Is Lorwolf fun?
i think it is! its obviously still very new so its a little rough around the edges in some areas but im really enjoying it so far
id say its much more focused on the breeding mechanic than the collecting one kind of similar to flight rising in that you cant really just go get wolves but you breed and buy them from other users (and theres wild wolves but those are rare (WHICH i like personally)). i also really like that theres a built in option to sell your wolves for stud so other users can breed them with their own. theres a BIG colour wheel and some nice coat types and breeds so far IMO theyre all a little samey but they arent like. identical which is good
the daily tasks imo are very fun. short and simple but theyre endless so you can just log in do as many as you want and leave. theres a like weekly event that you get "tickets" from doing the tasks in addition to earning currency which i think is cool. the events are tied to the minigames (fishing mining farming etc.). you can also earn a decent amount of the currency from them because theyre so quick you can do a lot IMO
the minigames are fun! i like the fishing and cooking best so far. i think the ones that have different levels you can unlock are a bit highly leveled (level 12 for fishing and mining before u unlock the next level) but its just the same sort of thing in a different area so i cant complain too much, just personally i would like to see it a bit different. i really like the cooking mechanic and i like that theres so many ways you can get food, and that you can discover and unlock more complex recipes. cant wait until they add more and i can play around with it :]
the campaign so far is REALLY fun. youre like exploring fighting enemies finding food etc. but theres also the actual "lore" and stories and NPCs and stuff that i think is really interesting so far and where it finishes up (theyre not complete so its short at the moment) im definitely interested in seeing more. ive done 2 of the 4 so far and theyre similar in mechanics (go fight x enemies/go find y number of items/etc.) but i think its fun. theres also a gauntlet where you just fight as high a level as you can go and get better rewards based on how far you can go AND theres a PVP option? but i havent done either of those
i havent gotten much into the apparel yet but some of its really fun AND i really like that you can do custom apparel. it seems kind of expensive to be able to make it in the first place which is understandable but a shame, but ive seen soem very interesting and creative things! i would like to dive into it a bit more once i have a bit more money but its all premium currency which i dont have much of yet
that ^ is one complaint i do have a lot of things on site are put behind premium currency while its VERY hard to get. there are ways to get it without paying for it such as selling things and custom apparel etc. and you can also "make" it with items you find but its very slow that way. i assume once the site economy stablises a bit more itll be a bit easier to come across but for now its not the best
you can also have companions little pets for your wolves. cute. you can play with them and they can fight with you in the campaign and you level them up and stuff as well. very fun
um thats about all ican really think to say so far... personally i am enjoying it! it scratches a similar itch that flight rising does while also having or expanding on features that ive seen a lot of people wish fr had over the years. plus theyre cute little puppys aw awwwwww
#answered asks#sorry i ended up explaining half the site mechanics to u INDSFS#its fun! i like it so far. its still very clearly a young site but not in a way tahts like 'its bad now but will be good later'#i think its still very enjoyable now

Hey. Mutuals. Mini psa.
I've been seeing a lot of defeatist "ohhhh i guess we just have to deal w biden :/"
YALL they havent even gotten to half the delegates.
https://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/national.php?year=2020&off=0&f=0&elect=1
72% remaining??? Are you really going to let the money being funneled into ad campaigns for biden defeat you before its even done?
Get. A. Grip.
Talk to your family members. Now. Especially if they are in other states.
Also keep in mind that the two upsets I was most surprised about (Virginia and Michigan) both happen to have Open Primaries. You do Not have to be a democrat to vote in the primary.
I just checked and I thought I would be at least a little off, but i am actually floored at how closely they do align.

Huh.
Anyway. Not super relevant. Regardless.
Stop putting this sad sack junk on my dash about how Biden is not so bad when this shit is not half done. Dont do their work for them.
Now is the time. We are in a crisis that is highlighting every underlying cause. I beg you, speak to your relatives and friends about these things. Especially if they have not voted yet.
Arguments for Biden fall apart like paper, but he has a MACHINE behind him.
People are scared. Talk to them for two seconds. This can be scary.
Please DM me if you would like help laying out talking points and common logical fallacies I've run into talking to older relatives and how to help explain them.
Might be another post....
(Hint, greatest hits inclue "i just think bernie is too loud/jewish!" and "i think Other people would be more comfortable voting for Biden")

#politics#text post#long post#no this is not any particular person#its been all of ya#yall making me pause my Very Busy reblog schedule to make an original post#what is the world coming to#but if i see one more sad sack post i will scream#I TRUSTED YALL#cant wait for aries season#yall cant handle pisces raw#its cool

PLEASE go off about ur dnd character... I love dnd so much it's unreal.......
OH OH OH!!!!
So! My DM is running the new campaign Descent into Avernus, and I was a little shit and went "How thematically appropriate can I get :)"
I'm playing a fallen aasimar warlock of the fiend! Her name is Gabrielle, and she was raised from birth in a Temple (she doesn't know anything abt her birth parents!), guided by both her Celestial Guide and the priests of the Temple to one day become a great, powerful Warrior of God and defeat evil. When she was about 11, she was tricked into making a deal with a demon- Her Celestial Guide was incredibly cold and harsh, they always said she wasn't ready and she had to work harder, be better to earn their respect (which is all she ever wanted, really). So when she's told that this being can give her the power that her Guide refuses to in order to destroy evil, in order to destroy all those nasty demons, Gabrielle doesn't think twice about saying yes. She doesn't remember much from that day except for the signing of the deal (Zariel summoned a wretch bound in hellfire chains and they had to. carve their signatures into his skin?? it was too late for Gabrielle to back out now despite how much that freaked her out) and the subsequent Falling. Her Guide rejected her, and she was kicked out of the temple- She was unclean and tainted by evil. For the next several years she had to fend for herself on the streets of Baldur's Gate as best she could, her entire life flipped upside down. One of the Priests occasionally helped out in secret, sympathetic, and her charm helped her out of some tough spots. She spent all her free time angry, continuing her paladin training as best she could and practically living at the Library, researching all she could about Fiends and Devils.
She's 15 now, and she's still angry, and still determined to figure out how to break her pact and regain the favour of her Celestial Guide. (She knows it's a lost cause, deep down, but she refuses to give up. She's a stubborn bastard). She's loud and not very nice, very much a rebellious teen, but not a bad person even though she's convinced she is! She was recently tricked into helping the rest of the party w a coup against one of the Dukes of Baldur's Gate- it failed, and now the Duke is out to get them. That's how she met the rest of party, and she wasn't very happy about it (but they're growing on her).
One of the party members is a big giant man named Ivan- he's a famous gladiator from the Pit, and Gabrielle definitely idolizes him just a bit. She's seen him fighting in the Pit before when she can get there, and thinks he's super cool and tough!!
During the first session on Saturday, Gabrielle 1. held her alcohol better than the grown adult orc, 2. Got to gamble in a game of Baldur's Bones against the queen of gambling and won the first game, and 3. Killed four men at once by bursting fire from her palms and then immediately got punched unconscious by someone else! Baldur's Gate is definitely a bloody city but she hadn't killed before- watching those people go up in the flames given to her by a fiend is gonna bother her got a while, however used to death and gore she's gotten just by living in that city.
TL:DR Gabrielle is baby and I love her so much, this campaign has a lot of potential Hurt in store for her oh man!!! I havent really drawn her yet but I did make?? a picrew at school for her basic looks!
#allyasks#anonymous#allynasocs#gabrielle#dnd#ajdkdh ty for asking!!!#sorry for how much this is im just very excited abt the character i made#shes a little punk w lots of angst

OK if u havent gotten this yet already, what kind of stuff were you hoping to do with glados on denny??? besides testing, of course, (or i mean go into THAT if you want to too. im not stopping you.)
OKAY
but honestly yeah testing is a big part of it. except... i dont think glados on denny really cares about what kind of testing it is. shes in testing for the pure science of it (and the compulsion programmed into her, but, yâknow) so she could be very open to testing something for other people. itâs about the science and the advancement, really. thats not to say she doesnt care at all, but like... will she end up testing something beneficial for denny as a whole? will she end up with GRACE (willingly or otherwise)? will she end up at paigeâs magic school teaching physics to kids learning telekinesis? weâll see. i figure there is... a lot of plot potential
on another note, since sheâs post portal 2 (at least the single player campaign... when we doing co-op,), sheâs in a position to. actually potentially form a more healthy relationship with people? glados needs healthy relationships more than she realizes, but the humility and conscious shes earned (because i am fully in the camp that she didnt delete caroline) has put her in a position where she CAN interact fairly without people and not... try to kill everyone this time... wow that sounds dark when i put it like that. but yes. glados could use Friends.Â
one thing id like to experiment with a plot is the fact that she CAN get a different body. i mean hopefully not as bad as potatOS but i feel like the fact she COULD be removed from that big mainframe has plot potential? it would like. REALLY depend. but its a nice option for an otherwise very immobile character.Â
otherwise IM GONNA SEE HOW IT SHAKES OUT HONESTLY

who are your favorite critrole characters in campaign 1 & 2? :>
Campaign 1: In order from most fav to least
Grog!!! is my favorite! He is so funny, and so good, and Travis plays him so freaking well. You can tell he had such a good grasp on this character and his improv chops really shine through playing him, anytime he says or does anything itâs an absolute delight. <3
Scanlan! A very close second to grog, Almost tied. Sam is a genius, and Iâm really convinced after seeing him play scanlan AND nott now that heâs justâŚ.got this really special ability to create a character and develop them slowly and satisfyingly, to take a character that could be a one note joke in someone elses hands and turn them into a deep and compelling layered real person. He kind of reminds me of Justin Mcelroy in that respect. You can tell how much he cares about his characters. Scanlan grew on me so much and I just adore him.
Vax: iâm sorry but this long haired angsty anime boy who loves his sister more than life was bound to make me fall in love.
Vex: likewise, this incredibly savvy and cool and charming but secretly insecure badass elf lady with a giant pet bear was ALSO bound to make me fall in love. Her and vax are tied, and their relationship is one of the highpoints of S1 for me. Iâm a sucker for siblings.
percy, pike and keyleth donât do as much for me but theyâre still enjoyable to watch :)
Campaign 2:Â In order from most fav to least
NOTT!!!!! I love this character so much she is so much of what Iâve always wanted in a character, and sam plays her so beautifully. She has the perfect mix of lovely and monstrous, sheâs the ugly heroine Iâve always wanted to see, unbeautiful but not unloved or unvalued, she is observant and caring and generous and wise and brave, but also haunted and anxious and animalistic and self defacing. She just has so many levels and still manages to be so funny and cute while also being one of the cleverest and most mature of the group. She just loves her boy and her new family so much. And I can tell thereâs even more depth to her character we havenât even skimmed the surface of yet. Â
Beau!!! I really love how marisha plays this character, I kind of think this character is just really perfect for her? Beau is just so relatable. Sheâs awkward and abrasive and unpalatable and feels like she shouldnât be who she is, yet canât HELP but be who she is and thatâs so real. I like the dynamic between her being physically graceful and cool yet socially clumsy and emotionally disastrous, shes the right balance of bottled up insecurity and macho posturing and I just love her. The gay punk monk of my heart.
Jester! : Is played so well, Laura has such acting chops itâs unreal and her sense of humor is really getting to shine in this campaign. Jester is adorable and bubbly but sheâs gone so beyond being a Manic Pixie Dream Tiefling, she has depth and emotionality and subtlety that is really nice to watch as it unveils. And her voice is adorable. <3
Caduceus! Best boy, I love him so much already. Heâs so new yet already so unique and layered, this most recent episode pushed his character to very cool places and Taliesen did a great job respecting the character heâd created. Iâve never really seen a character exactly like the deuce and I just hope he stays safe because I love him.
Caleb! Is also very good, funny yet tragic, complex and played very well. And his friendship with Nott fuels me so, gotta love him. <3
Yasha is cool but Ashleys gone so much I havent gotten to see as much of her as Iâd like :p And Ironically, with Grog being my fav of S1, Fjord isnât doing much for me right now, and Iâm pretty sure thatâs because his choices feel inconsistent, however, Iâm pretty sure theyâre not actually inconsistent, Itâs just that travis is hiding a lot right now about Fjord, playing his past and motivations close to the chest. He might go higher up the list as things develop, who knows? Molly also didnât do much for me and Iâm sorry about that :{ Iâm sure he would have if weâd gotten a chance to know him longer, but câest la vie. Maybe heâll be back? Who knows.

Introduction Post :V
Hey Critters! My name is Rose (they/them pronouns), and this is my Critical Role sideblog.
About me: I'm an lgbtq+ artist with too much free time, but not the functioning brain cells to use it properly. I like to draw/paint, worldbuild, tend to my OCs, daydream to music, all that good stuff. Occasionally I also write, conlang (badly), play videogames, text rp w/friends, and/or whatever other stuff my messy brain decides I'm supposed to be doing today (...while giving only half the motivation necessary for me to actually do or complete any of that 'stuff'). Most of the time I'm nocturnal, especially when it comes to catching CR3 episodes as they air, but my sleep schedule still flips around quite a lot so that might differ from day to day.
This is my sideblog, risingroleakira, mainly for Critical Role content and discussions of adjacent series. For my artwork, visit my art blog, risingroseart ...and maybe drop some reblogs while you're there! (This blog also includes my critical role art.) For minecraft and (non-dsmp) MCYT content, visit miningroseakira. I hope I dont scare you off with my wild-ass headcanons lol For my main blog, where I mostly just reblog random stuff and talk sometimes, visit risingroseakira. it's a hot mess, ngl
Critical Role related info:
When did I start watching?
I caught the first half of C3E1 as it aired, then had to stop watching and stopped for a while. A couple months later I binged that and all the other episodes that had aired since then.
What campaigns/Series have I watched?
Finished or up-to-date: > I watch Critical Role C3 as it airs > I watch 4-Sided Dive as it airs > I watched EXU:Calamity as it aired > I watched EXU:Kymal as it aired Work in Progress: >I started watching Campaign 1's original Briarwood Arc, as I cannot watch TLOVM due to the visual violence that I can't stomach. However I have yet to finish it oops- > I have attempted Campaign 2 several times and it didn't work out as I couldn't get past Episode 3 - until now. As of writing, I'm at C2E53. I'm slowing down again but I'm doing my best to continue on.
Current favorite player characters?
> Ashton > Orym > Caleb > Fjord, I think. > Dorian (sorta, it's just been a while since we've seen him, is all.) > ...Well, I would count a majority of the Hells. Between the lot of them it shifts around frequently. those three above are the most consistently at the top ones but it's generally almost the whole group. almost. >Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski De Rolo III, even though I still havent finished the briarwood arc. that was from memory I hope I got it right
Current favorite NPCs?
I have got to give top spot to Lord Eshteross in C3. Imahara Joe and Captain Xandis are also high up, I like Milo, and in terms of C2 I like Bryce and, well, who doesn't enjoy Pumat (plural)
Favorite characters to draw or paint?
Ashton, hands down. I mean, FCG is also really fun, and I havent rlly gotten to draw a lot of characters from CR other than Ashton and FCG, but like. come on. How can you not love drawing the nonbinary punk rock. How can you not enjoy painting their colorful gem and crystal hair and golden cracks and funky eyes and- Anyway that's my introduction post! Iâd love to meet some fellow critters - especially newbies that love the bells hells as well, seeing as Iâm a bit anxious in new fandoms and therefore more comfy with people who are also new to everything. Still - feel free to say hi whether new or old fan of cr! :]

Can you tell me more about Jubilee and DeLune? Jubilee is your character, right? They both sound like great characters!
ANON YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE
hooo ok. ok so. ok so listen. listen.
we gotta get something out of the way realquick: whenever i talk about DeLune and Jubileeâor really just DeLuneâi getso incoherent and flail-y i just. i love DeLune so much, sheâs been in mythoughts every day for the past month+ no lie
ok so. @fatalcookiesâ createdDeLune as an npc for a campaign sheâs going to run, in which Iâm going to be aplayer, playing as Jubilee Waters, the gayest tiefling youâll ever meet (as ofyet, there has not been a single game. Iâm obsessing over a character i haventplayed as and her girlfriend. i know. Iâm ridiculous)
..letâs introduce Jubilee, then DeLune, theniâll talk a little about their relationship and maaaaybe go into the auâs Iâvecooked up for them. that sounds good, yeah letâs do that
Jubilee Waters. sheâs from a small mountaincommunity where tieflings are more accepted than in other places. This mountaincommunity is also known for its arts
Jubilee was abandoned on the church ofPelorâs doorstep at birth, and was taken in by one of the people whoworked in the church, a laborer/cook/whatever they needed her to be named MariaWaters.
Jubilee grew up healthy and strong, and wasquick to pick up the ways of both a cleric and an artist; shaping her own hornsinto works of art and also taking up painting as a hobby, all while training tobe a holy warrior who fought in the name of Pelor, god of the sun. She excelledat the healing arts, and it was only because of her desire to help peopleoutweighing her need for glory that she went down the cleric path instead ofthe paladin path. (that and i reallllly wanted to play a cleric, because ihavent yet)
except her mom didnât want her to go out andadventure, because it was too dangerous. That was a point of contention for along time between them. Jubilee wanted to go out and help people, and hermother wanted her home and safe.
Eventually, Jubileeâs mother passed. Jubileestayed, mourned, and before too long had passed, she was out on the road, heading to destinations unknown in a quest with a single goal: help peoplewherever help is needed.Â
Eventually, she meets the group sheâll betraveling with in-game, and she goes on her merry way, eventually meetingDeLune
(Iâve been informed that DeLune probably wonâtshow up until about halfway through the campaign, which on one hand makes me :(but on the other hand has built up the Hype of meeting her so much that i thinkwhen Jennie says âand in walks a half elven businesswomanâ or somethingalong those lines Iâm literally going to burst into tears of joy)
DeLune CandorâŚim trying to decide how much ican talk about.
you know what? i donât think any of the otherplayers follow me, so the chances of them seeing this post are slim to none.Iâm going in guns aâ blazinâ
Her full name, Iâve found out, is Claire DeLuneCandor (which âClaire DeLuneâ means moonlight so theyâve already got thisgreat sun and moon dynamic going on which makes me Weak)
DeLune Candor is a ~55 year old (or theequivalent in half-elven terms) inventor turned businesswoman who is currentlythe head of a large family business that specializes in trading. The businessis booming, and itâs exclusively due to DeLune being at the head of thebusiness. She tries her best to run an ethical business, sheâs a pointy-earedcapitalist, and i love her with my whole heart oh my god
Sheâs a workaholic, she is Fancy to the extremeand has quite the refined taste. She doesnât like mincing words, sheâsvery direct and to the point, and sheâsâŚi was going to say sheâs perfectbut sheâs not, she has flaws, but sheâs so My Type that it hurts me and as suchi tend to gloss over her flaws.  I love her with my entire heart, flawsand all tho?? I say i would die for a lot of characters but i would live forDeLune.
OH HOW COULD I FORGET!!!!the song that inspired this character is this song and the woman singing? Shirley Bassey?? is the voice andface claim for DeLune so you Know Iâm all about this song, iâve probablylistened to it a hundred times. i love that song
DeLuneâŚ..DeLune actually has a daughter namedCeleste who is around Jubileeâs age which makes things sorta awkward sometimesbut shh shh its perfectly fine shh it can be funny sometimes, ill get into that in a minute
sheâs a huge lover of the arts and thesciences, having been an inventor at one point. the love of the arts manifestsitself in her giving patronage to many different artists and commissioningworks and stuff like that Its Good
hrrmm what else is there about DeLune that ican rant about. god i just. ok i just love her. i love her so much?? and shehurts me sometimes for reasons Iâm not sure i can disclose at this point. to besafe Iâm not going to go too much into it butâŚshe gave up a lot for thefamily business. and i just want her to be happy and relaxed and without toomuch stress
Their relationshipâŚhoogh
ok so they meet, right. and DeLune isimmediately interested in Jubileeâs horns, because theyâre works of art andsheâs intrigued with how they came to be. And when Jubilee tells her that sheâsbeen working on her horns since she was ten, and that they still require upkeepand managementâŚ.DeLune has this âholy shitâ moment. bc?? here let mefind a direct quote:
ââthese are the work of a literallifetime and peoplesâ /lives/ are the work of a lifetime and they canâtmaintain as much focus as this 90% of the time.â
so yes, DeLune takes notice in Jubilee becauseof her horns. And Jubilee like. she saw DeLune and she just got this momentof âholy moly Iâm so gayâ so like?? They both were somewhat interestedfrom the start, and it just evolved from there.
i imagine Jubilee tried to beat around the bushand be subtle about trying to get DeLune to date her but DeLune saw rightthrough it and was just like ââŚdo you want to date me? is that whatyouâre getting at?â and jubilee was like âyes. yes yes yes please godyes"
and so?? they date??
and things go well!! they click reallynaturally and they enjoy each otherâs company. They go to a variety offancy places and Jubilee is terrified each time because she doesnât want to sayor do the wrong thing and end up embarrassing DeLune, but DeLune teaches herthe basics of fancy etiquette and that puts her at ease
âŚjennie and i have had a conversation abouthow DeLune just completely roasts someone who dared to make a comment aboutJubilee being a tiefling and honestly i saved that whole conversation and iread it when i get sad bc DeLune utterly destroying someone is just So Good
They have their arguments and theirdisagreements because Something (I donât know what it is)Â happens around thesame time they meet each other that puts DeLune on edge and so thereâsdefinitely conflict regarding this thing. I donât know what it is but I know inmy soul that its going to hurt me whenever i find out
Hrmmm what else is there. I mean. they fuck. alot. like a lot a lot. god i love them. i just. god i love them.
and this is a thing that makes Celeste and Jubileeâs relationship kind of tense like?? Celeste doesnât blame Jubilee for getting involved with DeLune, but she DOES blame DeLune for getting involved with Jubilee. and so
ok weâve had this scene thought out where Celeste comes into the kitchen one morning to see Jubilee dressed in just a silk robe, hair a mess and out of itâs usual braid, leaning against the counter and drinking coffee. and they make eye contact and then thatâs how Celeste gets confirmation that yes, her friend is banging her mom and Iâm just over here like god fucking bless.Â
honestly Iâve saved that conversation too and it makes me giggle because Jubilee just. she sees celeste and sheâs like âhi!! good morning!! do you want some coffee??â and celeste is just. no nonsense like. âJubilee. were you sleeping with someone tonight?â and jubilee makes this face and it cracks me up every time.Â
and jubilee just makes the smallest âyeahâ ever and celeste just. âand it was my mother, wasnât it.â not even a question. she knows. but jubilee answers anyway, with another tiny ââŚyeah.â and then she just âplease donât be cross with herâ
and then celeste breaks out the whiskey despite it being like. you know. breakfast. and god i love this family theyre so dysfunctional but god i love them
what else is there. they may or may not go to a small house in the countryside after everything is said and done, somewhere DeLune can make things and somewhere Jubilee can have a quiet life again. just the two of them, after DeLune gives up the reigns on the family business and god i love them. if thereâs anything about them that has almost made me cry itâs this idea of them living a quiet life together, somewhere with a small workshop for DeLune and space for Jubilee and her god.
like. jennie killed me with this line:
a small little workshop, pen and paper, and a lover in her bed
âŚbeautiful things they made together
artisan rugs are left back at a different home that she visits, sometimes, when she needs toâand besides itâs not half so beautiful as thesmile on Jubileeâs face when DeLune hand-feeds her a grape and catches atrickle of juice from the corner of her mouth with her thumb
AND OH!!!! THE PAINTING!!!!
ok so you know how jubilee paints?? she did a portrait of DeLune that she purposely left unfinished to represent that all things are a work in progress and GOD can you tell how much i love them yet theyâre so good
but god, all i want is for them to be happy together. thatâs all i want. i love them so much it hurts me
ok letâs get into those AUs
ok so. the aus. i made a list here of those aus but on one of them weâve gotten real deep man
ok so. we havent gotten too deep into vampire/vampire hunter au but?? thereâs some choice symbolism
i initially thought of DeLune as the vampire and Jubilee as theperson sent to kill her but they fall in love and run away together. the symbolism would be pretty choice here, DeLune representing the night (as her name means moonlight) and Jubilee with her divine connection to the sun, right
but Iâvethought about it some more and the other way is also pretty choice like.
Jubilee as a prominent religious figure who had a fall from grace when shewas turned into a vampire. she fled, disgraced and outcast by the religion she had known for her whole life. and DeLune is theperson sent to hunt her down because in this au sheâs probably like a goodwizard or something who knows. and so she finds this vampire and DeLune isgoing to bring her back alive, but they fall in love and run away together. but the SYMBOLISM
âŚ.Jubileeâs still a cleric of pelor, right. but now the sun burnsher and she canât find solace in her god. but you know what light doesnât hurt vampires?
MOONLIGHT
DeLune, symbolically the moon, giving her light and hope in a way thatdoesnât hurt her. god i love the symbolism with these two its Good
and. then. the au we got deep in right.
crime boss au
an au where Jubilee is the new cop investigating this mob family, and falls in love with DeLune in the process.
one problem.
DeLune, unbeknownst to Jubilee, is the mob boss. sheâs the leader of this crime family. sheâs the head of the syndicate, and she knows that Jubilee is investigating her.
She, to her credit, tries to dissuade jubilee, tries to turn her away from her path because she knows that whatever happens, the outcome will hurt her. but Jubilee is bound and determined to make a difference, and she doesnât heed DeLuneâs advice
and Celeste shows up?? and she wants to tear this business apart to get her mom out, and her and jubilee team up because even tho jubilee doesnât know that DeLune is the head of the mob or that Celeste is DeLuneâs daughter, they have similar goals
and how does celeste find her, you ask? well. Jubilee lives in kind of a rough neighborhood, and has had her fair share of shitty things thrown at her, right. after Jubilee and DeLune started dating, all that stops.
so celeste tracks where things arenât happening to determine where her mother has influence, and finds out that this cop is a link.
and then one day theyâre working on something and Jubilee just like. stands up and starts getting ready and sheâs apologizing and saying sheâs late, and Celeste is like â?? late to what??â and Jubilee replies âI have a date with my girlfriend DeLuneâ
âŚand thatâs how Celeste finds out just how Jubilee is linked to her mother. and god its so good bc sheâs just. shocked. like. no. no this. what.Â
and so eventually, in this au, Jubilee goes into somewhere undercover to try and find out more about the mob, and gets caught. sheâs cornered, on the ground, surrounded by people with guns, and then thereâs the clicking of heels on linoleum and thereâs DeLune. and all these people who were being threatening just stop
and DeLune kind of helps her up, dusts her off, and leads her out, all in silence, with only a biting retort to one of the henchmen who protests about Jubilee knowing too much.Â
and then. hoo this kills me. when theyre out of there and in the car, DeLune just says kind of quietly âIdid ask you not to dig too deep, darling.â
hooo boy that hurts me
so then DeLune takes jubilee back to her house and celeste is there so thereâs a mother daughter reunion, and they go inside and jubilee almost just completely fucking loses it and sheâs like âyou know? if you were just a part of the syndicate i think i couldâvedealt with that. but the boss?!â and then she gets real quiet for a moment and just. âhow much of it was real? how much of it was you trying toget another cop in your pocket?â
and so celeste just nopes out of there and DeLune and jubilee have a long conversation where Jubilee is passive aggressive and petty to the extreme.Â
like DeLune basically tells her itâs easier to deal with when Jubileeâs angry in response to Jubilee losing some of her anger and getting kind of soft over the course of the conversation. so Jubileeâs like. âshe wants me to be angry? fine. i can do thatâ
so she kicks her out of her house
and then soon after that she goes and she takes all of her things out of DeLuneâs house. and DeLune has this heartbreaking line of âIf you wish very much to be so utterly removedfrom me, only say the word. I will make certain you never see me again.â
and jubilee doesnât respond. she just leaves. because she knows in her heart she wants to mend things, but at the moment she needs to process everything thatâs happening. she isnât processing it well bc she doesnât deal with negative emotions well but sheâs trying bless her
and so Celeste and DeLune and Jubilee tear down this mafia right, and then. god i love them. so DeLune and Jubilee agree to give it another shot after another long conversation, and that theyâll meet for lunch sometime and see where it goes
and. like in canon DeLune and Celesteâs relationship is strained at best, and so this au reflects that. but in this au i get confirmation that they definitely 100% make up and that gives me Life
so yes, thatâs DeLune and Jubilee. god i love them. thank you so much for asking about them, you have no idea how hard i was laughing when i got this message bc i was like âI ACTUALLY TRICKED SOMEONE INTO CARING ABOUT THESE TWO OH MY GODâ and honestly? writing this up was a delight, thank you again for asking this anon!!!

Almost 60% of marketers havenât implemented AMP, see why (and why itâs no excuse)
When it comes to page speed, a few seconds of slowdown can cost you. Slow load times cripple conversion rates, raise the price you pay for ad impressions, and even drive qualified traffic to your competitors.
All this being true, Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) would seem like the hail mary pass that marketers have been waiting for. Essentially, AMP is a Google-backed framework for creating web pages that deliver near-instant load times, even on mobile. I say ânear-instantâ here, but I like how the AMP Project itself puts it: AMP pages are âso fast they appear to load instantly.â
What does AMP mean for marketers? Faster delivery of your content, for one thing. The end of waiting altogether, maybe. Ultimately, AMP can result in a significant uptick in traffic and improved conversion rates overall.
So, naturally, every marketer is planning to adopt it in 2019, right? Right!?
*record scratch*
Marketers have been slow to adopt AMP for a variety of reasons (via Unbounceâs 2019 Page Speed Report).
Wait, wait, I can explain. As part of our 2019 Page Speed Report, we asked marketers if they planned to implement AMP in the near future. 57% of them told us they have no plans to implement it, while 23% are still considering it.
Those who havenât adopted the framework have a range of reasons why, but they fall into three broad categories:
AMP requires a significant investment of developer resources.
AMP is poorly understood (or perhaps poorly messaged).
Googleâs past behavior has made some people wary of AMP.
Iâll explore these reasons in further detail below. For now, itâs worth saying that each has some validity. But I donât think any of themâalone or togetherâshould be your excuse not to implement AMP for your marketing campaigns.
In the long run, businesses who overcome these objections will be better positioned than those who donât, despite perceived drawbacks. As I wrote elsewhere, âTurbo-charged landing pages result in more traffic and higher engagement, boosting conversions and helping PPC campaigns win increased ad impressions for less.â The AMP framework helps you achieve this kind of performance, even on a smartphone.
Want more insights about page speed? You can explore all the findings in the complete 2019 Page Speed Report for Marketers here. Access is free and ungated, so take a look.
Reason 1: Limited development resources
A significant hurdle that marketers face when it comes to adding AMP to their site has to do with technical resourcing. Four of the answers to our survey question touched on this problem:
Developers are not experienced with coding for AMP (12% of respondents)
No developer capacity to implement it (32% of respondents)
Too time-consuming to implement it (12% of respondents)
Validation issues with AMP pages we did create (2% of respondents)
Itâs no secret that AMP comes with a steep-ish learning curve.
By using a restricted version of HTML and a custom JavaScript library, the framework ensures an optimized (read: fast-loading!) experience. Using Googleâs AMP Cache (a content delivery network that stores your page on Googleâs servers) further accelerates your pages.
But it also requires your developers to dedicate time to learning and mastering AMP-HTML and the AMP JavaScript library. And since Googleâs AMP Cache requires validation once youâve built an AMP page, thereâs really no âgood enoughâ moment here. Either your page works and goes live, or it doesnât and you need to find your error. Who feels motivated to learn under those conditions?
AMP validation in actionâor should I write, âinactionâ? (via The AMP Project).
By its very nature, the limitations of AMP also demand a certain, letâs say, technical dexterity. Because bloated scripts tend to be a major contributor to slowdown, AMPâs JavaScript library puts the brakes on the third-party scripting that people have gotten used to using. (And AMP HTML comes with its own quirks.) Working within these constraints can often produce innovation, but itâs also a source of frustration for many who just wanna get stuff done.
Finally, poor analytics has been significant speed bumps on the road to AMP adoption. Tracking and analyzing visitor behavior is an integral part of running an online marketing campaign, but early in its life, AMP asked us to go blind. No thank you.
Why time and dev work are no excuseâŚ
First, letâs be real: the AMP framework is a set of restrictions. Thatâs the point. So wishing for an AMP without any limitations at all doesnât make sense.
In addition, many of the difficulties that plagued developers in the early years of AMP are no longer an issue. Tracking, for instance, has improved dramatically since AMP launched in 2015. Today, by using the AMP Analytics tag, you can isolate and analyze AMP traffic in Google Analytics. Though it canât yet do everything that standard tracking can, it will collect data about users, pages, browsing, and (most significantly) events. As Search Engine Journal points out, âfor most content marketers, thatâs sufficient.â Not a ringing endorsement, sure, but tracking is now good enough for most marketing purposes.
As AMP development has continued, scripting has also become more robust, and the options available have expanded. Unfortunately, many people rely on scripts from third parties for tracking and integrations, but a lot of companies have been slow to deliver AMP-compatible versions. As adoption has increased, however, so too has the pressure on these companies to deliver.
That said, some of what AMP asks us to leave behind is also inessential. Pages clogged by unoptimized script may soon be looked upon we look at the tailfins on the back of a 50âs Cadillac. (Or, hey, remember the heady days when every site seemed to require Macromedia Flash? When it comes to the web, more isnât always better.)
Reason 2: Some marketers really donât get this whole AMP thing
Despite having a mouth to Googleâs megaphone, the AMP Project has struggled to be heard beyond web development or publishing circles. When we asked marketers in The Page Speed Report, we discovered the following:
Thereâs a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to AMP (via Unbounceâs 2019 Page Speed Report).
While 54% of the digital marketers said they have some understanding of AMP, the rest assuredly did not. A quarter of âem hadnât even heard of Accelerated Mobile Pages before taking our survey.
Why misunderstanding is no excuseâŚ
First, AMP is hardly floundering, despite the fact that you may not have heard about it. It has the combined might of Google, Pinterest, Twitter, WordPress, and Bing backing it. And AMP already covers more than 31 million domains serving billions of AMP pages. If you browse the web on your smartphone, in other words, chances are very strong youâve visited an AMP page.
AMP pages appear in the search results with a lightning bolt icon.
Second, if you hadnât heard of AMP until you read this article, no worriesâbecause now you have. That gives you an advantage over the 24% of marketers whoâre still in the dark. Itâs always best to think competitively about page speed. Knowing about AMP (and implementing it) can put you out in front of your competitors by dramatically improving your load times.
EDITORâS NOTE. Thereâs a lot of misinformation or misunderstanding out there about AMP. You can read more about AMP and its myths in this blog post from Unbounceâs Larissa Hildebrandt.
Reason 3: Google is âevilâ now
Even before they stripped the âdonât be evilâ clause from their official code of conduct last year, Google earned a reputation for shady doings.
With the launch of the AMP Project in October of 2015, though, they stirred up a controversy that they didnât seem to anticipate. Critics were quick to argue that AMP represents yet another move to lock down the web, gallingly disguised as an open-source project.
Many of these accusations point to the Google AMP Cache, which speeds up delivery of content by storing your pages on Googleâs servers. AMP doesnât actually require using Googleâs cacheâpeople can create their ownâbut this tends to be how itâs done. In most cases, the content lives with Google, and a searcher may never touch your actual website. As Daniel Miessler puts it, this is potentially âpoisonous to the underlying concept of an open internet.â
Why itâs no excuseâŚ
The language of dissent can get a little, uh, heated (see Barry Adamâs colorful âGoogle AMP Can Go To Hellâ) but a free and open internet is a public good we should be all getting behind. Keeping Google from controlling the entire universe is a definite good for free speech and democracy. (And itâs better for business too.)
But so is delivering fast speeds so that more people can access the web. And AMP helps with that, big time. Remember, the loss of net neutrality means providers can potentially throttle speeds, offering âslowâ and âfastâ lanes depending on what customers can afford. And 70% of connections globally will remain 3G or slower through 2020 regardless. For these reasons, AMP seems downright necessary, and thatâs why news organizationsâlike The Guardian and The New York Timesâwere among the first to adopt it.
For what itâs worth, Google has pled innocent in the court of public opinion. In September they took steps to distance themselves from the AMP Project by adopting a new governance model that includes other companies. What this means is thatâthough Googlers conceived and shepherded AMPâits future is now squarely in the hands of a group that may not always act in the tech giantâs interests. Thatâs a very good thing.
Why marketers should implement AMP
Itâs well-known that delays can create anticipation. But make no mistake, your sluggish website in no way resembles the slow, sultry, seductive pour of Heinz ketchup onto a plate of golden french fries. In fact, the experience has more in common with waiting for your number to be called at the DMV.
By making prospects sit through delays, youâre serving up a heaping helping of frustration, annoyance, and uncertainty. All before they ever even see your contentâŚ
âŚor, rather, if they ever see your content. Because many of âem wonât make it that far. In Unbounceâs 2019 Page Speed Report for Marketers, a majority of consumers told us that theyâll wait 4-6 seconds before giving up on a slow page.
A majority of consumers say theyâll wait 4-6 seconds before clicking away (via Unbounceâs 2019 Page Speed Report).
Data gathered by Google says the actual number is closer to 3 seconds. After that, many consumers told us they close their browser or even go to a competitorâs site instead. 45% of them told us that a slow loading site makes them less likely to make a purchase. If you want to get fastâlike, really, really fastâAMP can get you there.
Unbounce + AMP
Itâs no secret weâre bullish on AMP at Unbounce. Thatâs because Accelerated Mobile Pages have many tangible benefits as a quick way to create a near-instant visitor experience. Not only can they have a dramatic effect on your conversion rates, but they can also increase organic traffic overall and improve Quality Scores in Google Ads.
We were surprised to learn in the Page Speed Report how many marketers are avoiding AMP due to difficulty with developer resources. So, as part of our initiatives to improve page speeds, weâve sought to make AMP friendlier to the non-developer, reducing or eliminating frustration. You can now drag and drop together AMP experiences, and weâre walking you through what AMP is, why you need it, and how to implement it.
So whatâs the ultimate reason you no longer have an excuse for not implementing AMP?
Because weâre making it much easier.
In the coming weeks, weâll be making AMP landing pages available to all Unbounce customers. Using them can still mean choosing efficiency over flashy scripts, but weâve already seen our beta test community finding new ways to balance beauty and speed. Weâre excited to hear how AMP landing pages impact your conversion rates when they hit. And Iâm excited to start sharing some success stories (and actionable takeaways) with readers of this blog.

Rites of Passage
Here are Anna Janes and Tobisâ Rites of Passages!
Anna:Â Cullan! Aka Mercury! Man you were a trip, ok I just opened our messages because a lot has happened this game and Iâm having a hard time remembering everything. AH, so I really liked Goodman and you wanted him out over Jayden and I hadnât talked to Jayden a lot so I wasnât down for it. Then I think you went for Mitch who was my ride or die and I wasnât gonna have that. Then there was controversy of âwho said Goodmans name!â but regardless, I think if you got further you would have been sooooo entertaining! I wish you nothing but the best and hope you continue to play orgs!
Tobi:Â Different tribes and we never talked but sorry for your early boot
Anna:Â Hi! I didnât get to meet you this game :(Â
Tobi:Â Hihi so actually louise and I both knew you were leaving no matter what and we just voted with you so that our relationship in BAR wasnât affected and it didnât really matter in the end bc I flipped anyway LOL
Anna:Â Hi! I didnât get to meet you this game :( JK but wow were you inactive lol, i mean you were in like 5 games and Iâm sure Seamus forced you to play/wouldnât let you withdraw your app so thats probably why LMAO uhh yeah iâm glad you were inactive because you scare me and i think we totally would have butt heads. Your vote out was pretty simple because tobi had got screwed over by his OG tribe and was looking to come over to my side, and you werenât there so it was really easy. Youâre an icon and iâm sure if you were active you would have easily made merge
Tobi:Â Hey sistur yes I did throw you under the bus and I apologize because it was either you or me and I didnât want to leave so ya hope ur doing okay tho <3 icon
Anna: oh goodman, how i adored you. It was so obvious this was your first game and i really wanted to just tuck you under my wing and bring you to the end with me LOL but i think you had a hard time keeping secretsâŚ. Like you told Frankie about the plan to blindside him and leave him out of the 2 tribal fiasco and i was like GOODMAN WTPPP but you were so sweet and genuine with me. I think once you get a hand on these orgs youâll totally be able to rock them out!Â
Tobi:Â Different tribes and we never talked but sorry for your early boot
Anna:Â a LEGENDARY MESS wow, so like i don't know where to start, it was so funny because we hadnât even had a conversation yet and you created an alliance with me nicole and mitch. I would like to THANK YOU for starting that alliance because with that, came the me/mitch and nicole alliance that lasted LITERALLY all the way to like f7. But the way you talked to me in the alliances was just very demanding and made me feel icky. I don't rly love being told what to do and in these games i will pretend like iâm following the orders of the people who are doing the demanding just to like boost their ego but in reality im just gonna do my own thing and do whats best for me. The minute u were like really demanding towards me was when i was like ok yeah this isnt gonna work. I like alliances to be a team effort and everyone can speak their mind and do what they want and idkkk it just wasnât that in ours which is why i flipped on you. Youâre truly an icon though!!
Tobi:Â Okay like noah fence but like you didnât save me during that f14 tribal I saved myself by my own efforts and u kinda just tried to use that as leverage LMAO but I appreciate ur somewhat help <3
Anna:Â Jayden! So you were an easy vote out at this point because it was 3-3 i believe, so it was me u and nicole. Zach was very controlling and i was doing the thing where i like pretend to listen to demands. I knew you were an easy vote out and you leaving wouldnât impact my game later on so i allowed zach to pick you off. I knew that voting with zach would give me some trust with him so i figured why not, IM SORRY LOL but ya that's why i let you go. Youâre a super cool guy and i had a lot of fun during the endurance challenge
Tobi:Â We didnât get to talk much but you seemed really sweet and like I hope youâre doing good!!
Anna:Â oh BOY. first of all you were ROBBED of jury and that is terrible, the hosts should be shunned for that because that was gross. But zach, i enjoyed every conversation we had and you are SO charming. Unfortunately i could see right through it all because i've played too many of these games. Iâve also played with ppl like you so i know how you function LOL omg that sounds mean but like, you were playing like someone who needed control and needed people in his pockets and the way you did that was charming them and being very on top of it all. Does that make sense? The minute we had one world and i could talk to agus he said âzach is controlling my tribe, he has dylan/bo and jones in his pocketâ i was like okay i understand. I had to allow myself to seem like someone who was less than you so that you didnât see me as like a bigger threat than you. So i did that, i voted jayden out. I pretended to give you idol guesses etc. i couldnât give you all of my trust because i knew that we could NEVER work out together. You were the leader of your tribe and i could be seen as the leader of mine. So if we had gotten any further together, it would have been an all out WAR like could you imagine??? AND i had an idol and SO DID YOU like we were going to go head to head at some point. So when the move presented itself i knew i had to take it so that i could gain the trust of the people that were in your pocket and remove a huge threat to my game. You leaving was so beneficial to me omg, i got jones as an ally from it! But anyway, my gosh are you a great player and i don't think i got to ask about your org history but there is NO way you havent won a game before. You are strong and well spoken and again SO CHARMING like well done, iâm sorry i had to blindside u lol but jones told me about your idol and she told me that you were catching on to me and like wanting nicole out so i was like it is time!! I hope ur doing well and i wish 1 day i could be as cool as u tbh
Tobi: Oh Zach, sorry for playing you as hard as I did but I was planning it ever since you and dylan lied to me at the double tribal thing and I reveled in getting revenge hehe⌠ I flipped wayyyy back at f14 and started to plan to take you and dylan out ever since then and it worked hehe but youâre definitely a cool guy and we had some awesome convos it was just a shame that the double tribal went the way it did but alas it was fun!
Anna:Â :( i donât know what to say. I was very transparent and honest about your vote out because you are such an awesome person and i value you very much. I do think if you werenât taken out at this point, it would have been bad for me. I think u had allies in places i didnât even know about and you are very strategic and just a smart person. Im gonna be honest though and say the main like nail in your coffin was the way jones was pushing me off of you, so in these games its important to separate relationships and like not be obvious about who you DONâT want out. Which is why i dont think many people knew mitch was my ride or die. Maybe because no one really wanted him out so i didnt have the opportunity to campaign for him? But the way jones was campaigning for you to stay was very very intense and made it very obvious that if you had stayed, i would be second in jonesâ mind. So voting you out allowed me to become super close to jones and allow her to rely on me more than she would have if you had stayed. I guess you could credit jones for your vote out LMAO because like at first i was fine with going for bo over you because we are friends and i adored you but then jones was like crying and freaking out over you leaving so i was like yaaaaaaaaa sorry friend
Tobi: Ok hi so like we had like one conversation the entire season and you didnât bother to message me back so thatâs on you⌠ Anyway like if you read zachâs rop youâd know the reason that I flipped was because both of you lied and expected me to be okay with it (which i obviously wasnât then yall got merge boots lmao) and on TOP of that you throw me under the bus to louise who was the only person i could have a sense of trust with at the f14 tribal⌠like you reap what you sow sis idk what else to say bc that combination of actions really set me on a mission to take you and zach out xo
Anna:Â BO!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW you were honestly one of my favorite people in this game because you were so entertaining holy shit like the definition of a messy player, if they have a messy player season than wow are you ON IT. so your vote out was really funny because i was moving into my apartment so i was NOT online. I actually thought there was a chance that i could get voted out at that point. So the whole time i was like yes we can go for david its fine lets do it no problem. I had the votes and it was going to work out but THAN YOU OPENED YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You literally went and told david that i was gonna vote him YOU SENT A QUOTE! So then ofc i flipped the switch back onto you and it was no problem but oh my gosh if you had just not gone and told david the plan you wouldnât have gone home! That move 100% was the reason you received my vote, i hope u play more games because youâre such a character and i had a lot of fun playing with you even though you made me want to rip my hair out at some points
Tobi: Youâre a sweet kid and you did good for your first org but you also shot yourself in the foot at your vote out⌠like literally you werenât the one who was supposed to go⌠david was but you HAD to tell david about it which made zero sense considering that vote was between you and david lol⌠but i dont really hold it against you since im sure you were trying your best hehe!! Hope youâre doing good and you play in more orgs!
Anna:Â i would like to thank u for ruining my potential perfect game (im writing this before FIC so hence potential) r u d e. BUT my love for you extends so far it could reach where you live and come back to where i live and go back and forth 20834324320842 times. You have been a close friend of mine since JPORG but unfortunately this game we just werenât on the same side of the tracks. And unfortunately, my side had more people lol but yeah your vote out was simple. We went into that challenge knowing that if you lost, you would go home. If you had won, david would go home. I was lowkey really nervous when you started to like pitch against me lol but i really knew that 1 of the people on my side would tell me so i could idol so i wasnât like waste my idol nervous if you know what i mean. But i adore you, youâre a scary player and the minute i saw your name on the cast reveal i thought âoh noâ because you play like i do, you arenât afraid to be the big dog and you arenât afraid to make the moves you need to make when you need to make them. I could sing your praises for days Agustin and you know that.
Tobi:Â Yoo like i liked talking to you and all and we were on the same page for a lot of the season BUT in my plans to get revenge on zach and dylan i aligned with a group that sadly didnât include you in it but yeah it was really fun playing with you and omg i LOVED when you called me out in tribal like that was so fun and i really enjoyed it!!
Anna: david, david, david. Your vote out was the craziest and most intense tribal of the game for me. It opened my eyes to so much and allowed me to really dig deep and see what i had to do to get further. So we connected since the beginning and i made sure to watch out for you BUT i saw you as a threat. I saw you as someone who could beat me at challenges and i knew from the beginning of merge that i had to pick off the people that could stop me from winning mandatory immunities. So with that in my head AND the thought that you would be the first to flip on me in the u/me/mitch/tobi/nicole alliance, i knew that you had to go sooner than later. So you found out about nicoles idol and jones and tobi both told me. And then you WOULDNâT tell me who told you about the idol so i went to mitch and was like âhey david told me you told him about my and nicoles idolâ even though you didnât just so i could bait him. It worked, he admitted it. THAT MOMENT WAS CRUCIAL TO EVERYTHING OH MY GOD but yeah i knew that tobi and jones were with me and tobi did NOT benefit at all by voting out nicole. Thats what i dont think a lot of people understood, yaâll kept trying to pick nicole off to get at me but tobiâs only win con was sitting next to nicoleâŚâŚ. So thats how i knew he wasnât going to do that all the times yaâll tried it. But yeah, i told you i was voting you out and you know i adore you as a person. I think youâre a bomb ass player and you def gave me a run for my money lol
Tobi:Â Hey bud so like i know i played you and mitch pretty hard at your vote out and like it was absolutely nothing personal but it was kinda obvious that you and mitch were closer to together than you were to me so like working with you two wasnt super optimal for me and like taking you out helped me achieve a few things like taking out a challenge threat and it threw mitch under the bus which let me last another 2 rounds so like ya that was my thought process behind it and I hope youâre doing wellÂ
Anna:Â mitch. My GOD did you play me good. You were in my DMs saying how you want me to win and you are so dyingly loyal and blah blah AND THEN YOU FLIPPED ON ME BUT NOT ONLY DID YOU FLIP ON ME BUT YOU FLIPPED ON MY TOOOOOO EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh,Â
i think of all the ppl that were like GET ANNA OUT GET ANNA OUT u were the person who i think could do it. But regardless, you were my person in this game. Like yes nicole was too but nicole wasnât online enough to rly RLY be my person that i strategize with and talk to all the time. Like i told you all of my plans and we made moves together. I would NEVER say you were in my pocket and i can honestly say sitting at f3 that i donât think you were. We were a team and we made moves together. We made plans together, we got the idols together. You and me did this together and i will never take that for granted. I had SO MUCH FUN playing with you mitch and becoming FRIENDS with you and really getting to know you. Our friendship is something i will take away from this game and i am so happy about that. Youâre a bad ass mitch, thank you for playing this game by my side
Tobi:Â Lord like honestly our relationship is so rocky KJHLKJ like im gonna be real and say like I lied maybe a lil too much BUT it was for strategic reasons and letting david go and letting you take the hit for it really let me get through a few rounds with one move and like I also apologize about your own vote out like okay honestly i was already pretty leaning towards voting you out already but then when aj told me you wanted to vote me out (a plan which neither you or jones told me about) really sealed the deal and like i also was in a peculiar situation because nicole is the only person I have a real chance of beating in that f5 so it would've been really dumb for me to vote her out so yeah okay like i always feel like i wanna work with you but our plans never seem to work with each other KJHLKJ but i definitely hope we can work together if we meet each other again!!
Anna: jones, im getting exhausted writing all these but i really want to like be genuine and honest in all of them so here we go, I adore u wow, u are such an honest genuine soul that i know is seriously going to do amazing things in orgs and just life in general. Like i told you, you remind me of myself when i first started playing (which is a good and a bad thing LOL) but you are intense, you are confident in your game, and you are powerful. You should be proud of the way you played and excited for the games you play in the future. Your vote out was actually wild because at no point at all was i ever considering voting tobi out. So you were FLOODING me with messages, emotional intense messages that made me want to rip my hair out. Because you were telling me you werenât gonna vote tobi, and then you were, and then you werenât again and i was so confused because your ONLY argument with me was voting tobi out because i told you i was never ever going to vote nicole. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE WANTED TO VOTE OUT NICOLE FOR SO MANY REASONS. But thats neither here nor there lol but yeah you were very aggressive and i was sooo taken back by it. It pretty much solidified my vote for you because tobi wasnât begging for his life lol which like shows me that YOU were going to fuckin woop my ass at FIC and give the same amount of effort that im about to give to it, like girl you did the logic puzzle for 3 HOURS!!! you just dont give up. You would have fought tooth and nail to wipe the floor with me at that FIC and you cant deny that! But yeah, the begging and the emotional messages def helped ensure me voting for you. AND THEN FUCKIN NICOLE WASNT ONLINE. So this is actually wild what i did here and im sorry in advance but she wasnât on and i knew me and tobi were voting you so i went to you and was like yoâŚ. Tobi doesnât have any votes against him you should make him join the votes club OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND YOU SAID YES SO MY LITTLE DEVIL BRAIN WAS LIKE YES BITCH 2-1-1, if you voted nicole it would have been fire making and nicole would have possibly lost. It was genius, it was cruel and i am sorry but i had to do itâŚâŚâŚ tobi knew too!!!! Ok im tired this was dumb i hate ROP, i adore you, youâre gonna kill muxloe but my one little snippet of advice is to NOT invest yourself into these games in an unhealthy way. I know this from experience because when i first got 4th my first game i SOBBED, the second time i got 4th I SOBBED the first time i got 2nd I SOBBED the second time i got 2nd I SOBBED and like when i say sobbed i mean it tore me up and i was mad and sad and just hurt emotionally so i GET IT. i get it, but its not good for your health!!!! Like once i learned to stop playing like that it helped me soooo much (it took me literally until this game sooooooooooooooooooooo im trash but still) I LOVE U JONESY GUACEY POOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Tobi: Ahhh jones you were honestly a joy to talk to and like I really enjoyed working with you!! Especially on that vote where we successfully flushed nicoleâs idol which was honestly like 200iq stuff KLJHKJ and I feel like I came into f5/f4 being like the second least likely person to win with you and AJ being the most likely to win so at f4 the pressure was really on me because it was a choice of definitely making final tribal council but probably losing or having to work so much harder to make final tribal council but also having a real chance to win⌠and in the end i did what was best for my  game and iâm glad you understood that⌠but highkey i felt so bad that you voted for me bc if you voted for nicole you legit wouldâve put firemaking into play KJHSDF but anyways it was really nice getting to meet you and know you hehe
Anna:Â I love u with my whole heart and I hope ur okay, I had to write this very fast so I canât write it how I want to but just know Iâm so appreciative of you and am glad I got to know you through this game
Tobi:Â hihi so like i really do appreciate everything we've done here together and like i really enjoyed our talks and stuff but you just went inactive (for personal reasons which i understand) but like you getting removed at f3 completely fucked over my game LKJHDSLFKJHA but like all that's really important is that you take care of your own stuff okay hehe luv u beecole <#

The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.s base in Birmingham, Alabama. A bus station where segregationists attacked Freedom Riders. These civil rights sites of the 1960s, etched in black-and-white images in our memories, are naturals for selection as national monuments. Less obvious, but perhaps more powerful in our nations history, is President Barack Obamas designation of Beaufort, South Carolina, a cradle of Reconstruction.
AmidObamas last-minute flurry of executive orders and regulatory actions pardons, commutations, Arctic drilling bans Thursdays dedication of the Beaufort monument seemed to fall in the shadow of the other two dedicated that day: the motel that served as Kings headquarters in the final push for the Voting Rights Act and the Anniston, Alabama, Greyhound station where a bus was firebombed in 1961.
The monument in Beaufort commemorates a segment of the civil rights struggle that is far less prominent in American history.
Beauforts Reconstruction Era National Monument will commemorate this lesser-known period (about 1865 to 1877) following the Civil War. For instance, how many Americans know the name of Hiram Revels of Mississippi, the countrys first black senator? At a time when the black population of the American South was still struggling to come to terms with life in the post-emancipation era, Revels belonged to the wave of black men who sought and won office across the region. They won seats in the Senate, in the House of Representatives, in state legislatures, and in hundreds of local and municipal posts across the South.
(Reconstruction is the subject of a new Huffington Post podcast, produced with rapper Killer Mike, that will launch in the next few weeks. Sign up here to get an email when it drops.)
So why doesnt Reconstruction get much attention? If you take as your starting premise that mainstream history remains largely written by white Americans, that question isnt so hard to answer. There are few white heroes in this story (no Lyndon Johnsons), and there is no happy ending, no great civil rights legislation (not that survived, at least). The countrys (and arguably the worlds) first experiment in genuinely interracial democracy was strangled in its cradle or, given the decade-plus it survived, its childhood destroyed by a combination of political sabotage and terrorism. In the 1860s and 70s, groups like the Ku Klux Klan, the White Leagues, and the Redshirts arose and conducted campaigns of violence aimed at intimidating Republican politicians in the South, especially their attempts to build black political power.
You were taking your life in your hands by becoming a black political figure, says Columbia University history professor Eric Foner. This group of black political leaders suffered more violence, whether its murder, or arson of their homes or whippings, than any group of political leaders I can think of in American history. Whatever the acrimony of politics right now, you dont have armed men going after members of the legislature and whipping them or shooting them. Were not quite at that level yet. But they were in Reconstruction.
By the end of the 19th century, white dominance in the South (or home rule, as it was euphemistically called) had been restored. Jim Crow was the law of the land, and the country would not see large-scale black electoral participation until the civil rights movement of the mid-20th century. In many ways, the drought in black political power lasted even longer than that: When Tim Scott was elected in South Carolina in 2014, it was the first time Southern voters had sent an African-American to the Senate since 1881. (Senators in the 19th century were actually elected by state legislatures, not directly by voters, but you get the point.)
In recent months, Beaufort has mounted a vocal campaign to persuade Obama to designate a monument to Reconstruction there. Why Beaufort? The town and its environs occupy a unique place in 19th century history: In the fall of 1861, early in the Civil War, Beaufort County became one of the first places in the South to fall to the Union. Although it was precariously situated between Savannah and Charleston, two of the most important Confederate port cities, the concentration of black population in coastal Beaufort made it a hotbed of pro-Union sentiment, and the ideal location for Union naval forces seeking anchorage. Confederates and plantation owners had fled the region, leaving behind their homes, their land, and most importantly, their former slaves.
Over the next few years, the region bore witness to one of the most extraordinary untold chapters of American history. Black leaders and white abolitionists saw an opportunity to demonstrate to white society (especially to skeptical Northerners) that blacks were capable of citizenship: that they could participate in the free labor economy, establish their own educational institutions and live as any other members of society. Northern abolitionists ministers, teachers, doctors traveled to Beaufort County to lend their expertise. The endeavor came to be known as the Port Royal Experiment. Like the Reconstruction as a whole, it succumbed to political reaction; after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865, Republicans began to lose their stomach for radical programs of land redistribution, and the Port Royal Experiment was abandoned.
Beaufort was also the birthplace of arguably the most incredible political figure of the Reconstruction era. Robert Smalls was born into slavery in 1839 and won national fame in 1862 when he commandeered a confederate naval vessel, and, under cover of darkness, piloted it out of Charleston harbor and delivered it to the Union. He ended up meeting with Lincoln and influencing his decision to allow black soldiers to serve in the Union Army. Smalls became the first black man to command a U.S. naval vessel. He then had a long career in Congress, with Beaufort as his political base. Many of the historic sites that will comprise the new monument relate to Smalls and his life.
Unfortunately, African-Americans havent always been in control of their stories, says Michael Boulware Moore. Moore is the president and CEO of the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina. Hes also the great-great-grandson of Smalls. And so stories like Robert Smalls just havent gotten out. Now over the last 15-20 years, certainly more people know of him and his accomplishments. But I grew up in Boston, and I think about Paul Revere who performed a valiant, historical service but he didnt do anything close to what Robert Smalls did. But yet every child in this country learns about Paul Revere. I think [Smalls] still is under-exposed, but thats changing year by year.
I think for a lot of people, the story of Robert Smalls really hasnt fit their narrative, adds Moore. In the South to this day, there are pockets where Robert Smalls is persona non grata because he embarrassed the Confederacy, and they dont want to talk about it.
It took a very long time for Reconstruction to shake off its accumulated historical dust and assume a prominent place in the canon of American history. Its still not there, really, but the popular conception of that era has made strides since a century ago, when its image was the one given to us by D.W. Griffith in his silent epic The Birth of a Nation. In this view, Reconstruction was undertaken by vengeful Northerners as punishment for the Souths independence of spirit. The success of the Democratic Party in banishing the Radical Republicans from the South was a victory to be celebrated. But most tragically consequential was the image this school of historical thought gave of the eras black leaders. Black politicians were childlike, unintelligent, corrupt, and preoccupied only with their own enrichment. It posited too that northern Republican carpetbaggers cared nothing for the rights of blacks, and saw them only as pawns in their political campaign to subjugate the former Confederate states. Black political power, which during Reconstruction was substantial, was fundamentally illegitimate.
The whole idea that your former slaves were now passing laws which white people would have to obey was completely anathema to white Southerners, says Eric Foner. Foner is generally credited as one of the most important figures in the late 20th century Reconstruction revisionism that swept away the Birth of a Nationschool of thought, and he recently co-wrote a New York Times editorial arguing for the establishment of the Beaufort monument.
By the way, he adds, its not all that different from how so many white people view President Obama 150 years later. There are still people who cant accept the fact that hes actually an American and entitled to be president.
Theres only so much that a monument can do to affect peoples historical attitudes, but anyone who has lived or traveled in the American South knows that monuments honoring 19th century figures have a decidedly pro-Confederate slant. Perhaps the new monument in Beaufort will begin to reverse that trend. The removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse and the raging debate over removal of Confederate statues in New Orleans suggest that attitudes toward history may be changing. If current trends continue, we might be on the verge of a Robert Smalls/Reconstruction revival.
In a recent interview, the director of the 2016 feature film Free State of Jones suggested that Smalls story would make a good movie. For now, we can revel in watching the first black president establish a monument to his 19th century forebears in the heart of the former Confederacy.

Reconstruction Is Finally Getting The Historical Recognition It Deserves
