i wish people positively talked about teddie more because so much about his character is just. so so so sweet. like. he loves the investigation team so much. i feel the need to bring up how, upon seeing shadow rise prepare to probably kill the investigation team, his first instinctual response is to get between her and them - his LITERAL FIRST RESPONSE is to risk his OWN life for them. and the investigation team loves their little bear mascot so so so much also. like when teddie disappears in december the investigation team all talks about how he's their main morale and his optimism is a big motivator for them. teddie and the investigation team's friendship is what awakens teddie's persona, the narration for it says "the courage of heart required to support one's friends has been made manifest" instead of the usual "the strength of heart required to face oneself has been made manifest." teddie never fully accepts himself until december because he's still rejecting being a shadow - he doesn't need to because he knows his friends will support him no matter what. teddie's motivation for making his human form is for the sake of his friends - he admittedly specifically names the girls, but i think a lot of his attraction to the girls is a misinterpretation of platonic love.
just. teddie is so so so full of love. i FULLY headcanon that his human form is quite literally held together by love and friendship because those are such important aspects of teddie's character. it's really really sweet to me and it makes me so disappointed how often people just gloss over that stuff it is just. so so so sweet and cute and AAAAAAA I LOVE THIS STUPID BEARRRRR. it honestly makes me really happy that teddie has friends who love and support him so much,,,,,,,,, 🥹

Okay, so I wanted to talk about the N&Q sequels (Maybe possible prequel(s) from the list of N&Q games NAQtube has listed)
We don’t really know a lot about “Nebula and Quasar: Double Trouble” and even less about the others (Book of Stories and Break Out).
Maybe in development of Double Trouble, the story could be Quasar-focused, due to most of the art we see of DT having only Quasar present. Also the scrapped voiceline of Venex saying:
“After all is said and done, you still fight for the slightest hope that your SISTER’S ALIVE?!”
This could be referring to either Nebula and or Nova. If it was referring to Nebula, then it could lead credence to DT originally being a Quasar focused game (either Nebula goes missing/gets kidnapped, or is left out of action) which I feel would be fucking sick, as a Quasar fan lol.
Final release Double Trouble probably didn’t really bring anything interesting other than being a mediocre sequel with evil clones of N&Q as antagonists instead of Zeno.
Book of Stories could possibly be an RPG similar to either Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door or Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars. Possibly leaning towards something like Paper Mario. That theory was thought up by the person who has the N&Q finds doc, not a original idea lol
Breakout, well, it could be similar to the plotline of Skylanders: Trap Team of the villains escaping out of prison and it would be up to N&Q to put them back into jail. But that is just a theory based on the title.
Snyder wasn’t part of this project at the time, so maybe it would’ve been more lighthearted and less serious, or it could be a dark sequel as well.
If the whole N&Q franchise was real, I would definitely play the fuck out of it, and possibly Double Trouble. I like mature and more serious plot-lines, if that was DT’s plot. I’m already thinking of more mature HCs for N&Q, since I headcanon them to be young adults.
Nothing wrong with a lil angst here and there. Maybe if there is N&Q prequels, we’ll get some backstory on Nova, Nebula and Quasar’s family??

ymmv obviously this is just a take and half hc but i have to think abt how the wol fights or more specifically, who they fight with.
it always seems to transpire that for one reason or another, the wol fights a lot of their battles alone (in terms of npcs, obviously. you have other players but they're nebulously extant ingame). arr is a whole "throw the wol at the problem"-fest, it kind of doesn't even start to occur to people that "hey maybe sending them to fight this big bad alone isn't always a great idea" until like, stormblood. but even then, the scions and any other allies that are around are very often outright prevented from helping you for one reason or another.
frequently you're fighting a battle on multiple fronts, and there's no real option for them except to focus on their own fight and put their faith in the wol elsewhere. or they get taken away or left behind while you press on. then there's the fact that you're frequently fighting primals, which the majority of characters literally can't help you with for most of the game without jeopardizing their sanity. like, you have other people in the room with you when you fight a primal once, and it's actually a huge problem bc you and arenvald can't really focus on fighting when you're running back and forth trying to shield people from tempering. combined with the limited pool of people who are even on level with a primal in combat to start with, people who can actually assist you with those fights are few and far between.
but even beyond the material reasons! if there's a "canon" wol they're obviously someone who's almost comically obedient, but they do silently exercise agency on occasion... and it is almost exclusively to pick fights, usually alone. like, fucking zodiark. you get sent up to the moon, expecting to maybe fight, like, zenos, fandaniel, nope! the big guy himself. and the wol makes the active decision to not even phone home and say "hey, just so you know, i'm fighting the father of all primals, idk if there's time for you to get up here but. just so you're aware. just in case i cannot kill zodiark by my fucking self. that's what's going on on the moon right now." nah you just jump in there, no need to bother your friends, they're busy, you can take care of this one.
and then this obviously comes to a blatant head in ultima thule, where your friends all but say "we're prepared to sacrifice ourselves along with you if it means the world is safe" and the wol literally denies them that right. they pull the scions back from death and then send them away, and remain behind alone, fully aware they were facing a probably-unwinnable fight. (and i have a whole other fucking essay about the narrative ramifications of zenos' arrival in this context and others but. another time. this post is too long anyway) my point being that's one of the most blatant moments of pc agency and it's to remove others from a battle and stay behind alone.
idk i think a canon wol trait is a fixation on their own sacrifice, a desire to put themself in harm's way because otherwise someone else might do it and that's intolerable. and the narrative often conspires to validate them on this. and it's. interesting? i'm rotating it.
#the nemesis speaks#swift plays ff14#sorry non ff14 players for textwall rip#anyway again. obviously this is a thing that can be not true abt your own wol#and it is partially hc. BUT. i think beyond what i have in mind for shana's personality#there is a case to be made abt the wol canonically not just being self-sacrificing but wanting to stop others from doing the same#regardless of what those people actually want.#ffxiv spoilers#endwalker spoilers#WHOOPS I FORGOT SORRY

Crime and Punishment Warrior Cats AU
Okay, so for organizational purposes, I'm going to make a list of characters I'm going to keep in the AU, then a list of characters I'm not keeping and why. Obviously, when translating this story into the warrior cats universe, there are going to be things that just don't fit. (btw ✅ means I've finished their ref sheet and successfully turned them into a kitty cat.)
Raskolinikov ✅
Pulkheria Alexandrovna ✅
Avdotya Romanovna (despite her and her mother living in a different place than Raskolnikov, I'm going to omit that from this AU, since they end up coming to St. Petersburg anyways, and warrior cats characters basically stay in the same place for their whole lives.) ✅
Razumikhin ✅
Alena Ivanovna (Moneylenders don't exist in warriors so I'll need to figure out a different reason for why Raskolnikov would have been doing business with her and for why Porfiry Petrovich originally began to suspect Raskolnikov.)
Lizaveta Ivanovna
Marmeladov (I think I'm gonna make it so he ran away from the clan, like how Marmeladov in the book ran away from his family?)
Katerina Ivanovna
Sofya Semenovna ✅
Polya, Lenya, and Kolya (they will be kits and the same age. No way a cat had three separate single babies loll)
Svidrigaylov (He will be from another Clan. I need to figure out how and why he would come to the clan Raskolnikov lives in, and how Dunya could have gone to live with him. Maybe by bending the Warrior Code in my universe to make it more common for cats to move clans like how people irl can move cities...? Idk yet)
Marfa Petrovna
Peter Petrovich (same deal with Svidrigaylov; he will be from a different clan)
Lebezyatnikov (tbh he only stays because he was important for one scene LMAO)
Zosimov (He will be the medicine cat, obviously :3)
Porfiry Petrovich (He will be the clan deputy; I want him to hold some power in the clan, but not enough that he'd be able to exile Raskolnikov without having to prove he was the murderer. I still dk who the clan leader will be...)
Nikolay and Dmitri (will just be regular warriors that just so happened to see Raskolnikov at the crime scene.)
The rest of the characters I add will just be NPCs to fill out the clan. Maybe I'll base some of their personalities on the characters I left out. The left out characters are:
Raskolnikov's landlady (whose name I wouldn't even remember if it weren't listed at the end of the book) and Nastasya. As much as I liked Nastasya, there's no real reason to keep the landlady character in the AU at all, since landladies don't exist in Warriors. Like I said above, I may keep Nastasya as a background character, maybe just some concerned cat who comes to check in on Raskolnikov from time to time. Though I can't really think of a reason for why she would do that unless it were her job.
Natalia Egorevna. The only purpose she served in the book was that Raskolnikov was going to marry her in exchange for living in Zarnitsyna's apartment or whatever it's called. Dostoevsky had his reasons for including this, I'm sure, but I don't see it as all that important and it just doesn't make sense for Warriors. RIP.
Amalia Ivanovna. Another landlady. Again, I might keep her as a background character, but the only role she'd fill is stirring up trouble at Marmeladov's vigil and pissing off Katerina Ivanovna so bad she loses it.
Kapernaumov. He literally doesn't even speak once in the book. Does anyone care that I'm not including him?
Zametov, Nikodim Fomich, and Ilya Petrovich. They can all be condensed into one character, which is Porfiry. All the police station scenes can be changed so that it was Porfiry he was talking to instead. They serve their purpose in the book so that Porfiry would be suspicious of Raskolnikov without them having to meet face-to-face yet, but I can change things around to fix that. Maybe Raskolnikov goes to see the leader instead, and the leader wouldn't be suspicious but Porfiry is. Or I can just say the part where Raskolnikov meets him for the first time in the book isn't the first time in the AU, because why would Raskolnikov not know the clan deputy, at least as acquaintances?
OK rambling over! If no one reads this but me, that's fine, as I'm mainly keeping this so that I know who to make ref sheets for. Esp since I'm going to have to return my copy of Crime and Punishment to the library soon LOL. If anyone has suggestions for names or ways I can change characters and events to fit better into the Warriors universe, please tell me! :D

Yeah, it does worry me, because this is literally 5-year-old behavior. Small children react viscerally to fictional media, often behaving as if that thing happened in the real world in front of them, because they have not developed to a point of being able to fully parse the difference between not just fiction and reality, but also the Self and Others. That's why toddlers take everything personally, all the time.
People can generally have whatever opinions on a piece of fiction they want, but grown-ass adults or even teenagers should not still be interacting with media as if whatever it depicts was happening to a real person, which is what I see from this specific brand of entitlement. Being able to parse the difference between fiction and reality is the #1 way our brains cope with upsetting suggestions from not only media, but also our own imaginations, and it's really unhealthy to not have developed that ability.
Some of this flavor of bullcrap is just pure entitlement, of the garden-variety you see from people raised with it, but being autistic myself I do wonder if some of it isn't also a case of Hyper-empathy* not being managed well. I experience Hyper-empathy, and I will say that as a result of it I absolutely do have certain fictional characters that I feel very, very strongly about, and I can absolutely get very upset when they're depicted "wrong" or done dirty by canon. But because I am self-aware of how my brain works, and because I was taught discernment, I know that these feelings don't entitle me to "ownership" of other people's characters, and that I need to take responsibility for my own wellbeing by disengaging from things that cause me anxiety.
I feels to me like some of these people might be having a similar experience, but they were either never taught to manage their emotions, and/or they've taken modern concepts like "comfort characters" too far and have come to believe this excuses their feelings of ownership and entitlement. Which is yet another example of why teaching kids critical thinking and coping skills to deal with upsetting things they might encounter in media is important.
*hyper-empathy is the experience of having an over-sensitive (compared to most people) empathy response, and it's often seen alongside autism, ADHD or other neurodivergent conditions. people with hyper-empathy often have visceral, physical empathetic responses that can cause high levels of stress or anxiety, and may also experience empathy in 'inappropriate' contexts, such as towards inanimate objects.
not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead
Making a comment to get this to post.

pardon the Hot Take™ but i think the tiered level design classic sonic is so well known for only really works so well because the increased emphasis on momentum and the feeling of weight over more responsive and snappy controls prevented them from just having one route that accomodates all playstyles like mario games do. i'm not saying the classic sonic games are sluggish or that the tiered level design is a cop-out - far from it, i appreciate the unique gamefeel that classic sonic has, and i also fully admit that the reason i don't prefer it as much as the alternative is mainly because i'm not very good at it! i just think that those games made some sacrifices to achieve their weightier gamefeel, and that the tiered level design is a clever solution to the problems that posed and should be appreciated as such
#sorry for the mild textwall i was just playing a game and having some thoughts#(the game in question is Help! No Brakes)#(which you should definitely play because it's deceptively fun and also free on itch.io)#i think this might be part of why i like srb2 so much#since its level design is closer to a mario game in this particular respect

I've always been impressed by your ability to analyse media. Your understanding of characters, dynamics, themes have always blew me away, and it's even more impressive how you always find ways to communicate it so elegantly in your artworks. And being able to pick up on these complexities seems to have made engaging with media extra fulfilling for you.
I love seeing this kind of literary depth in fandoms, but I have the media literacy of a brick and have always had to rely on other people's analyses or takes to even begin understanding on that level. I was wondering if you know how you do it, or how anyone can learn to do it really.
btw thank you for always making such lovely art, hope you have a nice and fun year.
close reading is a skill, and like any skill it's something you can develop with effort!! the more you engage and think about a piece of work (and libraries of works) the more you'll get out of it
analysis at its core is inquiry and evaluation... when you're engaging the text ("text" here meaning the work itself whether it's literal text, artwork, movies, games, etc.) try breaking down ur thoughts:
what does the text want to say? -> what does the work want to accomplish? does it instill a narrative, a message, a feeling? teach a lesson? does it ask you a question? does it set up and fulfill or subvert expectations?
how does the text say it? -> what literary/visual techniques did the creator use to convey #1? what were you told versus what were you shown? what was implied vs explicated? does the work favor certain types of techniques or recurring motifs? are they aligned with specific characters or moments or themes?
how did you receive it? -> did the text succeed in conveying #1 via #2 to you? did it hit the mark, and to what degree? if it didn't: why not? if there's disparity between what the text seems to want to say and what you got from it--why and how?
there's so much more to analysis (e.g., for example, applying this framework to a text in context to history, or current events, or the genre; accounting for bias, on the part of the author or the reader; etc. etc.), but as a basic framework this might help to think about the text in large scale (the work as a whole) and then narrow it down (breakdown an arc in the story--a specific character's story--an individual moment in the story--etc).
i also think it's important to sit with a text and formulate ur own initial thoughts on it first before looking for other people's opinions! then you can read others' analysis too to see where it aligns or diverts from yours, what you agree or disagree with, what takeaways might change or enhance your own reading of the text. and then you can get RIGHTEOUSLY indignant when they dont understand ur blorbo the way you do
sorry for textwall HAHA but the more you practice close reading, the easier it gets to identify tropes and literary & artistic devices, and as your mental catalog expands, i think it'll become more fun to identify, compare and contrast what works/stories really resonate for you...! it's wonderful as a creator too, because you can reverse engineer that framework when you're telling your own stories ✨

what’s your opinion on Leucothea?
First of all: 💙💜💙 That's such a lovely question, thank you so much, because... *sigh* I am missing Leucothea in EPIC so badly (of course I understand the need to cut corners to keep the narrative concise)!
Mainly because her part in in the Odyssey keeping Odysseus safe from Poseidon's wrath was always a bit funny for me. Just Poseidon's reaction to seeing Odysseus abandoning his ruined raft dressed in Leucothea's veil! He goes shaking his head at it like 'ah whatevs, you'll face enough pain anyway, why bother' and just goes back to his own business... 😂 ... bit anticlimactic. (I strongly imagine WolfyTheWitch's Poseidon with that xD)
But! Leucothea!
She's supposed to be protector of mariners after all, but from what I remember her backstories/myths sum up to "no good deed goes unpunished", I'll try to put them below, but I'm not an expert.
So - you asked, and I did a gigaton of research into the sea goddesses :)) but it's all myth and hard to pic out facts for a non-historian like me with limited sources, so here's the bits that stuck. Which is still a lot. Sorry, textwall incoming. 🙏🙇♀️🙏
I just love how myth and lore transforms with the cultures they belong to and I live and breathe for tidbids from the bronze and iron age! Here you go:
As Ino, she'd be fostermother to Dionysos punished by Hera via proxy (driving her husband mad) for helping the child, and casting herself and her son into the sea as last resort. Both were made deities of the sea, protecting the sailors (her) and harbors (her son, mainly Corinth as far as I could discern, worshipped as Palaemon).
I also remember a temple where Poseidon was worshipped alongside Leucothea and Palaemon, which is quite and interesting parallel to the phoenician trias of gods (father, mother, son) that you could know from a wide range of biblical texts maybe as Baal/Astarte/their offspring. (And that part is tremendously interesting because Astarte transformed into the greek godesses Aphrodite and Artemis, as well as the egyptian Isis, and was a goddess of sexuality, fertility, war and the hunt, protector of mariners again and associated with horse and chariot). These cults died with the Bronze Age collapse, or were overtaken and transformed by other religions.
But back to backstories: As Halia, she'd be Poseidon's wife, and again the punishment by madness theme strikes here: her relatives are driven mad by an Olympian (this time Aphrodite) and lost.
Her name meaning 'saltwater'. And that I find really interesting because, with Poseidon being a storm god, is a big parallel back to the myths of Tiamat (saltwater ocean in which the land was born) and Abzu (cosmic sea of sweet water - the sky ocean aka the god of storms and rains and atmosphere) from ancient Babylon, who created the whole of land and sky in their union.
Tiamat (as wild, untamed nature) was later fought by Marduk, a male god and cultural hero, representing the triumph of human culture over primal chaos, but also patriarchal society over matriarchally led tribal society.
In my fic I tried to incorporate Leucothea Halia's aspects into Amphitrite, her being an ancient saltwater goddess, a 'white goddess' in appearance with lots of silver and reflective scales and eyes, association with white birds and bright sunlight.
And lastly, because I loved the question so much: What's your ideas about her? :) Would love to hear 💙✨🙏

So while I was distracted with school, this very cool awesome artist (Szkin) reblogged my lancer mech, Word of Law, and it started doing some numbers.
I didn't realize 3D art that wasn't character art had general appeal, and cause i never participated in the tumblr art community until recently (indeed I didn't really use tumblr) I held in my heart that I would never live out my dream of having art mutuals. NOW I HAVE ONE YAYAYAYAY JUMPING UP AND DOWN !!
Why am I reblogging this? Because while I was working on the prototype for Word of Law, I saw this piece by them and in retrospect I think it stuck in my brain, because I (albeit while unawares) used the same ewar-suite detail they did with their Volos design! Glowing ring and all!
My platform is very small, but you should check out their stuff if you like lancer or mecha more generally (Their mecha designs are very crunchy, love them). Their non-lancer, non-mecha stuff is also very good and I especially like their usage of color in their more ambitious pieces, and the worldbuilding that's integrated with their personal work.
That's all for now! Thanks to everyone who looked at my stuff and left a like or reblogged it, and a big thanks to Szkin, I'm genuinely really chuffed to be recognized by such a cool artist :D
The VDL Volos is a Witch-class electronic warfare specialist chassis developed by the Sparri Volsung Clan from SSC's successful Swallowtail line. To match the considerable range and sensor power of the Swallowtail E-War Suite while maintaining a lower profile, the Volos makes use of a distinctive, externally carried OATHBREAKER Projection Rig, coincidentally resembling a shamanic stave.

hello ms. speremint ma'am! thank you so much for brimstone and roses, i've reread the whole thing because of the finale and it's not only very very good but it also made me reflect about many things in my own life and might've been the final push i needed to get out of a situation similar to bea's at the start of the comic. haven't summon a demon tho.
that being said, i'm actually sending this ask because i was curious regarding some things post-finale. does bea now call laz bradley full time? is laz a bit of a pet name that links to how they met or is it uncomfortable because it reminds him of his time in hell? did he eventually remember everything or will some things remain fuzzy forever? does he remember running into alex in hell? if so, did he tell bea about it? does ms ginger remember her life as 17 or is her mind full cat now? and after she dies, does her soul go to the same place as regular cat souls (wherever that may be)? did bea's parents ever find out where she actually met her husband? and a last one: is alex's mom ok? i was actually hoping (though not really expecting) they'd get some kind of closure, but i guess he never even found out how much she misses him, which was the saddest part in the comic for me.
sorry for the huge textwall! i just have been rotating the comic in my brain and the mind microwave just won't stop beeping lol
Hey hey! Honestly I'm happy to hear that! I wrote Bea's initial situation when I was still in college and kind of fretting about not knowing what was next for me, and I think that's really common tbh.
To answer your questions!
Bea still calls Laz Laz, I think. It's probably just habit, and when asked, they both just say it's his middle name.
Laz probably remembers more and more snippets of his past (more specifically his time on Earth with Bea) as time passes. The ending is meant to insinuate that some of his memories have started returning regardless, but to him, it's the future that now matters most.
He probably doesn't remember Alex much. It wasn't super notable to him since he doesn't remember exactly who that demon was, just that his vibe was rancid.
Ms. Ginger is still very smart and much more sentient than a regular cat. She's just no longer magical and immortal, something she is remiss to realize.
Her "soul" will return to the Warden as part of them.
That's a really good question about Bea's parents. In truth, I think Bea, Laz, Sofia, and Evelyn get together and make an ACTUAL backstory that's much more plausible, they just cut out all the demon crap. So basically a slightly less deranged background than what Bea paints in the beginning of the story.
Alex's mom is definitely not okay. It's a hard moment of grief that she suppresses and has no real support system for. I'm sure she'll heal in time, but she completely cuts Bea out of her mind after Alex's funeral and the cover-up of his death. They wouldn't be friends, is what I'm saying.
Thanks so much for the questions! I hope that I answered them okay, and I'm so glad you liked BnR, I'm really happy to answer these lol

Aeri (@enchantedmirage) innocently sent me a funny nui video ft izumi and makoto. And I ended up writing a textwall ranting about izumi (Number 1 most misinterpreted knights member to me) and makoto (Number 1 most misinterpreted Trickstar member to me). hiii just here to say I LOVE your comic about esugar losing her wings. it's so interesting !! shadowsugar my beloved...
-🌸🌊
omg thank you so much!!! I'm so glad how well my comic about them is being received, I genuinely didn't think it would be. Over 1000 notes?? You guys are incredible <3
As already mentioned in the post, I got the idea after the update trailer dropped and people found Shadow Milk- I mean, the Lady in Azure in the title card. And with the theory, about Hollyberry pulling a Burning Spice and ripping out Eternal Sugar's wings, that was going around, I just had to draw this. (Even tho I didn't believe that Hollyberry would do such a terrible thing. But that didn't stop me from making this comic anyway >:)
Also I think it's incredible how even after the update and what happened in Chpt. 10 (with Eternal Sugar x Hollyberry being basically canon, at the very least one-sided if not actually mutual), so many people still like and accept ShadowSugar, myself included, since even I kinda doubted the ship after finishing the story. But seeing how many are still on board with it, these doubts were gone immediately, so thank you and everyone else very much for liking my comic about these two :3
(also just to clear misunderstandings, I like HollySugar too. I personally just prefer ShadowSugar)
Sorry for the giant textwall to answer this, it's the first time ever I received a compliment through an ask. ^^'

Hello! I'm actually a new fan-- I founded one of your bot in c.ai when I was bored and searching for SCPs bots. I just want to say that your bots are one of the most realistic in-characters I ever played-- literally my absolute favourites!! I feel upset that I didn't found you earlier 💖 Idk if you make requests or not...but I'll just ask-- (feel free to reject :"D) may I request for Isaac Watchorne? It's a character from SCP Sedition, better known as Watch ig. I really love the character a lot and have quite a lot of stories in mind...it just, I haven't found a bot of him :"DD since you make such good bots, I just thought to be brave and ask. Hope you don't mind! Have a great day 💖💖💖 keep creating :3
Hello! Thank you so much for warm words, darling, and I'm so sorry I have to disappoint you: right now I'm extremely busy at work, barely have any time to draw or even show up online: here and on discord
But I'll take a note. I remember that I gotta catch up with some new c.ai updates + make a Dr. Glass bot as soon as I've got a couple of days off, tough the closest are in May
Meanwhile, could you link me your favourite parts of Isaac's lore, quotes + some basic info that would help me to get to know this character? ;¬> I've never heard of him and, honestly, you made me curious
Feel free to textwall here or make a post and ping me
Have an amazing day! 🫂

I often think about 80s ford, such an individual such a personality….His character growth makes me shed tears….peak. I’m happy for him, I’m happy he got what he yearned for ….human connection.people who understand him…closure… A powerful moment is when ford also feels relieved when he sees his family laughing at bill’s book. I would think that he could’ve finally let go of the shame of being abused, and that his family still loves him, I melted at that group family picture with ford. I still think about this often, how ford’s “I need to save the world so I have to kill bill” is probably rooted from his self hatred of himself for being tricked, so he feels like he has to make up for his big sin by sacrificing himself and himself alone with no one else on his way so they don’t get harmed. This hurts because ford probably wouldn’t let any other person get estranged by this same mindset, but allows himself to be,because deep down he always feels like a freak who needs to make up for his underlying defect. At first he did this with his grades, then academics, research and post portal he made up by sacrificing himself for revenge. I love ford I love him.
sorry for the textwall
dont be sorry . im literally guy number 393848430 that would write a wall of text for ford
i think the moment in the show that shows off the whole "hed put himself in a dangerous situation to kill bill but wouldnt let anyone else do so" is when dipper and mabel say they'll distract bill so him and stan can escape and he immediately yells that it's a suicide mission. idk if he even had any hope at all that he'd survive killing bill or even if he wanted to. cause what would he do after that anyways? he lost everything, he's stuck homeless in the multiverse, he could try to settle down, but could he?
ofc thats not what happened and he got home and bill is gone and he can infact live a life now even after having lost the life he'd earned decades ago but i think even then it's difficult to not only make peace with any idea that he was a victim but that he himself never achieved his goal of killing bill by himself and therefore never "fixed his problems" or "made up for his mistakes/existence/etc." i think for a whole there theres a lot of inner turmoil from that.
it always bothered me that fords need to be a "hero" or the one to kill bill was treated as something that's egotistical when really the need for that level of revenge is majorly suicidal and rooted in the self hatred and need to make up for himself you described he's had for his whole life.
#sorry this got away from me i just havent had much of an excuse to talk ab this specific thin.g. oh well.#it is in fact! my blog.#ask
