outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978

(to reiterate, mike is 21 and should be at the club. im not saying he shouldn't be rampaging, im saying it's sad that he broke out, tasted freedom for the first time in his life, and immediately snuck back into his childhood home to go rampaging. let's have a remake where he goes to a nightclub and has a few beers. maybe some slutty dancing. then rampage)

I'm curious now, but do you have any tips for creating a language? I've been wanting to make languages for a few story eras in my AUs, and I've just skimmed over your starspeak language for your AU, and I find it very interesting!

ohhh that sounds so much fun!!! languages spanning multiple eras is a big undertaking and i wish you luck withit!!

there are certainly a dozen far more comprehensive resources out there on conlangs than what i could give you, and there are diverse and passionate communities dedicated just to it!

i'm only messing around for my own fun. i don't think my conlang would hold up under deep scrutiny and it's certainly a novice work, and i'm not talking with other folks who are big into linguistics or anything. none the less, my first and foremost advice with any creative endeavour is to do what is most fun and easy for you!!

for me, this looked like: Ease (because i'm lazy and i did this only for fun and personal use) and Cultural Basis Of The Language (because i'm interested in spec bio, and language/culture is a big part of that). if you find other things most enjoyable, then whatever those are should be your priorities instead!

i took a couple of existing languages and language conventions that suited for my needs (my language is star based, so i looked into bayer designation and similar astronomical designations) and then made mashup words from translations. this was quick and easy, though i'm sure any true conlang creator would find it lazy or even improper; i run the strong risk of bastardizing real words by accident!

i also like to think about how the culture or biology or history of the species would impact the language. i've spoken before about my 'endearment' word, Vaýtita, which means gravity. this is important to the star based species i'm working with, because gravity is one of the few forces that can impact a star.

this sort of stuff is the most compelling to me-- if they don't have "hearts, "love", and "soul", what forces are important to them? if they are genderless and don't need pronouns, what do they use instead and how to they delineate individuals in conversation (if they do)? if hierarchy is critically important, how does their sentence structure incorporate hierarchy into everyday language?

you also can study a lot of real earth languages to see the enormous variety in how sentences are put together, about different particles, and so on!! to me, there's no reason why alien languages* would be spoken in any recognisable way with things like word order, so i switch this all over the show. but again, only if you find this sorta thing fun!! otherwise you can just make literally whatever you enjoy!!

I'm just thinking... Tomorrow's episode trailer follows the episodes where Ghostblade relationship with Nuonuo, his daughter (like we can't refuse that) were the main focus of his appearances. We have also seen Johnny's father being killed (?) by Ghostblade, and we know that he cared about his child a lot, so his death and Johnny's grief may be some sort of the awakening for Ghostblade. So two characters we know, two kids of theirs they love, parental relationship supposedly in focus of the dramatic part. And you know who's the third character from the trailer we know? Who also has a kid?

What’s a canon warrior cat couple that the fandom loves but you personally dislike/could never get into?

this is actually a really interesting question since i feel like the fandom dislikes... MOST of the canon couples LMAO or are very split on them, and the ones people DO like (cloudtail x brightheart, firestar x sandstorm, etc) i usually also like lol

i don't know if the fandom LOVES tree x violetshine, but i've never seen anyone really dislike the ship either and i... i don't like the ship lmao, like at all, like they're kind of cute in the broken code and if that had been the only thing i had read about them then i'd probably like it, but...

i don't really care about tree as a character, just in general, for some reason i just cannot get myself to care about him, like he SHOULD be interesting and neat, but for some reason i find him not BORING, but uninteresting, maybe BECAUSE of how uninterested HE is in the clans, it's only when he's actually invested in anyone or anything (like how he was invested in helping and protecting his son and family in tbc) that i become more interested in him

but more than that though... him getting with violetshine just feels really forced and... weird... like tree was an ADULT who met her MOTHER while she was pregnant with her and pebbleshine was like "i feel like our destinies are intertwined" and it's like, yeah, he's gonna help your unborn daughters see you and then marry one of them, he also helped needletail, essentially violetshine's foster/adopted mother/sister, when she was an apprentice and he was AN ADULT

like, we don't know how much older he is than her exactly, but i think when tree's roots came out i was able to estimate that he was probably roughly about the same age as pebbleshine was when they met, which pebbleshine was very young when she had her kits, probably only like less than a year and a half or around that age, which normally that age gap wouldn't really be that weird or bad, ESPECIALLY since they technically met when they were adults, but the fact that tree was just so... involved and intertwined with violetshine's mother and foster/adopted mother/sister and then he was like "oh i am in love with the child of the mother i helped keep safe before she gave birth to said child" is so

I have a habit of keeping a list of rotating mangas/manhwas/webcomics to read as I often find myself starting new stories while waiting for others to update. I've started SSoaSK a year ago and finished all 60 chapters it had back then and left it sitting in my bookmarks until yesterday when I realised it's reached 204 chapters.

Since it's been a year since I've read the first 60 chapters I've forgotten pretty much everything about its plot, background and who the main characters even are. Relying on only vague recollections from rereading the 60th chapter, I thought I'd have to give up eventually and reread all 60 chapters to get the gist of what's happening again - only to find myself crying within 5 chapters.

I didn't expect myself to get emotional when I barely remember the story, but I think the artists/author did an amazing job of keeping the plot relevant and heartwrenching, that it didn't take long for me to be hooked.

5 chapters guys. 5 and I was crying for characters I was just reintroduced to.

Obviously, bits and pieces of the story came back to me the more I read + I happen to have picked up the story when it was nearing the climax of one of its story arcs - still, I didn't expect myself to be so invested.

I spent a whole day + morning catching up to the most recent chapter and I can tell you all that I've cried at least another 2 times.

I am now experiencing the effects of manhwa withdrawal and have been looking high and low for content to slake my thirst as I wait for more chapters BUT!

THERE AREN'T ANY- HOW???????

Therefore I turn to tumblr seeking for fellow readers of SSoaSK - if not convince some to join me on this adventure- because if no one's going to talk with me about Ryu Hanbin and his misfit god defying group-
