i love leitmotifs so much. like. here’s this audio cue that, whether you consciously hear it or not, is associated with this character. it plays during their introduction, blends with other character’s motifs, and if they’re having a corruption of self? that leitmotif becomes a minor key baby!!

even in musicals, you can take the notes from the chorus of a character’s “i want” song and have them pop up again and again to remind us that Hey, This Is Important! This Moment Is Fundamental To This Character As A Person! It Is Going To Become Integrated Into Their Motivations Going Forward!

i ESPECIALLY love when you take this character’s leitmotif and alter it to use it for their narrative foil. like these two people are direct opposites, but can’t you see how inseparably connected they are? how they couldn’t be more alike if they tried? that maybe, if they’d been a little bit different or ever so slightly more or less lucky, that could be them standing on the other side of the fight?

Hello, one and all! Call me Cherry. I am a writer and reader who has been on Tumblr for a few years since around 2020, but I only recently started writing for the fandoms I am in around Autumn of 2024. My current biggest interests lie in HOTD, Arcane, Batman (2022), Genshin Impact, SM:ITSV and SM:ATSV, and Marvel (specifically X-MEN and old era), Alice in Borderland, Squid Games, and HSR.

I used to write pretty much non-stop years ago around 2017-2018 and stopped due to lack of interaction in my fandom. I only came back because of HOTD, which became my muse and quickly gave me my spark back, although I consider myself pretty amateur still. i dont think ive ever ranted about the leap of faith scene in sm:itsv as much as i rant about that movie in my head.

first off. the score. lovely. amazing. beautiful.

second. the visuals. i'd snack on it. i'd run it through a microscope. i'd do laundry and hang it out to dry. i'm so unbelievably feral for it words cannot describe it.

third. the suit. the paint. the way he took a legacy and went "nah imma do my own thing" like slay he's still a hero, but he's miles and it's more than him being a spider man, but he has a legacy. the prowler. his dad. his mom. his culture and heritage.

fourth. the glass. it broke. he was still scared but he pushed though and it was so beautiful. and then the tilt so it looks like he's rising and not falling. i'm sobbing. on the ground. rolling. eating literary analysis bars.

Okay so first of all

so i rewatched spider-verse last night and i realized....spider-ham, peni, and noir all immediately went to aunt may upon landing on earth-1610. which is sweet because it implies that in all their dimensions, they have an aunt may (or someone like her) who looks out for them and cares for them, but it’s also hilarious when you consider that may would’ve had no clue alternate dimensions were a thing until the first of the spider-gang showed up. which begs the question.... which of them showed up first?

did she open her door to find a teenage girl with a giant robot powered by a psychic spider on her porch?

was it a monochrome guy who brings the wind everywhere and won’t stop monologuing about how tortured he is?

was it a talking cartoon pig with the voice of john mulaney who, as established by a billboard we see in the background at one point, exists and is an established comedian in this dimension?

i need to know.

Miles + becoming Spider-Man

We need more fics with Miles, a artist we know is currently experimenting with colors, teaching Noir, the guy who lives in a world with a grand total of three colors (black, gray, white), about color.

Some ideas:

Miles would get so excited he would pull out a color wheel or maybe draw one in markers to explain primary colors (he gets a little carried away and starts explaining complementary and analogous colors and would lose Noir to confusion) and how to mix them only for them to get in a argument over if turquoise is more green than blue

Noir getting caught in the middle of a arguement between Miles and Peni over what the primary colors are (red, yellow, blue vs magenta, yellow, cyan)

Noir's mind breaking over every color having a different intensity (pastels and neons)

Miles pointing out each color in the sunrise/set

Gwen points to a rainbow and asks if he knows what the colors are and he gets it right. Not because he can recognize them but because Miles taught him ROY G VIB

Once he gets the main six down he pretends he still doesnt know colors to purposely get the others upset (Miles is in on this. He often points to graffiti and asks what color it is when he wants to antagonize Peter B)

When he finished the rubiks cube correctly for the first time Miles was so proud of him. He thought it was great Noir got the colors right but Miles was just blown away that Noir solved a rubiks cube without looking up cheats

Miles buys him children's puzzles to help him practice recognizing colors. Later they keep a 1,000 piercer at Noir's that they do together
