all of johnny's concerts have a strongly recommended 'no phones' policy. he prefers for his audience to live in the moment and remember the performance firsthand, not through a screen. this subsequently encouraged attendees to focus on the content of johnny's spiels and 'call to actions' between songs. depending on the venue, if johnny saw phones being used in the front row and he was close enough to interfere, the phones would simply be kicked straight out of the person's hand. other times, for concerts which involved content from his early solo albums, a thin veil/curtain would be used to partially obstruct himself to deter recording until the end of the setlist. seasoned concert attendees know about the etiquette and aren't afraid to reinforce it/take action against transgressors themselves — thus, reminders rarely need to be voiced during the show itself and concert bootlegs are highly coveted.

although e-tickets became popular in later years, physical tickets are still in use for his concerts whenever possible. as inspired by johnny's small collection of ticket stubs in his adolescence and his own upbringing, he liked the idea of a concert keepsake which was accessible to all attendees — even those who couldn't afford band merchandise. in 2077, after his death and the development of kerry eurodyne's solo career, the stubs have significantly appreciated in value and tend to be the cornerstone of most diehard fans' collections.

although samurai played all-ages shows since they were underage themselves during the band's inception, johnny's solo shows are intended for an 18 + audience. his concern is less with the younger crowd itself (ie. he wouldn't care if someone underage snuck in) but rather, a concern that the backlash over youths' safety and the performance's mature content would eclipse his own agenda and messaging. as such, rather than performing as a censored version of himself, an age-restriction was implemented for simplicity.

although johnny and kerry occasionally played shows together throughout the years after samurai's disbandment, samurai never had a formal 2020 reunion world tour. merchandise for the non-existent tour was sold at a joint show and a couple solo shows but they were always intended to be a joke, poking fun at the diehard fans who repeatedly hassled him and kerry for a reunion and continued to live in the past of their respective musical careers.

johnny used to be more willing to share the stage and spotlight with kerry during early samurai concerts but as time went on, his stage presence became more and more assaultive. this resulted in several heated conflicts during the band's lifespan, some of which had kerry leaving outright only to rejoin later after tensions had simmered down. towards the end of the band's run, johnny and kerry often had altercations on stage which involved the threat of violence — usually towards kerry. although johnny has always insisted that he'd never seriously hurt kerry and the conflicts were akin to playful roughhousing, those who witnessed these clashes in-person weren't always convinced — such as when johnny swung his mic stand straight into kerry's lip during a gig in an abandoned cellar, or when johnny chose to wield a firearm on-stage after he arrived late to a set and saw kerry singing lead for the opening song.

in the early days of samurai, johnny was far more willing to sign merchandise and would often sign vinyls along with the rest of the band after the show. as the years went on, he became far more selective with his signatures and rarely signs unless he feels like it, it's on a fan's body, or if it's for a particular charity/donation. in the past, he's been known to draw a dick or personalize it with an address to 'fuckface' which intentionally negates the resale value — especially if he suspects that the autograph will be later sold.

---- If you're listening to crappy butt-rock, at least go for the track that has something going on for it throughout, instead of just one mildly interesting hissy-fit on a song that also includes a skit that sounds like the best acting Robert Downey Jr. ever did, it's all I'm saying. ---- On second thought, Dan Donegan is a "Cancel culture" whingy shithead that makes me embarrassed that I use the same guitar brand as he does and David Draiman is an all-around garbage person, so I think that's way funnier (even if unintentionally) than anything they have ever put to tape. Here's a cool song by an awesome band that I still love instead...

Anyway, I'll probably go back to writing about anime and Fire Emblem because that's all it ever seems to interest people when I type out these journal entries/brain droppings. Love a duck!
