Lá no coração de Damyang nasceu Sunhee, uma garota que sempre foi muito sonhadora e cheia de desejos, aquele tipo de criança que você tem vontade de rir ao ver o quão pura para o mundo ela parecia ser. A coreana veio de uma família de fazendeiros que cultivam morangos e outras frutas de estação, eles não tinham uma vida tão estável assim mas era boa o suficiente para que vivessem de forma saudável; e no fim das contas ela sempre foi muito grudada com seus pais e estar com eles já era o suficiente.

Nunca fez o tipo estudiosa, mesmo ainda nova ela falava sobre trabalhar e ajudar sua família, arrumando empregos aqui e ali e não dando muita atenção para sua vida acadêmica. Não sonhava com nenhum tipo de graduação e pouco se importava com suas notas, no máximo a pequena se enfiava em alguns cursos técnicos e preparatórios de curto tempo de duração. apesar da vida caótica e incerta, ela estava feliz.

Em determinado momento a pequena conheceu Haruto, um rapaz japonês que dizia morar em Seul, a capital que a garota nunca tinha tido chance de visitar anteriormente e só conhecia por fotos e vídeos. durante a troca de mensagens diárias dos dois, aos poucos as coisas evoluíram para ligações e videochamadas, quando Sunhee se deu conta já estava perdidamente apaixonada pelo homem.

Todos os amigos da garota diziam que isso lhe traria problemas e que ela não deveria se entregar tanto para alguém que mal conhecia, só que a coreana estando cega pelo amor que sequer pensava nas estranhezas e inconsistências em algumas coisas que o jovem lhe dizia e mostrava. A pedido de Haruto, ela começou a juntar economias para que pudesse viajar para a capital, vez ou outra mandando dinheiro para o outro que dizia estar passando por necessidades e precisando de ajuda com a mãe doente. A pequena nunca questionou.

Mesmo com as pessoas ao seu redor lhe dizendo para não fazer isso, Sunhee juntou suas coisas e foi embora para Seul com uma passagem só de ida, planejando viver lá ao lado do seu namorado. o que ela não esperava é que fosse chegar no local e não encontraria nada. A casa onde ele dizia viver não existia, a mãe doente não existia, até mesmo “Haruto” não existia, já que seu nome e sua vida haviam sido totalmente inventados. O homem aplicou um golpe na mais nova levando todo seu dinheiro que ele havia pedido para que ela transferisse para si, deixando ela perdida e sem um teto.

Tentou recorrer a polícia mas eles nunca encontraram o homem, quase como se ele realmente nunca tivesse existido. A garota até podia tentar voltar para a zona rural onde nasceu, só que não conseguia, estava se sentindo idiota e envergonhada demais para revelar aos seus amigos e familiares o que aconteceu. Ela passou um tempo pulando de uma pousada para outra, em algumas noites tendo que dormir na rua pois dinheiro lhe faltava. Sempre que seus pais ligavam ela segurava o choro e dizia que estava tudo bem com um enorme sorriso em seu rosto, prometendo que logo os traria para conhecer Seul.

Sunhee sabia que só chorar e se lamentar não resolveria seu problema, então ela tentou se virar. Arrumou trabalhos aqui e ali, juntando dinheiro para alugar um local para si, agradecendo por encontrar uma oportunidade de dividir despesas com alguém no Acropolis Complex, um condomínio que parecia muito melhor do que qualquer outro lugar onde ela ficou. Investiu em seu currículo, tentando fazer cursos novos buscando algo que pudesse ser sua vocação. Arrumou um emprego estável em um estabelecimento próximo onde vivia, mesmo ainda incerta sobre o que realmente queria para seu futuro, ao menos agora ela conseguia ter certa estabilidade financeira.

Após o passar de alguns meses, disse para seus amigos que o relacionamento não tinha dado certo e eles terminaram em “bons termos”. Não queria contar de fato a verdade, mesmo que odiasse mentiras mais do que qualquer coisa. Seria melhor assim, não queria preocupar ninguém. Sunhee ainda tinha muitas cicatrizes e problemas com os quais precisava lidar, entretanto nada disso a fazia perder seu sorriso e bondade. Muitos podiam ainda a ver como trouxa e inocente, entretanto ela não queria mudar. Aos poucos tentava tomar as rédeas da sua vida e quem sabe poderia construir algo bom para si em Seul.

sunhee had never really been one to venture far from her home, so finding herself in the dusk court was far from what she could have ever expected. as much as she hated to admit it she was kind of terrified about being in this new place. the only thing she remotely was okay was the fact that there was definitely some pretty scenes that she could paint. scenes that she hadn't seen before. the only thing that hindered her being able to paint any of the scenes she was seeing was that she wasn't able to get back to her studio. sunhee was going to need to find supplies or a studio here if she was going to want to paint at all. "umm, do you by any chance know where an art studio might be?" she asked awkwardly. "or where i could get art supplies?"

Now N New _ 하나되어 (1999)

Once upon a time in 1999, various stars came together to create a project song called 'Become One'. The purpose was to raise funds to help those affected by the 1997 IMF. The proceeds were donated to the unemployed relief fund.

I know I am a bit late to this party, but this was a real treat to watch and listen to, especially seeing your favorite artists come together in a song for a good cause. This really reminded me of the 'We Are The World' era.

This music video contains at least 99% of my favorite singers... but for some reason I totally geeked over Jaewook (Position) being included... xD (He looked so cute)

Along side Position, I really enjoyed seeing my other favorite ballad singers like Im Changjung, Lee Seunghwan, Shin Seunghoon..

Kim Hyunjung, 1TYM, Kim Kyungho, Lee Junghyun, Jo Sungmo, Uhm Junghwa, Lee Seungchul, Jinusean, Fin.K.L, Jekki, etc.. Were also included... so many of my favorite stars in one!

So many stars, but my eyes always go to Lim Jaewook... xD You can also notice that this is the same era of 'Blue Day'. I loved his hair during this era! He looks so cute!

Enough talk about Position, but this project collaboration was truly revolutionary. (Majority) of the popular stars at the time came together for a great cause and to help those unemployed from the 1997 IMF. It is really bittersweet.

Apparently, in 2021, stars of the current generation came together for 'Now N New 2021' version of this song. I haven't watched it yet, but honestly I am not that interested in the modern version.

after practice

prior to being a trainee, noel has seemed to work everywhere. if he wasn’t at school, he’d often be at one of his part-time jobs. with becoming a trainee he had to quit a few jobs, but he remained being busy. noel had made a lot of friends through work, even the places he only worked a short time at he’d made friends from. noel enjoyed working, whatever was thrown at him, it was an opportunity to see others which he was quite happy with due to how social was, and it was an opportunity to make money.

he’s been a bit busy with project green lately, mainly just seen his fellow project green members. and as much as noel enjoys spending time with them, he misses seeing other faces. he’s agreed to meet up with a friend ( @besunhee ) and old colleague once practice is done. he’s tired but the cold air is waking him up. he steps into the café, waving excitedly at sunhee, “are you finished with work yet?” he asks as he walks up to her.

merry christmas! (already?)

the thirty-first was barely over, she’d barely taken off the costume, and then it was time for christmas season. ria loved christmas, and as soon as it was november first for ria, she would start listening to christmas music, find her christmas pajamas and start planning her christmas gifts. usually her parents wouldn’t let her decorate their house until december, but as her brother wasn’t living in his apartment at the moment, ria had taken over it and it was already decorated for christmas.

she’s invited sunhee over, evil christmas intentions in her mind. “hey sunhee!” she says with a smile on her lips, welcoming in the other. “i hope you don’t mind my brother’s dog and cat is here, i’m kinda taking care of them while he isn't here”. she’s walking down the hallway before turning around to look at the other “the reason why i invited you over? i wanted to practice christmas make up on someone else! i know some might think november is too early for all the christmas stuff, but as you can see” she looks around at all the christmas decorations hanging “i begin doing christmas stuff as soon as it becomes november”.
