AN EVENT IN HONOR OF ÉOMER KING'S BIRTHDAY!

(Thank you for your questions, everyone! I am gradually working through all of them. Please see this link for a growing masterlist of the answers).

I am going back to my roleplaying roots to celebrate Éomer's birthday, which I've headcanoned is on May 9th! This means that over the course of the week of May 9 through May 16, 2025, you will be able to ask Éomer any question you like, on anon or as yourself, and I WILL RESPOND IN CHARACTER, like so:

Anon : Your Majesty, what is your favorite way to make love to the Queen? Éothain : Why -- he sputters -- how dare you?! The insolence! How dare you ask the King of Rohan such a question?! Éomer : Peace, Éothain! -- He chuckles, a mischievous smile curling his lip and slipping into his almond-shaped eyes -- It takes courage to ask such a question, and I, for one, have always been one to reward valor. For your courage, you will get a reward of a horse from my stables, but not an answer. Does that please you? -- He laughs, heartily, his mirth overtaking his whole face.

BIRTHDAY LORE : While Éomer has no specific birth date mentioned in canon, I've decided that he is a Taurus based on personality -- grounded, dedicated, brave, and true, with a soft spot for creature comforts and stability, which he sorely lacked in his early years. I've also made his birthday coincident with V-E Day, the anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe, because of the role Éomer had in bringing the War of the Ring to an end. V-E Day is celebrated on May 8th or 9th, depending on the country.

EVENT RULES / FAQ :

You may submit questions between the dates of May 9 and May 16, 2025. Questions may be answered during that time, or afterwards.

Because both Éomer and I have many responsibilities, there may be a delay in our response, so if possible, please consider asking off anon if you're comfortable. That way, you will get notified when the response comes. Otherwise, you may keep having to check my blog. In the end, however, worry not -- replies will be tagged "eomer birthday ask event," and eventually a link will be posted in my masterlist to all of them.

Answers will be based on Tolkien's canon and my version of Éomer in The Golden Hall.

You may ask a question that Éomer does not feel comfortable answering. In that case, he will let you know in character -- or, you will get a strongly worded letter from his secretary, Éothain.

Despite the sample response above, asking Éomer an inappropriate/overly private question does NOT guarantee a horse from his stables or any other reward for your valor.

Okay sats, it's here. We've suffered all year, now it's time to see which cunty little Jeff fit reigns supreme for 2023!

Instructions for how it will work is below. Nominations are now open! And will close on the 20th of Dec, 1pm AEDT. Here's a link to a time zone converter.

Submission rules:

Images must be from 2023, and must be submitted with a nominated category. Images submitted with no category will be admired dutifully, but then discarded. 

Submit an image to this blog with a nominated category. You are allowed to submit as many as you like!

The categories are:

Promo Event: this can be a music award, brand event, sponsorship appearance or affiliated sponsorship photo post.

For a music award event if Jeff performed: the outfit on the red carpet would go under promo event, the outfit on stage would go under concert

Music Video Any outfit from Jeff’s music videos and collaborated music videos. This also includes promo like the Space Shuttle number 8 video, as it has the similar levels of planning/art direction.

Concert: Any outfit Jeff wears on stage.

Magazine: Any outfit from a magazine shoot.

*If you have a photo with a fit that doesn’t seem to fit any of the above nominated categories but you really want it in, nominate it with Misc, and we will try to shoehorn it into one we think it fits, if we can. This isn’t gonna be an exact science 💖

Winnowing down submissions

(This will be the trickiest bit and will need the most participation. So please, look upon the Jeffy images and cast your valued votes upon your most favoured fits….)

Submissions will be gathered under four categories, and posted under a cut (this will be four separate posts, one for each category). Each image will be numbered. Each person gets three votes per category, and can choose their top three images by commenting. 

For example, you can comment under a post: I choose 21, 9, and 8!

Each image you choose gets one vote. If you are biased you can do this:

I choose 11, 11, and 11

PLEASE be cutthroat. It will both be funny, and help us winnow down the images.

The top images will be chosen by the highest number of votes cast.

The top five in each category will then progress to the next round.

Vote for your favorite in each category. The four winners of each category will move on to the finals.

The week of Dec. 15-Dec. 21 I'm going to post characters who are 'Not quite butch' but still somewhat masculine.

For example, I'll be reposting Korra and Catra; Mulan and Garnet will finally get polls.

Boeing had submitted a proposal on July 3 and an adjusted proposal on September 20 covering the necessary supplies and services for fabrication and delivery of the stages."

These were for the second production run of the Saturn V, possibly corresponding to Apollo 21-30 and later two were planned to launch Voyager 1 and 2. The long lead items for S-IC-16 and S-IC-17 had already started when the decision was announced and any materials already gathered were scrapped. Although NASA concluded to lobby for funding for SA-516 and SA-517 (along with Saturn IBs SA-215 and SA-216) until August 1968.

I’ve done Freedom of Info requests to BOTH the NYPD and Met Police asking specifically for the letter dated Dec 6, 2023. BOTH sent me only the letter dated Sept 18, 2023. At first I thought it was clerical error but now I suspect that the “revised” letter was never sent to RASP-Met Police and was ONLY used as evidence in the lawsuit.EDITED TO ADD:FYI...The "revised" letter was submitted as evidence to the High Court on Dec 7, 2023 for Harry's lawsuit for taxpayer-funded security in the UK and is mentioned in the High Court's judgement dated Feb 28, 2024 (paragraphs 135 and 209). There is NO mention of a letter dated September 18, 2023 in the judgement. hi, i really like your theory for maroon and now the ghosting date.

i’m not sure if this would help or not as additional info but in canada/commonwealth countries 11/11 is remembrance day (i know in the us its called veterans day). the poppy being the symbol to emerge from the great war due to the popularity of “In Flanders Fields”, a canadian poem, which according to wikipedia was first published Dec 8, 1915.

just thought cause she’ll be in canada for the remaining dates and (not sure if it was you) someone said K is the 11th letter, so maybe its time to remember her cause they honour those that fought and survived the great war.

As far as your first statement, yes the reason remembrance day is 11/11 is because of The Great War/World War I, and that is exactly why Taylor uses "place a poppy in my hair" as the poppy takes place after her and her lover survived The Great War. The end, which as I had mentioned previously, ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

So we can infer the ending of The Great War within the song is 11/11/24 or beyond.

The poppy becoming the symbol of choice due to that poem however is not something I was aware of! I find it very interesting that the publishing date is Dec 8th considering Tour ends Dec 8th and my theory about the Dec 13th coming out following shortly after.

In regards to the mention of K=11, I was not the original commenter of that yesterday under my post but yes I did respond to it reinforcing it and yes I have been aware that 11/11 = K/K for quite some time!

It's been the core basis of my theory as to why on 11/11/21 Taylor said the can I plan something 3 years in advance and that she was going to try to do it quote. Exactly 3 years later is Nov 10th 2024 or if we go strictly off of the date it would be 11/11/24. Either works. And I think both apply. Nov 10th being the ghosting and Nov 11th being the breakup, whether it's figurative for the plot or a literal breakup announcement.

I agree with the idea that this was purposeful as 11/11 or the end of The Great War will mark a milestone that leads to the freedom of Kaylor.. in which for the longest I could only see this as being the FINAL bearding breakup before the curtain is pulled on everything. Hence why she is also walking the yellow brick road lately.

But now that that date is upon us... we will soon know if all of the above is true. I am anticipating tomorrow just as much as the rest of you and I feel truly honored to see my research and theories come/coming to life!

I am going back to my roleplaying roots to celebrate Sam's birthday, which is on April 6th! This means that over the course of the week of April 6 through April 12, you will be able to ask Sam any question you like, on anon or as yourself, and I WILL RESPOND IN CHARACTER!

ABOUT SAM :

Arguably, Samwise Gamgee who needs no introduction, since he is the second "most famousest of hobbits," after Frodo Baggins. He was the Bagginses' loyal gardener for many years, and later Frodo's factotum butler, as well as his stalwart companion all the way to the cracks of Mount Doom, where the One Ring was destroyed. He is known for a number of pearls of hobbitish wisdom, including "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you," and "taters: mash em', boil em', stick 'em in a stew." He never goes anywhere without his trusty set of pots and pans, is very dangerous with a frying pan, and has served as the Mayor of Michel Delving for seven consecutive terms, totaling an impressive 49 years.

EVENT RULES :

You may submit questions between April 6, and April 12, 2025. Questions may be answered during that time, or afterwards. Replies will be tagged "sam birthday ask event," and eventually a link will be posted in my masterlist to all of them, so if you don't see an answer right away, please check back after a few days.

You may ask a question that Sam does not feel comfortable answering. In that case, however, he will let you know – in character -- and will likely be profusely apologetic.

Answers will be based on my version of Sam in The Flowers of Mordor, since that is the Sam I feel most comfortable writing. As a result, there will be some divergence from Tolkien's timeline: namely, in the FOM canon, Frodo hasn't left the Shire. As a result, if you ask Sam whether he misses Frodo, he won't know what you're talking about, and may respond as follows:

Anon: Do you miss Frodo now that he's gone?

Sam: "Why, sir -- or madam -- I'm sorry, I can't rightly tell what with the veil coverin' your face -- I don't understand your meanin'. 'Cause as far as I know, Frodo's safe an' sound, livin' just down the lane with Mari an' their little ones. Why, I've just come from there myself, a few hours ago. Are you tellin' me that somethin's happened to him since?"
