Vibes and descriptions and details have always been what I enjoy in books and fics, and I'm glad that I've managed to get that through in my writing. I've always admired how Harlan Ellison did his story telling, especially with how little dialogue his stories actually feature, but how he still made amazing stories and worlds despite it.

Metaphors have always been one of my more difficult aspect, but I'm glad that it's been a noticeable improvement!

• i would like to go to the park more, i wish i had energy to walk and draw again but i just go to the playground swings for my mental health occationally now 😔

• i am reading so many danmei novels like one after another.. balancing my time between reading and doing other things is a careful balance

• winter holiday gifts are on my mind.. one has been ordered but many more to figure out..

idk like theres comics to read too and games to play, and books to read, and so much art supplies i shud fucking use one of these days.. need to get back into watercolours lol.....

why write letters?

because its fun! writing down communication is good for us, as it helps strengthen our bonds. we also like to decorate everything, which is super relaxing. it helps specific alters communicate clearly too. if a certain alter needs to tell someone else something specific, a letter can be a good way of doing this. or it can just be for positive silly things! it doesnt have to be serious at all (most of ours arent!)

what do you put in them?

we'll be making posts with more ideas, but it can be anything youd like! tags like #snailmail are good for basic inspiration. you can write about anything, tho we prefer to keep things lighthearted & positive in letters. some basic ideas include:

how do you organize?

we have a system mailbox, where alters can drop off letters. next to it is a log that includes: who the letter is for, who its from, and the date it was put in the mailbox. when an alter fronts, they can check the mailbox log! if they have a letter, they can get it from the box & read it.

I've been divorced for five years from the useless lump I married. I'm still getting snailmail for his retirement account -- the one I started for him.

A friend pointed out that this probably means I'm still its beneficiary if he kicks it. This is likely true. Not gonna go commit murder to find out, however.

The call I got was about his email settings; when he moved out he couldn't send email. The answer was that he switched Internet providers and needed to change his email client's SMTP settings. Which is probably one of the first things his new provider told him.

When I explained the problem he said, "Oh. I figured you screwed it up somehow."

Dude, I was your fairy godmother for most of thirty fucking years; it is some kind of assholery to declare me the Wicked Witch of Your Life.

In my country we now need an app to log in to our citizen data and profile. Yes no matter who you are, they pressure you to get a smartphone that can handle this app, or else you will not get notifications from the health care system, tax registration, bank, benefits or other things that really matter.

And lately they want us to use a 2-point acess using a QR code. Meaning you need to have the app on a smartphone or tablet with a camera, and then you scan the QR code on another device

I do like apps and I do like that I am able to securely log into my data, apply for benefits and see my journals like this. And I guess that a 2-point access makes sense.

But it's horrible for my grandmother. And for people who don't like smartphone or cannot afford two devices. And you need to meet in person at the citizens service to get help, if you don't have an app.

Luckily we still get our voting card per snailmail and we are automatically registered for voting when we turn 18. The constitution demands this.

But in so many other cases, you are fucked if you cannot use a smartphone. Especially sight impared people and people with memory disorders, have a hard time getting help.

The technology is great for me. But we need some disability awareness and focus on people who cannot access the digital world.

(Also this is why most veey poor or homeless people are issued a cheap smartphone from the government. We can now donate money to the homeless using a phone pay app... yay?)

Its very annoying that we often use technology in contexts where the technology is by far the least convenient way of doing things.
