Kyana was pumped for her first mission. She felt ready. It may have been a simple scout mission but it was in dangerous possible enemy territory so she had to be ready for anything.

She however felt like she was being watched. It made her nervous and tense up and carefully she worked her way around to catch this stalker. Seeing her chance, she leaped at them and tackled them on the ground, only to see-

"Kaito!?! What are you doing here?"

Kaito didn’t think Kyana joining the ANBU was a good idea, especially with him having joined long enough to know how dangerous it was. Kyana was the more spontaneous one of their team, fitting for her fire chakra nature, so was he surprised that she even passed the ANBU recruitment exams, and was worried her recklessness at times could put her in danger.

He underestimated her though, because despite him tailing her stealthily as possible, she did notice and tackled him to the ground, Kaito was so caught off guard that his mask fell off to reveal his face to her. “Hey Kyana, I’m just going in the same direction haha…” he lied in greeting on instinct, then sighed more at himself than her.

“Sorry, Kyana. I was just worried about you, so I followed you just in case. The fact that you noticed me while on this scouting mission means I really have nothing to worry about. That’s my bad,” he apologised while admitting how he underestimated her, he should have more faith in his teammate after all.

“Can’t you see... why don’t you look at me...” Elizabeth sang in a whisper and hummed, walking down a street with restaurants and small stores on either side. Making her way past a block lined with houses similar to her own, she glanced at a cat from the corner of her eye and slowed her walk, turning her head to better survey the cat.

Huh. I’ve never seen a cat that color before.

Another day, another festival in Liyue. Liên sat on a concrete block behind a table on which sat various bowls and utensils. Next to her was a large pot suspended over a fire set on some logs of wood, filled with a brown stock, in which sat rice noodles, slices of rare beef and blocks of chicken breast, and cuts of white onion, coriander, and cloves; dots of ginger also floated around. “Brrr.”  Liên leaned over and held her hands by the sides of the pot, keeping her eyes up towards the center of the square. I wonder if there will be anything different about this one compared to last time...

Italy, spring of 1943. On the eastern coast of Italy lay the town of Termoli, just in front of the Volturno Line. At the marina one night German and Italian Fascist troops could be seen running around as trucks rolled into the supply depot and ships docked at the piers. Searchlights lit up the sky and the houses and buildings of the town, which were mostly vacated at this point. Overlooking the town were some hills dotted with trees and bushes. Here Arthur set up his camp, with a tent over a table on which sat some maps and documents, as well as a Welrod pistol. Nearby stood a box with a Lee-Enfield rifle and a STEN sub machine gun, and magazines and clips for the three weapons. Earlier that day he’d written a letter to Selene:

From now on it’s best that we meet in person before you take on any objectives. Meet me in the hills south of Termoli tonight at 2200 hours. I’ve got a fire set up.

Arthur checked his watch. “It doesn’t hurt to be a little early, Selene…”

It’s by pure accident that he runs across the hilichurl camp; his weekly walk around Galesong Hill bringing him to the larger than usual camp with high towers and archers patrolling the said towers-- yet before he can make a decision whether he should take care of them or let an adventurer earn their bread the hilichurls sound an alarm and the choice is taken from him.

A quick peek over the edge of the cliff grants him the sight of the adventurer currently fighting the horde and oh-- he knows that person! 

With a surprised but eager grin the bard leaps down from the cliff, using his powers to soften his landing while materializing the bow into his hands; the familiar weight of it making a pleasant shiver run down his spine as he spins around with his back towards the pyro user.

“Mind if I give you a hand?”

Kyana blushed darkly and embers seemed to pop around her body before dissolving into ash. "R-Really? I um, I feel the same about you."

Kaito expected Kyana to at worst appreciate his compliment and politely tell him that she didn’t feel the same way, so her answer came as a complete shock to him.

“R-really? I’m flattered Kyana...” Kaito replied, blushing just as bad that his sweat from his nervousness formed snow from his subtle lack of control of his powers, so quickly wiped it against his attire to cover it. 

“So, what now? Would you like to uhm, go on a date sometime?” he asked, honestly he never got this far with a girl before. Then again they did hang out a lot on and off work as Marines, so it shouldn’t be too different he hoped, just now their feelings towards each other were out in the open.

Aizawa had invited his girlfriend over for a nice night in. There was no special reason other than he just wanted to enjoy her company. It had started to know outside so it was all the more romantic in his eyes. 

“I’m glad. That was the whole point of all this so I’m glad it’s working.” He said.
