Home, after Login: I finally went on that roller coaster Ace kept yammering about and I just managed to throw up a barrier before we hit the water. Bet the little jerk probably didn’t count on me knowing a thing or two about waterfalls.

Oh! I dont usually see Grim dislike/hate. Can I ask why you don't like him? I think there's def room for improvement for him, but I cant find it in me to truely hate him since he reminds me of a character I really like. (Puppycat from Bee and Puppycat)

He's just such wasted potential.

Look I'm into flawed characters, but I don't like stagnant asshole characters that are in the majority of a media. Grim has barely improved since the start of the game.

He's rude, obnoxious, continues to actively cause you problems and throws you under the bus quite often (I mean look at the most recent Crewels SSR card– he tries to blame you for his mistakes and yet still gets you in trouble).

In every event he's the same. Be annoying, make a few dumb/rude remarks abt the culture, "I'm hungrryyy". I think in one event I've counted him talking abt food abt 35 times? Like I don't mind the trope of "monster creature loves food" but that's all he is and doesn't have half the endearing traits. He never shuts up about himself. He's so boring/generic. How is Morgana better than him

He still seldom shows affection for you. Like you barely get to semi bond when talking about his past. This was the only main scene we had to get attached to him before book 6. Seriously throughout every book he's just been overly cocky, rude, annoying, and suddenly you care only about him and not the fact that several people were kidnapped and the school was trashed and that the world is ending.

I thought he would have a huge change of heart after book 6 and his moment of him crying— which honestly didn't move me cause he didn't do anything for us to get attached to in canon. You really have to make up your own headcanons and theories to really make him "good". He's also your buddy but it seems he aknowedges as much as the rest of the cast

He didn't even have a change of heart as he immediately went back to being him. Sure there was that scene in book 7 where he says he's gonna protect you and calls out for you but it's like... cool you had several years to develop and we have maybe 4 scenes of you being an actual character and not some plot device/instigator.

The other thing too is how he is in school. He wants so badly to be a good mage and be the best in NRC but doesn't actively do anything to achieve that. He continues to never study and slack off (which fucks Yuu over cause they're 1/2 a student).

By all means, I'm not saying he can't be annoyed at what being a mage entails or a hypocrite (flaws are important). But he's been one for years and hasn't changed a bit. He still has shown very little improvement for someone who claims to sorta care about his "henchhuman" he certainly continues to impact their grades and school life. (Plus consider yuu not being from this world and all the extra effort they have to put in for a -C, its implied in the book). I wouldn't be surprised if he hurt Yuus pockets a lot too with his selfish appetite.

The main issue I have with him overall is the lack of consequences for him. He almost set everyone on fire? OK. He apparently scratched yuu very bad and that's that. No scene where you confront him about it or the rocks that he eats that you continuously warn him about. You can argue book 6 was the punishment but it didn't seem like it. He'll cause so many issues and get a slap on the wrist for it.

I think the best thing to do right now is to have Yuu snap at him so he improves. Fuck up their friendship. Make him realize he has been bad and actually have him change. A dramatic friend breakup. It would be the only way for Grim to change quickly rn with how long it's been

Have Yuu become a full student and watch him fall apart as Yuu doesn't need to rely on him and they're able to get their As in peace as Grim gets his Fs. Let them get angry. Seriously I'm so mentally ill over the concept of Yuu in general esp in game Yuu and all the ways to make them foils to characters or have them be angst fuel.

I want to like Grim. I love found family. But he just doesn't deserve that currently. He just sucks.

Do do understand why people like him. But I'm not one of them with the state he's in. I'm sorry I don't feel bad at all.

So I just realized that the reason we call Bucky "Bucky" is that, in MCU, at least before Avengers4, Bucky always shows up as "the friend of Captain America". Like, Bucky's identity in MCU is someone that belongs to the life stories of Steve Rogers, and "Bucky" is the way Steve calls him, so we the audience also start to use this nickname to call him...

But when Bucky first showed up in the movie, we knew that his name is actually James Buchanan Barnes, so there are also other people in the movie who call him "Sergeant Barnes".

In CA3 Civil War, when Rumlow said "your friend your buddy your Bucky", he was saying it in a teasing tone. I guess it is because at this time point in the MCU world, people seldom regard to the Winter Soldier as "Bucky". At best, they think he is James Buchanan Barnes.

I think the real game changing moment happened in the end of Black Panther1, when Bucky woke up in Wakanda, and Princess Shuri greeted him with the address "Sergeant Barnes", and Bucky corrected her and told her to call him "Bucky"... It was a really touching moment to me. It means that Bucky personally identifies himself as "Bucky", that "Bucky" is not a nickname limited to Steve Rogers, but the way that he hope all his friends call him. He started to use "Bucky" as a way of differentiating between friends and other people. When all these villains, politicians, or avengers whom he doesn't know very well call him "Sergeant Barnes" or "Mr. Barnes", the people whom he deems as friends can call him "Bucky"......

I guess that means that Bucky is taking the initiative to regain his own identity. And in doing so, his romantic relationship with Steve is an important factor, but not the sole support. The nickname that Steve picked for him is still cherished by him, but he is now inviting other friends to call him that, so he is using the kind warm identity of "Bucky" that Steve gave him as a foundation. On the basis of the foundation he is reconstructing a new sense of self, which is very close to the version of "Bucky" that Steve saw in him, but not exactly the same. It's a new Bucky on the basis of Steve's "Bucky", and definitely not the Hydra version of "Bucky".

So then we get to see more and more people call him "Bucky". Like in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, even John Walker called him "Bucky", although it broke my heart to see Bucky's face when this happened. And when Sam called him "Buck" in the beginning of this show Bucky said to Sam that he can't call him that because that's how Steve called him. So I guess at this time point, Bucky already accepted the fact that the name "Bucky" is a common way that people can call him, but the "Buck", which is a shorter and more intimate way, become the new secret nickname shared only by him and Steve...

It's an interesting thing if I keep thinking about it. Steve invented this name, and used this name to show the special relationship he got with his best friend. If Bucky didn't fall from the train and survive the war, he may have remain Steve'e "Bucky" for all his life. But then, Bucky was captured by Hydra and transformed into a monster, with his true identity totally lost. And Bucky reused the name "Bucky" as a way to recover from the trauma. In this process, Steve witnessed Bucky being accepted by more and more people with joy and relief, but it also made him a little bit confused that more and more people are sharing the name "Bucky" together with him. So he had no choice but to come up with the new nickname "Buck", which Bucky soon regarded as a name exclusive to Steve... I mean, if that is not the mutual loyalty, then what is...

As for myself. I think for me, because I write Stucky fanfics, which means that the "Bucky" I want to depict is the "Bucky" in a "stucky" contect. That's why I always call him "Bucky". But sometimes, when I write other stories where Steve is not around and Bucky is on his own, for example when I once wrote a story about how Bucky was rescued by SSR after Steve crashed in Arctics and Bucky lived alone in the 1940s, in that story I made people like Peggy and Howard call him "James"... Because I feel that back in the 1940s, the name "Bucky" was still a quite personal thing, like, I have a nickname for my high school best friend, but she's not going to let others call her that name when she's with her friends in college. Because the name is between me and her and it will be a little awkward to tell others about it...

And I made Natasha call him "James" once in my another fanfic because I feel that when Natasha first met him it was in a quite formal occasion. And I want people to treat Bucky in a formal way and treat him seriously simply because he deserves this...

So in general, I think the way in which people call this character really shows a lot. And even in this name I can see that Bucky and Steve definitely have loyalty towards each other that nothing can change. And endgame is just a bunch of messy nonsense...

Most of the time, Father's perches are more on the scrappy/ramshackle side. It's nice to see him get a really high-quality one like Topper always does! ♡♡♡

Of course, this might just be a bird-themes design choice. But since the SSR teaser mentions "remembering things from long ago," I wonder if he recalls trying to make a wish this way when he was a kid????---Shoutout to Rei's sad childhood....

Idia: It's showing him singing along with some friends he ended up making, while he tries to ignore that pain, right?

Silver: I've heard that singing can raise one's spirits. Perhaps they all wanted to brighten their own moods.

Idia: Speaking of singing to take your mind off stuff, there was this one time when I was a kid when my little brother was too scared to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night…

Idia: So we would go there while singing the theme song of our favorite anime together.

Idia: Eh, anyway, whatever their reason for singing, having that moon in the background composition like that's super moving. Kinda like what you'd see in an MV.

Idia: I-If you feel like checking out some MVs sometime, I'd recommend the idol group "Precipice Moirai."

Idia: A true fan would absolutely! More like, it's way too insolent to think that you could truly appreciate their MV with only one watch!

Idia: The first watch is all about enjoying the song and video in its entirety. The next three times the focus is shifted to checking out each of the three members' dance moves and expressions one by one.

Idia: Next, there's the actual composition of the MV, and digging deep into the actual message of the video… At a minimum, it should be watched ten times.

Idia: On top of all that, Premo's super casual MVs can put even a film director to shame!

Idia: There's no way to fully comprehend their art with only a couple viewings. That's why it needs to be viewed hundreds of times.

Silver: I had no idea their work was that deep… It may prove useful in training me better in emotional expressions, and perhaps could even be incorporated into the academy's music courses.

Idia: N-No, I mean, you don't gotta go that far… But it's great that you know just how awesome they are.

Idia: Even between us Premo fans, there's always those who still don't understand their art at all…

Idia: Every time a new MV comes out, there's always people saying stuff like, "She got the most screen time," or "She's definitely the manager's favorite," and the like…

Idia: But does that have anything to do with the quality of their work? It doesn't, right? They don't care about understanding the heart or essence of the songs.

Silver: I see… I feel as though I have learned a lot from you, Idia-senpai.

Silver: This is a painting depicting the scene of when the Sea Witch drew up a contract.

Silver: If I recall, it was said that the contract was so unbreakable that even a powerful spear couldn't rip through it.

Idia: I mean, you'd think that just having a contract that doesn't tear apart or bleed ink in water is strong enough...

Silver: Perhaps the contents of the contract was dire enough she did not wish it broken.

Idia: Who cares about the contents, the material of the contract is way more interesting. How high of a defense stat did it even have to not get ripped up by a spear?

Idia: But I totally get it, everyone wants to make invincible things every so often.

Silver: I cannot say I understand, but… What sort of thing would you make, Idia-senpai?

Idia: Like a "game console power cord that can never be taken away," or something like that… A-Actually, I tried to make something like that when I was a kid.

Idia: Whenever I'd play video games all day and into night, my mother would end up hiding all my cords.

Idia: If all she did was hide them, I could just make myself a new one, but she'd hide the cord materials as well. Totally overboard!

Idia: So I had a thought. I had to do something so she couldn't hide it!

Silver: I can only imagine your mother was concerned for your health… Did you never consider quitting your games?

Idia: Why would I? Ahh, but I really did burn the midnight oil like a little worker bee back then.

Idia: Like, I'd put a motion sensor on it, so that the cord could automatically run away from whoever was holding it...

Idia: Or I'd make the cord transparent so it couldn’t be found, or attach a homing function to it so it'd come back on its own…

Idia: And finally, after many failed attempts… I finally did it…!

Idia: I MADE A TRANSPARENT POWER CORD THAT ONLY RECOGNIZES THE AUTHORIZED USER!!

Silver: I do not really comprehend what that is, but… It is amazing that you invented something with your own two hands.

Idia: Nope, not at all.

Idia: My family also has a real stubborn genius, and every time I came up with some tech, it'd quickly get shot down by some kind of countermeasure...

Idia: And it took me a few months of that game of cat and mouse before I realized I should just convert my game console to wireless.

Idia: Hmph… But the peace and quiet that came from switching to wireless didn't last long at all...

Idia: Soon after, the Final Boss appeared: a device capable of disabling all wireless tech within a 10-meter radius!

Idia: Well, all the experience I got developing the motion sensing and automatic functions helped when I was putting Ortho together…

Idia: So I guess all that trial and error wasn't for nothing.

Silver: Even if you can picture your ideal outcome, it is rather difficult to actually put into action.

Silver: However, you have made real many of your thoughts. I can respect that.

Idia: Wai― What're you trying to say all a sudden? Getting complimented to my face randomly like that is a little scary… W-Wait, is this all a plot to beguile me!?

Now... let us proceed with the SSR Strict Suit meta analysis, followed by enlightening theorycraft.

It should come as little surprise that the developers chose to bestow upon our esteemed historian a defensive kit the likes we have never seen previously.

His card boasts the highest HP of any card; a most fitting and perfect foil to Professor Crewel's beastly POW stat

Speaking of which, his duo buddy is none other than Crewel, following the established pattern among NRC cards (this suggests he will be Coach Vargas's duo partner)

Much like his colleagues, Professor Trein's third spell has a unique buff that benefits others, which in this case is a large boost to damage resistance--an enduring one lasting five turns, at that! His is, however, the first of the staff to grant a boon to all members of a team, as opposed to a single ally

Speculation comes into play in order to understand his elemental attribute. Why only Flora spells? Realization struck a few shrewd acquaintances of mine almost instantly--whereupon they lauded praise upon the developers, who expertly wove lore and symbolism into practical application. That character is none other than Rollo Flamme. For Trein figures most prominently not in the main story, but in the former's Glorious Masquerade.

Rollo's SSR is a pure Fire Attack card that behaves in a selfish manner to unleash powered-up spells upon foes

This is not only representative of his Unique Magic, Dark Fire, but the fire lotuses which drained mages of their magic reserves

Rollo set in motion the catastrophe for illogical, self-serving ends--he cared not for any incidental victims who he possibly hurt in doing so

Professor Trein, ever a selfless and sacrificing soul, acted to protect his students and strangers despite the immediate risk the flowers posed to his life

He would have confronted Rollo himself were it not for his students' insistence that doing so was reckless and that he would be of greater use to the townspeople

This behavior furthermore parallels Lady Tremaine's determination to protect her fortunes at any cost; the element of bounty is best represented by nature (Flora) and the color green is sometimes said to symbolize wealth.

There is yet another, more ribald implication that Flora's elemental advantage over the Water element might be a nod to Trein's romantic forays with his late wife during their honeymoon within the City of Flowers's waterways....

Isn't it fascinating? I certainly never would have thought of something so nuanced myself!

hi!! i have a question about the current event store where you can buy 1 event cards. I'm just starting to play and at the moment i have dorm leona, dorm jack, dorm epel, rollo, masquerade azul and tamashina leona (also i have all robe/lab sr cards). do you have any recommendations on which card i should buy to benefit my account? i would really like masquerade malleus but i'm a little worried because almost all my ssr cards already include flora and fire :((( thanks in advance for the reply!

Hello!

We always encourage that you go with your favorite characters first, so if you like to have Malleus for bias reasons, go for him! Every anniversary will continue to bring back the limited SSRs, and new SSRs can have the cards you're seeking for.

If you really do need a new Water card, GM Ace has a very strong Water duo, and Silk Jamil is a great defense card especially for Fire Defense. The latter works really if your Masq Azul and Tama Leona are LB3 with their M3 since you can put the three of them in Fire Def, but even without them, Silk Jamil works as a duo partner for Azul. As for GM Ace, Robe Riddle is already a good duo partner due to similar elements (and both share Idia as a buddy), but if you eventually get Dorm Riddle, that would be even better.

You can also get Camp Ruggie to use alongside Dorm Leona and Jack in Water tests. He's a really strong card.

Masquerade Malleus is a really good choice, already. I'd encourage you to get him, if at least for Rollo.

It’s hard to choose…) (Now that I think about it, the letter paper I was using before had a heart design. It really had a “love letter” vibe.) (Maybe that wasn’t the best choice…?) (…I’ll choose something simpler and more sophisticated this time.)

Masumi: (…I feel like this one’s too plain now. Maybe I can make it better by sticking some trendy stickers onto it.) (Wait, no…) (Come to think of it, the fan letter Director got also had a lot of different stickers decorating it.) It looks like it’s handmade though… The sender is—“Usui Masumi”!? (Inside is… a regular letter. But it feels a lot thinner than the ones I’ve gotten before.)

Izumi: “On the 4th, the mushroom cheese curry was full of mushroom flavour. But thanks to the spices and cheese, it tasted exquisitely delicious.” “I felt the synergy between the ingredients and the spices.” “On the 7th, the meat and beans in the chickpea keema curry had just the right size and texture to compliment the rice. It was so delicious, I ate 3 bowls." Are these his thoughts about my curry…? Ahh, what to do? I’m so happy…! (The last page says…) “Thank you for your delicious curry (and other dishes) as always. A Cater Fan Incoherently Rambling About Cater Diamond Because oh lawd he’s comin’!

Uh, spoilers!

Caterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! Buddy, I knew it would be you! Chat, did you know Cater hasn’t gotten an SSR that isn’t one of a series everyone else features in since 2020? Aside from birthday cards and clubwears, the last SSR he has gotten was his Halloween card. A card that came out FOUR years ago. And did you know it’s the only one? He only has the one? He’s the character who’s gone the longest without one of these special cards. Jade was in the exact same boat until Octavinelle Book 7 came out. But that’s wild! I remember seeing people complaining that Cater kept getting all the SRs, especially since Trey wasn’t really getting anything, but my boy was just being compensated for his lack of SSRs! I now sit patiently for Jack’s next SSR, but that’s a tangent for another day. So from the moment we realized every dorm was getting special Book 7 cards for at least one character, my immediate thought was “Oh PLEASE let it be Cater!” I was so sure it would be Cater because of his lack of SSR cards coupled with the fact that- chat *holds you by the shoulders*. He’s SO interesting! I would’ve sacrificed one of my SSRs for a look into his brain! Trick King Cater, I’m so excited for what you have in store! 

I have discussed Cater in length twice before. Here and here. This is me typically talking about how The Cangst is Real (trademark). I stand by everything I said in these posts, if I were to retread this ground I would say the exact same things. So for a change, I’d like to step away from the Cangst a little and talk about some of the other things I like about Cater:

Ok, I know Cater’s putting on a show, but I LOVE his dialogue! I’m a chronically online individual who adds phrases I find funny to my vocabulary via osmosis, therefore I LOVE TWST EN! They perfectly captured how Gen Z people talk (in my opinion) and humor. Perfect example of this is Idia, but Cater is SO funny! One day, I’ll compile my favorite bits of Cater dialogue (“I’ve made my apology post on Magicam, so be sure to like and subscribe” and “Ugh, I do NOT like or subscribe to this, but fine!”). Like, I don’t know if my sense of humor is broken, but I am howling everytime I read lines like this! I usually don’t like it when people attempt to write the Social Media Teenager (they overdo the lingo and use it incorrectly, only ever take selfies and vlog), but from the moment I met Cater I knew he would be the exception. He’s not the social media character, he’s a character that uses social media. Distinct difference. The comedic intention is there in the dialogue, I can taste it. 

Cater and Trey. Heck yeah. I LOVE Cater and Trey’s dynamic! They are THE duo. They are THE besties. They are- *cough*, anyway! I love it when they interact, they are one of my favorite TWST pairings. They’re the Heartslabyul Vice Housewarden and the Vice Vice Housewarden (“There aren’t Vice Vice Housewardens-” shhhhhhhh), very prominent figures in the dorm. They were roommates for the two years before they became juniors, I’d love to see what that was like. I have this headcannon that they met during orientation and had what looked like the beginning of a beautiful friendship and Cater went “and I’ll never see him again! That’s for the best, can’t be getting too close to anyone!”. Then they got put in the same dorm. “I mean, it’s a big dorm. Not like we’ll overlap that much!” Then he got to his room. “Shoot!” But they’re so cute together! They have such good evergy, they know so much about each other. Trey knows his food preferences, Cater brings out the playful menace. They are always together, a pair, please do not separate. They match each other’s freak, they have the best friendly banter. Trey freaks out when he loses Cater, Cater’s out here flirting with the man, I love them. I love them so much. They are getting comped, mark my words! 

I will say, I was so disappointed that Trey doesn’t get to see Cater’s dream. He’s the one that wants to understand Cater the most. He’s got a sneaking suspicion about the Cangst. He called him his best friend, chaaaaat-! However, I eventually realized that when Trey learns about the other side of Cater, I want Cater to be able to consciously open up to him. I don’t want that agency taken away from him, what good will this do if he doesn’t get the choice. Cater doesn’t want to get close to people out of fear of how much the parting would hurt. But for him to learn how to open up to people again, he has to be the one to take the first step (“hey, what happened to laying off the Cansgt?” I’m sorry, it’s baked into his character!) I’d still love it if Trey got to see his dream, but I think this will lead to something better.

Cater and the rest of Heartslabyul. Maybe I just love Heartslabyul, but everyone’s dynamics are just 10/10. He’s supportive and friendly with the freshies, Deuce and Ace. Ace literally says in his Union Birthday vignette if he could pick from within the dorm, he’d pick Cater as an older brother! Fun fact, when I first saw everyone, if you asked me who were siblings and I didn’t have last names, I would’ve said that Cater and Ace were brothers. And Deuce gets along with him well, too! We got Halloween, they were so nice together! I’m pretty sure Deuce is going to bear witness to Trick King Cater, and I am so curious. Also, I love it when he trolls them. Like when he got them to paint the roses in Book 1, when he just dips out of the tart making, he’s really fun with them. They still have a positive view of the guy, no one’s gonna say no to more Cater time (except for the NPCs, but they have no taste).

And then there’s Riddle. Cater is, for lack of a better term, Riddle’s Vice Vice Housewarden. I’ve read so many fics where Cater and Riddle don’t get along and ?????? Don’t they? I really want to know how Cater got to be Vice Vice Housewarden. Was it because of his relationship with Trey? Did he just have the potential? Does it have something to do with the Housewarden Cater theory (omg that thing is WILD). I’ve always imagined the way they know each other is because Trey put in an effort to reconnect with Riddle after being able to get close after years, with Cater tagging along because he’s friends with Trey and “Oh yeah, I’m down to chill with this little freshie!” Trey calling Riddle to eat lunch with them, Cater asking “Who’s that?” “Oh just my childhood friend.” Trey tries talking to Riddle while Riddle watches the current Housewarden flagrantly breaking the rules. Cater sitting there contemplating “Childhood friend? What a wild concept. Heh, imagine having a childhood friend. No frame of reference found.” So for that first week, they hang out with Riddle, as Riddle slowly gets more annoyed with the Housewarden’s lack of effort in imposing the rules. All this culminates in him challenging the Housewarden. I have this funny visual of Cater posting on his Magicam story a selfie of him with the fight about to start behind him labeled “Housewarden Vs Our Freshie #Riddle4Housewarden”, maybe not actually expecting him to win but still being supportive. Cut to a few minutes later a shaky selfie of a shook Cater in front of the fight’s aftermath labeled “OH MY GOSH HE WON?! #HOUSEWARDENRIDDLEREAL?????” (wanted to draw this before I remembered I can’t)

Oh my gosh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Riddle’s Dorm vignette, those two are peak in there. The visual of Riddle chasing Cater throughout Heartslabyul for not being able to memorize his 300 page notebook as Trey probably jumps in when they rush past him to save Cater and calm Riddle is simply incredible. And the fact that Cater talks about Riddle’s tutoring efforts fondly in Deuce’s vignette makes me really happy (the connectedness of the Heartslabyul dorm vignettes will always be famous). Also, it is so interesting to me that Riddle literally doesn’t do anything to Cater in Cater’s dorm vignette. His team is trying to tattle on him and Riddle just goes “Oh, hey Cater how’s it going? Keep up the good work.” When Riddle gets mad at the team for losing the list, but when the team pins the blame on Cater and tells Riddle to use his unique magic on him, he makes no move to do so? Doesn’t even have the angry face anymore? Knows exactly what Cater was planning with his Magicam? Like- are they right about the cronies thing? This is literally favoritism. And I love it! They’re friends. You can’t tell me they aren’t. You can’t tell me they don’t enjoy each other’s company. Book 7, PLEASE don’t throw my words back in my face! 

I love watching Heartslabyul combos. Like, when you get the three branches of Heartslaybul (Does the Trey, Cater, Riddle trio have a name?) together, OH I love it! They eat lunch together, love that for them.

Pop Music Club, MY FAVORITE CLUB! Lilia, Kalim, and Cater are such a perfect trio, whoever came up with it needs a raise. They’re chill. They’re chaotic. They aren’t getting anything done. Peak behavior. I eat up every scene they have together. Lilia’s ceremonial robes vignette is peak. They featured in the Cangst vignette (halloween). The fact Cater and Lilia are friends is making me vibrate with Book 7, I really hope they touch on it more. Cater, king of moving and leaving people behind, NEEDS to do something of importance, he can’t have this kind of lore and relationship with Lilia only to do nothing. I wonder if that’s a reason he gets a card. 

His cards are very aesthetic. He slays in everything. He has such 10/10 vibes in all the art. They didn’t give him any SSRs cause they couldn’t handle him!

He slayed so hard in Book 2. Yuu and Grim would’ve gotten no where if Cater wasn’t there. Even with just Riddle, they probably wouldn’t have even known where to start gathering intel. He was instrumental to the counterattack. I saw someone reblog a post I once made saying “Oh, I forgot Cater was in Book 2.” That made me so sad, he slay-slayed so hard, put the respect on his name!

Chat, have you seen the mangas? Chat! Have you SEEN the mangas! He. is. So. Cool! The way he pulls out split card is so cool! When his clone jumped in front of Deuce, my jaw dropped. That look he gives Leona after he reveals his role in the plan, especially after that match they played earlier in the story- going feral.

Don’t even get me started on the novels. I LOVE THE NOVELS SO MUCH! The novels are my favorite version of the canon, they add so much, they’re written so well, they’re literature aka my favorite storytelling medium! He gets stuff! He gets STUFF! They need to translate the second one yesterday!

So the above is a bunch of scattered Cater ramblings I wrote a couple of hours ago because the Cater brainrot came back (if you know you know). I just felt like I needed to speak before the Heartslabyul update. This is the calmer version of me! I’m not reading this back, I have no idea what that person who wrote it said. I think any typos give this post some personality (throws glitter). But yes I am very excited about this latest update! Cater is one of my favorite characters in TWST and I can’t wait to see what Book 7 has in store for us! 

Cater, don’t you dare cry on me! I’m an avid preacher of the Cangst, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it if you do!

I’m sorry I can’t be normal about this event 😭😭😭. Just going to cry and word vomit some more over Same Age Group ajwbrkfkskakwkngnfkakaknks!!! LOOK AT THEEEEEM! 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

I have so many feelings about these three and their friendship. Just look at how relaxed and buddy buddy they are with each other in this image! 😭 I know they’re all tipsy, but it’s still a fact that they’re great friends and their badge for this event is literally along the lines of “today, at the usual place”. It just makes me so warm and fuzzy that they regularly go out to eat and drink together. Like every time I see them talk about it in voicelines, etc. my heart just clenches and now we get a whole card, song and event about them?!?! I die.

And also the fact that the event teaser description is “The "now" that was unimaginable back then is here.” absolutely destroys me (in the best possible way—I’m being bombarded with all the good feels 😭😭😭). For Tasuku and Tsumugi, they’ve finally reconciled after their fallout and now are acting together when they thought it would never happen again. And, more significantly, the fact that Itaru is part of their group now… when, before Mankai, he never would have thought he’d have friends like this. 😭

And it hits even harder when we look at their gacha cards!!

LIKE WTF?! I wasn’t ready for this?!?! What do you mean Itaru is in the background and implies that these three were so CLOSE to being in each other’s lives during their high school years?!?! I daydream constantly about the “what ifs” of Itaru meeting them earlier in life (like I think about it so much I wrote a whole damn AU series about it 😭) and here it is dangling in our faces 😭😭😭. I just love that the theme of their unbloomed cards is all of them in high school, but then when you get to their bloomed cards…

It’s so obvious that they all have such a presence in each other’s lives! 😭 If we look at that event description teaser especially from Itaru’s POV, he never would have imagined he’d be regularly rubbing elbows with two buddies at an izakaya let alone being so comfortable with people that he would TIE HIS SILLY LITTLE HAIRTIE ON TASUKU’S HAIR and DRINK OUT OF A DUMBBELL BEER GLASS (which he is probably doing out of jokes to Tasuku or maybe just straight up got it as a gift from him).

I’m just so happy that Liber obviously found this friendship so important and significant that they gave us this content and I’m here for it 😭😭😭.

Also the song is SO GOOD?!?! It’s so chill but catchy!! I will cry if they ever perform it at a future Blooming Live concert!! I don’t understand the lyrics but the title of the song being “accord” also just hits me in the feels! 😭 It’s such a positive word to describe their relationship!

I really hope someone will translate the event story, event cards and the song lyrics one day!! If anyone sees the translations somewhere, please hit me up!! Or if any translators wants the raws for translation I can totally supply them!

As a side now, I swear SSR Tsumugi gacha cards are always so hard for me to obtain 🙃. It only took 1,595 gems (11 whole 10-pulls) for me to get one copy of him 🫠🫠🫠. I’ll stop talking now and go back to desperately grinding the rest of my unread content for more gems to try and bloom him 😭😭😭.
