KAIJUMORPHA AU OVERVIEW:

what is the au about and what are kaijumorphs?

Kaijumorpha au is an anthological Alternate universe that is primarily based on creature features, folklore, and me brainrotting over creature aus. The main central point of the au are those called kaijumorphs, humans with monstrous or pokemon like traits, that have been as old as when humans have been around in the pokemon universe.

In the Au, kaijumorphs can come in three different forms, these being demihumans, werebeasts, and Therus(working on the name).

Demihumans humans with Pokémon-like traits that are based on the type the person has birth (like dragon types having draconic/dinosaurian features and flying types having feathers or a patagium.)

( for example, my sada design.)

the next are werebeasts, and as their names imply, they are humans who can transform into a more monstrous version of an animal/Pokémon if given certain stimuli (the moon, sun, fight or flight etc). the amount of Sapience someone had in their werebeast form is based how many times the person has been used to the form (like the first few times, the person is nothing more than a feral beast but a few more times they become used to it).

I don’t have a picture for this but think of the werebeasts from the sonic freaks au as an example.

The final category of these kaijumorphs are the mythical Therus. mostly bestial beings considered to be the “legendaries” among both humans and animals (oh yeah, animals exist in the au btw). This group are most than not, artificially created via either human hubris or fusing human and pokemon. Therus are able to transform back into humans, but it takes considerable energy on the Therus and many of them (mostly unnaturally created ones) are unable to know how to turn back into humans.

First Half of 2025 Year In Review - cdrama edition...

I normally do these at the end of the year, but I have watched so many cdramas this year, I am going to have to split this in some way. This is only going to cover cdramas that aired in 2025 so far; if I watched it but it was made in a different year, it’s not on the list. As always, very subjective.

DRAMAS WATCHED

(In order of liking from least to most as opposed to pure quality; I am including if I’ve seen enough to make up my mind; yes I realize that’s inaccurate, but that’s my list)

(46) Serendipity - if boils were a drama, this would be it.

(45) A Prime Minister’s Disguise - it's stupid, it's cheap, it's a waste of anyone's time.

(44) Everlasting Longing - more like evelasting boring with some truly terrible acting and nonsense writing (at least they did us a mercy and put two equally wooden actors opposite each other.)

(43) The Seized Destiny - at one point a man wears cat ears. That's it, that's the highlight.

(42) Love Beyond the Curse - dumb even for a vampire mini and that's a low standard indeed.

(41) Destiny and Saving - sounds like a bank branch, would probably be more fun if it was.

(40) I am nobody 2 - I loved the first season but this just didn't click for me.

(39) Filter - I love you, Tan Jianci but not even for you. At one point, FL is a llama.

(38) Destiny of Love: and snoring.

(37) Phoenix's Gambit: Love or Crown - just like its name, couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to be.

(36) Love and Sword - Gao Weiguang is hot. Unfortunately not hot enough to melt one's brain which is what you'd need to enjoy this dumb mess.

(35) Les Belles - More like La Bete. Because it's la bete of a drama.

(34) Eat Run Love - tried to go for Lighter and Princess, Walmart edition, failed at even that.

(33) Love Never Fails - until it does.

(32) Youthful Glory - cute and harmless. So is a bunny and that's at least nice to pet.

(31) Dominion and Devotion - a mini tried to be a proper palace drama which is I suppose praiseworthy but not what I watch minis for.

(30) Si Jin - A girlbossing story that made me decide I'd rather watch a drama with not a single woman than this type of female centric story and also that Jing Tian is a beautiful woman who doesn't click for me and Zhang Wanyi really needs to stop playing the same role over and over.

(29) The Best Thing - fluffy and plotless but oddly soothing.

(28) Blazing Elegance - this is like the trashiest 1980s romance novel imaginable but set in 1930s China. I had so much fun but did I respect myself in the morning? Hmmm.

(27) Guardians of the Dafeng - too goofy for my liking for most of its run but that ending!!!!!!

(26) Flourished Peony - solidly acted but alas the narrative did not grab me and ML really made no sense as a period character.

(25) Moonlight Mystique - main story pointless, the palette vomit inducing but oh the secondary OTP stole the show and my heart.

(24) Bound by Sin - softcore with submissive ML and domme FL. Wild for most of its run until it tries to acquire respectability late in its run.

(23) Such a Good Love - tried to be artsy ended up just boring.

(22) To Love or To Defy - FL is an assassin getting distracted by an honorable prince. The logic is utterly absent but the fun is fun.

(21) Once Upon a Dream - fakecest is the flavor of the day - why date out of the family when your adopted brother is right there, has great hair and dubious notions of consent? This one is very pretty.

(20) The Prisoner of Love - he tortures her, then she tortures him and on and on and on - the usual. Featuring a couple where FL rides off into wedded bliss with the man who murdered her parents.

(19) Stolen Love - someone watched Kunning and decided to write a Yan Lin AU, honest. I liked it but it did get repetitive and FL is kinda brain dead.

(18) Sadistic Love - despite the name, a surprisingly not psychotic love story with fakecest and a lot of gay vibes.

(17) The First Frost - a modern about broken up lovers reconnecting, this was a masterpiece for 3/4 of its run and then made a narrative decision so stupid it ruined the drama for me.

(16) Hidden Love - not the ZLS flufffest, this is full on fakecest delight. FL's two choices are ML who she thinks is her half brother (he turns out not to be) and her actual half brother. As it goes.

(15) A Love Never Lost - I think, if I were objective, this is the best drama this year. It is not my favorite for very subjective reasons but God, what a masterpiece about an epoch. Bleak ending, characters who ranged from complex and controversial to complex and unlikable (still in awe of Li Xian taking on THAT role - Liang Xiang was complex, larger than life, driven, smart and a monster who was a rapist and a betrayer) and the death of Yang Kaizhi (Wei Daxun) a rare moment that made me cry when I rarely get this moved by dramas.

(14) Kill My Sins - a thoroughly adult story of loss and vengeance, with Liu Shi Shi and Shawn Dou sparking with each other as equally ruthless and equally damaged souls who find kinship (this is a drama where they never even kiss or confess but when they call each other "soulmate" you FELT it.) So good!

(13) Always My General - like some of my favorite web novels made into a drama. FL is a woman pretending to be a man and becoming a legendary general, ML is a prince who loves her either way - so delicious. My fave mini of the year.

(12) The Glory - a Gothic and female-centric tale of vengeance and dysfunctional families, this is a story with characters shockingly manipulative and dark. It made Chen Duling a bigger star and well-deservedly so - her abused, violent and brittle protagonist is the person who the show rests on. It did drag a little in the middle but then came back swinging in the end.

(11) A Moment But Forever - in a year that gave me a lot of awesome xianxias, this one does not disappoint. A depressed and abused philosophy major meets a literal and cheerful engineering major - xianxia style. Liu Xueyi is gorgeous and Tang Yan a delight but what really hits is a surprisingly solid story about divinity, life and forgiveness.

(10) Perfect Match - Jane Austen but frothier, this tale of a widow moving with her four marriageable daughters to the capital where the fifth married daughter lives, this is a souffle with a love story for every taste and delightful bit of sisterly love on top. Pick your favorite romance! (Mine is fourth sister and her judge husband.)

(9) Love of the Divine Tree - it's like someone watched TTEOTM and went "this is how it should go instead." Our heroine is a master who finds feral, hot, abuser demon child and cat hero and decides to give him therapy via a petting zoo and chores.

(8) The Demon Hunter's Romance - just a solid lovely tale that includes some genuinely adult, common sense interactions and characters and a wildly creative take on demons and their stories.

(7) The Prisoner of Beauty - finally released out of the dungeon, this story of arranged marriage between members of feuding clans turned to love is a delight, held mainly by sane interactions and insane chemistry between Liu Yuning and Song Zuer.

(6) Love in Pavilion - do you like gorgeous pain? Come right in. Do you like doomed love in many varieties and incredible visuals and a totally gonzo set up? This is everything Red Moon Pact should have been but was not.

(5) The Blossoming Love - the best xianxia of them all in a very solid xianxia year, this story of a demoness and the perfect saint of the cultivating world goes hard on an incredible OTP and some glorious destroy the pantheon energy. Our Male Lead is not an atheist who does not believe in gods. No, he knows they are real and he WILL end them.

(4) Under the Moonlight - came out of nowhere to own my heart. This tale of a former courtesan assisting in cases in the yamen, a sheltered noble son who gets involved and the upright commissioner is everything - smart and moving and with so many points about class and gender (that is not preachy in the least.) It's realistic in a way most dramas are not and deals with portions of society dramas often don't, but it makes you both think and feel.

(3) Eternal Brotherhood 2: second year in a row a season of this drama misses top spot by the skin of its teeth. This grim, smart feudal-world-at-war and the three sworn brothers who deal with it drama comes back with more hard choices, brotherhood, love kept and lost and some insane cinematography and acting

(1 tie) Legend of Zang Hai - sometimes a huge hit starring a big star IS actually all that and a bag of chips, and this is that rare example. Ostensibly a story about vengeance, this is actually a smart, emotionally riveting character study about selfishness and selflessness, damage, kindness and evil. The script is tight, the direction impeccable and the performances out of this world. Xiao Zhan as the containedly insane focus and maelstrom of all the madness gives a performance I will long remember.

(1) The White Olive Tree - a modern is my n1 drama of the year? The world is coming to an end. The story of a journalist and bomb disposal expert who meet, fall in love in, and are destroyed by trauma in a war zone is a masterpiece. It's delicate, it's hopeful, it's heartbreaking. It also is a vanishingly rare portrayal of trauma that does not have pat solutions or easy outs. It's a romance and a tragedy in the classic Greek sense of the word, especially for the ML whose very idealism and goodness are what make him both perfect and unsuitable for helping and that ultimately take him down.

FAVORITE DRAMA

It's a tie:

The White Olive Tree - for the first time in ever, since I first started watching cdramas in 2007 - my favorite cdrama is a modern. Yeah, I know. Flawless from beginning to end, with literally nothing I'd change, this love story and character story is unflinching in its portrayal of love and trauma. Everyone gives a great performance but it's anchored by a genuinely jaw dropping performance from CZY as shattered idealist Li Zan.

Legend of Zang Hai - that rare beast - both smart and emotional, with gorgeous cinematography and impeccable acting, this really shows the cost and burden of revenge and makes you hope against hope for happiness and healing.

WORST DRAMA

Serendipity - this is what eating a plastic bag must feel like. Dumb plot, terrible look, horrible acting, hideous ML etc etc. Where do I start.

FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER

Li Zan (Chen Zheyuan), The White Olive Tree - one of the three male performances and characters of the year for me. Li Zan starts the story as a shining light and ends a broken wreck and it's an epic performance throughout - it shows how uncomfortable it is to love a saint but it also shows this saint as human in all his complexity and drive; it makes idealism human - it's intense and haunting and you can't look away whether you are swooning or crying.

Zang Hai (Xiao Zhan), Legend of Zang Hai - I so rarely find actors with such huge and intense fanbases worth the hype, but XZ really is worth it. This performance of traumatized, vengeance-driven but unable to get rid of his soft heart Zang Hai was incredible - so many scenes that just had me jaw-droppingly in awe.

Liang Xiang (Li Xian), A Love Never Lost - Li Xian owns the role of a magnetic larger than life monstrous mover and shaker of the end of Qing. The man is a rapist and a murderer; he's also a filial son, a supremely competent leader and a terrifying kind of an idealist. This is not a role any idol-adjacent actor normally takes but Li Xian is incredible in the role.

FAVORITE FEMALE CHARACTER

Luo Shu (Hu Bingqing), Under the Moonlight - she is so complex, so strong, so haunted. Very much a gender swapped "haunted, tough man with a cause falls for a sheltered kind woman" set up for her and her OTP but what I love even more is she's not defined by romance.

Xiao Qiao (Song Zuer), The Prisoner of Beauty - she made a soft spoken, largely internalized character irresistible. I loved her from beginning to end.

NEEDS TO BE MURDERED

99% of the people in A Moment But Forever - I am Team Apocalypse for that one. Truly awful horrors, whether the torturing selfish immortal sect, the useless deities, the evil war demons who created the worst society possible or the gross humans. Kill them all!

Beast Kingdom people in Love in Pavilion - we would not have the tragedy without them.

And, as last year, City Lord from Eternal Brotherhood 2.

BEST BAD GUY

When Deng Wei's character in Tree, Zhang Bin Bin's in TBL or Liu Xueyi's in Moment go evil, they automatically become 10x hotter and seeing they were already hot to start with...but my favorite is Lord Jiuhuo (Charles Lin) in Love in Pavilion - that man was willing to wreck the world for love and he was epic doing it. My favorite part of LiP.

“HAROLD, THEY ARE LESBIANS” AWARD

And Chen Duling is in this one for the second year in a row - Zhuang Hanyan (CDL) x Chai Jing (Jinna Fu) in The Glory are 100% a couple, with frankly as many couple scenes and set ups as the ostensibly canon het OTP.

“HOW DID CENSORS NAP THROUGH THIS” AWARD

Honestly, any mini would be on this list (have you SEEN the sex scenes in Blazing Elegance?) but if we are talking "proper" dramas, let's go with The Glory, which let all sorts of awful, murdery characters get a happy ending.

MALE LEAD MOST LIKELY TO BE BROUGHT HOME TO MOTHER

No, thank you! The few modern ones she’d not approve of (Li Zan is likely to leave you a young widow and Sang Yan from TFF would never decouple from his girl anyway) and the period ones are no go since few moms would be keen on wild-eyed, bloodied sons in law however hot and long haired they may be.

FAVORITE SHIP

The White Olive Tree - idealists who love each other more than life but that love is not enough to fix them.

Kill My Sins - they don't kiss, they don't confess, they barely touch. And yet the soulmate compatibility and the chemistry just pour off the screen. I was feral whenever they were within two feet of each other.

Legend of Zang Hai - not a ship centric show and sometimes these make the best ships. I would lose it when they even touched palms. They are both damaged and wary (and he's borderline nuts from trauma) and watching them dance around and get their hearts broken and healed was...

The Blossoming Love - taking on Gods in any life and form and so ride or die and sexy and AAAAAAAA

FAVORITE SECONDARY OTP

Many excellent choices this year (the cursed cultivators in The Blossoming Loves, all the secondary OTPs in Love in Pavilion, First and Fourth couples in Perfect Match) but the winner is the haunted, dysfunctional, intense, doomed secondary OTP of Moonlight Mystique. I finished that drama solely for them.

Serendipity - I really don't want to waste more time on this toxic dump of a drama so all I am gonna say is they made fakecest, my fave trope, boring!

HOTTEST SCENE

Blazing Elegance - all their sex scenes are insane but also the aphrodisiac scenes in Love in Pavilion take the cake for sheer intensity and the baby making in ep 32 of The Prisoner of Beauty because phew boy!

FAVORITE SCENE

Li Zan's breakdown in the hospital and the aftermath when he tells FL the truth in The White Olive Tree. That scene? Shivers.

Zang Hai emerging out of the tomb in Legend of Zang Hai - the breakdown, the manipulation are epic. The epic Greek tragedy of the Marquis' death.

In Eternal Brotherhood 2, Di Lin arriving to rescue his brothers at Payu; or his kneeling to Xiujia's pregnant stomach, his hands gentle on it, promising to come back.

Liu Xueyi's madness in the hole in A Moment but Forever - LXY is an actor who's often too good for his dramas and this scene shows how good he can be as he's going mad and confronting his inner demons.

The First Frost ultimately fell apart for me, but the scene of teen Sang Yan watching Wen Yifan dance on the rooftop he equipped for her is what swooning over poetry feels like.

BIGGEST CRUSH

We are gonna go in the most opposite way possible: the law abiding, incredibly decent, rather rigid Fourth Husband, Perfect Match and Di Lin in Eternal Brotherhood 2 - the man is ideal husband, a terrifying beast in battle and just all around sex on legs.

BEST SCENE STEALER CHARACTER

Zhuang Zhixing (Zhou Qi), Legend of Zang Hai - the sole decent person in that family of monsters, he stole my heart and his arc OMG!

BEST COSTUMES AND WIGS

Costumes: Legend of Zang Hai - real embroidery, and costumes that look real.

Wigs: I am gonna be weird here and say Kill My Sins.

MOST EXTRA OUTFIT

Honestly, most have been fairly sane but Feud should fix it.

FAVORITE SECONDARY ML

General Yun in Eternal Brotherhood 2 - Si Yilin x Ka Dan were my n1 OTP in s1 and yet the man's honor and willingless to risk his life to protect Ka Dan without expecting anything has got me almost switching ships.

MOST BLATANT INNUENDO MOMENT

It hasn't aired yet but we all saw that poster for Feud, with Bai Lu fondling Zeng Shunxi's enormous...sword:

FAVORITE 2025 CDRAMA SONG

Chen Xueran's Moonlight Dance from The White Olive Tree. You have no idea how much I listened to it.

Song Zuer, who beat her tax allegations (already a miracle) and came back with two awesome dramas.

ACTING SURPRISE

So many great performances, but I am gonna go with Chen Zheyuan in The White Olive Tree. He's been solid in so many awful dramas but I never knew he could be such a revelation

The Demon Hunter's Romance - not really but would be fun. And EB2 likely since I cannot see how they will wrap the novel's story in the remaining number of eps.

Same as last year - the emperor cannot be irredeemable. WTF, China, you are a communist country! Though they are nibbling at the edges this year. Also fake feminism - I am all for girl power but not when it’s ridiculously anachronistic for the period with no explanation at all. And finally NO MORE TRADE DRAMAS PLS PLS PLS

FAVORITE TROPE WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF

Men (and women) knowingly fighting for a doomed cause because otherwise they’d cease to be who they are. Or if we are being shallow all the beautiful men in chains.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

The First Frost: it was so exquisite for about 2/3 and then the Hong Kong arc happened (and was not in the book; the adaptation was faithful so far so nothing heralded it) and ruined the whole drama. It negated the development, the themes, the characters - it made me dislike both leads and the way the narrative never addressed it made the whole story utterly fall apart.

BIGGEST GOOD SURPRISE

The White Olive Tree, Under the Moonlight, A Moment but Forever, The Demon Hunter's Romance - this has been a year of surprises, so many of my top dramas weren't on my radar at all.

Drunken Words, Sober Thoughts: You and Jake had a history of flirting and occasionally kissing if too much time was spent at the bar, but it never went any further than that. One night, after showing up at your house and passing out on your couch, Jake wakes up the next morning only to learn he had drunkenly confessed his feelings for you.

Alive: After you get into an accident, Jake has a hard time coping with how close he was to losing you.

More Than What We Are: You and Jake are friends with benefits, and you have one rule: No feelings! Jake decides that rule doesn’t work for him anymore. 18+

Less Misery, More Company: Jake has feelings for you but you don’t believe it, so you play a little trick to get back at him for all of his flirtatious teasing. Considering its high level of danger, you had been happy he hadn’t volunteered for it, until he came to your house one morning to tell you he had been assigned and would be leaving within the hour.

I had a crack idea that I was thinking of so you know in Dan is Klarion au I was imagining a au based off of that one where all of Danny's children are Klarion is like the robin thing for Batman it started off with Danielle when nabu insulted Danny as the Ghost King and Balance

Ever since Ellie decided that she needed to get back in blood so she made the chaotic antihero Klarion and and her suppose it familiar 'cat' Teekl the way to help out her mother and mess with Dr Fate/Nabu Teekl is actually a bear with an illusion on that makes him look like a cat in the human's eyes

Whatever since the anti-hero Klarion in The Phantom family has been passed down each of them giving their own flair to the persona of Klarion with a different animal every time that they had pretending to be a cat

Tell her to finally passed on to Dan it is an honorary sibling thing each of them has their own antihero name once they passed down the title of Klarion

Ellie huffed as Danny reprimanded her for her actions. She just huffed crossing her arms. She was just helping Danny. Her mom got a lot on his shoulders and she as the sort of oldest saw that the best. Sure technically Dan was older then her but, he shrunk down to kid level again and now she was the oldest.

Well if she ignored her other brothers but they were only saved recently and still in treatment with Frostbite. So she was the oldest. End of story.

"Ellie you can't just go off like that you know that messing with an Ancient is not-"

"Mom, That Nabu-Guy was being a pain in the a- " - "Ellie!" - "A PAIN, babbling on to much about Order here Order there. How keeping Balance means keeping Order and bla bla bla!" She cut in stopping her mom before he could go on another rant about the Ancients, she needed to treat with respect.

"He doesn't respect you, the Ancient of Balance! You are the literal Symbol of Balance between Life and Death! Aside from being the Ghost King. So of course I had to mess with the one HE mentors!" Ellie added huffing as she crossed her arms.

Danny pinched the bridge of his nose. "Ellie, you created an entire alternate persona!"

"Yea so?"

"You used an illusion spell on Fluffels!"

"And? Any good Anit-Hero needs a Mascot." Ellie shrugged once more looking up at her mom before looking over to Fluffels, her pet ghost grizzly that was pretty much double maybe even tripple her size and the fluffiest ghost grizzly you could find in the entire Ghost Zone, and the cutest.

Danny on the other hand groaned, wondering if he had done anything wrong while raising Danielle. Sure he had been a teen himself but good damit why the hell did Ellie decided messing with the Ancient of Order or rather his mentee was a good idea. "I am calling Jazz! You can explain to her what you were thinking!"

He was definitely to overworked and stressed to deal with Ellies mischievousness right now. Well she did call her alternate persona Klarion, Lord of Chaos. Nope! He was not dealing with this right now, so Danny did the sanest thing he could think of. Turning on his heel and walking away. Where to? Who cares maybe he would check in with his old man Clockwork and see what Ellie had actually been up to, instead of just reading through Nabu's complains.

Ellie on the other hand blinked watching her mom leave before calling after him. "Does that mean I have to stop, being Klarion?"

"Mom?!"

"MOM!"

"Well hello my lovely Amadillos! Long time not seen!"

Ellie shouted cheerfully as she twirled into appearing hair styled into a horn like form, black suit and she might have over done it a little with the black eyeliner but hey it was an iconic look wasn't it. She smirked as Fluffles growled which translated into a meow for the mortals before her thank to the illusion spell.

The mortal teen looked up at her surprised as she floated down her hand glowing with red ectoplasm (a color change from her usual green ectoplasm that had taken a while to learn from Pandora). Young Justice was currently transporting something of interest to her. Well of Interest for the Justice League, really but Doctor Fate was involved which meant Nabu was involved, which naturally meant she would get involved. It didn't hurt that she would also get to try to try some new tricks.

"You got something interesting there... and I want that." She grinned. Ellie didn't give them long before she acted using the new tricks she had learned.

"Woah! Hey there, watch the pointy and sharp thowies!" She laughed making a quick shield as she blocked some batarangs and arrows before blinking.

"Hey they look different. Robin, did you change equipment? Did you get a new haircut too?" She asked curious but didn't really receive an answer as they ignored her questions and shouted something about distracting her while the others continue the transportation. Still she bend down to pick one of them up twirling it between her fingers. "What gives didn't they have a different design before?"

In hindsight it was probably not a good idea to just abandon her original goal but Robin was making her curious. And she could always find a different way to mess with Nabu. Her mom had given her an indirect okay years ago anyway.

"Teekl!" She called out and only her eyes could see how Fluffles jumped at the call growling in response as he swatted away some of the more annoying Young Justice kids. To the mortals it probably looked like Teekl was using ectoplasm, or well magic, in their eyes.

She used that change to go up into Robins face smirking widely as she looked at the other more closely, trying to get a read on him. "You are different! You aren't the same Robin I meet before!"

She ducked in time avoid Superboy as she hopped back excited with a new idea for her family.

But first she would have to deal with the little chaos and mischief she was creating.

".....and that is how I learned that the Robin title is getting passed down. So I was thinking of doing the same!" Ellie broadly stated looking at all her younger siblings before her. "We all get pretty annoyed with the way Nabu treats Mom so there always has to be a Lord of Chaos to 'balance' Nabu out!"

She grinned at her siblings expecting the same kind of excitement she had and they didn't disappoint. Danny had been there for all of them, even going so far as in to find a way with Clockwork to save some of their lives. So of course they all would jump at the change to mess with the one Ancient that was badmouthing their Mother just because Balance didn't entitle Order the way they wanted.

After all Chaos was needed to Balance Order out.

With a flick of her finger, the peasant dared not continue. "Mercy," she scoffed in her sultry, honey-like voice, her words dripping with malice. She stood from her throne, the ghoul guards awaiting her command to rip the peasant to shreds. However, on this particular day, she felt an uncharacteristic sense of generosity.

Her aura seemed to shift, and she crooned, "I smell fear. Do not fear me, child, for I am your queen," as she crouched down, gently lifting the man's chin with her icy fingers. The coldness of her skin sent shivers down the man's spine, and he couldn't help but think, 'How can one be colder than ice itself?' Unaware of her ability to read minds, he didn't realize his thoughts amused her.

"You have betrayed me, an unforgivable sin that should not go unpunished," she declared, her voice dripping with venom. The man's attempt to interject was futile; with a swift twist of her fingers, his neck was snapped open. She closed her eyes in anger, sighed heavily, and rose from her position, the man's lifeless body dropping to the ground.

"How many more should be killed to understand my deep hatred of being interrupted?" she growled, her voice echoing through the cavernous palace. The ghouls' grumbled giggles filled the room, a chilling contrast to the queen's anger. As she walked back to her throne, the atmosphere returned to its usual, oppressive silence.

Turning to her trusted advisor, Mingi, she requested a drink, but her attention was diverted by the abrupt opening of the black, massed doors. A young boy, dressed in a raggedy white cloak, ran towards her, his footsteps echoing through the palace. "Your greatness, apologies for the sudden intrusion," he said, his voice trembling.

The queen's annoyance was palpable as she asked, "What is it?" The boy replied, "It's the Hollows, they've come to reveal a prophecy." The Hollows, a great union of ancient souls, aged over a million years old, possessed knowledge that could aid the queen in her quest for power. Her eyes widened in curiosity, eager to plan her next move to ensure the success of her envisioned "Utopia".

pardon the background i hate doing them lol This is Ev! My Golden Trio Bro (Jayden should kinda be there too but he isn’t part of the actual Golden trio so he is absent)

Full name is Evarin Aldrich Whitewood, he comes from a Pureblood Family, where his Parents are fond of older and more Fancyish names(though he doesn’t have the fanciest name out of the three Whitewood Kids :).

Relationship Chart:

Not everyone is there, as i did cut out antagonists and characters he has no relationship with/doesn’t even know who they are.

If you can’t tell, Ev doesn’t like people all that much, he’s rather solitary and studious, only having a few close friends.

My whole 'au' kinda story thing is split up all between like seven of these characters, all being the main characters of different seasons and having their different friend groups. For instance, Ev is not all that great of friends with Kevin, Robyn, Lottie, and so on.

(Which was partly short lived, as the Freys became the Team Beaters a year or so after he made the team himself. Though he has to admit…they aren’t exactly a hindrance to the team, as he feared they would be)

-Being a Slytherin, Ev shares a Dorm with both Daniel and the Frey Brothers, so you can imagine how divided that room is..and not just in friend groups and opinions of each other.

Evarin is a bit of a Neat-Freak, though not to an extreme degree. He can’t focus in a messy space, and very much prides himself in his attentiveness.

The Frey Twins are the complete opposite and prefer to use the floor as their storage space rather than their trunks or drawers. Ev can excuse a lot of things, but actively leaving your room looking like an Erumpent rampaged through it is not one of them. Daniel is better, but does often have organized messes.

Hey, I saw that mafia/baker au about Phoenix being mafia family member. I'm generally curious how Miles will react if he finds out about that. Like would he have that moment of 'Ah, this explains everything' because how Phoenix barely gets hurt or would he ask a lot of questions?

And Phoenix, would he treat that like it's embarrassing family secret, not realizing how well famous his mafia family is?

To answer your question, I did not fully think about the "Phoenix was part of the mafia too" at the time I was drawing the Mafia AU. It was a prompt that somebody send me and I thought that the idea was fun! But it was not my original idea for my scenario, I don't know if I would have include it in my comics in the end. So I can't really answer your question I'm sorry ! And to be honest with you, I don't remember every plot point I thought about at the time ;v; it was quite a while ago...

The TV is turned low enough for the broadcast to blend down into a warm buzz of crowd noise, taking up space like another piece of furniture that John has been meaning to buy for the past four months but hasn't. He punches in two minutes on the microwave, then stands there staring through the pockmarked window, the hum of electricity adding another layer in his ears. Whoever's at the free throw line whiffs it judging by the reaction from the fans. No surprise. The Hawks have been sucking ass tonight.

It’s John's last chance for microwave dinners and the heavy, hoppy beers that he likes best. Tomorrow he’ll go cold turkey, meal-prep chicken breast and veggies and brown rice for the road and chug down coconut water instead of root beer. There’ll be a team nutrition coordinator once he gets to Phoenix but it’s not too late for a head start, if coming straight off the couch instead offseason training counts as any kind of head start. Outside, the truck is packed up, just enough space remaining for an overnight duffel and his own body in the driver's seat.

Save for Curt, John hasn't told anyone about signing. Nobody would be checking for him anyway, and likely nobody is reporting on it except for maybe the Chronicle or the Oakland Tribune, so he figures that can wait until the whole thing falls through. At the same time, his pop's favorite saying floats to mind -- no half-assing anything, Johnny. But fatalism isn't the same as half-assing and that's how he justifies it to himself. He'll give it his best shot. Just won't expect anything out of it except for a chance to play under stadium lights again.

One last rodeo, and then he'll hang it up.

Curt lives up in Petaluma, splitting his time between working at some oyster farm in the fall and working at a weed farm in the spring. He likes the labor, tackles it with the same energy he had on the field from Little League through college, tiring himself out until he can't do anything afterward except lie down and smoke a joint. He picks John up outside a transit station in San Francisco, craning down to stick his mug into view through the passenger window.

"How much?"

"Can't afford me," John says, grinning at the familiar reedy voice. He tucks himself into the tiny hatchback and leans over to give Curt a hug. "Hey bud."

"Hey yourself. Christ, how long has it been?"

"Two? Two and a half years?"

They let go of each other. Curt merges back into traffic, shaking his head. "I'm tellin' ya, I could always get you a job out here."

John keeps the window down so he can stick his hand out and feel the cool breeze. "Oyster or pot?"

"Both. Even got space in my yurt for your big ass," says Curt. "You said you found a place here, right?"

"Yeah, in Alameda. Gotta head out to Phoenix next week, though."

"It’s a dry heat," Curt mimics goofily. They come to a stop on a hill, almost at 45 degrees. He yanks up his parking brake and turns to John. "So where do you wanna go?"

"I don't care. Wherever."

"No diet?"

"Cheat day," John says. No half-assing anything, Johnny. "Cheat drink."

The light turns green. Curt revs the engine, then eases the parking brake down and they're off after a lurch. "They got real cheap drinks at this one place in the Castro," he says, giving John several sidelong glances to gauge his reaction.

"Cheap cheat drinks," John muses. "Sounds good to me."

"Nice. As long as you’re not worried about being recognized."

"I play for the A's, Curt. Not the Giants."

Curt laughs. Punches the gas pedal in now that they have a destination. Ten minutes later they're circling a block that has rainbow flags hanging from the windows and fire escapes. Curt parks inches away from someone else's bumper and they walk into a bar with its double doors flung open to let in the sun. There are poles and platforms dispersed around the floor but the place is mostly empty, still catering to a late afternoon crowd.

"I got you," John says, and Curt slaps his back, making him fumble while putting his ID back into his wallet. He shoves it in securely, then looks up to check if there’s a menu hanging on the wall or whatever. Instead sees tortoise shell-rimmed baby blues staring back at him, topped off by that now recognizable mess of blond.

John’s legs go heavy. It somehow feels like a mistake, like the universe fucked up and overlapped timelines that shouldn’t be crossing here and now. He thumbs at the corner of his mouth. Wonders if Gale is mentally calculating the odds of whether John will acknowledge him or not.

From the back corner, Curt calls, "There’s a booth down here," and John breaks eye contact to see him waving.

"Coming," he says.

When he glances back, Gale is turned towards the TV again, the lines of his shoulder blades lumpy through his shirt, but he stays seated and doesn’t make a move to close out.

Okay, John thinks to himself. Alright.

Author's Note: Still trying to get back into descriptions. Actions scenes were always hard for me to write, so I took inspiration from Michael Crichton. Also, I been wanting to write this since I love Kaiju fights.

The sky over Junon churned like a wounded beast, thick clouds writhing with anticipation. Lightning forked across the sea-swept cliffs, casting eerie silver light on the great beige cannon: a mechanical behemoth, bristling with the tension of impending war.

From the platform behind the cannon, Cloud stood. The Buster Sword was in hand, and the wind whipped his spikey blond hair. Beside him, his companions were tense, bracing for the unfathomable. The air cracked open with a low, droning hum. A crimson flare ignited the sky.

He had called it.

Bahamut descended with majesty and menace. Six wings stretched wide like scythes of judgment. Its dark silver metallic hide shimmered under the lighting. Talons crackled with energy as it hovered: the lord of the skies. The weight of its presence pushed down on Junon like some kind of divine punishment.

Below and on the opposite side of the platform, Sephiroth stood alone. His coat fluttered like a banner. His head lifted. Silver hair cascaded over one shoulder, as his glowing mako eyes filled with something wicked: calm and knowing.

“Still chasing shadows, Cloud?” Sephiroth’s voice cut through the thunder like a scalpel. “Even with a god at your side, you are nothing.”

Cloud grit his teeth. His heart pounded but not at the insult, rather at the risk. Because he had seen the battlefield shift. Bahamut was not aiming at him.

Its maw opened. There were no words, no roar. Only a building silence, a vacuum of existence preparing to be filled with annihilation. The light that gathered in its throat wasn’t fire. It was unbeing. It pulsed like the heartbeat of the void, growing, growing, growing. Then, the sky ripped.

Like the cosmos had gasped.

A rift, jagged and coiling, tore itself into existence above the cliffside. A figure hurled through it. Wings unfurled. Its massive, feathered limbs laced with smoky black down, as violet miasma trailed after it. Bianca emerged like a comet of pure wrath, her eyes, so many eyes, blazing with violet light.

She didn't roar. She never did. She shuddered the fabric of reality. Her entrance was silent save for the tremble in the air: a vibration deep in the bones of every living thing nearby.

The celestial draconic phoenix, better known as Sephiroth’s consort, had come.

Her body writhed with motion, tendrils from her wings writhing like blind serpents. Each one watched, blinked, and gave testament to the fight that would ensure that day. And every eye turned towards Bahamut.

The divine dragon released its blast, a lance of pure energy tearing toward Sephiroth with divine precision.

Bianca moved.

The world seemed to fold. A blur of feathers and corruption slammed into the energy just as it reached the man she loved.

The collision was catastrophic. More so than anything she had experienced before.

A soundless scream erupted, not from her throat but from the tendrils lining her wings. Her wings flared wide, as she devoured the flare, catching the unholy energy in the span of her being. The tendrils writhed, wrapping around the core of the blast, dragging it into her corrupted form.

The ground split. The sea boiled. Junon shook.

Bianca bled.

Not blood like a human. No. Not even like the blood that awakened after she was skinned alive by her father in her world. No. Viscous, radiant ichor seeped from the joints of her wings, hissing on the metal as it fell. Where it landed, it smoked and sang. It was a high-pitched noise like nails scraping along a chalkboard. Her wounds tore open along her shoulder. Her feathers singed and limbs trembled.

Then, her massive head tilted. Her eyes, all of them, narrowed on Bahamut with hatred older than time. He dared tried to kill her chosen one? He dared?!

Cloud stared, stunned.

“She’s—she was—” he started, stepping forward, memories flooding him. The girl, once on her knees within the Nibelheim reactor, moments from casting herself into the abyss to follow his rival, the girl he and Zack saved: Bianca. No. But this wasn’t her mortal guise. This was something else. Something born of stars, divine energy, and nightmare fuel.

“She doesn’t speak,” Sephiroth murmured across from him. His voice was reverent, as the madness of his obsession shone in his eyes. “But she is the voice of judgment. And you called down a god on me without understanding the consequences.”

Bianca didn’t hesitate. Her body shivered as dark storms gathered above her. The winds howled with a pitch that made Yuffie cover her ears and Barret snarl against the pressure. The heavens cracked as stars fell.

Not meteors. These were not celestial stones. These were dead stars, burning black at the core, trailing violet fire. They slammed into Bahamut’s wings, one after another, driving the beast backward in the air.

The king of dragons roared, retaliating with a surge of his own power, spearing Bianca through the torso with a column of raw energy. The beam pierced her. Her shriek split the air. Blood sprayed in a wide arc, burning the earth below into twisted glass.

Sephiroth's smirk dropped. Something dangerous and sacred entered his eyes: only a look that he had when he spoke of Mother.

He turned to Cloud. His tone was soft but lethal. “You harmed her.”

“She protected you,” Cloud growled. His friends staggered as the ground beneath them quaked again. “She was going to die. That day in Nibelheim. You broke her.”

"She was reborn." Sephiroth’s smile returned: eerie in its serenity. He moved. No one saw when he drew Masamune.

One moment he was standing. The next, he was soaring. His silver hair trailed behind him like a comet's tail. The sky screamed around him as he closed the distance between himself and Bahamut in an instant of impossible speed.

Bianca fell from the sky, crashing into the cliffside. The impact splintered stone, her wings folding protectively over her head. Her eyes blinked erratically across her scorched form. Her blood pooled beneath her, steaming in the rain. She did not rise.

Masamune sang.

It struck Bahamut through the neck, sliding in like water through silk. The divine dragon spasmed. His six wings flailed. Its eyes, wild with fury, met Sephiroth’s calm ones. However, Bahamut found nothing there in Sephiroth's gaze but worship. For her.

With a final push with his hand on the blade of the Masamune, Sephiroth drove the blade deeper, until the dragon’s throat cracked with a crunch of breaking bone. Blood splattered across Sephiroth's face, pauldrons, and chest.

Bahamut collapsed. His enormous body fell into Junon Bay with a splash that sent waves slamming into the docks. The sea frothed red, as the dragon vanished beneath the waves.

Below him, the cannon split down the middle with a groaning shriek. The metal moaned and twisted, cracking from the impact of Bianca’s sacrifice and the final clash of titans. It fell apart into the sea, swallowed by her blood and Bahamut’s disappearing corpse.

Sephiroth landed beside Bianca, kneeling as the rain hissed against her smoking form. He placed one of his hands on her side, feeling her labor breath beneath his fingers. Her body—massive, divine, monstrous, beautiful—was unraveling.

Tendrils once writhing with menace now sagged in ruin. Feathers blackened and fell like ash. Her wings, scorched and torn, convulsed as motes of her celestial essence shimmered in the air: tiny, glowing particles lifting from her flesh like dust in moonlight.

Trembling and slick with ichor, one of her many tendrils reached for him weakly. He caught it.

With care that defied his reputation, Sephiroth wrapped his hand around the dissolving limb. “You’re still perfect,” he whispered. His voice was raw. “Even as stardust.”

The wings continued to unravel. Her enormous eyes blinked across her body. Some were wild. Some dulled with pain. Each one slowly found him in unison. Her gaze was not pleading. It was trust.

She was dying. No. Not dying. Changing. Her form was too powerful and damaged to sustain in this plane.

And yet, Bianca could be saved.

Sephiroth's eyes narrowed. His single black wing flared wide, absorbing the storm's fury, as he continued to gently stroke her side. Black feathers fluttered against his bicep. "Not here, Bia."

With one last look at the battlefield, Cloud and his party, the ruin, and the fallen god which was half vanished behind them, Sephiroth disappeared in a burst of shadow. His wing folded against her side.

They reappeared deep in the heart of the North Crater, where silence reigned and the air vibrated with her broken magic. There, amidst the glacial walls and alien whispers pressing inside his mind, he laid Bianca's remaining essence gently onto the ground.

Bianca’s presence was faint, flickering, but alive, just not whole. He knelt beside her, hand resting over Bianca's gruesome heart.

“This world doesn’t deserve you,” he said quietly, his voice full of something dangerous and devout. “But I and Mother do.”

As her heart broke down and the dust slipped through his fingertips, the air pulsed once. The dust stirred. Bianca, the Harbinger of Destruction and Rebirth, began to reassemble.
