I like that this blog exists so here's something: when i was around 17 I went to a botanical garden/trail and there was a lotus pond there. It was winter so it wasn't blooming. There was an old dried lotus pod so I took it. Technically I stole it lol there was a rule against doing it. But I saw it and i was transfixed by it. I have always felt so deeply whenever i looked at a lotus flower and I never really had a clear reason as to why. Plus over the years I've always had visions of Yunmeng but had no idea what it was. Imagine how mad I was when i finally bit the bullet and read mdzs HAHA. I knew it was a source because I'd been getting visions of the cloud recesses for years too but that at least I knew for sure was from "those books" all my friends were into. All I knew about them was that I was fixated on the guy with the forehead ribbon. It was an infatuation that i ignored and didnt take seriously. My friends would talk about "hanguang jun" and I would play along like a fanboy for a joke while ignoring how excited i got when i said his name. I think deep down i didnt want to be who I actually am. I was hoping to be anyone else. Eventually i made peace with it though. All of the symbols of that book are things that have populated my life. The rabbits, the lotus flowers, the chickens, the pork, the lovehate relationship with vegan food, the music, the moon and the sun, the corpses, the black clothes, the ethereal beauty. Fuck even little apple. I still have that lotus pod. It's on my bookshelf. I'm not mad anymore that it was Yunmeng I was seeing in my head. Maybe a little melancholy but how am i supposed to help that. Mostly I just crack myself up.

wild to me when ppl claim that Jaime killed Aerys for the sake of TYWIN like. he does not care about that man. when Genna was like ‘sorry for ur loss’ he thought she meant his hand. if Aerys had threatened Tywin alone, instead of a whole city…. i’m gonna be real i don’t know if it would’ve been enough to drive Jaime over that edge. he could well have let it happen. so whilst I think the ‘he did it for Tywin’ take already demonstrates a general bad faith approach to the Kingslaying thing, it’s also just…. idk such a fundamental misunderstanding of the whole Jaime/Tywin relationship, and Jaime’s broader relationship w his house. bc Jaime is so extremely emotionally divorced from his father, in a way Cersei and Tyrion never have been. they are obsessed with his approval, with his world view, with his legacy, and Jaime cannot make himself care. i think the interesting thing is that w the Lann siblings, you’ve got Cersei destroying their house from the inside, Tyrion coming back to destroy it from the outside, but Jaime literally just abandons the whole business. and this has always been Jaime’s story. he is much more interested in the world beyond House Lannister, whilst his siblings are paralysed by their obsession w it.

About G3 Nefera... I get so annoyed when people hate on her just because she's nice to Cleo.

We rarely get healthy sister duos in animation (or at least I don't notice many).

Furthermore, I never really understood what was so 'iconic' about Nefera aside from her clothing.

Does she have personality-developing lore in the diaries/books? Because in the show and movies (which is what I had access to a child and no I'm not gonna read them now, I have enough books in my waitlist as is) she's very spoiled and just downright mean.

Not "evil for the sake of evil", like Big Jack Horner.

Not a nuanced mean girl, like Kady Heron.

Just a genuinely mean girl and a poor sister. On Cleo's end it was a sibling rivalry, on Nefera's end? She straight up HATED Cleo at times, it seemed.

'Boo York Boo York' was one of Nefera's most significant and worst roles. It solidified my disdain for her. There's nothing wrong with preferring G1 Nefera, but why scorn G3 for... giving her a better relationship with her sister?
