You know when this all started coming to light, I fully expected that leftists would try to downplay the horrific violence by acknowledging that it was "bad and our hearts go out to the victims and their families, but......" or by making a sharp distinction between civilians and soldiers (or even like, minors and adults), but the thing that's fucked me up is that nope! We sailed right past any attempt to even pretend at human decency and cut straight to "they deserved it."

Even the kids?? Yep, even the kids.

I'm used to people feeling like they need to at least gesture vaguely in the direction of giving a shit about Jewish lives and not justifying actual terror tactics and war crimes on civilians (you'd think for consistency's sake they might care about looking like they care for the credibility but..) even if we both know they really don't actually care about antisemitism in a meaningful way. We both know that they won't be there when it actually counts, and they sure as fuck aren't going to interrogate their own personal or group's antisemitism. But usually there's a fig leaf. There's at least a baseline assumption that they should care about antisemitism and Jewish people staying alive, even if they don't actually, so they'll say the minimum amount of correct sounding words and then quickly skedaddle onto whatever it is they actually care about.

And like, is that good? No, it's not. It's not good enough. I'm sick and fucking tired of people doing juuuuuust enough to pretend to care without ever addressing the real underlying issues.

But this? This totally floored me. This drops that baseline assumption that antisemitism and murdered Jews is a bad thing entirely and blatantly sides with literal actual terrorists committing unspeakable horrors while holding it up as "liberation."

And what's worse? Most of those were the further out fringe types (although there were a horrifying amount more than I expected) right? Most everyone else wasn't spouting off about how happy they were that vive la révolucion, right? You know what was really deafening?

The silence from everyone else.

Literally everyone except for maybe one or two gentiles I remember seeing kept their mouths shut. Everyone else? Not a goddamn word about how fucked up it was that people were crowing over our people's fresh corpses. The bodies hadn't even cooled yet and we had jackasses on here publicly celebrating with memes and gore videos, and not a word from 99.9% of you.

The people who did speak up? You have no idea how much it means, and I'm grateful. Truly.

Everyone else who was too gutless, spineless, or oblivious to realize how critical a moment this was for support and/or was more interested in protecting your image or whatever?

Let's just say: duly noted.

in the end all popes ever and forever will suck because thats the nature of the chatolic church. its a huge oppressive institution that needed to be torn down like fucking yesterday for every single persons benefit. there is not a single redeeming quality to it.

but still, it will be damning to see the next pope who is probably going to be one of the most regressive, conservative popes we will ever get to see, and that aint very good because yk, catholics actually care about the popes and they control a large part of the social narrative. theyre a reflection of the greater social currents. and they affect them.

in any case, a "progressive" pope cant really do anything (nor would he want bc he isnt actually progressive) to "remedy" the catholic institution, because there is no remedy to it, it cannot be purified, it can only be torn down. in its nature its cruel and oppressive.

a "conservative" (they all are) pope can do so much damage however, by giving green light to shitload of people who are already racist/sexist/queerphobic ghouls who just need a confirmation to act upon it all. and this time - with gods grace.

i feel like the church might rise to an even more prominent political power depending on who succeeds him this time.

luna moonveil has got... quite a lot of abilities in her arsenal. she's an extremely powerful individual, possibly the *most* powerful in her own verse, if we ignore other godlike beings like raven and spider and bartleby. so i've decided to just create a list of all her powers! this is going to be LONG.

it's important to note that all of her powers increase massively in strength when she's in her divine paradox form.

— necromancy: her mastery over necromancy is absolutely unparalleled. quite literally the master of death - as an element and a concept. powers/abilities stemming from her necromancy include, but not limited to: ↳ divination by contacting dead and undead things. ↳ osteomancy, another form of divination by using bones. ↳ life-force and soul absorption: she can siphon beings' lifeforces and/or souls, but this is not something she uses often as she doesn't have much need for it and it's also a dangerous power that can backfire easily if she isn't careful. she can enhance herself through the drained life-force/soul temporarily, and augment her own powers. however, if used too much, her mind could break and develop different personalities due to multiple souls inhabiting the same body. is not effective on higher beings like raven, spider and bartleby, though she never even tried to do so. shadow magic ENFORCES this ability. ↳ reanimation: summons corpses/dead beings from beyond the grave, and can make them act as minions and guardians for her, being able to create even her own army. yes, this includes enemies she's killed, but she's not sure if she dares to go that far. ↳ soul summoning & trapping: she can summon souls from the afterlife. she can utilize this power in many ways - communicate with the souls, and ask them to offer their assistance. she can also trap souls into objects or dimensions. furthermore, she can also damage the souls irreparably and/or destroy them. ↳ soul removal/extraction: she can harvest the soul out of a real person - or a sentient undead being. this is something she very rarely does, and only does so if she deems a person or a being to not be kept alive. she only does this when she's going for the kill, and every time she goes for the kill, she harvests the soul if there's a soul to be harvested, and makes sure that the soul is properly on it's way to the afterlife. this is her way of ensuring that the soul doesn't get potentially misled. her scythe that she created is most helpful for this. ↳ health drain: pretty self explanatory - she can drain the health of others to heal her own injuries. uses this in a lot of her spells. can use it on her own minions. this ability plays a huge part as to why she just doesn't care about the injuries she sustains during missions. ↳ death sense: she can sense the coming of death and the act of dying. ↳ spiritual awareness: as a necromancer, it goes without saying that she is more attuned to spirits and the paranormal than the regular person. not much that can go past her. ↳ poison generation: through the poison spell. not immune to her own poison, but she doesn't care about that. ↳ necrosis inducement: can induce necrosis on others or self. limited to touch only if she wants to induce necrosis on another person, but for herself it's as simple as willing it. of course, if she wants to reverse this effect, she can always do so. does not work on undead beings but that goes without saying. this is an effective way to kill anyone from the inside out. ↳ beguilement: can charm people under her control for a limited time. ↳ remote possession: she can host herself in others bodies while still maintaining control over her own body. ↳ healing factor nullification: negate the healing factors of other beings. ↳ countless other death spells and abilities that include hindering the enemy in combat and summoning supernatural/paranormal beings.

— hemomancy: this stems from her necromancy, but i thought i'd put it in it's own separate category. ↳ blood manipulation: it requires focus, can control the blood of others and control them through it. uses it as a very last resort. she can also control her own blood and make weapons out of it. ↳ hematomancy: who am i not to give luna hematomancy as an ability. she can gain insight into a question using blood as a conduit. ↳ supernatural tracking: partly due to her magic over blood, she can track anyone down no matter where they are unless they're in a different world or they're an especially powerful being who has blood in them. ↳ use blood to banish souls/beings.

— thaumaturgy (from ice weaving): thaumaturgy is not something she often resorts to. she's powerful enough without it, but there are times when she needs to tap into thaumaturgy when things are especially inconvenient. ↳ cryokinetic combat: being able to utilize ice and manipulate ice during combat - creating ice weapons, freezing walls, etc. ↳ ice defense: being able to use ice as a defensive mechanism, allowing luna to block/parry/dodge with the power of ice. ↳ ice exoskeleton: forming an armor of ice around her body or just a specific part of her body. usually forms it around her hands. ↳ frostbite: she can freeze any part of an entity's body or the entire body to the point where it turns into solid ice. she's not as adept as thaumaturgy as she is at necromancy, so this takes effort. ↳ freezing: can freeze the liquids in her opponents or her own self. can combine this ability with her blood manipulation.

— mana manipulation: a source of magic in the spiral. without it, she cannot use many of her powers. mana is vital to cast some spells and abilities.

— moon magic: she first stumbled upon this in celestia, instantly resonating with her. but the moon itself first resonated with her when she first stepped foot into selenopolis after killing malistaire. her moon magic is lacking up until post arc 4 selenopolis because her connection to selene (the moon) was fractured. ↳ polymorph magic: she can freely shape organisms, allowing her to alter their life, spirit, personality, appearance - or revert altered beings if she knows what they were beforehand. she can also transform herself. this power is fully realised after post arc 4 selenopolis, she couldn't transform others until then. just herself. transforming herself into beings allows her to take on ALL the powers and abilities of those same beings. ↳ lunar empowerment: she gains strength from the moon and can use moon-based spells to empower her spells or protect herself (moon blade, moon shield spells). ↳ lunakinetic combat/lunar attacks: she can use lunar energy as attacks of various shapes/intensities and can utilize moon-based abilities in combat. ↳ lunar communication: being able to communicate with the moon. her communication with the moon was always foggy and short-lived up until she defeated khonsu in selenopolis. ↳ lunar weaponry: wield weapons that have power over the moonlight, or are infused with the power of the moon. or just weapons as a conduit for lunar-based energy. ↳ lunar healing: she can heal people with lunar energies, but not herself. ↳ moondust manipulation: self explanatory - can manipulate moondust. cause who would she be if she couldn't. ↳ lunar representation: luna is the actual chosen avatar of selene, the moon - she has powers stemming from it. she doesn't hold ABSOLUTE dominion over the moon, given that she's just the avatar, and not the moon itself. worst case scenario, if something dire happens to selene, she can become the moon herself. ↳ damaging herself to empower or heal others with moon magic and necromancy combined (sacrifice, empower, dark pact spells.)

— shadow magic: closely related to her moon magic. as soon as she learned shadow magic, it intertwined with her moon magic and resulted in a painful transformation into a spider that she had to learn how to control. it kept slowly eating away at her until she became the divine paradox, resulting in her hands becoming darkened and her fingernails turning into claws. ↳ reality manipulation: this entails many things but in short, shadow magic can refine and rebuild reality and its the magic that forms reality. for example, she's able to make warped reflections of things that exist, or don't exist anymore. with shadow magic, she can tear matter apart and put it back together. ↳ duplication: luna has a "shadow self" that she can summon. ↳ power nullification: she can negate other's abilities. ↳ transformation: she can take on the form of shadow creatures, combining the creatures powers with her own. this sort of transformation differs from her moon magic as it isn't from the same source. ↳ mind manipulation: she can use her shadow magic to put people under her control. more powerful than the necromancer version of beguile, as the shadow version is not for a limited time. ↳ summoning: is able to summon shadow creatures to aid her in battle. ↳ power absorption: she can absorb her opponent's power with shadow magic. ↳ fear manipulation: she can create embodiments of people's fears and failures. ↳ curse manipulation: she can curse people with shadow magic, for example, give them eternal life. NOT something she'd ever want to do, though. this is something im pretty sure morganthe also did. ↳ technology manipulation: shadow magic negatively affects technology to the point where it gets ruined. ↳ petrification: she can turn people into crystal using shadow magic. ↳ healing: she can heal herself and others with shadow magic, but would never use it on others as it can easily corrupt. she much more prefers using lunar energy to heal others. if push comes to shove, she heals herself using shadow magic. ↳ resistance to telepathy: grandmother raven couldn't read her mind anymore after she gained shadow magic. ↳ time distruption ↳ lotta other stuff given that she's absorbed a great deal of morganthe's stolen powers.

— divine paradox/scion of bartleby: ↳ space-time manipulation: able to effortlessly tear a hole into reality. ↳ regeneration: she can regenerate on a godlike level, while also being able to negate others' regenerating abilities. ↳ immortality negation: she can negate other beings' immortality. ↳ nonduality: as the scion of bartleby, the wizard binds shadow and light together and harmonizes these forces. due to this harmonizing force, the shadow surging through her body cannot completely corrupt the (moon)light anymore. ↳ immortality ↳ all her powers but enhanced, and can also sing the song of creation.

— general shit idk where to put: ↳ dispel magic: she can cancel out other forms of magic (through dispel spells). ↳ photographic memory ↳ underwater breathing ↳ flight ↳ sun and star magic: uses sun spells to enhance her spells, and star magic to create an aura around herself that makes her stronger. she's just most adept at moon magic, and the moon basically just... snatched her for itself. ↳ sleep manipulation: she can keep herself awake no matter what surrounds her. ↳ law manipulation: can summon duel circles. ↳ enhanced senses ↳ invisibility: can make herself or others invisible. ↳ telekinesis (from cantrips) ↳ battle field removal: being able to force people outside of their area of combat ↳ portal creation ↳ teleportation ↳ weather manipulation (castle magic) ↳ illusion creation (castle magic) ↳ sound manipulation (castle magic) ↳ size manipulation (castle magic) ↳ myth weaving (that i cba to include in its own section)
