POV something with Morgan and Barry?

Gladly! Let’s go with their first meeting as superheroes (from Barry’s POV instead of Morgan’s this time):

The other meta helped him up. “You alright?”

He nodded, slightly stunned. They sounded…strangely young, almost like a kid. But that couldn’t be—maybe they just had a young voice. “Yeah. And you’re…?”

“Sentry.” They grinned. “And you’re the Streak. Nice to meet you.”

He grimaced—he loved Iris, really, but that name was not it. But then, a wave of clones swarmed up the escalator, and he said, “Fight now, talk later? He’s a multiplier. You take the ones on the left, I’ll take the ones on the right?”

“Got it.” And with that, they were off.

The clones were legion—as fast as Barry dispatched one, two more seemed to spring up. It was like a worse version of the Hydra conundrum.

Not to mention, he was still curious about the meta he’d been talking to—Sentry. A name…a protective one too. Had they named themself that?

Speaking of Sentry, though, they seemed to be having some trouble with a headlock, so Barry rushed over to give them a hand.

“This isn’t working!” They called over to him, fighting off more clones with their shields.

“I have an idea!” He called back. “If I take out Black, that might stop the clones!”

“Good call! Try not to die!” They teased.

He snorted, zipping away. At the very least, they had a sense of humor. Most bad metas didn’t…so Barry started to wonder: Maybe they’re like me.

And if they were…maybe he could help them. Maybe the Team could. He decided to float the idea after the fight, see how they took it. He’d offered Bette this chance, so why not Sentry?

Except…things quickly went awry. The window shattering, Black falling, Barry reaching out to catch him and hold him fast…

Black pulled away, but then Sentry appeared, grabbing his wrist. “It doesn’t have to be like this!” They called, voice rising in desperation—and their mouth was covered, but those tear-filled blue eyes certainly weren’t. “You don’t have to—”

“Don’t act like you understand!” Black snarled. “I lost everything! My wife…my best friend…I had to bury her because of what Stagg did! Imagine that!”

Sentry recoiled, and in their distraction, Black pulled free and fell to his death.

They screamed, horrified as a hand flew to their mouth, shaking in terror…and all Barry could do was rush them outside and try to calm them down.

Forget STAR Labs. Forget all of it. He could hear the Team urging him to get Sentry over there, but…he couldn’t. Not when they were like this.

“Are you okay?” He murmured gently as they came back to themself.

They shook their head quickly—and this close, Barry could see how young they really looked. “C-can I…can I hug you?”

College-age, then. Close to childhood, even if they’re past it. He nodded, pulling them into a hug and rubbing soothing circles on their back as they sobbed.

I’m going to protect you, he decided, right then and there. If you want to be a hero…then I’m going to teach you.

(Little did he know just how important Sentry would grow to be to him.)
