Summary: You're mute, and cant talk? not a problem for your partner, they can find other ways to communicate, and honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

Note: hehe its kinda hard to write for Noelle tbh, i just can't see her romantically if that makes sense, its like a platonic obsession i have for her. but i chose to write for some girlies bc i felt like it, luv you :P

Noelle

She's a sweetheart and i fully believe she would try to learn sign language the day you meet for the first time. but for the sake of the cute gestures lets pretend she barely knows any words in it, or that you arent the best yourself despite probably needing it heh.

(she would teach you some if so, or learn with you)

In a classic Noelle fashion, she does literally anything for you, though people would normally just have to speak her name, you can't. so she always keeps an extra eye on you to ensure she's there when you need her help. that may be a given, but its truly what shes best at doing.

Loves writing little notes for you, whether its just so you can remember something or if its to invite you anywhere, she loves it. and she has definitely not been carrying pen and paper with her for weeks so you could write notes for each other, no no.

I dont imagine her being the best with words, but is always very good at comforting. so if you need some reassurance or just comfort you can come to her. and you can let her know to be silent by putting a finger over her mouth if you like the silence more. she wont be offended don't worry.

Kinich

Not very good with words and likes silence when possible, so it's very common for you to sit in silence doing an activity together. he's best with actions at least, both giving and receiving, so just doing a tiny chore for him would mean more than words could.

Though it may be difficult to do anything for each other since he's quite busy, and so could you be. but he always has time to sit with you for at least 30 minutes a day and just spend quality time together.

if you ever need anything from him, he has a notebook on him at all times that you're free to write in. Although Ajaw has made a fuss about it being annoying to wait for you, but he'll shut up if Kinich locks him up.

Lynette

She loves the silence you bring. being around her brother all the time can get annoying, no matter how much she loves him, so a quiet tea time with you is often just what she needs. she knows you can feel out of place or left out even since you cant communicate as easily with her siblings. but she is always ready to talk for you.

No matter how much she hates public speaking, and how often she gets her brother to speak for her, she'll speak for you. if there's anything you'd like to say, just write it down and show it to her. she might even know what you wanted to say, by how you stand and how your muscles move. so she will sometimes speak for you before you even get to start writing it down.

She has made sure you're a part of the conversation, not just there and looking around. she might have some knowledge about sign language, but she knows many do not and makes sure everyone understands you.

(she might even ask father if they can get classes in sign language, or at least the siblings of hers that you interact with most often)

Beidou

Maybe not the best at silent communication, but she tries her very best. if she doesnt know sign language she'll learn it, mostly because she feels it would make you more comfortable, but its also something that she may find interesting.

She is very good at dealing with different kinds of people though, so expect yourself to feel right at home wherever you are on her ship. she might even have started teaching her crew how to talk with you properly, whether thats getting you something write down on or learning them a bit of sign language that im not sure of.

Unfortunately it all goes in weird directions when she's drunk, while she talks for you it might be hard to get her to pay attention enough or even speak your thoughts properly. Kazuha is your savior in this case.

Diluc

He has made sure every single maid and anyone he hires learn to speak through their hands. he might even have prepared for it before you started dating, and even some of his staff you have never met before just knows how to speak with you.

Its a given that you're going to be well treated at the dawn winery, but Diluc makes sure you feel the most at home you'll ever experience. you have at least 1 maid whos ready to tend to you in a seconds notice, whether its jsut that you need something to write on or you need to know where you lover is.

Will literally drop anything for you with just a finger on his shoulder. whatever you need, he'll do it. need a hug? no need to even gesture it he knows, someone doesnt understand you at all? he's ready to talk in your place for hours on end.

raises my hand. what if pangi struggling with her gender and lukey doesnt quite realize that that's whats going on bc pangis being really vague about it. "i dont feel right in my body" "ok well yeah pangi youre corrupted it's ok. we'll fix that soon enough :)". just completely clueless

Ever since waking up in this realm Pangi felt weird. People acting like they knew him while he had never even seen them before, everyone telling him stories of his exploits when this was the first time he ever even laid eyes on this world, people telling him how he went to the ball - that apparently happened here on two separate occasions - in a dress and a bow… And that surely couldn’t be right. He couldn’t be caught wearing a dress, he couldn’t be caught liking flowers, that’s just not something he would do. Even on Lifesteal as a bit he had never worn a dress, so why would he do it here, and not once, but twice? It just seemed like a lie. A very nice lie, a lie that he wished could be true- but it wasn’t. It couldn’t have been true. He’s a guy, he doesn’t like all those girly things. He’d never wear a dress, especially not to a public event, nuh uh. 

And yet when searching through his enderchest, which was surprisingly full for this being his first ever day on the server, he found something strange. A pink bow. The same that Aimsey told him he was wearing during the first ball. Just a coincidence, surely, it was just there by accident. Why would it ever be in his enderchest? It just didn’t make much sense. He took it out to look over it, and it sure was the girliest thing he could imagine - a pink bow with some flower petals attached to it, made to fit perfectly on one of his head scales- a prank, surely. But it wouldn’t hurt to try it on…

Nope, no, no. He stopped himself centimeters away from putting the bow on his head and quickly put it back in the shulker, and shoved the shulker itself deep into the enderchest. He couldn’t be thinking about this right now. He couldn’t be spending time getting distracted with these silly things - he had the entire server to explore, and he heard something about Nirvana that lets you fly? Surely that is more interesting than some bow. Or a dress. Or a pretty blue cornflower that he gave away - despite desperately wanting to keep it. He shook his head, he was getting distracted again. Too much free time on this realm, back on lifesteal he always had to fear for his life and didn’t have time to think about these things, so why did he have to be stuck here with his thoughts? It just felt miserable.

When a couple of days later Pangi met up with Zam, he was stunned to see him- her. He couldn’t really bring himself to call Zam “he” anymore, it was getting difficult even back on lifesteal, but here? She was wearing a long dress, had long hair and spoke much softer, and it made Pangi rethink some things. He had been noticing Zam dress differently, more girly, on lifesteal more frequently than before, but it was a running gag ever since Kings- but maybe it wasn’t a gag at all? It almost felt weird. No, not Zam - with the amount of times she joked about wanting to be a girl, Pangi has long suspected it wasn’t a joke. But… For some reason it made him feel weird about himself. Zam was so comfortable wearing a dress here… Maybe Pangi did wear a dress back at the ball, too? He didn’t write it in the book, but it just… It just felt right. He wasn’t exactly sure why it felt right, but it did. It was confusing. He didn’t want to think about it right now. It was fine, everything was fine. He was still a guy, just curious about what he had looked like in a dress. It probably didn’t even look that good, and people laughed at him, and it didn’t matter, so why would he even try to look for those answers?

The thought lingered at the back of his mind, however, as annoying as a mosquito you just barely can’t get, and as Pangi was spending the entirety of today just building with Lukey, he couldn’t help but wonder if he might have some answers.

“Hey, Lukey? You went to the ball with me, right?”

“Yeah, I did! Pili asked me to go with, and even though I said no, you still killed me for that - and then had the audacity to ask me, then tell me I couldn’t go to not upset Ros, then get asked out by another guy and then go to the ball with the both of us. Why?” Lukey turned to Pangi with that same playfully mocking expression on his face that he had during at least half of their conversations, and Pangi almost regretted asking him anything in the first place, but he believed that Lukey wouldn’t lie about the dress - he lies about plenty of unimportant things, but usually tells the truth when asked outright. Usually.

“Is it true that I wore a dress? Someone told it to me on the first- well, my first day here, and I just want to compare the accounts.”

“Oh, yes, you certainly did! Beautiful red dress with gold accents, which was a nice touch - red is a very good color to hide wine stains, or blood stains.” Lukey nodded thoughtfully, closing his eyes as if to recall the details of that evening, stupid smile spreading across his face. Pangi hated that he could imagine that dress, he hated that he could see himself wearing it. Why would he ever wear it? Why did he want to imagine himself wearing it?

“Did… Did I look good in it?” Lukey paused after hearing this question, smile getting subtler, and tilted his head slightly trying to understand just what Pangi was asking. Then, he nodded knowingly, which looked even more annoying for Pangi than his stupid smirk, and replied:

“You looked happy. Well, for the couple of minutes before Pili and Zam arrived, that is.”

“That doesn’t answer my question and you know it!” Pangi was getting annoyed, his tail tip slightly vibrating as he tried to pry some answers from this guy who kept getting more annoying with every passing second.

“Everyone looks better when they’re happy, Pangi. That includes you. And yes, you looked great in that dress. And when you started swinging that axe, too? Oh, that was magnificent! What I wouldn’t do to see you like that again.” He was doing the voice. Pangi hated that voice. Well, he loved that voice, and he hated the fact that he loved it. 

But… The thought that he looked good in the dress… Ugh, it was so annoying. He couldn’t think about that. It just felt so right and so wrong at the same time. He hated it. He hated it so badly. Why does he have to deal with all this nonsense instead of being hunted down every waking moment of his life, like back of lifesteal? That was easier than being here.

“I just… I just don’t feel right, Lukey.” Lukey’s smile softened, and Pangi hated him for that. How dare he be compassionate. It all felt wrong. He hated everyone. He really should’ve killed everyone on this server, like he wrote in the book. He’s so stupid.

“Is it about the corruption, or… about something else?” Lukey’s voice was soft, and the hand he put on Pangi’s shoulder made Pangi want to throw up. He hated everything. Why was everyone so nice here? Why did he have to deal with these thoughts here? He despised every moment of this.

“You know, Pangi, I think I might have your dress somewhere in this lab if you want to try it out again, just to see how it looks? I think it might be stained in a little bit of blood and slightly torn by Sneeg’s spear, but blood is barely visible on red fabric anyway, and the tears can count as style points. Do you want to try it out?” Lukey’s voice was still so soft, even as he started looking through chests, trying to find the piece of fabric that Pangi kind of wanted to try on again. It was stupid. Everything was stupid. 

“Yeah, I’d like that.” Pangi’s voice was suddenly weak, he could barely even hear himself, but Lukey must have heard it anyway - he lit up, and started searching even faster, and Pangi wanted nothing more than to kill him for that, for making him feel this way, for making him consider wearing the dress. What was wrong with him?..

Fic idea! When jayce and viktor disolve into the cosmos they like...become the arcane. Two halves of a whole, yin and yang. And when they merge, they become the universe/arcane herself.

Cause Mage viktor is...a mage yk? And Viktor basically ascended to godhood. What's one more step? Boom, they ARE the fabric of the universe and magic.

So they dissolve into the universe and become AwareTM of every timeline, possibilities, the forming of stars and planets, and culture in an instant. They see the rise and fall of gods, countries and cities, everything in the span of an instant. They are here together, not better than they ever were, still the same, just with more power and awareness and love than they ever had.

And then they get dropped right into them being arrested after they make hextech. So now you have Jayce and Viktor who have the will of the arcane at their fingertips and the entire universe in their brains that have just been dropped into a grad student and an assistant and are actively being arrested. Cue minor meltdowns in their cell bec omfg we wove the fabric of the universe, WE made the magic this whole time? So they use the skills they have to help Zaun while also playing the council. Water filters air filters, they're going to actually help this time instead of letting their dream be corrupted, and it will actually work bec they have the very fabric of magic and the universe in their hands. When they figure out how to use it.

Jayce has to relearn all of his notes on magic bec Cosmic Jayce was crazy and some areas of magic have such insane rules that cant even be applied in his mortal body what was he thinking? And Viktors notes are no more help to himself or jayce either.

So they have to relearn their magic with mortal limitations, which is kinda difficult when you're used to making stars and black holes with a thought and a wave of your hand. There's a lot of nosebleeds and migranes.

While they relearn their magic (and their bodies *wink wonk*), they also take to tutoring Powder and Ekko after they adopt them (sue me, i love that trope)

Idk how that fits in here, but im a sucker for Jayce being ekkos older brother figure, and i think powder and jayce should be friends. and i think viktor would love ekko even though he chucked an anomaly at his face. Jinx and viktor are self-explanatory.

Its a fix it so everyone lives. The explosion still happened but vanders actually fine so are mylo and claggor (yk jayce and viktor control the magic, even across the distancehe could remive the magic from the stone, they know the explosion has to happen but it doesnt need to kill anyone else), vi didnt get arrested. But vi still hit powder and called her a jinx. Powder runs away, jayce and viktor are already on their way to zaun bec they Know. They run into powder (for some reason she trusts them) and they go get ekko and help him too.

A few months later, powder is in therapy (so is ekko tbh) , she still introuces herself to people as Jinx, but Jayce, Viktor, and Ekko call her powder. Jayce helps when Powder has her moments considering yeah hes been through the same thing, he cant really hwlp, but he can comfort (the whole reason i want then in the same place anyway i love them both)

Zaundads sees Jayce and Viktor standing to the side, vut a flash of blue hair catches their full attention. Right there, getting everones attention, is a girl with a single calf length blue braid. And before their brains can catch up, Powder starts her presentation!

Vander and Vi have been looking for powder since. Eventually, once the water filters and air filters get made, Silco and Vander make up; and silco joins them in searching. Jayce and viktor have made their own connections in zaun, and while some people are suspicious of help from a piltie at the start (esp silco and vander) the years of effort theyve put in to help has given them a reputation. Eventually, powder and ekko start a project to bring more light to zaun. They start by making prototypes for street lights.

Eventually they decide to do their big project reveal; and this time, Zaundads and Vi decide to go. No one knows what they're revealing, but they've never had a presentation this early. Hell, the last presentation was for their streetlights. What else could the possibly have?

When it's finished, powder leaps off her improvised stage and striaght into jayces arms where he spins her around. Then, he pulls her and ekko into hugs. They can faintly hear Jayces 'im so proud of you' over the loud murmurs of the crowd. They see viktor come over and eatch them all hug again.

When it's over, Zaundads and Vi are watching in shock. They've spent years looking for her, and she was this close? How many times had vi run past her, or just missed her?

This was really supposed to be a 'we need more jayce being a magical girl, how about i make him one half of the most powerful entity to ever exist'

How would reader react to Tangerine coming home sick or injured? We already know he would baby the hell out of her if roles were reversed but would she try and take care of him if he needed help?

okay, so the reader in general has a very, very big heart. no matter who the person is, she will always feel for them, and she hates that. she thinks its a weakness of hers. even if its a person she hates, she cant stand seeing them in any kind of pain, she just gets no satisfaction from that.

so when tangerine comes stumbling through the front door, groaning with cuts all over his arms and bruises forming all over his face, the first thing reader feels is shock. she always sees tangerine come back from a mission with a bruise or two, and usually a bloody nose. thats all. and he is able to carry himself with no issue. but he just looked horrible. his lip was busted, both eyes beginning to bruise, as well as his cheeks. he had abandoned his blazer, only wearing his white button up, but it was absolutely drenched in blood and shredded up, like he was constantly being sliced up.

she covers her face and cringes when tangerine bumps himself into the table and doubles over, cursing in pain. not knowing what to do, she curled herself up on the couch with peach, not wanting to be seen by him. luckily, he passes by very slowly into the kitchen. every step and groan is torture for her.

the last straw for her was seeing tangerine bring out a giant bottle of rubbing alcohol and poor it directly over his the cuts on his arms. she jumps out off of the couch, placing a confused peach where she sat, and quickly walked to the kitchen.

"tangerine, stop it!"

he flinches when hearing you, thinking you were asleep upstairs.

"what are you doin' up so late?" he asks with furrowed eyebrows. he takes your sleep schedule very seriously. he knows you worked yourself to the bone and barely slept before bringing you into his life. not even getting the recommended minimum time.

"i dont know, i couldnt sleep. dont put this stuff on your cuts, it doesnt actually help."

tangerines heart speeds up he feels your hands gently grab his arm and bring it over the sink.

"wash it with water and soap instead, okay" you look up at him to make sure hes paying attention only to see he was already staring at you. even with the handful of bruises and blood on his face, he was still the most handsome man youve ever seen. you cough and bring your attention back to his arm.

"cool water, okay?"

"okay"

after cleaning the cuts on his arms, you ask him to clean the ones on his chest and stomach himself. you couldnt bring yourself to even think about doing it, you know youd get distracted.

the most you did was clean the blood off of his face, and even that was difficult. being so close to him and holding his face in your hands. the way tangerine closed his eyes and sighed when you brushed his hair back will forever be engrained into your mind. you couldnt resist doing it again just to hear his pretty sighs and feel his hair running through your fingers. this was the perfect moment to feel him without actually giving into his advances, and you took it.

after cleaning his bloodied cheek, you couldnt stop yourself from softly brushing over it with your thumb. after the last swipe, you had to pull yourself away before you did something you know youd regret.

"okay, i think thats good"

tangerine nodded his head, a little dazed from all your touches. you felt a little giddy to have affected him this much.

"thank you so much, my love" and he ends the night with his hands cradling your neck and a kiss to your cheek.

i've returned to post about a particular subject i've been fighting to or not to post, because i used to consider this person the closest person in my life and i even considered her as a best friend and a sister.

and we have fallen out and apologised to each other many times, but perhaps whenever we argued it was life telling me that she is not supposed to be in my circle. and you could be wondering why am i bringing this up and telling tumblr this but im telling tumblr this to be aware of @couerardent and her scamming behaviour.

talk about WORSE SERVICE I HAVE EVER GOTTEN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

[other people have come to me and spoke about how bad her services were, but i tried to overlook it because i really cared for her, lessoned learn]

i have always been empathetic towards ardent and her money situation, but there are moments when excuses turn into reasons to not do something. on august, i sent alex money because she needed it, but she also said in return she will give me 4 packs she usually gives her clients and she told me she would give me my money back.

first pack is "tell me your story."

second and other packs she hadnt told me what they were but she informed me that i'll be receiving them weekly since august, and now its november.

at first i was empathetic, since i used to be close to ardent, i knew she went through a lot of stuff at home, so i was patient. until august turned into september, and september turned into october and then october turned into novemeber.

and slowly i became annoyed, [as i should] because her services arent even long or good, as someone who gives chart readings to other people that consists more than fourteen pages, the effort to write that would take long, but ardent doesnt even give five pages for her services, three at most, so why is it taking her so long?

previously, she has joked to me about scamming other people, but would put the blame on them and not want to take accountability until they start using threats to expose her, i think she deleted the making fun of scamming them but here is some of it:

and when i would message her for updates about my reading because it'll take months, she would ignore me and even change her pfp on tumblr or discord, until i reach out to her on more platforms to get her attention.

and what would annoy me even more is that she would talk about how she never has something to do or would focus on other stuff knowing she needs to get my reading done lmao and this would be like 1-2 months after i was supposed to receive any of it lol.

worrying about the layout for almost 3 months PLEASE.

i have received 1/4 readings, and that was now almost 2-3 weeks ago, we should've been on my 2nd or 3rd reading by now, the only reason i have received 1 reading is because i did threaten to expose her if she didnt send the money or reading my way, because even i had some issues because living in london has gotten really difficult and i have been trying to support my family as much as i can, but im doing better right now.

its all about the principle. and she has none of that. and even attempted to victimise herself and behave like she was in distress whenever she got called out about her behaviour.

she lost track of time, the time being 3-4 months lol.

and when i was speaking to her she ignored me for a bit again ha, it was almost comedic. for almost two weeks she didnt try and check what i was speaking about.

she has gotten ill, but this was still months after.

and i have remembered, she has used much of her earned money to fund for her nose job but also uni, but during the moments it was best to pay me back was at the job she said paid her well, she informed me that when she gets paid by her job she'll pay me back, and she never did and ended up quitting the job.

[the unfairness i was speaking about is how uni her country dont do student finances, she's from romania, because they do in the uk it was just a surprise].

i asked her recently on how i was supposed to receive a reading but she didnt reply but change her pfp on whatsapp and discord, again.

now, i *am* thinking about the sin sisters. not super a whole lot, but a little bit. oop this is getting long so ill readmore it

im kind of in love with the idea i had for sloth, which is that she's lost the ability to self-direct. she isnt interested in any hobbies or goals or anything, but lying in bed doing nothing isnt fun either. all she really cares about is finding a way to make the time pass quicker, but since she has no self-direction, she just defaults to what people tell her to do. after the ruin of the family and the deaths of their parents, the other 6 sisters all got into a huge fight and went their separate ways, but sloth stayed behind in the empty manor, repeating the studies she had to take as a child. one of the family's erstwhile maids takes pity on her and brings food so she doesnt starve (she said shed be fine with whatever, so its mostly a big delivery of heavily preserved nonperishables. her days mostly consist of breakfast, reading the next history book in the library, lunch, reading a book on etiquette (there's really only a few so she rereads them constantly), dinner, and swordsmanship. she can't sleep anymore due to the curse, so she just continues swinging her sword around until morning, and the cycle repeats. its boring and it sucks, but so does everything else. a number of years pass before she's visited by Pride, who's decided that she's going to find the rest of their sisters and bring glory back to the family name, starting with Sloth because obviously she'd still be here at home and thus easy to find. Sloth goes with her bc she's asked to.

as far as how their curses work, i think its twofold. it amplifies their sin, and makes it more difficult to bear. sloth used to enjoy some aspects of life, but she can't anymore, and the inability to sleep means she can't quickly pass the time by doing it. for pride, i think she's cursed to be unmemorable. nobody recognises her, though her sisters will remember her if she tells them who she is. she was always arrogant about how much better she was than everyone, so after the split she decided to start adventuring, but no matter how many achievements she racks up, the guild receptionists just look at her card and say 'oh it looks like youve done a lot? sorry, i just dont remember anyone by your name.'

as for what their names are..... mmmmm, pride can be Vana, sloth can be Aletha. Vana's the 2nd sister, Aletha's the 5th. and Reese can be.... eldest sister. which puts Wrath as 3rd, Lust as 4th, Envy as 6th, and Gluttony as 7th. that works pretty well. i need to think of if these curses provide any combat abilities or if theyre just bad things that suck. as characters, i think vana's a kind of deeply androgynous hot girl type character who would come off as annoyingly gallant if anyone could remember her. she's one of the girls who's learned to live with her curse instead of being controlled by it like Aletha is, so she's gotten used to people not recognising her greatness. theyre just too foolish to see it through the curse. it is not the place of dogs to recognise brilliance. but she cant handle being doubted or questioned, and she's bitter that Aletha is a better swordswoman than her. Aletha meanwhile is a very polite but expressionless and quiet girl. her hair is short enough that it doesnt need styling, and she wears the easiest-to-put-on dress she has. Vana makes sure to keep her gear and weapons in good condition, but Aletha thinks thats too much hassle and hasn't ever bothered to clean or sharpen her sword. it's fine like that.

Is your OC prone to introspection and reflection? Or do they not have much of an inner life in that regard? Do they ever find themselves ruminating upon things they would sooner forget? Or do others despair of them ever learning from their mistakes?

OH BOY HOWDY- WHAT A GREAT QUESTION. Vex does introspect and reflect, but they are the type of person to do so when something prompts them to. And it doesnt necessarily have to be someone telling them to think outright.

A prime example of this is actually Riddle's OB and the lead up to it. Because unlike all the rest of the Housemates? Vex doesn't see what Riddle has done to earn the ridicule, punishment, and vitriol he receives. And when they (Ace namely) demand that he change, it brings Vex pause. Why is it that Riddle has to change, but telling someone they should just die - like Ace does in the JP- doesn't warrant a need for change? Asking someone to follow the rules is bad? But telling someone they deserve death isnt??? She doesn't get it. And she's heavily reminded of the same ire that was directed at her, and continues to be directed at her. Has she done something wrong too? She doesn't see how, and this visibly upsets her.

So if you consider their hidden escape, the room beyond the looking glass and everything in it, to be a hoard? Then yes. They have one. They ARE a dragon- a dragon that loves games. And friends. And trinkets.

How good is your OC at remembering small details about other people, such as their favourite foods or their date of birth? Do they find it easier to remember details about people they find attractive or potentially useful?

Vex is very wonderlandy in that of course she is great at remembering details!! But the details tend to be.... random... and lacking a pattern... and lacking in consistency. They try their best but they simply cannot keep certain things straight.

Does your OC always ensure they have sufficient material supplies or food stores to last through lean or difficult times? Or are they more inclined to rely (or assume they can rely) upon the generosity of others should they run low on resources?

Oh this is complicated actually. Because they are upper class and are used to having help back home. But unlike Malleus, they arent a prince and they certainly don't have any retainers. So at NRC, they try their damnedest to learn how to care for themself. And admittedly, this is where I think Riddle and Trey and Cater play a big role. Because she mirrors and learns from them a lot. Vex will ask Trey and Cater life advice and about life skills, and while Cater in particular is baffled by their lack of knowledge, he and Trey do genuinely try to help.

What gift or reward is your OC most proud of having bestowed upon another person? What makes them proud about it? The expense or rarity? The time or effort expended in obtaining it? Or how clever or insightful they were in deciding upon it?

OOOOH okay so-- I have not explored this a lot. But Vex IS a draconic fae. I have to imagine that gifts are super important to Vex, and I do imagine that they follow fae laws unless otherwise specified. I'm gonna put a pin in this and then update this ask when I have a better idea.

If you could write a backstory episode for Hotch, what would it look like?

ah.. the age old question

truthfully im not much of a writer, so id have a hard time condensing everything id want out of his backstory into a 40 min episode (or a 2 part special). i think the simplest way would be something similar to profiler profiled where they take a case close to hotch’s home and he knows the people involved but doesnt want to admit it

tbh i think itd be difficult enough to set up a case like that. jj might have to bring it in—maybe she was surprised when hotch turned down her suggestion to consult and got passionate about it. (hotch can claim to be by-the-book, but when it comes to something he cares about, he caves pretty fast, so i think he’d be too concerned about avoiding reliving decades old trauma maintaining his composure around the team to let them dig around too deep). but jj goes behind his back (well intentioned, not well thought out) to assign the team this case anyway

ive given it a lot of thought and i think itd be funniest for hotch to just pretend not to recognize anyone. he likely hasnt been back since before boarding school, so he’s probably relying on no one recognizing him either. but some of the older folks at the precinct cant help but think of that hotchner fellow when they see the name. hotch does relatively well, but the team begins to notice he’s more tense than usual. theyre not really sure what to think until the sheriff (or someone idk) tells the story of the lawyer hotchner (spittin image of this fbi guy!) and his troublemaker son, and they start putting the pieces together

i think itd be fun to have the team forcibly dig around into hotch’s life. for one thing, it seems like the only way they’d get anything out of him about his past. and two, even if none of them are consciously aware of their own spiteful vindictiveness, it’s lowkey payback for all the times hotch has crossed their own personal boundaries “for the sake of the case.” anyway they find out about what went down in the hotchner household, and suddenly all the pieces come together: all the red flags theyve kinda just ignored until now form an ugly picture of abuse.

god forbid anyone gets closure on this fucking show. inevitably they dont really talk about it and after the case is over its basically never brought up again (unless morgan is mad about something or reid is losing an argument). itd probably end with hotch looking at a picture of his son or some cheesy shit like that. in true criminal minds fashion: hotch gets his trauma dragged up for no reason and then they never deal with or acknowledge it ever

Iris: Is Rook religious? Are there any moments in their past that made them come to this decision?

She used to be religious. Dawn was born is a very andrastian family, and up until the age of 6, she was raised that way - even her real name, Dawn, is because of the hymn 'dawn will come'.

However, once she was sent to the circle, that changed. Being abused by templars, and seeing others suffer the same, and realize no one cared, made her really start to question the Maker. Why would he allow mages to exist, if Andraste would make everyone turn against them? Why would he abandon his creations for so long? Why should we pray for him if he has left us? And these sort of questions only grew and grew until Dawn was pretty much like yeah fuck this.

Black-eyed Susan: Does Rook believe justice exists? (The act/concept, not the character) Would they ever take justice into their own hands?

(ok the "the concept not the character" is sending me) The idealist in her wants to believe it, but after all she went through, 'justice' feels more like a nice dream than a reality. Dawn does tho try to make that better - just bc the world is unjust and unfair doesnt mean you have to be too sort of mentality, so yeah, depending on what it is, she'll take justice into her own hands.

Hellebore: What are some of their triggers? Would anyone notice if Rook was exposed to one?

Hum. I don't know if it counts as a trigger, but lowkey, templars. In the sense that, she gets really uncomfortable being around them and it tends to bring up the bad memories. Like when she meets Rana, she has to keep telling herself that 'its different in tevinter'. Like its difficult to explain, but she does not feel good whenever there's templars involved.

Davrin and Harding would because he knows what went down in the circle. Lucanis and Neve are observational enough that they probably would put two and two together. Emmrich, Bellara and Taash would notice that maybe Dawn is acting a little off.

yeah so as you've probably gleaned from my posts my current "putting this on when i feel like killing my self so i dont kill meself" thing has been replaying fnv AGAIN but get this its on hardcore mode start to finish this time. never done that before, not from the start with the intent to keep it on the whole game. overall it really does not add that much difficulty. if anything im surprised how little my courier needs to sleep like girl are you okay. she doesnt sleep. drinks a ton of water though #PeeGirl. yeah the one thing that really actually makes it difficult is the companions dying thing. i have ede waiting outside any sort of Location With Enemies because otherwise this orb just tumbles to the floor dead within two minutes. which is dumb because its a robot so how can it die. i should be able to fix it. well unless it gets smashed to little pieces but it never does. either way sucks to think about how i wont be able to bring anyone with me when i eventually go to black mountain because i know in my heart id have to reload constantly cuz my buddy has Died. like theres a giant super mutant charging at us Craig i dont have time to crouch behind you and inject your sweaty booty cheek with stimpaks. i do also like the stimpaks healing over time thing. keeps me humble. no changes to quarry junction though because that is THE gauss rifle sniping location. you guys ever try that? get that unique gauss rifle and headshot some deathclaws. gives you a RUSH

(i am going to tell you about compelling cytus 2 straight relationships) (my headcanons might get mixed in because its been 2 years since i read the lore and i dont feel like reading the 1000+ page transcription rn)

ALSO SPOILER WARNING FOR THE CYTUS 2 STORY

OK STARTING OFF WITH MY FAVOURITE ONE. CONNER X SASHA

incredibly egotistical guy (conner) who thinks hes better than everyone else meets his match in an academic setting but cant talk to her (sasha) because she graduates early and leaves. therefore he does the perfectly normal thing of stealing identity information of a bunch of random citizens from the government to sell on the black market bc sasha is also there as a mole for the police. he acts super incompetent to make her feel bad and help him sell the information for the best price and they end up forming a partnership for a while. their final job goes wrong as the police busts in and doesnt believe sasha when she says shes also part of the police bc her captain deleted her civilian identity file as part of the mission and that guy died in the raid so shes cooked. conner saves her at the last second and, dropping the act, tells her that he saved a copy of her civilian file and will be driving her to the nearest city and she can choose what she wants to do from there. shes super mad at him for decieving her but is grateful for the out that hes given her and leaves for the city with no internet to start fresh, assuming they would never see each other again. fast forward to the Plot and conner seeks her out again for help on some stuff and their modern dynamic is conner going "youre so cool and awesome haha...... we were such a good team back in the day....... you should run away with me" and sasha is like "no." its completely played for comedy (in my understanding) since the writing makes it clear that sasha has put her old life behind and only humours conner because hes an old friend (its been several years since the deception thing so i would assume she made peace with it and came to the conclusion that overall conner is chill) but she has a life of her own now. meanwhile shes the closest thing conner has ever had to a friend because shes the only (alive) person he sees as an equal so even though he knows its futile, he tries to convince her to come with him anyway. they were never really together and will never be together, and thats what makes their relationship interesting.

next up........ cherry x xenon !

this one is fun bc they start the story as exes. they dated when they were younger but broke up for reasons i can only describe as "her dad killed his dad and that really puts a strain on a relationship yk". basically cherrys dad got involved with organized crime after her mom died and he lost his job and xenons dad is a cop who was investigating said organized crime so they got into a Conflict and cherrys dad ended up killing xenons dad and severely injuring his sister. cherry also never told xenon abt this during their relationship bc its a bit difficult to bring up the whole "my dad does crime and sometimes i do it too" to the guy whos dad is a cop. the way they find out what happened is a bit. well funny isnt the right word but basically xenon is like "MY DAD AND SISTER GOT SHOT" and cherry was like "OH NO THATS HORRIBLE" so they rush to the hospital to visit them and see a news report about the incident and the perpetrator getting arrested and cherrys like "oh..............." they got in a huge fight after that and justifiably break up but deep down they still love each other and just. havent talked about it for several years after that. later some Plot stuff happens, they kinda reconcile a little bit, and cherry ends up injured in a fight. they were chilling at a base with really good medical facilities tho so the boss was like "here stay in this Healing Tube for a while and youll be fine" but uh oh! the evil bad guys attack and turn off all of the power in the base, including cherrys life support, and they turn the power back on too late so she dies and xenon is completely devastated over it because they never properly reconciled (i think there was something like he never said "i love you"? but i will have to reread lore to confirm. huge angst moment if true tho). i think they have an interesting arc in its tragedy. is it kinda contrived? yeah. but i think its thematically appropriate for the relationship where the whole thing is that something always went unsaid (first the crime thing, then how they actually still liked each other) ended with something unsaid, yk.

side note: theres even more tragedy to the situation considering the way they turned the power back on. ok basically theres a 12 year old girl named nora (shes the aforementioned boss) (shes a mafia boss) (its a long story) and she was experimented on as a baby and left to die to The Virus when the experiment failed but she survived and the scientists were like "holy crap can she be the key to a cure!?" so they took her back to the lab and raised her. shes disabled due to the initial experiments requiring her legs to be amputated and also happens to be mute but shes a genius so she built a robot to talk for her since she was stuck in her room all day (no one figured it was a good idea to give her mobility aids until several years down the line) (their idea of parenting was also like. playing chess with her once in a while). she also got into making edm songs for a while. later, she makes a robot known to the players as robo_head to be her bodyguard since they figure out that the virus gave her powers to see/hear through any camera or microphone connected to the internet and decide to use it for profit by touting her as an "oracle". now is a good time to mention that cytus 2 is a science.... fantasy? story where everyone has a brain chip to connect to the internet. anyways the more nora uses her powers the worse her eyesight gets and its also generally harmful to her health. robo_head is basically her only friend and she ends up having to send him off for reasons i wont get into rn and somewhere down the line he gains sentience and makes his way back to her. nora is enraged that he came back at first but after some persistence she lets him in and finds out about these developments, and is ultimately happy to have her friend back. when the power gets cut, robo_head knows that cherry needs help and volunteers to use himself as the power source which would essentially fry his circuits. nora refuses at first since she just got him back, but understands the importance of saving cherry so she ends up agreeing. unfortunately, its too late, so basically two people had to die for no reason ! (luckily nora ends up being able to fix robo_head after the end of the game but he was Gone for a while)

OK TANGENT OVER. BACK TO SHIPS. UHH sagar and rin are a thing

there was lore im pretty sure but i forgot so all i remember is that sagar is a pretty confident guy except when he has to talk to rin, in which cases he loses all of his skills ever and his dialogue mainly consists of "ummm uhm uhhh" and rin is also too nervous to notice how unskilled sagar is being. this is the only couple who gets a happy ending btw

honourable mention: whatever ilka(?) and rald had going on. classic nonhuman who is fascinated with humanity via one specific guy x guy who is unintentionally being very attractive. idk. i would tell you more about it but my dlcs are LOCKED and TAKEN AWAY from me 👎

ask and you shall receive!

seeds and rayla are from my story (which has not been posted anywhere ever </2) "a seed of hope". the concept for the story was based on an article i read when i was like. 11. and it was about how scientists where figuring out how to make it so human children could be born with animal parts (e.g: cat ears, bird wings, etc.)

the story takes place in a time period where this was successfully figured out and therefore parents were giving their children bits of animal genetics through like. putting the dna in them. i would explain the science better but i am TIRED right now so. yeah i think you could probably research it if youre curious?

anyways, of course because humans tend to SUCK. these hybrids were looked upon as just feral animals by many humans. in fact, it started going so far that "zoos" made, not for protection of animals, but for the money and profit off of other's suffering, started popping up, and they would offer insane amounts of money to parents who agreed to give up their children to be raised in these zoos. and it wasnt very great by any means.

at first, scientists had only figured out how to put the dna of other mammals into humans - not, say, reptiles or birds just yet. however, after several more years of studies, they finally figured out how to do hybrids of reptiles with humans/birds with humans. however it was incredibly difficult for them to survive for a long time due to the huge change, and in the case of reptiles, cold-blooded vs warm-blooded. if their animal type can fly, then theres a slim chance of them being able to actually lift themselves off the ground, much less actually glide or even fly. so, naturally, the zoos would pay so much for this stuff. putting these people in cages for being just a bit different in a way they cant control.

flash forward to the present. seeds is 20 now, and has been in these zoos for, well, 20 years. he barely remembers his mom and never met his dad, as they were both bird hybirds like him and, per rules in the zoos, a child born in a zoo is not to meet their father and is only to be with there mother until they can walk and talk on their own.

seeds, being one of the few bird hybrids that can actually fly, hates being trapped in the cages. hes only never escaped because of the chains that tie his wings together and the fact that he was always told bad things about the outside world as a kid. twice a day he goes off to a separate, large open room where the chains are temporarily removed so he can fly freely and show off for the visiters.

one day, however, it is discovered that the keys to unlock the chains were stolen. suddenly hit with the fact he may never fly free again, he immediately went and escaped the zoo in order to find the who stole the keys and get them back.

he managed to, somehow, successfully escape. he got out and promptly began his search, knowing he was gonna have to be quick so that theh dont realize he gone, or at least so he doesnt get caugjt by someone willing to bring him back.

to get a higher vantage point, he climbs up a building in order to see more of the city below. however, for but a moment, he foregts about the chains, and jumps off the building to start flying.... and he jsut falls.

thankfully he is unharmed as he is caught by someone with a pair of big ole ram horns on her head. she puts him down, playfully teasing like "oh i see the little birdy cant fly, hm?"

he is, frankly, caught off guard by this, but once he mentally steadies himself again, he asks her if she might know what haplened to the keys, seeing as shes a hybrid as well, who seems to also be from the zoo. she pulls the keys out, but doesnt unlock the chains. she wants to make deal the next day, waiting a bit longer to see how truly willing he is. he agrees to meet up, and yeah. in exchange for him helping her cause problems from those against hybrid freedom, she will unlock his wings. he agrees, and he is free once more. and the ram girl introduces herself as rayla.

over time they get closer and closer and start to become friends, and eventually partners. seeds finally speaks up about one of the biggest reason he hated the zoo. (heavy tw for sexual trauma, safe to read again once to see the "~~~")

he told rayla about how in the zoo, due to how difficult it was to get bird hybrids, that they would often be forced to have children once they reached 18 years of age. he would never get to meet his children and he never, ever wanted to have sex ever again. not after that. and, once again, hes only 20.

hes struggles with the feeling of being touched at all by someone he barely/doesnt know, and hates it so much.

aaaaand thats about it (the above part, while it is important to his character, it isnt necessary to know so dw!!!). yeah mans has been through stuff. i could go on a whole other tangent about rayla and how her problems are but it is nearly 11:40 at night and i am TIRED. he has a lot of problems i dont know why i did this to him but WHATEVER. i love rayla though fr so i might add onto this post tomorrow about her lmao.

regarding last post the thing about moshe and neal is theyre both kind of canonically pathetic wet cats so its hard to find tension between them personality wise which would result in the kind of tashi/art vs tashi/patrick dynamic. i think the difference is neals refusal to accept help is more out of principle and in many ways a need for independence makes him much more like patrick whereas moshes difficultness stems from his abandonment issues which means as much as he will huff and get upset when ppl try to help him in ways he doesnt like, he is incredibly loyal and will eventually listen to the ppl around him because he craves both guidance and validation. i think the hotel scene would play out very similar but i think moshe would be more explicit about his desire for an ultimatum (not on purpose) while also emphasising how much he wants to stay with her despite knowing she will never truly love him like that

that post about tashis one true love being tennis and how she will always love tennis much more than she will ever love the boys while also knowing they are her only way to have that rings pretty true for kharm too. like as much as she cares for and loves neal and moshe in ways her true love is performance and connecting with her fans. as much as she spends so much effort trying to maintain her cool persona, she wants to be vulnerable but they all love her so much and place her on a pedestal so its difficult. shes also honest in little ways like telling them her dreams and crushes which feel like a big deal to her but the only time she can really truly connect and be seen is performing and putting her feelings into songs and she knows she wouldnt have that without the rest of the band. when theyre singing together, whether its with a live audience or a jam session, for those moments they truly understand each other and it is kind of like theyre in love. or something. i dont remember the actual quote but u get it

anyway this ties back to art/patrick & moshe/neal playing together without realising the vulnerability in it thats been there the whole time. i think moshes style kind of mirrors art in the way of like his verses are sometimes a little clunkier he might get focused on one thing and have to jam it in there, art might be a weaker player than patrick but he has tells in the same way moshe is kind of involuntarily showing his inner psyche when he sings, and they still connect to each other. havent thought this part out much but moshe being the new kid at school and being welcomed by the others vs art being a “late bloomer” and patrick helping him are definitely linked. if i follow this thread any further i will start experiencing vertigo but u get where im going

im not sure if they would get a similar satisfying ending like the movie solely because theyre very prone to messiness and poor communication and as im typing this im realising thats kind of challengers whole thing so idk. maybe theyd work it out. i think moshe does sort of have enough admiration and love for neal that he could accept it but he might also spiral and get upset and do moshe things etc u get it. i am not going to talk about did system moshe but it definitely adds layers to this that could either bring it closer to the events of the movie or complicate things further (in a fun way) but also tbh moshe does that on his own anyway

What is the weirdest thing your oc regularly eats? (I'm changing it a little by adding 'the oddest thing your OC has ever eaten')

Albert:

Being from Altus, RQ, he's had exposure in trying things like Pie and Mash (which so happens to have eel in/accompanying it). It isn't often, but he does still enjoy the dish on occasion. As well, He's tried Chicharrón de pulpo. This was only on accident, though, as it was in the weeks following Azul's attempts to take the Dorm from them. Yuu had learned how to 'Passive aggressively' cook things like the aforementioned octo-chicharrón to pointedly bring to lunch. Needless to say: Yuu smugly shared some with the Twins, while said Tweels got a show in the grave face Al made on the realization.

Yuu:

This is probably the weirdest that others would probably balk at but: huitlacoche, corn smut or 'mexican truffle'. They loved how their grandma could make it a big deal because of how difficult it is to get a hold of fresh. 'Canned never tastes the same, mi hijo' She would say.

Tidus:

It might be easier to count on fingers things the dude hasn't tried yet. There were a few misses, but some like okonomiyaki were a knock outta the park. Similar to how Floyd likes making odd takoyaki concoctions, Tidus loves putting different things in okonomiyaki to see what works and doesnt.

Lázaro:

He has a pretty varied palate, but the one he just couldn't get into were fluffernutters (Peanut butter/marshmallow fluff sandwiches). Something others might think 'odd' he eats on the regular though, would be menudo, only because of the tripe.

The Janitor:

They motion that while they don't have a sense of taste, they do experience temperature differences and textures. Because of that, many a non-edible thing has been chewed on, with the one of the least preferred textures being non-neutonian fluid. AKA Gak/slime/putty. They describe it as squeaky, cold and sometimes grainy.

Aadesh:

He has had a chance to try a lot of things, being the closest underling to Mr. Khan. His consistent 'irregular' favorite is beef tar-tare. The strangest thing he's tried (and didn't like) was snake wine. He only choked it down at the insistence of Mr. Khan, one evening, having to feign an absence of utter disgust.

Jon Teach:

"Ahaha! Y'can eat most anything if ye fry it in enough butter and salt! The things ye can stomach, though, when the billfold's feeling a bit light and the fishin's been rough."

Mr. Khan:

Something he enjoys on a more regular basis is shark curry. He has tried sharkfin soup and birds nest soup, but prefers the greater substance in something like curry. The 'Strangest' thing he's ever consumed isn't something he'll put in his financial books. He has a taste for more 'exotic' meat. (Read: hard to obtain due to regulations or ethical concerns)

Firstly, Tony was looking into the murders when he was younger similar to canon and hes sure thats why he got attacked. and while he believes Evan is being truthful when he tells them who the muderer was, he also knows that neither william nor elizabeth couldve been the ones to attack him (liz is too young, she wouldve been way younger when he was attacked, and tony doesnt line up the voice of his attakcer with williams voice)

he doesnt 100% trust evan, but he knows he means well. hes not like sammy, who lashed out at evan and holds quite a grudge against him afterwards.

As for his relationship with gregory. they were close as kids and kind of grew distant when everything went down with gregorys family, but only for a short while. he knows how much gregorys family means to him, and he knows how much gregory misses his sister </3 they both HAVE feelings for each other but its complicated and neither of them are ready for a relationship and especially with everything going down gregory just doesnt have it in him. but theyre still super close.

hes also rooming with ellis! they share an apartment while tony does journalism classes. their relationship is... complicated. Ellis is still reckless and excitable, and sometimes he doesnt seem to take the situation as seriously as he should since he just has a tendency to mess around and joke around to lighten the mood a bit, but tony doesnt ever really confront him about this until its a genuine issue and its really starting to affect their relationship. and because hes never said anything, nobody really expects it? the most tony does is he runs off on a mission without tony. (but he also doesnt bring gregory for. reasons. ill explain in a sec. so nobody really notices it? the only people he brings are charlie and evan, and sammy tags along bc charlies there)

he deeply suspects vanessa not only is behind their father's murder, but also is connected to williams murders in a way. but ofc since shes gregorys sister hes not 100% sure how to bring it up (im trying to write smth about this but gregory characterization is. hard. how do i put that boy in situations) because of that, he doesnt bring greg along and plans to tell him when he has concrete evidence (and preferably a reason. he believes shell have a reason to be involved)

frankly, he hates michael. not to randomly bring up michael but ive thought a lot abt tony and mike. tony hates how michael just. drops evidence and leaves. similar to ellis, sometimes it feels like he genuinely does not care. and he also doesnt seem to be out for the full story, he just wants his dad gone which makes finding evidence incredibly difficult. when michael explains elizabeths story, tony uses that as a potential reason behind vanessa being involved as well. after all, if william can manipulate his daughter, whats stopping him from manipulating her?

he was the first one to join in on investigating the murders, actually. him and charlie started iit in the first place and so they are williams main targets. but unfortunately for him charlie is not only incredibly stubborn, but so are her brothers. and tony is NOT getting stabbed in a creepy mall again.

i thiiiiink thats all ive got? maybe? his arc with charlie and everyone is kind of seperate from the aftons' story simply because i think it works better that way <333

so, iirc the original creator of fluffytale is black-nyanko here on tumblr, and the story mainly focuses on ccino sans, who owns and works at a cat cafe with lots of lil kitties that bear suspicious resemblances to various sanses across the multiverse. this is amazing and wonderful and i love it dearly. however. as always, i would also like to think about the other characters.

so uh. what if, in fluffytale, each of the main cast specialized in a different critter? maybe taking care of non-magical animals has become a tradition underground, perhaps because mundane animals are simply more common in fluffytale, perhaps as a direct fuck you to all the humans who thought monsters were inherently evil and heartless, perhaps just because hehe kity.

anyways. heres the guys

sans takes care of kitty cats, and has even opened a cat cafe. obvs. same as og fluffytale

papyrus takes care of dogs, and is always either really good or really bad at training them. if no one can get your dog to stop being a lil menace, bring it to paps! he might just be able to help. it might not LOOK like helping, but chances are after putting papyrus through the ringer, your dog will return to you much calmer and less likely to act out.

gaster.... has some stuff goin on in the og that im not fully up to speed on, but i think he also used to take care of dogs. in fact, so did sans, but he also has a soft spot for cats, and understands that dogs and cats dont always mix. besides, papyrus is more than capable of handling the dogs.

undyne specializes in reptiles of all kinds, but typically cares for snakes and lizards. especially lizards, although snakes tend to be more popular with others. she claims it's just because she understands how to take care of scaly things, since she herself has scales, but anyone who's seen her interact with the royal scientist knows better.

speaking of alphys, she doesnt specialize in any animal per se (partially because she feels like she cant really properly look after any living thing after what happened with the amalgams OOPS) but instead builds terrariums and other habitats! she mostly ends up building stuff for reptiles, but also for fish and amphibians. she'd have to ask for a friend's help to build a proper habitat for cats or dogs though- they tend to need a lot more space, and they certainly aren't her specialty.

mettaton isn't really much of a pets guy- or at least, that's what he tells you. but he is clearly interested in more exotic pets that are often more difficult to take care of of- obviously because they're so unique and glamorous. not because he has a soft spot for anything different. unless you're friends, of course, in which case he's very open about how interesting he finds rarer pets.

napstablook still takes care of snails. just thought id mention them.

toriel takes care of all sorts of small things, namely bugs! snails too, and worms and such, but mostly bugs. she just thinks theyre neat! and tasty! ....and, chara was also rather fond of bugs.

asgore didn't originally intend to specialize in any type of animal pet- he was rather busy with his flowers, after all. but gardens tend to attract bugs, and bugs tend to attract birds- and, well, he kinda realized how much he loves the feathery lil guys. and they make so much noise too, the house is never quiet anymore. he can't bring himself to change the house's layout, but he has added lots of little bird cages and stands and feeders and such in and around the royal house, and birds can often be seen flying in and out of the windows. if you're ever lost in new home, just look up - you will likely see a bird flying to or from the royal house, which is in the center of the city.
