Aww yisssssss my first fanfic for Arsenal Military Academy is here! It's a rewrite of episode 22 (after the chase in the wood, during the time Xie Xiang and Shen Junshan get admitted to the hospital and Gu Yanzhen coming back to Shunyuan).

As Jin Xianrong leaves her room, Xie Xiang feels a relieved smirk creeps upon her face as she breathes out. Finally.

Both Jin Xianrong and her don’t like each other much. It’s kinda weird that she has visited her today. Xie Xiang always has a feeling that there is something strange with Jin Xianrong and despite her smiles and friendly words, she definitely thinks of Xie Xiang (or Xie Liangchen for that matter) as a thorn in her side. For what reason, Xie Xiang doesn’t really know.

She lifts her injured right wrist and stares at it. Right after she got shot in the leg, she had sprained her wrist as well. How lucky. Still, it is better than to get shot somewhere on her upper body.

Xiaojun enters her hospital room, carrying a set of three metal food containers. She looks back at the door with a confused expression before turning her head to smile at Xie Xiang.

As Xie Xiang pushes herself up, Xiaojun puts the containers on her nightstand.

“I just saw Jin Xianrong outside.” Xiaojun helps her up. “Why did she come over here?”

“She was just being concerned.” Xie Xiang says as nicely as she can.

“Definitely crocodile’s tears.” Her best friend retorts.

Gu Yanzhen’s eyes snap to her, Shen Junshan seems to be forgotten in his mind right after that. He quickly glares at the other man before rushing over to her bed.

Behind Gu Yanzhen, Shen Junshan’s face turned concerned but he leaves anyway, probably not wanting to make the tension in the room even worse.

"Are you okay?" Gu Yanzhen asks her, holding her shoulders firmly but still gentle enough to not hurt her, looking left and right for the source of distress.

“I’m alright, don’t worry.” She reassures him, treading lightly just to understand their situation first. “It’s just my wrist.”

She raises her right arm up, which is wrapped up in white bandages, for him to see.

Unexpectedly, he takes her hand in his to examine closer, a frown appears on his face as if he were the one to get hurt and not her. He turns it up and down with such tender gestures that she almost forgets to take her hand back.
