Alex Samuels at Daily Kos:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is weighing a second run for the top Democratic seat on the powerful House Oversight Committee after Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia announced that he’s stepping down due to a recurrence of esophageal cancer. The 75-year-old said Monday that this will be his final term in Congress. He currently serves as the committee’s ranking Democrat, and his departure opens up one of the most influential roles in the House, especially with President Donald Trump in the White House. Ocasio-Cortez challenged Connolly for the post back in December but lost in a closed-door caucus vote. Now, with the seat soon to be vacated, she’s making it clear she’s back in the mix.  “It’s something that I’m weighing. The seat is not yet vacated, and I think that’s a bridge we can cross when we get to it,” she told reporters Wednesday. If she jumps in, Ocasio-Cortez would enter as a clear frontrunner. According to Axios, other Democrats are watching her next move closely, with some progressive members holding back their own bids until she decides. The House Oversight Committee is no small gig, considering it’s behind House investigations and the Democratic Party’s main line of attack against Trump. With MAGA loyalists running interference across the House, Democrats will need someone who’s sharp, visible, and unafraid of a fight. Ocasio-Cortez checks all of those boxes. She’s already become one of the most recognizable faces in Congress, especially after co-leading the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, packing venues even in blood-red states like Idaho. She’s also polling strongly, with one April survey showing her leading Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in a hypothetical 2028 Senate primary. [...]
Rep. Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts, 70, will serve as interim ranking member and has already announced that he wants the job permanently. But he’s no firebrand. Lynch sparked backlash after he berated a constituent who asked him to “commit to not voting for any Republican legislation.”  “I get to decide that. “I’m elected. You wanna decide that? You need to run for Congress, okay?” he snapped back. Other young leaders, including Reps. Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Maxwell Frost of Florida, are also reportedly eyeing the top Oversight spot, though they’re still waiting to see what Ocasio-Cortez decides first.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) could be weighing a bid to serve as the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, as a result of Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) stepping down… but she’ll have to fend off Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA). Reps. Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) could potentially eye the spot, depending on what AOC does.

“Throughout history and across the world, dehumanizing language has facilitated the systemic, inhumane treatment of groups of people. This is certainly the case for people impacted by the U.S. criminal legal and immigration systems.”
ICE traumatizing people, families, communities.
youtube
Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost tells Stephen why Governor Ron DeSantis is acting more extreme than ever, and why unlawful ICE detentions are tearing apart families in his state. Stick around for more with Rep. Maxwell Frost!

They stuck with the Thanos/Death Illuminati team..... Honestly at this point Reed, Tony and Stephen have been part of enough Illuminatis to realise it always beats their ass whenever they join up. I'm sure there is a better excuse to convene in dark, creepy rooms since they hang out with each other a lot anyways (idk about stephen and reed hanging out with each other but tony hangs out with both of em so eh).
Also no namor or black bolt :((( IDGAF bout Namor but I want the inhumans to play a part again. (But I like blue marvel so idk)
Atleast they're not doing the whole "aight humanity time for a mind wipe" thing again so yipee! Thank you emma

Come Play With Us
Long before the Feywild, Frosty and Gricko were sat together in an inn. They had a shared room at the top floor, Gricko fast asleep, with Hoostie nuzzled up close beside him. Frosty lay on the other side of the bed, but his sleep was much less cozy.
Images sparked across his mystic mind as he slept, splatters of blood, shrieking, a hefty metal cane swung down hard followed by the cracking of bone, and perhaps worst of all...children. Children, lost amongst these terrible visions of carnage.
With one final shriek of the children's voices, begging and pleading for help, Frosty awoke in a cold sweat, panting and running a paw over his face, heart pounding against his ribcage. Gricko squirmed a bit, his eyes blearily opening to peer at Frost.
"What is it, Frosty?" He said, stifling a yawn. Frost opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it again. It felt so horribly, -horribly- real...but of course it did, it was a nightmare. Where in the hell would his mind pull such terrible visions from though? He'd seen some bad stuff, but nothing like that.
"It...it's nothing, Gricko. Just rest." He said finally. To the untrained ear, his voice sounded rigid and monotone as ever. But Gricko knew the Tabaxi so well that he could tell the untraceable tremor of fear in the man's voice. The goblin frowned, brushing some long hair from his face as he peered up at him.
"Maybe ya should get some water or something, maybe have a walk around, a'ight?" He said, offering a comforting smile. Frost sighed, then nodded. "You're probably right..." He said as he climbed out of bed, stretching a bit before grabbing a candle from a nearby nightstand.
He walked away from the bed a bit, as to not wake Hootsie, before lighting it, and heading outside the room and into the hall, trying to quietly walk along through the upper floor to clear his head.
As he walked further down, his head began to ache. It was this dull, throbbing pain in the very back of his mind, like a warning light blaring, telling him to turn back. No, he told himself, it was just a nightmare, he couldn't be overwhelmed by something like this.
So, he kept walking, trying to focus his mind and clear out the dark thoughts. But the more he tried to do that, the louder his mind seemed to scream. He shut his eyes tightly, trying so very hard to focus-
And when he opened his eyes...a boy stood before him. A little Tabaxi boy, clad in tattered brown shirt and pants, no shoes, a coat of stripped orange akin to an alley cat, and two-toned eyes, one blue, and one green.
The boy stared at him intently, his eyes wide, and his mouth hung ever so slightly agape. Frost slowly blinked, staring back at the boy. He didn't hear him walk up...how could that be? The inn was so quiet...
"...Are, you lost?" He said softly, still trying to not wake other guests. The boy continued to stare for a long moment, his expression dazed. Maybe he was sleepwalking?
"...Yes." He finally said, the little kitten's voice barely a whisper. Frosty slowly nodded, offering a faint smile to the boy. "Let's get you back to your room then." He said, moving towards the boy.
As he did so though, his foot slipped out from under him, having to grip the wall beside him to avoid tumbling over. He blinked, leaning down a bit so the candlelight could show the floor in more detail. Frosty let out a horrified gasp-
Blood. All over the wooden floor. It was thick, fresh, and splattered -everywhere-, staining his feet and the edges of his robe, and pooled under the boy's feet. Now with the light against the boy's form as well, he was revolted to realize the blood was coming from him, oozing down his back and clotting against his fur.
The boy held out his arms, his face contorting to one of fear and sorrow. "Please..." He croaked, tears beginning to fall down his cheeks and mixing with the blood. Frost's first instinct was to back up, but he held his ground, his own tears staring to form at the terrible sight.
"W-What do I do...please, tell me-" He began, frowning deeply, before the candles upon the hall's walls flickered to life, sparking and sputtering for a moment before coming to a sudden fiery roar, illuminating the entire hallway.
It wasn't just the floor - EVERYTHING was covered in blood. The walls, the furniture, the paintings, the doors, evening the ceiling somehow. And there were more children. Of all shapes and sizes, of all races and backgrounds, that began to surround the Tabaxi.
Frosty's calm quickly shattered, his heart once more pounding in his ribcage. "What do I do?! WHAT DO I DO?!" He shouted again, this time panic and despair tangling his usually monotone vocal cords.
"Frosty?!" Came Gricko's voice behind him, Frosty turning around to see the goblin peering out from the door of their room towards him, Hootsie peeking out as well, letting out a worried hoot. The Tabaxi panted heavily, looking forward again.
Nothing. Everything was as it should be - well, the candles were still lit, but there was no blood, and no children. He blinked twice, then twice more, looking all around him, his mind reeling from what had just happened.
"What's wrong? Ya look like ya saw a ghost, mate." Gricko said, exiting the room and walking up beside him, Hootsie following after. Gricko looked at the brightly lit hall, hearing some people in neighboring rooms shuffling about and grumbling in annoyance at all the commotion.
Frosty stared down at the ground in silence for a moment. Then sighed softly. "I...I don't know what I saw. But...I-I think we have to leave." Gricko blinked, brow furrowing a bit, but nodded. He didn't know the reason, but he didn't really need one.
"A'ight. We'll leave first thing in the mornin', a'ight? It's only a couple more hours til sunrise anyhow. Don't worry, I won't let ya outta my sight til then." Gricko said, offering a comforting smile, which Frosty struggled to return.
