Favorite moment in the Battlefield City arc so far?

Also, do you have a favorite duel monster's card? Or a card that you think best represents you?

I have a lot, I can't pick one. So here are my top moments

the Pandora battle

I love the battle with Pandora, it reminded me of a Saw game with the high stakes and how one person survives at the risk of the other dying. Pandora's character is very intriguing and I'm kinda sad we never get to see more of him.

Also the implication that the cards themselves have emotions has never been bought up after this and I want them to bring it up again. Because I think there was this belief in ancient Egypt that if you complete a drawing it will have life or something along those lines- i heard about it back in elementary so take this with a kilo of salt. A lot of orthodox people share a similar belief that if you draw a image of a living being completely, you are disrespecting the Creator, so more often than not, there will be either a flaw or a small part will be left incomplete.

I'm sorry for the tangent but this battle really bought up some interesting implications regarding the aliveness of the cards in Duel Monsters

2. Yuugi and Yami

the relationship that these two share makes me want to crack my own head open (in a good way). They care about each and the y complete each other and ieiosdfjfjWI

they are very neat and if they ever get separated i will be crying

3. Yuugi and Jonouchi

these two also make me want to rip my head off but for other reasons. Yuugi brings out the best in Jonouchi and Jonouchi brings out the confidence in Yuugi and I love them so much!!

The battle that they had had me at the edge of my seat and it was so emotional and well written and it made me love them even more

4. Yami v/s Marik: Slifer the sky dragon

I do not have a picture of that but the strategy that Yami used is one of my favourites and it was excecuted very well

5. Yami Bakura and Marik Ishtar

This duo. I love them so much, Their back and forth is fun to watch

6. Shizuka giving the peace sign as she is being wheeled to surgery

Absolute baller move on her part. She is so adorable and definitely one of my favourite side characters

Also an honorary mention to Kaiba admitting that he made the Duel Disk System inflict psychological damage...for funsies??

Why would Kaiba put this there in the first place? What 10 year old out there needs to be traumatized this bad??

so far it is Dark Magician Girl!!

There is so much I like about her!! I love how you equip her with the Spellbook card to raise her stats as well as how she powers up with every magician in the graveyard. She has so much untapped potential its insane, can't wait to see her at her fullest!!

For personality I think I'm most like Kuriboh

It’s about reader who’s married and has a four year old daughter, but both of them are being abused by her husband.

One night, when her daughter got sick, she took her to the hospital to make sure she was okay. Coincidentally, that was the same night Jinwoo visited the hospital to give the Elixir of Life to Jinho’s dad.

Jinwoo, reader, and her little girl stepped into the elevator together. But then, the lights flickered and suddenly everything went dark. They were trapped inside the elevator.

The little girl started crying, scared of the dark. Let's say her father (reader’s husband) used to lock her in the bathroom whenever she misbehaved. She kept sobbing, “Mama, please! I’m scared! I was good, Mama, I didn’t do anything wrong!” Reader tried to calm her down (she was close to crying herself from watching her little girl broke down like that), but her daughter wouldn’t listen. She was too scared.

Then, Jinwoo suddenly did something with his magic (maybe he created a little orb of light with his mana) and crouched down to show it to her. He smiled, so gently, and asked, “Hey, you wanna hear a funny story?”

The girl sniffled and nodded.

“I have a friend who used to be a giant ant. Really scary. Sharp claws. Big wings. Thought he was the king of the world.”

The little girl looked at him, eyes still watery, but now curious. "Giant ant..?"

“Mm-hmm. But now he wears a tiny cape and thinks he’s a stage actor.”

Then Beru appeared—floating in the air, small enough to fit in Jinwoo’s palm—and dramatically declared: “Verily, ’tis I! Destined from the womb to smite all foes, conquer dungeons, and rule o’er all creation! And yet—oh, cruel twist!—I now spend mine hours painting yon royal sister’s fingernails! What devilry is this? From dark lord to dainty manicurist—fie, what a fall!”

The little girl giggled. “He talks funny.”

Jinwoo rolled his eyes. “He thinks he’s in a drama. But honestly, I think he just likes attention.”

The girl stepped closer, wide-eyed. “Is he your friend?”

“One of the best ones I’ve got.” He held out his fist. “Wanna bump?”

She did, bumping her small knuckles against his and Jinwoo smiled, gently patting her head. “And now you’re one of my best friends too.”

The girl smiled—like genuinely smiled—and reader wanted to cry because it had been months since she’d seen her little girl smile like that.

Not only because this ask is magnificent, and not only because I squealed when I read it, but because you sent it to me at 10:28pm on November 1st.

Anon, the fact that you couldn’t even last 24 hours into No Nut November before sending in an ask about No Nut November is absolutely perfect. And do you know why?

Because being unable to last 24 hours into No Nut November is exactly what would happen to Gale.

Truthfully, the hardest part of this ask was coming up with why in the hells Gale would ever agree to participate in NNN in the first place. In fact, I think he would be positively incensed at the very idea: “…an entire MONTH of abstaining from pleasures of the flesh?! Simply to prove that it can be done?! Well! I could chop off an arm and cast spells one-handed to prove that it could be done, but it’s hardly something I’d willingly partake in!”

However! For the sake of this fantastic ask, we’ll say that he was convinced and agreed to try.

But the real crux of the matter, and your actual question, is what Tav would do about this situation. And the truth is, I really don’t think Tav would even have to try hard (or uh…at all) to make Gale fail at NNN.

Picture this series of events with me, anon:

Gale waking up with Tav in his arms (or he in theirs)

Drinking in the sight of his beloved as he does every morning

Noticing that Tav’s nightshirt is unlaced, their shoulder and chest uncovered and in full view

Their leg draped over his, thigh fully exposed

Gale already uncomfortably hard due to it being the morning

Tav innocently shifting and repositioning themselves to snuggle closer, their leg brushing over his bulge

Gale doing everything in his power not to audibly moan, thoughts flooding his mind of how they’d made love in the morning just a few days past. Remembering Tav pulling him from sleep by riding him as though their life depended on it. Thinking of Tav’s thighs clamping around his midsection, and then around his head, the taste of Tav on his tongue as he—

Gale not rolling out of bed so much as falling out of it.

Apologizing profusely, frantically getting dressed in his teaching robes, giving Tav a chaste kiss on the forehead, and all but running out the door

Tav joining Gale for lunch at the Academy as usual

The faculty lounge being so crowded that Tav has to sit on Gale’s lap

Beads of sweat forming on Gale’s forehead as Tav blithely chats with the other Professors

Gale trying not to think about Tav’s perfectly shaped ass

Fumbling or dropping his fork every time Tav shifts slightly

Lunch ending with Gale looking as flushed and sweaty as if he’d just ran a marathon rather than sat for 45 minutes

Tav asking him if he’s okay and Gale reassuring them that he’s fine

Grateful that they cannot see his orb scar through his thick teaching robes, certain it is glowing blindingly bright purple

Kissing Tav goodbye, this time on the lips. Instantly realizing his mistake as the thought occurs to him that he could just dimension door them both into his private office, and—

Hastily breaking the kiss and telling Tav he hopes they have a good afternoon, he’ll see them this evening, he loves them

Spending the rest of the afternoon steeling his resolve

Barely able to pay attention to his class

Muttering to himself that it’s just 30 days! Surely that is surmountable! His bond with Tav is incomparable, they are tethered at the soul, their love goes beyond just the physical, even if that aspect is magnificent and life-giving and—

Ending class early when he realizes he’s mistakenly conjured Tav’s likeness when he was supposed to be channeling the Weave

Arriving home, escaping to the kitchen to start dinner, praying that Tav is busy elsewhere in the tower

Relieved to find a note that they will be home a bit later

Focusing on dinner preparation to the point that he doesn’t realize how much time has passed

Looking up to see Tav has arrived home. The air suddenly thick with their sweet musk

Gale, realizing from their glistening muscles, flushed cheeks and battle gear that they have been off doing their weekly practice at the local armory

Gale, completely mesmerized as a single bead of sweat rolls down their neck and over their heaving chest

Performing a quick spell with a single hand motion, changing the date on every calendar in the Tower. “I thought it was November 1st when we awoke this morning. My most humble apologies. It appears to actually be December 1st.”

Tav, their lips brushing Gale’s, laughing. “Oh? My goodness, November seemed to absolutely fly by.”

Gale, pulling Tav even closer, his lips brushing theirs as he whispers, “With any luck, December will feel like it lasts a lifetime,” before claiming their mouth with his own.

I cannot express to you how much I love your art!!!!!! It’s got like a certain crisp-cleanness that is literally everything what I want my style to be.

Quick question; how long does it take you to make a piece of art? Do you just go for it or do you sketch it out first?

Thank you for your question! Sorry the answer wasn't so quick.

It usually takes me from a few hours to a few days, depending on the art I'm making. If it's just a detailed sketch, it normally takes an evening (I'm more productive near the end of the day). Full-colored art with background takes at least two days, but I also like to just leave the almost finished drawing be for some time so I can return and finish it later. That helps me see my mistakes that I previously missed and generally take a fresh look at it. As for the process… I always start with a sketch. I might not always have a clear idea of what I wanna do, but it's much easier for me to figure it out as I go.

Also, I was making this art specifically for this ask and intended it to be just a colored sketch, but something went wrong, oops!

I had a fun (awful) idea and can't think of what to do with it, so I'm going to inflict it on you. (I mean this affectionately, please ignore this if you're not up for misery right now!)

Julian, while in the mirror verse with Kira, is subjected to some... very specific and harrowing torture. Except Kira never finds out about this. The only person who knows about what happened to him is Smiley, the mirror verse O'Brien, who helps keep him together. Julian thinks he can take this as yet another secret no one ever has to know, and reassures Smiley that even in his own sparkly nice universe this has happened to him before and he'll be fine.

Cue, a year or so later, Smiley dragging Sisko into the mirror universe, and during a little rant from Sisko about how sadistic Mirror Bashir is and how no one from HIS Starfleet would be so cruel even to an enemy, Smiley just scoffs and rolls his eyes and says "oh yeah, so what about your Doctor Bashir, huh? Who did that to him then, huh?"

Sisko returns to his own universe with the knowledge that not only was Julian Bashir assaulted and tortured a year ago and never said a single word to anyone about it, but that it was not the first time he'd endured something like that. Sisko has no idea what he's supposed to do with this knowledge, but he does watch Julian very, very closely afterwards, hoping for some hint or sign or tell that he can jump on to confront Julian and drag this out in the open, because if any of what Smiley said was true, Julian should have been given regular counselling before he even arrived on the station...

I can't work out how to have Sisko confront him and have some comfort happen, so as I said, I'm just inflicting this on you for fun.

Nonnie, this was absolutely delightful, thank you for inflicting this upon me!! I've had MANY thoughts, so putting this under a cut!

Ohhh, the idea Sisko being so protective over Julian but having to do it from afar gives me SO many feelings ❤️❤️❤️ The idea of him quietly watching Julian with this whole new perspective, and because he is observant, picking up on things he'd never noticed before (and wondering how he hadn't noticed them - maybe reflecting on his and Julian's time in Past Tense and spotting things there, too?)

But also, the fact that he'd be wondering if he's reading too much into what he sees, perhaps, or if what he's noticed is due to the torture a year ago, or the pre-DS9 "similar incident"...

I think Sisko would both be obligated to and want to ask Julian about the torture he experienced in the mirror universe, and why it went unreported. He'd be very gentle with it, but hopefully also firm that Julian needs to start having sessions with counsellor Telnorri. Julian's very stiff and wooden and factual about the whole thing - he knows the torture affected him, but he's repressed it for this long, and he's worried that he'll struggle to keep his secret if he's having this very similar torture poked at in counselling.

(But since Sisko is completely insistent - and Starfleet would be too, once he's amended his report - he has to go along with it, and just come up with a way to protect himself. During his first session, he ends up "confessing" to having nightmares of the mirror universe, "but it's happening to me in our universe, as a child. I know they're not real, but they've happened often enough that when I first wake up, it takes me a few moments to realise that."

Which Telnorri believes and assures him is a normal trauma response, and yep, it sure works as a good cover for times when he's getting emotional and panicky and slips into adigeon trauma rather than torture trauma, because whenver he now says something like "my parents", Telnorri will gently correct him with a "that was just dream, Julian". Julian has never been more grateful for Garak's lessons, not has he ever understood Garak's "the truth is in the lies" lesson so completely.)

Anyway - back to Sisko. He still has no idea what could have happened to Julian pre-DS9. He wonders if it could have been a mission gone wrong while he was a cadet, if this not-reporting torture is a pattern that Julian's done before - or even if it could have ended up being something classified, that Julian can't talk about... He can't find anything in Julian's records where that sort of thing would make sense, but it's the only way he can think of Julian ever being in a situation where torture was on the cards. He definitely doesn't believe that it was Starfleet, and the idea that Julian might have been a child - that it could have been his own parents - doesn't even occur to him.

Until Julian's parents arrive in his office. It takes him a couple of minutes to realise what he's seeing, because he still has the blind spot around child abuse, the firm notion that "parents = good!", but this Sisko has spent nearly two years taking note of Julian's body language and so this time, he spots how uncomfortable and distressed Julian is by his parents' sudden arrival, and is deeply disturbed.

He still wouldn't connect the dots straight away - noticing Julian's discomfort is a far cry from assuming his parents were responsible for his torture - but he does usher them out of his office fairly quickly, saying that he's sorry, but he needs to return to his meeting with Doctor Bashir and so Lieutenant Dax will find them quarters. And then he turns to Julian and asks him what's wrong, and Julian tries to tell him he's fine but that doesn't work because Sisko knows him, has sat with him through difficult times (most recently, post-prison-camp) far too often not to be able to tell that something's wrong.

But although Julian has come to trust and rely on Sisko with work-related trauma problems, he's too surprised and naturally cagey about his childhood to let Sisko in too much, even on a level of "my parents didn't treat me well". He gives him the most basic line that he gave Zimmerman - "We don't get along" - and asks to be dismissed. the rest of the episode happens pretty much as normal (although I think I'd like Sisko to head across to check on Julian later in the day, just at the right time to find him slumped against the wall outside his quarters after his fight with his parents.)

And when Julian's parents go to Sisko to try and sort out Julian's secret being exposed, the tension is palpable, his disdain for them eivident even through his self-restraint. And as he asks more questions abuot what the genetic engineering entailed - even though the Bashirs stick to a factual telling and wouldn't describe it as painful or hurtful, and definitely not as torture - a sinking feeling starts to grow in his stomach that this is the answer to the question that's haunted him ever since that day in the mirrorverse.

I haven't actually thought about what happens next - I keep skipping backwards and forward between other scenes and episodes this idea might impact because there are so many delicious ideas! - but hmmm. I think this Sisko would want to include Julian more in the discussion, but also not want him to spend any more time around his parents than he has to. He'd aks Julian to report to his office and ask the Bashirs to wait outside while he tells Julian about his idea to contact Admiral Bennet. Whicih Julian would be really reluctant about but Sisko says something like, "I don't want to lose you. Do you trust me?" and Julian replies "You really think you can change Starfleet's policy?" and Sisko's honest, with "Not their policy, no. But I think - and I can't make any promises - but I think I can persuade them to make an exception. Will you let me?"

And then it goes through pretty much the same way, apart form Sisko definitely doesn't let Julian alone with his parents at all, and once it's sorted asks Julian to go back to his quarters with him, giving Julian the time to decompress and process everything that's just happened.

Eventually - maybe not that day, but soon after - Sisko does ask him: "The genetic engineering - your time in hospital. From the way your parents described it, it sounded... very distressing." And bit-by-bit, Julian opens up about it and it's very much confirmed to Sisko that this must be the experience Smiley was referring to.

(In his first counselling session after this, before he's even touched on the hospital trauma at all really, Telnorri asks, "So, those recurring dreams you had about your parents - do you think the way they treated you as a child affected how easily you found yourself believing that dream." Which... is far more on the nose than he realises, and Julian breaks into slightly hysterical laughter, realising he's going to have to talk about how he's had dreams of his parents delivering him to the torture hospital for far longer than since his experience in the mirror world, and having it sink in even more how incredibly fucked-up this all is.)

Oh god, I think I'm going to stop there, but you have no idea how much more of this is in my head - just it's far too much for me to write down! Honestly, I've practically got half an AU sorted out of how this would affect their relationship and its so soft and I have no idea if I'll be able to get any more of it down on paper 😭 But thank you so much for this idea, it's ✨inspired✨.
