinds of shows professionally, and Calem as just a coordinator, is because he does limited shows for fun.
- Selene is based on the little girl in the house of Professor Rowan's assistant in game, who talks about pokemon trivia when talked to. I wanted to tie the faller story components to her personally, and an encounter with the distortion world was the perfect opportunity! SM and USUM was the first time I wrote my headcanons down when playing, so technically it's the first organized piece of the POKEVERSE I made back in 2016-17 👍
- It's been a default to ship the player characters together, and will most likely continue being the case- save for one brain rot exception to that rule: postwickshipping. Hop and Gloria were the first and only ship I've deviated from that just because of their interactions through the game. Florian x Juliana brings me back to the protag ships though, and I have some plans for how the Paldea timeline plays out differently in this world!
- The whole Interpol relation to Hilda's family comes solely from Looker's appearance in the BW postgame. I'll probably make a whole post about how Hilda's mom and dad are relevant in other things in Unova, so I won't talk about it too much here.
- Making Johanna be Akari: I wanted to take a present day character to be Akari that wasn't Dawn. No one else fit the bill other than Johanna, and I really enjoyed making it work in this AU!
That's all the ones I could think of today. If you did go through these, thanks for reading! This POKEVERSE is just a culmination of self indulgence of how I pictured the games as I played, and I do plan on replaying through the games to reconstruct what I keep and change through the stories! Until next post 👍

Ok, so...on Lillie. She's not a big fan of Pokemon battling, but it depends on the source material for two things.
One: if her mother is evil/insane, which varies drastically from SM (evil) to Ultra (insane, but less evil )to the Anime (actually a good person and mother, just too focused on her work and somewhat neglectful to their feelings which causes issues.)
Two: If Lillie is terrified of Pokemon. While she's nervous around them in the games and dislikes pokemon battles regardless, it's only in the anime that she has the actual fear.
The source and timing also determines any pokemon she takes with her, with there not being a single constant between all.
All things considered, your best outcome Lillie-kidnapping is for her to be taken right before the events of Sun/Moon. There's even a perfect moment right in the game's opening, where Nebby teleports them away. This would give her a 'mon (Nebby), leave her not as terrified of Pokemon as she would be in other forms (which, in Hisui, she'll need the lessened fear to not hide in Ingo's basement for all time), and also prevent any extra angst, since she won't have made any friends to miss and she was already estranged from her entire family.
...There is one thing worth noting. Mohn, her father, could just as easily show up in Hisui. He canonically fell in a way similar to Ingo, but he just landed on a weird island full of beans. Without his memories, he settled to be a happy pokebean farmer. Not much of a stretch to put him in Hisui at some point.
In regards to this post
Love your reasoning OP! You know a lot more about Lillie and her family than I do, so I think it would be best to go with your suggestions. Your points make a lot of sense!
And as for Mohn, I remember him vaguely from the games! As a faller, I could see him in Hisui at some point too, just farming. Would Lillie recognize him, even if he has no memories to recognize her?

okay milesverse lore post but for the siblings uh yay
red green and silver
okay they're kinda weird. red and silver are half brothers (same dad) and green is red from an au that got eebied into the main timeline as a little kid (fun fact her name in the timeline she came from was leaf but she renamed herself green because 1) she forgor and 2) she wanted to match red and blue). green was adopted by red's mom after she fell anyway so uh yeah.
green learns that she's a faller a little bit after rgby after red went missing but doesn't learn she is literally red from a different timeline until rainbow rocket. yes she is the red of rr giovanni's timeline.
silver learned that red took down team rocket and immediately went "woag this guy is so strong and took down my shitty dad so i need him to mentor me so i can also get strong." but then red disappeared and silver immediately assumed that team rocket kidnapped him or something. red is actually peeping the horrors on mount silver instead but no one knows that
so during gsc he impersonates red (keep in mind they don't know they're related at this point) and steals totodile. he goes around beating the shit out of random team rocket members and getting annoyed by ethan, lyra, and kris (mostly ethan) who keep accidentally running into him. ethan immediately learns that silver isn't red because 1) silver dropped his trainer id and 2) ethan is huge gigantic red super fan who's dream is to become so strong that he surpasses him in strength so of course he recognizes silver looks nothing like red
post gsc ethan, silver, and blue (who has been helping against team rocket under the alias "gary" and wearing his pokespe cape during gsc along with lance i guess he was there too) go to kanto to look for red together. they also go through the celebi event and silver beats up his dad but that's besides the point.
when they're pallet town they meet green. silver and green become besties. do they know reaction image. also blue and green hate eachother because of the whole red missing thing but that's off topic.
anyway they eventually find red. awkward family reunion. yippee. im talking way too much about them moving on
hilda and nate
ceos of ignoring the plot. hilda and nate used to live near hilbert cheren and bianca but moved away to nimbasa before the events of b1w1. hilda is a pretty minor character in b1w1 honestly she's just grinding the battle subway.
her little brother nate though actually travels with rosa and hugh. admittedly it's just so he can train up a team so he can also grind on the battle subway but he's having fun. while rosa and hugh have team plasma related angst he's just kinda chilling the background eating popcorn with his oshawott. he's just a silly guy. he looks up to his big sister a lot
selene and elio
both of them act as the protagonists in sm and are twins. selene does most of the story stuff while elio focuses on the island challenge. basically selene gets to be gay with girlfriend lillie while elio fights for his life against the beasts. elio is the serious one while selene is the silly one.
there's a gag where selene's pikachu (off topic but every protag except lucas and elio has a pikachu on their team) keeps stealing elio's hat which always annoys him. elio eventually gets a mimikyu which pops out to fight pikachu whenever that happens
gloria and victor
they fucking hate eachother. victor (the older one) thinks gloria is annoying and egotistical while gloria thinks victor is a loser and failure. victor went on the gym challenge before gloria and gave up before kabu. gloria started to resent him for giving up and started to call leon her real older brother because of how much of a loser she thinks victor is.
victor just wants to go to culinary school but once gloria gets her sobble and gets ready to go on her journey their mom forces victor to go with them. he basically becomes the brock of the group but if brock was the biggest hater ever.
#milesverse#so uh yeah#there's also florian and juliana i guess since they have the same person different timeline thing red and leaf has#but also they don't meet until area zero so uh lol

Yeah. Tumblr can be a bit extreme with its black and white thinking. So I just like to say, "Both is fine, and what works for someone, doesn't work for others". Just for fun: what is your favorite shiny pokemon, or favorite bit of pokemon lore? Or favorite episode?
Favourite bit of lore is definitely the Faller lore. Shame it didn’t get utilized in Pokeani, but I kinda had that fear once I realised it was dropped in Ultra games as well.
Favourite shiny is surprise surprise: Rowlet line! I think a found a new fav in Rimbombee too, after it was pointed out that Lilie’s Malie Outfit was Shiny Rimbombee themed ;v; Also, Alolan Sandshrew’s shiny is so prettyyyy (I feel saw about evolving my Sandshrew because it looked better before it became a Sandslash, but it’s still cool!)
Favourite episode: oh boi. SM100 and SM101 together, SM076, SM108, S016, SM043, SM099, SM049... erm that became a list of SM eps huh? lol I have a feeling SM120 might join the list.
I swear I have favourites from each series but SM episodes are leading the top fav list hard lol.

I think we should watch for the SM100 cast list this weekend, because I have a funny hunch these episodes are going to have Mohn in them.
SM100 and SM101 are featuring the Ultra Ruin but it also seems like they’re running with some sort of interpretations of Fallers in them, judging from the fact there appears to be a person living there who isn’t the guy from the games but also doesn’t appear to be native to it. Ash is entering the Ultra Ruin through some means related to Tapu Koko - notable since Tapu Koko has been investigating Ultra Beast incidents for some time, and was the one who directly led Ash to Nebby in the first place. Since we already have two people, Ash and this “Dia”, who entered the Ultra Ruin from the real world, the idea that there would be more people already there isn’t too radical.
But why hasn’t he been mentioned, you might wonder. Of course, what I’m about to say is pure conjecture, but let’s see what happens. I think Mohn disappeared into an Ultra Wormhole sometime prior to the time when Faba secretly opened one and ended up getting Lillie attacked by Nihilego. It’s worth noting that Silvally already existed at that time, which suggests that they already knew Ultra Beasts were dangerous and would need a weapon to counteract them. If Lusamine’s only motivation was to see an Ultra Beast because of her interest in them, and the Aether Foundation had no reason to think they were dangerous, why would Silvally have been created and why was Faba working on opening the Wormhole in secret? He already knew what he was doing was prohibited, but when Lillie nearly got taken too, he had to cover up everything he did because if Lusamine ever found out that Faba nearly caused her to lose even more of her family, that would be it for his career.
So now we have the Ultra Ruin. Lusamine clearly hadn’t seen an Ultra Beast before Faba summoned Nihilego, but if what I’m theorizing is right, Mohn was exploring an Ultra Wormhole that led him to the Ultra Ruin years ago and got trapped there, but no images of Guzzlord ever got to the outside world. They only knew that beyond the Ultra Wormhole was a ruined world, which would be enough to worry that the Ultra Beasts were a threat that needed a prepared response. It’s conspicuous that Ash is going to the Ultra Ruin alone without the Ultra Guardians. That, along with the fact that it’s a two-parter yet Guzzlord is not on the poster or in the opening, makes me very suspicious that this is merely an introduction to something much bigger that will take place during SM’s final year. What I think is that Ash will encounter Mohn in the Ultra Ruin and, whether he realizes who Mohn is or not, will reveal that he’s there to Lusamine when he returns, along with the fact that there’s a terrible Ultra Beast unlike any other there as well. This would lead to Lusamine plotting an Ultra Guardians rescue mission, but during the Poni Island arc, Guzzlord comes through the Ultra Wormhole first and has to be dealt with in Alola before they can go into the Ultra Ruin and rescue those trapped there.

Conspiratorial ramblings about USUM...
Soooo... that trailer(?) for USUM has got me thinking back to the SM announcement. “It all comes together”. There wasn’t really an explanation for that in-game, but if USUM is referencing all the cosmic/weird stuff in previous games...
...Might as well list all of it and try to work out how it could fit together, right? All of the left-over mysteries?
KANTO
Well, there’s not really a lot...
Except Clefairy. The Clefairy line are from the Moon. They have a mystic moon dance.
So, Pokemon can come from outer space. That’s been established for 20 years now. It’s canon. No one disputes it.
So... what is a Pokemon, if it’s not necessarily something that’s only found on Earth...?
The Clefairy also dance around meteorites in HGSS... I’ll come back to that.
JOHTO
What are the Unown?
They’re freakishly powerful in large numbers but not very strong at all alone. In fact, they may be the weakest of all fully-evolved Pokemon simply because they only get one attack and that’s Hidden Power. Come on, even Cosmog got two moves, and at least Magikarp gets Flail...
In fact, they are so strong that they can create gods, if we count the Arceus event as canon (and I see no reason why the concept shouldn’t be).
That said, they only do the god-creating thing in the presence of Arceus and presumably at its command. So what’s the relationship of Arceus and the Unown?
HOENN
Where did those dimensional distortions come from? Most of it was Hoopa’s fault but Palkia, Dialga and Giratina were in special rifts that didn’t look like Hoopa’s handiwork.
More meteorites, like with the Clefairy, but this time relating to Deoxys. We know that Deoxys was created by the Ultimate Weapon in the ORAS verse, but what about in RSE? Remember, the RSE verse is still canon, just a different canon. It had no Kalosian War. So where did that Deoxys come from?
What happened to the Emerald canon? We can assume that the Ultra Beasts attacked the Battle Frontier, but how did they get there in sufficient numbers to be a major threat to the Frontier? And what happened after Annabel fell into the SM verse?
Looker washed up on the beach of the ORAS Frontier with no memories. This made me think during the UB quest that Looker would be a Faller, but he never was. Or at least, Nanu wasn’t aware that he was a Faller if he was one, and I feel like their superiors would at least have informed Nanu. So what happened to Looker’s memories, why was he on the beach, and where did he get that Audinite?
(Interesting note: Looker wasn’t in RSE. Obviously this is because he was introduced in Platinum, but ORAS made a point of bringing him in anyway. That, and he keeps reappearing and being developed in a way that no other character is. Is Looker more important than GF is letting on...?)
SINNOH
What is Arceus’s deal? If it’s God, why can it be caught? Did it lose its power? And if so, does that have anything to do with the Unown?
This is a really minor question, but since the Distortion World was in the “trailer”: how does Ultra Space interact with the Distortion World? US is outside of normal spacetime, so we can assume it’s seperate from our world’s twin, but can an Ultra Wormhole open in the Distortion World?
(Because if it can, that raises the possibility of Cyrus meeting one, and that’s kinda scary.)
What became of Cyrus, and did his Commanders ever find him?
That building in Hearthome. Sorry, there’s no way that’s a community centre. That’s a religious building, right down to how it’s designed and everyone acts inside. And yet, there’s no mention of a Legendary Pokemon. Am I reading too far into this or is something else going on?
UNOVA
N and Ghetsis’s relationship. There’s a massive resemblence, but N is somehow adopted? What gives?
The Abyssal Ruins. The “trailer” showed them, so they’re important. They contain an alphabet never seen anywhere else, items that can’t be found anywhere else, and have some kind of weird effect to flush people out. Oh, and they venerate an unknown king, which could be one of the brothers... but which one? Why only that one?
When did the splitting of the Original Dragon occur? That civilisation was “at its peak” 2,500 years ago. That’s WAY too close to the magic 3,000-year mark for my comfort. If it was at its peak 2,500 years ago then it’s plausible it could have been founded 500 years beforehand and thrived, and if the brothers apparently had a hand in shaping Unova, then that might mean Unova was founded 3,000 years ago.
That’s especially interesting because Unova is set in New York, which is a much later settlement than any others shown in the game. (There were Native Americans in the area before that, true, but it’s based on the modern New York aaaaand somehow I doubt Native Americans factored in much to the creation of Unova’s backstory. Unfortunately.)
The Entralink suddenly became much more interesting with the return of Burnett, since it’s connected to the Dream World/Interdream Zone. It’s literally a portal between alternate realities. Looking at the importance that ORAS and SM have given to alternate realities, that’s pretty interesting. Is there a connection between the Entralink and the Ultra Beasts?
Elgeyem/Beheeyem. They’re aliens, right? So how did they get to Earth? It’s a similar deal to Clefairy...
KALOS
The Lumiose ghost girl. Yes she’s based on an urban legend, but every other creepy thing in Pokemon has made sense in context. We get no context for the ghost girl. Who is “the one” and does this girl have any connection to the train station message?
The statues of Reshiram and Zekrom in Parfum Palace. Why those two Pokemon? If you take into account my previous point about Unova potentially being founded 3,000 years ago, and compare that with Kalos’s timeline and those two statues...
...then you’re almost forced to conclude that there’s a link between Kalos and Unova. France colonised a good chunk of North America. NY was British, I grant, but the real-world comparison isn’t too far off. The real-world comparison therefore begs the question of whether Kalosians founded Unova...
...and if so, where did the hero brothers come from? We know who Kalos’s king was 3,000 years ago and what he was doing at that time, and we know the brothers are royalty. We also know what his brother was doing. Were Unova’s kings their sons?
It was a Lucario that first Mega Evolved according to XY, but Rayquaza had a Mega Evolution before that according to ORAS. So this power got suddenly granted to lots of different Pokemon via the ultimate weapon... but that begs the question of why Rayquaza could do it when nothing else could. Why was Rayqaza just more receptive to Infinity Energy? If it was Arceus it may make a little more sense, but...
ALOLA
If the Z-Ring can be used for Mega Evolution, does that mean that Z-Power is Infinity Energy under a different name? That’s not as odd as it might seem. No Alolan Pokemon can Mega Evolve, and no Mega Stones are natively found in Alola, so it’s not a stretch that people wouldn’t realise they were the same thing...
(But what does that mean for an RSE-verse Alola? No Infinity Energy = no Z-Power = no Z-Moves = the island challenge is totally different...)
Why is Alola such a focal point for UB activity?
What’s with those empty plots of land?
Mohn is bugging me. He’s a Faller, right? But since when do Fallers end up back in their original universe?
Yep, I’m calling it: the Mohn of Poke Pelago is USUM’s Mohn and SM’s Mohn is going to be in USUM.
The guy in the desert who was given “star pulses” by a Lunatone/Solrock which were then passed down to a “group of wonderful men”. Many people suspect this is a reference to the O-Power men in ORAS and thus Mr Bonding. That scene with Mr Bonding’s creation was never explained. Why is it being brought up in a game without O-Powers?? Are we going to find out what his deal is? Because seriously, what the heck?

Okay back to Looker. Is he a Faller or no? I don't think he is, cause if he was, then Anabel literally wouldn't be needed. That being said, it's still weird how he just. Shows up on the shore in Hoenn with amnesia. And then by SM he's fine, remembering everything, even Anabel and Nanu. Of course, that would mean his amnesia was cured, but it's still weird. How did he get into that position in Hoenn? How was he able to even recover? How did he make his way back to the international police? Why hasn't he ever mentioned Emma, if he remembers his past now.
And let's say Looker is a Faller. Again. How the fuck does he remember his past? We know that the amnesia can last for years- look at Anabel. 10 years in the mega evolution timeline, and she doesn't remember her past other than the battle tower and her name. So what's up with Looker? Did the international police had anything to do with it? If so, why the fuck didn't they do that for Anabel? It's one thing that they kept certain information away from her, but it's another thing that they kept the fact they can potentially cure her amnesia too. Of course, this is pretty much hc territory.
Looker has been a character that's been in the plot of multiple pokemon games ever since Platinum. The mega timeline is weird cause we don't know where those games take place. Wally kinda implies that Oras takes place before SM, maybe around the same time as XY if the notes about the Ultimate Weapon are to mean anything. For all we know, platinum probably never happened. Or maybe it did, I don't know.
Again. Shaking Gamefreak. Please give us clear answers. It's fun to speculate, but we can only speculate so much.

I think it's probably safe to say this is what the anime was waiting for to progress. Most likely Movie 21 will be about Necrozma, Solgaleo and Lunala, too. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are most likely sequels to Sun and Moon. I bring this up because there is a plausible case for them to be prequels, but that case has a few flaws: -Team Skull can't appear because they couldn't be resolved in the game. Same with the Aether Foundation - the game would have to end with a bad ending in order to correctly match the timeline. -the plot *could* be about Necrozma being separated from Solgaleo/Lunala and buried underground while also covering Looker, Nanu and the original Faller, but again, bad ending. Not to mention that this would require Necrozma and all UBs other than Guzzlord being unobtainable. -the trailer implies new Z-Moves such as one for Mimikyu. This makes lining up with the original timeline impossible, as why would these new Z-Moves and their crystals disappear? -no Pokemon League would leave the game in an even rougher state than the experimental SM format. -many important characters like Kukui and Lillie would have to be dramatically altered or eliminated. For these reasons my theory on the plot is this: some years after the events of SM, Faba and/or Wicke betray Gladion, Lillie and Lusamine and attempt to take over the world using Ultra Beasts and Necrozma. Looker and Anabel are forced to return to Alola and eventually recruit the player to assist in dealing with this new UB case. In the postgame, Lillie returns from Kanto with a cured and repetant Lusamine and is the game's strongest opponent.
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm stupid. Didn't see the "alternate story" thing when I wrote this. Now I'm not so sure how excited I am anymore...
