In fact, on many occasions, he had to keep his face serene bordering on irritation when people looked at him, laughed and asked for his real name, as if Luo Binghe were lying to their faces. His own mother followed him on social media! What if she saw those kinds of comments!? Did I make an au just for a rarepair? Yes, but heres my idea of a shen twin au

In my version Shen Yuan transmigrates into the body of 5 yr old Shen Shi, twin of Shen Jiu. It is very important to note that in this au SJ and YQ refer to SY with "A-Shi" and "Xiao-Shi" respectively, and SY takes up the identity of Shen Shi. SY is also fully cognizant when he migrates so he has the complete thoughts of a 20~ yr old while in the body of a 5 yr old. This causes some major dysphoria and also anger at the helplessness of being in a body that does not fit him and also the fact that he has no social nor physical power because he is a child. He also views SJ and YQ as his little brothers even if he is actually the youngest physically.

He eventually is taken in my the Qiu family alongside his brother. It is when SJ starts to bond with Qiu Haitang that it finally pieces together that his brother is going to be SQQ and grieves for the events that he knows is going to happen to him. The building rage and anger at the helplessness of the situation culminates in Shen Yuan starting the massacre with SJ instantly jumping in and causing the majority of deaths. When SJ carries out the unconscious body of Qiu Haitang SY realizes the opportunity in front of him. He knows that she is going to be the kickstarter of his brother's downfall and in that moment grabs the nearest weapon, and with a heavy heart, kills her as SJ watches in shock. He turns to SJ telling him "You can't leave any witnesses, they always eventually spill" before both run off. I dont know what to do with the Wu Yanzi so I'm ignoring it for now. And im also unsure if he gets a system but we'll see.

Eventually they meet up with Yue Qi now Yue Qingyuan and the anger SJ has towards him. SY is also angry but its more so for SJ's sake than his own. The two of them become a part of Cang Qiong sect and while SJ is taken in by the Qing Jing peak, SY is taken in by the beast and flora peak (which I do not have named). They both become head disciples and later peak lords. SY also is able to clock that SQH is not the original version due to airplane saying a modern phrase and a friendship forms. SY is also the one to start biting and defending his brother when QQQ or LQG take potshots at him. It's while they are still disciples that SY meets Su Xiyan while hes on a mission and they worked together for a bit before SXY split. They continued to meet up until eventually a friendship formed and SY meets TLJ a "companion" of SXY. SY clocks who the two of them are goes to SQH to learn all he can about them and their future. SXY and TLJ eventually fall for each other and SY makes sure to prevent the palace master from finding out as long as he can. He also warns them about the palace master and to not trust any letters not hand delivered by SY as he will act as a middle person to make sure no one intercepts them. It is also during this time that SXY and TLJ both gain interest in SY. Neither can explain fully why but his autistic swag, photographic memory and ability to name drop paragraph long information in seconds intrigued them. They start courting him, shen yuan is of course oblivious. It is also important that SY introduced himself to TLJ and SXY with the name "Shen Yuan" so only the two of them refer to each other as such. He also clocks when SXY is pregnant and tells her as such when symptoms start to show and again, not to trust the palace master. By this time he is now a peak lord alongside his brother.

Eventually the old palace master finds out and instead of targeting TLJ, he first targets their lynch pin, shen yuan. He sends letters to SJ and YQY about SY being a traitor. Showing him being a demon sympathizer and hanging out sect secrets that actually SQH was leaking due to the system. SY is captures, a trial occurs and SY is charged as guilty with the punishment of execution, but YQY and SJ object. Since it was CQ secrets he was sharing they have the official say. So instead of execution they instead lock him up on the beast peak using talismans and sigils. He is not allowed to talk to anyone besides fellow peak lords and his head disciple. He cannot leave the peak without another peak lord monitoring him and this also applies when teaching. This lockdown completely breaks him as he lost trust with his family and the confinement dives him crazy as a peak lord he commonly left to document and work upon his bestiaries. This leaves him in a depressive state and constantly paranoid as he cant trust anyone. And No One has told him definitive news if SXY and TLJ are safe, SQH has confirmed that TLJ was not captured and helped SXY but he has no clue where they are now and if baby LBH is with them. As SY is confined on his mountain he stops caring about appearances and starts wasting away seen in image 3. I havent figured the rest out with LBH but he does become a part of cang qiong sect under Qing Jing, the abuse he faces stays the same. If he is raised with TLJ and SXY or by the washer woman I do not know yet. LBH hearing about the rumors of a monster on the beast peak heads out and comes face to face with SY who is delighted to see him but also horrified that about 14+ years have now passed. This pushes him a little out of his depressive episode because now he has a son to take care of and he can't waste away in front of him. He needs to act strong. He teaches LBH the best he can while contained and tells him about his parents. The two form a father son dynamic where both cant really escape the situation they are in but at least have each other for company. SY also holds onto LBH's jade pendant so it isnt lost. He also tells LBH that if he meets a demon named TLJ, to mention the name Shen Yuan.

While on a mission LBH meets up with TLJ and tells him that he's met SY and TLJ loses it (pos). He asks where he is as SXY and TLJ have been trying to find him with no success. He is told that hes on the beast peak in cang qiong and has been contained there for the last 16 years. TLJ then hatches a game plan to free him and the decide to use the immortal conference as a distraction. Most of the cultivation world will be at that conference so minimal security will be held at the sect. They use this to their advantage. TLJ strikes a deal with MBJ to cause a distraction to keep the cultivation world on the two of them even if alarms go off that SY is escaping. MBJ agrees to this as TLJ allows him to target any huan hua disciple he sees (they dont tell SXY this). While they cause a distraction by appearing on the 7th day of the conference, SXY sneaks into cang qiong peak and works on the talisman and sigils. This works and eventually she gets to SY he sees the bad shape he is in, but it was better than what LBH originally saw. The two of them start crying and SXY activates a 2 way communication artifact with TLJ telling him it was a success.

TLJ then turns to MBJ and MBJ teleports, appears in front of SXY and SY and teleports the two of them to the demon world. TLJ then turns to his son who's demon seal now broke and decides to do some father son bonding and the two both go into the eternal abyss together, as this is a tradition for heavenly demons. The two of them return after 1-2 years and have MBJ teleport them out rather than using Xin Mo.

pursuing shen qingqiu: you're trying to pursue shen qingqiu? good fucking luck because he's dense as hell and will take multiple chapters to even realize you like him, nonetheless actually like you back. you're gonna have to witness his mental gymnastics first hand while attempting to flirt with him or literally showing any amount of affection. so, either you're gonna have to take it slow and wait for sqq to finally realize, or you're gonna have to be real damn obvious (and even then, he'll find up some excuse or not notice at all). sure, his affection meter will go up, but much.. slower than usual. considering his lack of care for "canon fodder" compared to lbh and pure denseness.

you won't be able to win. set your gender as female? no no, you're for lbh! he'd kill sqq for even daring to look at someone as beautiful as you! set yourself as male? whattt? he's not gay! no sir, no way! you may be attractive, but shen qingqiu is a perfectly normal and straight man!! this probably won't apply if the player sets themself as gn though lol

you'll probably get an option to clarify yourself every time you interact with him ngl. just to make sure he understands. drawbacks are making him think that you don't think he's capable of understanding things (if you say some corny ass romance shit he and sqh will not take it seriously)

pursuing liu qingge: prepare to keep your inventory open because the man will pop up out of buttfuck nowhere and gift you demonic beast heads as if they were a couple of treats! no explanation needed besides "..this is for you". then, he'll take off running or stand uncomfortably still watching you take in the bloody monster corpse as you try to formulate a proper response. respond in anything else but a thank you and a nice smile? liu qingge is confused and devastated and will not get over this moment. please just be nice to him from the start (unless you want a rivals to friends to lovers style romance). the poor guy is just so beautiful he hasn't been able to learn any proper social skills! he got it pretty easy, but now he's emotionally constipated. uh oh!

tell lqg he's cute? he's going to try and fight you. give lqg a little kiss? he's gonna punch you. in the face!! softly! ...with his own lips (whenever you do something to fluster lqg you won't be able to tell if combat mode got activated or not).

sure, mu qingfang may be pretty relaxed (and bland, not a lot there, honestly. curse sqq's narration and lack of attention for anyone other than lbh) compared to the other pursuable characters, but he is a very busy doctor! a doctor that is literally living in a world with none of the technology and knowledge we have in the modern day, full of porn plants and a thing called dual cultivation which, I'm sure is pretty morally ethical.

the poor man is probably drinking away, having to deal with sending away yet another patient to live with a terrible illness which he cannot do anything about. having to see yet another helpless, pregnant teenage concubine who didn't have a say in anything. sure, magic exists, but do you think airplane really thought about shit like this? can you just imagine how fucked over mu qingfang must feel? his route would probably consist of him constantly feeling like he can never do enough, how he's pretty much a workaholic because that's the least he can give to the people and help others. and please, the dual cultivation. how can he, a healer, refuse?

what if he doesn't want it? save the person, and get it over with. mu qingfang is doing a good deed. he'll be a bad healer- no, a bad person if he doesn't do this. he doesn't want to be. please, he's doing his best.

please help i just had a dream where svsss was a dating sim. so, of course i tried pursuing shen qingqiu, but it ultimately backfired because suddenly he realized that he was in a dating visual novel?? and since i put myself as a guy, he just refused to show up to special in game events to avoid me interacting with him???

and obviously i was like "wtf why isn't he here?" when he didn't show up. then at some point i explored the area, and the screen suddenly zoomed in to show sqq talking to sqh (supposedly telling him all about the little situation). next thing i know, both of them are slowly turning their head to stare at the screen in pure and utter terror

also in some part of the dream, i think i did some liu qingge events or something and as his affection levels rose, he would continuously jump scare me by popping up out of nowhere and go, "its not like i like you or anything!!" while covered in blood and holding out a demonic beast head as if it were a box of treats

I love the idea of the Washer Woman being the sensible adult in Binghe's life in the Demon Prince Binghe Au. I can see Tianlang reading him romance novels as a kid while Su Xiyan chooses books on cultivation and how to crush ones enemies. Washer woman has lectured them both on child appropriate practices more than once, Tianglang more than Su Xiyan.

Imagine young Binghe getting cursed as a puppy one day and wandering off, tired, hungry, and injured only to be rescued Qing Jing Peak Disciple Shen Yuan who nurses him back to health . Washer woman ends up being the one to retrieve the prince since she's human and not considered to be a traitor like Su Xiyan.

Afterwards, Binghe can't stop gushing about his fateful meeting with the beautiful shimei he met (Shen Yuan was so pretty he thought he was girl).

Tianlang: That's my son, not even ten and he's already found his future wife! Not only that, but a cultivator to boot! But wait, the Cang Qiong Mountain Sect despise demons and would never permit one of their own to court a demon which their love would be forbidden! As a Heavenly Demon, mortal alcohol did absolutely nothing for him, but a small exertion of his blood parasites could keep his body from metabolising it for a few minutes. Just enough to feel the burn against his throat.

"What has you so interested?" Su Xiyan asked. She looked down at the table imperiously, and Tianlang-jun smiled and obediently refilled her cup.

"This one has spotted an interesting character," he said, nodding over to a nearby stall selling fabric.

She followed his gaze to the sight of a short, round-faced man poking at some rolls of silk with a deeply unimpressed expression. As the two of them watched, he picked at a thread until it came loose and then squinted at it like a disapproving mother-in-law.

"That pendant around his neck is a several-thousand-year-old artefact of the Mobei clan," Tianlang-jun said. "Makes you wonder what some mortal merchant is doing with it."

"Not mortal," Su Xiyan said.

She hummed, not bothering to respond. Tianlang-jun placed his cheek in his hand and watched as the small man called over the silk merchant to begin perhaps the quickest and most brutal bartering session he had ever witnessed.

Su Xiyan drained her wine cup. "You have fun with him. I should be getting back to the Palace."

Tianlang-jun let his bottom lip jut, gazing up at her as she stood. "It's no fun without you."

"You'll live with it, I'm sure."

"I will, but I'll be imagining you critiquing my technique the entire time."

"It'll keep you sharp."

As she turned to walk away, she let a casual hand reach out and run through his bangs, dragging nimble fingers across his scalp and giving the slightest tug before letting go.

"Say," Tianlang-jun asked, stepping in close to the man's back as he was ducking his head to count the rolls of silk he had acquired, "Does your master know you're here?"

The short cultivator jumped, nearly sending the three rolls of silk in his arms to the dusty ground.

"What?!" he asked. Then he blinked. Tianlang-jun let his smile stretch wider, showing teeth, that charmingly human gesture which made his own kind draw their blades and bare their claws, ready for the predator to strike. 

This human must have lived amongst demons for long enough that his instincts were the same. He began to back away, glancing down around the rolls of fabric, likely to see if he could reach his sword from wherever he had it tucked away without dropping his burden. Tianlang-jun almost wanted to pounce on him a little, just to see if he could.

“This lowly one greats Junshang,” the human said quickly, and Tianlang-jun’s brows shot up. “Begging Junshang to forget this insignificant one and continue on his business.” 

“That’s a no, then,” Tianlang-jun said. For each step the cultivator took back, Tianlang-jun took one forward. “Because I’ve met the young prince of the North, and I’ve certainly never seen him wear—” he reached out and plucked up one of the bolts of fabric, spreading it out to consider. “—so much yellow.” 

The cultivator snatched it back, scowling. “Hey, hands off the merchandise!” As soon as he had snapped the words, he paled. Tianlang-jun’s smile widened that much further. “Ah, that is…” 

Before he could make excuses, Tianlang-jun took another of the bolts of fabric and fell into step beside the cultivator. “Come, walk with me. Let’s see how long it takes your minder to notice. I don’t suppose you feel like lunch?”

"Only if you're paying," the cultivator said.

"I'm afraid this lord has no human money," Tianlang-jun said, fluttering his eyelashes. "Perhaps my dear new companion would treat me?"

The cultivator rolled his eyes. "Aha, yeah, try that on someone it actually works on. This servant is way to cheap to be funding any demonic sugar babies."

Tianlang-jun did not know what a 'sugar baby' was, but he was sincerely looking forward to finding out.

they arrest shen qingqiu and binghe fucking sprints over realms to get there in time and distract everyone with a half-assed and ultimately failed assassination plot against the old palace master. when no one manages to catch him, he finally does the worst thing possible. a crime unforgivable in shen qingqiu’s eyes.

he monologues.

for a good chunk of time, luo binghe goes on and on and on about his monstrous, evil, deliberate plans of destroying the cultivation world. and what better way to do that than to attack the wealthiest sect in a time of such importance as a cang qiong peak lord’s trial? hah! fine! you’ve backed him into a corner!

(he is freely walking around and no one is trying to stop him. shen qingqiu’s eyebrow twitches.)

he’ll explain! the truth is—

he does not shake his fist, but only just. he harrumphs and leaves in a flurry of sleeves and demonic qi. very evil-like, yes.

the cultivators gathered for the trial are, to put it mildly, very confused. the old palace master is forced to apologise, but nothing else comes of it, which gets binghe thinking: finally! a reason to torment someone! time to plot evil things!

his evil plots, over the next however many years, leave almost no victims. everyone is starting to catch on. finally the whole su xiyan thing is revealed and the cultivators ask him (after another… evil… plan) if that’s why he hunted down the old palace master and interfered with huan hua palace’s missions so much.

“uh.” he takes a moment. “sure. yeah! sure, let’s go with that.”

“then why’d you fight tianlang-jun? it, like. levelled a mountain. zhao hua spent three months treating him and he still tilts to the side when he’s running.”

luo binghe does not answer. shen qingqiu and shang qinghua look at each other like this

and liu qingge finally starts suspecting something is amiss here.

meng mo is very, very tired. he’d thought for a second his not-disciple would finally act his lineage. he should’ve known. this useless kid only knows three things and two of them are shen qingqiu related.

I can’t stop thinking about my Fragmented SQH AU so here I go:

Obviously Shang Qinghua is not fine. He tries to be, really. The story is over, his son is finally happy with the love of his life and the world didn’t end. Even his ex-husband (they never got a divorce, Qinghua technically died, does it count as one?) is now free! And his cute and socially awkward King is trying his best to treat him like a friend instead of a servant.

Still, Qinghua yearns.

Sometimes, when no one is looking, he touches his flat stomach and remembers his pregnancy when he lived as Su Xiyan. A strange, lovely feeling to carry someone inside you. Unforgettable. He misses those days, but not so much. Too stressful, always running and hiding in order to protect her little one.

Other days he gets lost in the memories of his life as a washerwoman. Sad, grey days were those. Binghe was her little sunshine, the only reason she kept waking up everyday until her frail body could no more.

He remembers Binghe’s first words, his first steps. He even remembers the things he used to whisper to calm him down after a bad nightmare, kissing his tears away. Back then she used to dream for a better live, hoping to live long enough to see her baby boy grow up and marry someone kind.

He got to see Binghe grow up, yes, but only from afar. Qinghua had to restrain himself many times from killing Shen Qingqiu pre transmigration. Seeing his son cry with no way to comfort him was torture. Or so he thought. Because living right now so close to him and only being victim of his hatred is way worse.

“The traitor.”

“That rat.”

“Pathetic—“

It was too much.

He did deserve it. Qinghua did nothing to stop the stop fate (why was Shen Yuan allowed to change the rules when he was forced to hurt his son?) but it still hurt so much.

So it was no surprise when a few tears rolled down his face after a specially mean comment. A few demons from the court snickered, but Binghe just looks at him with a mixed of confusion and surprise, recognizing the tears as real and not the fake kind Qinghua usually shed around Mobei. He doesn’t feel guilt, because if it isn’t Shizun he does not care, but is still odd to witness.

Shang Qinghua just bows and leaves. He cries the whole way to his rooms. It’s depressing, he knows, but he must endure this. This is his penance, right? Now he must face it.

He tries not to stare at Binghe too much after that or even speak in his presence, but it only draws his attention. Binghe seems to attack him more often as if trying to test something, curious to see his reaction. Why? Qinghua doesn’t know, but it can’t be good. His love for his son does not blind him of his cruelty.

‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry—‘

Why did his little sunshine had to become such a fearful and cruel emperor? Why couldn’t he remain small, and cute and kind? Why in the world did he write that cursed story?

He sighs giving Binghe a quick glance. The young demon looks tense. Qinghua is sure his bad mood is mostly for Shen Qingqiu’s absence, who left a few days ago for serious sect business (yeah, right— you just wanted a break from your clingy husband bro) and hasn’t returned yet. On top of that the last few meetings at court has been terribly stressful. So many demons playing mind games can be exhausting.

Qinghua even after feeling hurt by Binghe feels the need to comfort him. To tell him his doing great and will find a solution. What can he say? The love of a mother (should he say father? He is currently in man’s body, but he took care of Binghe as a woman—) never fades.

It’s a silly idea, but Qinghua sneaks into the kitchen to prepare a little snack. Steamed millet buns. Very cheap and easy to make. He only needed millet flour (which was even cheaper than rice and widely cultivated in poor areas) and water. If they happen to be lucky enough to have more ingredients available then Qinghua added salt or a bit of onions. It used to be Binghe’s favorite— well, he said “everything mama makes is Bing-Bing favorite!”

Ah, he used to be so cute.

He finishes making the buns and brings him back to the court room. The other demon lords are gone and Binghe looks like he has a migraine. Qinghua approaches carefully trying to be brave.

“Junshang…” he calls softly. Before he can say something more Binghe opens his like he’s searching for something and sniffs the air. Then he finally looks at him, well, the tray in his hands.

“What is that?”

“Ah… steamed millet buns, my lord. I— I made them… for you?” Binghe just keeps staring at him as if he had grown another head. Qinghua clears his throat. “This servant thought Junshang should eat something after a long day.”

Binghe looks at the tray, then at him, then the tray again and he seems like his about to reject the offer. Qinghua holds his breath, already preparing for the burning sensation of rejection. Instead Binghe surprises him by saying:

“Bring it here.”

The peak lord nods and feels so excited he almost trips in his way to the throne. He offers the buns and Binghe stares at them with mild disgust (maybe because his treacherous shishu made them) and after long consideration he finally takes one.

He gives it a sniff before taking a big bite.

Binghe’s eyes open wide and for a brief moment they seem to shine. He keeps eating one after the other and Qinghua feels his heart fill with warmth at the sight remembering when Binghe was 3 years old and tried the buns for the first time.

“I’m glad Junshang enjoyed the buns.” Said the cultivator with a small but honest smile.

Binghe seems to finally realize what he had done and cleans the crumbs with his sleeve.

“Shang… shishu,” Wow, really having a hard time respecting your elders, huh, mister? “… made this on his own?”

“This one did!” He says proudly. “If Junshang desires this servant can always prepare more“ Qinghua offers because he knows his son enough to know he won’t ask for them again even if he loved them.

“… Do as you wish.” Oh, someone has been spending some time with his King. Doesn’t matter.

This is a good sign, right? First positive interaction with his son since forever— oh! Maybe he can prepare him some congee and mantuo next time? Yes! He can’t wait!

I have a theory about Airplane's original outline, the one he lost which was supposed to be mature and deal with more complicated themes than what PIDW actually became. Some posts on here made me curious about what other people would think of it.

What if Shen Yuan didn't transmigrate into a copy of PIDW, but the actual original outline?

We know Airplane lost the file when his computer randomly died and that he had plans for Tianlang-jun to be the final boss and for Shen Jiu to be a direct parallel to Luo Binghe.

We're not told when he lost the file.

What part of PIDW was he writing at that moment? Was it when Luo Binghe was 14? But he lost the file, discarded the original outline and went for the stallion novel.

While a new universe was born, as Airplane decided to satisfy his readers more than follow his own ideas, the original universe was left unfinished, lost without an ending.

The system has worked in other universes before, so it knows how to deal with this. It takes a soul from another world to finish the story and bring it to its original ending instead of the one in PIDW.

Who better than the author? Airplane, who had to discard his art to make money for a living. He'd be the perfect one for the job.

But, as we know, Airplane doesn't actually change much. The role of Shang Qinghua proves to be too removed from Luo Binghe, and he's not given enough incentive or instructions to do it.

The system learns from this first mistake: next it takes someone who hates the ending of the PIDW universe, and puts them right where the original outline stops, in a role deeply tied to Luo Binghe, giving them clear objectives and punishments if they don't follow the instructions.

It works.

Shen Yuan is dropped into the original outline and actually manages to deliver on all its promises. That's why Shen Jiu's past is revealed, why we get to know the truth of Tianlang-jun's relationship with Su Xiyan and all that the Palace Master did, all plot points that never existed in PIDW.

(Why the characters are much smarter, why the female characters have a personality other than being their archetypes)

You could argue that they do exist in PIDW, hidden under all the monster fighting and maiden fucking. But PIDW is a stallion novel, with tropes and a narrative that follow a certain structure. I can't imagine the events of svsss ever happening in a story like that.

The original outline though? Yeah, 100%. It already had the potential of being complicated, with all those secrets and mysteries, so it's not that hard for it to add the relationship that is born between Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu to the mix.

And, this is the reason why we only got to meet Bingge but not his original outline counterpart.

Let's be honest: if a third universe existed other than svsss and PIDW, with a lonely Luo Binghe that never finds love, you bet your ass he would eventually find his way to svsss like Bingge did. But it never happened.

Because Bingmei is him.

I would say that even Bingge can be argued to be have some trauma since his first time was coerced. Someone pointed out Bingge could've become hypersexual as a result of that trauma and that it made me see the whole harem thing in a new light (but it doesn't make him innocent since he forced himself on a bunch of wives). It really is such a recurring theme it's hinted for Shen Jiu and for Su Xiyan and Binghe with the Old Palace Master. Su Xiyan's story is even the catalyst for Binghe's tragic backstory... as for luo bingge, i didn't get into it in my tags bc… lowkey didn't expect ppl to read them lol (ty for doing so tho xx) and also he's quite a complicated case. we obviously can't say for certain since we see so little of him and what we do know is told to us thru multiple layers of unreliable narration, but i do think there is enough to suggest many of luo bingge's early sexual experiences were probably coerced or non-consensual, leading to trauma-induced hypersexual behavior. (edit: i am adding this parenthetical a few hours later after writing the rest of this and i didn't know how to fit it in otherwise so apologies, but i think it's worth pointing out that luo binghe - both bingmei and bingge, so i think we can consider it to be a core trait - do naturally have a much higher libido than most people. with bingmei we see how this causes issues for him in his relationship with shen qingqiu, but it's managed with kindness because sqq loves him and is patient enough to teach him boundaries and managed by binghe himself who loves and doesn't want to hurt sqq and who has been taught consent and respect from a younger age. when it comes to bingge, who lacks the sort of safe space provided by sqq and has no education in the matter, i think it's easy to see how he would have a much harder time understanding and managing his libido - again it isn't an excuse for SA, but this is just another convention of the genre that were it to be realised has horrible implications and consequences.)

but also, luo bingge lives in a world where healthy consensual sexual dynamics are so rarely modeled for him (the aforementioned coercive sex, but also constantly being gifted wives by other men, and the normalisation of rape in a world with sex pollen (sorry ik i already said that but like really it is so incredibly fucked up if you think about the implications of sex pollen in a real world)), and where he is being taught that the only way to be safe is to have physical power over others - of course we the reader know this is because it's being written as a venting male fantasy revenge story with a target audience of incels, but concretely this is bad for luo bingge's psyche, and you know, also leads him to do horrible things in retaliation and hurt and innombrable amount of people

and again, i don't know how much of this was really intentional on mxtx's part and how much i am reading into it, but svsss is about making one-dimensional smut novel characters into fully realised people and extrapolating out the implications for what it would mean for that world to be a real one. like, shanq qinghua and especially shen qingqiu have to learn that the people they live with are not as simple as they might have appeared on the screen of the webnovel. and part of the extrapolating, from my read of svsss, involves interrogating the ways characters have and have had their agency infringed upon in the original pidw and finding ways to return their agency to them in svsss. this is perhaps most clearly seen in the way all the "wife" characters in svsss are allowed to be their own people separate from binghe, with different passions and drives and again, agency to direct their own lives, contrary to sqq's expectations of them. however this also involves bringing to light just how pervasive and damaging the sexual violence in the original story really is, by showing the abuse that su xiyan suffered, by showing how binghe is negatively affected by xin mo and the other coercive elements of this world, by subverting expectations with shen jiu and showing how he was also a victim, and by making the only truly irredeemably evil character the old palace master, a disgusting old pervert and sexual harasser.

anyways yeah i think it's a really interesting aspect of svsss, and while i can understand why it might not be at the forefront of everyone's mind (good lord is it a BUMMER to think about), it would be a disservice to the narrative to forget it entirely.
