But I also believe it’s important to speak up about these experiences and to hope for a future where opportunities are based on merit, not nationality. It feels like no one cares that millions of educated, peace-loving Russians are stuck here, trapped in a situation we never chose and don’t support. Many of us have spoken out, taken risks, and tried to make a difference, but our voices are drowned out by assumptions and hate.

We’re frightened not just for ourselves, but for the future we’re losing, for the connections that are breaking, and for the world that now seems to see us only through the lens of our nationality. We’re isolated, cut off, and yearning to be part of a world that values peace and understanding over division. This isn’t just about politics; it’s about people. People who want nothing more than to live, create, and contribute without fear or prejudice.
