I reinstalled Fallout Shelter and I ways forget how much it irritates me bc. Its a genuinely fun lil game! When you're ALLOWED to actually PLAY it
Like im gonna be so real and so vunerable I have a weakness for idle games bc often I really enjoy the actual gameplay loops and Number Go Ups, it's just absolutely infuriating having to leave it to cook for a couple hours between being Allowed to actually engage with it
#from memory fallout shelter is a bit better with that the longer you play#cause more dwellers more shit to manage = more time actually playing between cooldowns#but. yeah.#and like i GET it i KNOW its all intentional predatory design choices to trick people into throwing money at it#but fortunately i am extremely stubborn in that regard#i *will* sometimes pay for mobile games but generally only for blanket unlocks/ad removals and i wont pay more than a fiver#ill buy a game i enjoy. i wont fucking subscribe to earn fake currency for busywork#but yeah#i miss classic management sims man#your roller coaster tycoons and thene hospitals and dungeon keepers and pharaohs#i know some equivelants still exist (i have 2 point hospital on switch ive just hit a bit of a wall with it)#and my issue is most are pc. i want this shit on mobile or switch! i want casual easily accessible ganeplay#bc i have baby brain and also alfie is often using the ps5 asfggjfj

how do you get your text that soft pink shade? tutorial?
BABY PINK TEXT TUTORIAL !
hi babe!! here's a short and hopefully easy to understand tutorial for the text i use in my posts ᥫ᭡
also, just a little disclaimer: the images on this post might not be visible because they exceed the limit of 10 images per post on mobile app. should be fine on a laptop or pc though!!
okay firstly, make sure you're using a laptop and open your post in one tab and in a seperate tab open jsfiddle.
you should be able to see this coding somewhere on your screen:

you're gonna replace the two hex-codes (highlighted text) with whichever colours you'd like. to do a gradient, like this, the two codes will be different, but i like to do a solid colour like this so my codes will be the same.
the hex code i use for the baby pink is D2A3BE, or you can use your own. if you don't have a hex code you like yet, you can use the colour picker on this site to find one!
just copy and paste the hex codes into the code so it looks like this:
make sure it looks exactly like this. you still need all the spaces, quotations and other code. only change the hex codes.
in the top left of your screen, there should be a "run" button, and when you press it, the colours in the bottom right should change from the default ones to the ones you chose.
next, you're going to open your tumblr post in your first tab.

your post will start like this. you'll go to the settings button in the top right (circled) and change the post from rich text to HTML
this will enable coding on the post. you'll still have 'preview' where it will look normal and you can still type and edit the post as you usually would.
once you've typed something it will show it in the HTML option just in a different way:
you want to go to the preview page and make sure you've got the text looking exactly as you want it (bold, italic, small, etc.). also note that colours look especially good and show up well when the text is bold. i set mine to bold as an example.
when you switch to HTML it will look something like it does above.
next, you'll copy the text between all the coding prompts (e.g. <p><b> and <b><p>). only copy the text you want to be pink or another colour!! don't highlight any of the coding. then paste it this top box on jsfiddle so it looks like this:
press "run" on the right, and it will spit out a line of code in the second box that will look something like this:
you're gonna copy that line of code and switch over to your tumblr tab. on your HTML version of your post, find the text you're changing and highlight it. then paste the code into that spot. make sure not to highlight any of the surrounding code - only the text you've written and want to change.
it will look super weird and long because it's colouring each symbol and letter, if you look closely, each letter of "example text" is separated and surrounded by code. when you switch to preview it will look like this:
for gradient, the process is the exact same, but on jsfiddle, when you're replacing the default hex codes with yours, the second hex code you plug in will be different to the one you start with. for example:
this second colour is C45494 btw!!
to do specific text in a paragraph as if bolding it (which i do in a lot of my posts), you just want to find that text in your HTML post, and copy and paste the specific word/s into your top box on jsfiddle, and then proceed as normal. example:
hopefully this helped!! let me know if you have any questions or need me to go over anything ( ˘³˘)

We Don't Gatekeep Art Resources | A Comprehensive List
Here's a list of some of the tools/sites I currently use or have used previously for works/studies. I'll separate it into Software/Utility, Reference, and 'Other' which will be just general things that could help you map out things for your experience with art. **[Free highlighted in pink, paid highlighted in green. Blue is variable/both. Prices Listed in USD]**
Software/Utility:
2D
Krita Painting app (PC) (my main digital art software on PC for 5+ yrs)
Clip Studio Paint [PC] [CSP 2.0+ allows for 3d modelling within the painting app and a lot of other cool features] [apparently allows up to 6 months free trial]
Procreate (12.99) [iPad/iPad Pro] (the GOAT)
Artstudio Pro [iPad/iPad Pro] (An alternative to Procreate if you enjoy the more traditional art app layout) -- I find this app handy when Procreate is lacking a feature I need, or vice versa. (you can easily transfer files between the two, but keep in mind Procreate's layer limit)
2D "Collaborative Painting/Drawing apps"
Magma Studio
Drawpile
Discord Whiteboard
Gartic Phone (Pretty decent for 2d animation practice, but has a hard limit on frames)
3D
Blender [3D Modelling, Sculpting + Layout] (PC)
Sculptris [PC] (it's an old unsupported version of Zbrush, but can help to get ideas out, and functions better than browser sculpting apps
Nomad Sculpt [iPad/iPad Pro] ($20) Works pretty well if you prefer a mobile setup, but it is a bit intense on the battery life and takes some getting used to
References + Study
Magic Poser [ PC and Mobile ] Has both free and paid versions, I've made do with just the lite version before
Artpose ($9.99) [Iphone + Steam]
Head Model Studio [IPhone] A 3D head, with both a basic blockout version for angles, and a paid version with more detail
Cubebrush [simply search "[keyword] pose reference pack"], they usually have good results + they frequently have sales!
Line of Action [Good for Gesture practice + daily sketching], also has other resources built in.
Quickposes Similar to Line of action, more geared toward anatomy
Drawabox | Perspective Fundamentals Improvement modules (Suggested by @taffingspy )
Sketchfab, this skull in particular is useful, but there is other models that can help you study anatomy as well.
Pinterest can be good, you just have to be careful, usually you're better off just finding reference pack if you have the money, sometimes certain creators have freebies as well
Artstation Marketplace can be decent [make sure to turn on the Aye-Eye filter so it doesn't feed you trash], a colleague of mine recommended this head model for practicing facial blocking, there is also this free version without lighting.
Local Art Museums [Unironically good for studying old "master work" if you're into that, or even just getting some inspiration]
Brushes + Other Useful software:
I personally have used both of these brush packs before making my own
(I actually don't know how to share my daily brush set because I frequently switch between Krita, Procreate, and ASP, but once I figure that out I'll be sure to do that lol)
Marc Brunet's Starter brush pack [Technically free but supporting him for this if you like it is ideal, there's some good brushes]
Dave Greco Brush Pack [$3]
Gumroad in general is a good place to find brushes and art resources. *Note; for Krita specifically, brush packs are a bit weird, so it may require you to find different packs, or import them in a particular way
PureRef [PC] - Reference Compiler/Moodboarding
VizRef ($3.99) [iPad] - Moodboarding/Reference Compiler
Artist Youtubers/Creators that helped me improve/guide me along as a self-taught artist from when I first started digital art to where I am today:
Proko
Marco Bucci
Sinix Design
Sycra
Hardy Fowler
Lighting Mentor
Winged Canvas
Moderndayjames
Swatches
Chommang_drawing
Marc Brunet (YTartschool)
+ Observing a lot of speedpaint art by people whose work I enjoy on social media/youtube, trying to dissect their processes
If you've gotten this far, first of all, congrats, you can read a lot, and second of all, thank you for reading and I hope this helps! I'll continue to come back and update this if I find any new resources in the future, or if my processes change :)
Much Love,
-Remidiy

Nintendo Direct 3/27/2025 Predictions
Inexplicably, less than a week ahead of the Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct that is explicitly for upcoming Switch 1 games. Let's speculate!
Metroid Prime 4 release date. Even though I think Metroid Prime 4 will be a showpiece for the Switch 2, it is still technically a Switch game, as it was announced in Summer 2017. Surely there was some PR calculus going on that a scuffed Switch version that run correctly on the Switch 2 would be better than making it Switch 2 exclusive. Or maybe it's perfect on the Switch and this will be Nintendo's final magic trick for the system.
Kirby: Planet Robobot Port/Remaster. Between leaks suggesting as much and GoodSmile coincidentally putting the Robobot Armor Nendoroid pre-orders that will come out July 2025, this is most assuredly happening. The real question is: will the extra mode ala Return to Dreamland Deluxe's Magolor Epilogue be focused on Susie or the Robobot Armor?
New Fire Emblem. Engage came out at the start of 2023, and development was done for over a year before it released according to the leaks that came out a few months before it was revealed. Hard to think IntSys hasn’t been cooking up something in the meantime, whether it’s a new installment or a remake.
Chrono Trigger HD-2D remake. 30th Anniversary, Square-Enix's HD-2D games have been doing extremely well, every conveniently accessible version of Chrono Trigger is scuffed in some way, not unlike the bad mobile ports of Dragon Quest I-III (which, for the record, the DQIII HD-2D remake sold like gangbusters). This is a pretty safe bet.
Koei Tecmo Does Some Shit. I think it's really weird Nintendo announced they're adding a bunch of Koei's SNES strategy games to the Switch Online on 3/28. That feels like some kind of calculated move, but I couldn't possibly say for what, since neither Romance of the Three Kingdoms nor Nobunaga's Ambition are especially well-beloved in the West. Also, Dynasty Warriors Origins and Warriors Abyss just came out, so I have no idea what they could be cooking.
New Mario Kart, also coming to Switch. On the one hand, that new Mario Kart is without a doubt being positioned as the Killer App for the Switch 2, but on the other, the attach rate for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is insane- statistically, if you own a Switch, you own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I feel like they’d want to capitalize on that by making it available everywhere, in the same way Sony caved and made Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok available on the PS4.
Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4 shadowdrop (to be followed shortly afterwards on PC and other consoles). Frankly, I was kind of expecting an announcement to be made during the Switch 2 Direct- I genuinely think Toby Fox has that kind of cache with Nintendo these days- but this seems an even more likely avenue to do this.
Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection and Dissidia Duodecim Switch Port (new content optional). These have no basis in reality, I just want to will them into existence.
Silksong Cancelled Live.

Hello! I’m 25+ and seeking like-minded writers to explore fandom MxM roleplay as well as OC x OC MxM narratives. Ideally, I’m looking for a partner with minimal triggers/limits who can maintain moderate activity (a few replies per week), and values regular OOC communication to keep the story cohesive and engaging. I appreciate partners who enjoy casual OOC chatter - whether it’s sharing headcanons, fanart, playlists, or simply discussing ideas - as I believe a strong rapport outside the story enhances the creative process. If this sounds like you style please read on!
About My Writing:
I write multi-paragraph responses, typically ranging between 400-900 words. Length isn’t a strict requirement for me, but I do value equality in effort. If you’re consistently writing less than three reasonably sized paragraphs, we might not be the best match.
What I'm looking for:
Characters with depth and agency: I’m drawn to strong, multifaceted personalities. No one-dimensional victims or damsels in distress. Vulnerability is welcome, but it should feel authentic and balanced, not melodramatic like a telenovela.
Exploration of complex themes: I thrive on angst, heavy subject matter, and emotionally charged narratives. Characters with mental vulnerability or dark edges are especially compelling to me.
Romance with nuance: While I enjoy traditional romance, I’m particularly fascinated by toxic dynamics, power struggles, and dom x dom interactions. Non-con is a favorite of mine, especially when it’s explored reciprocally with both characters taking turns to exact punishment or revenge on each other.
Top or switch partners: I prefer writing against partners who either write tops or switches. I've been locked too many times in the top/dom role so I'm not interested in pairing with exclusive bottoms. That being said, rest assured that I do I enioy writing as a top for partners I trust and am very committed to maintaining a fair and varied exchange between roles.
**Fandoms & Pairings:**
Below, I’ve addes asterisk to the characters I’d prefer to write. If both are in asterisks, I’m happy to play either! (Is bolded text even working on Tumblr? Because it isn't for me.)
Jujutsu Kaisen:
- **Satoru Gojo** x **Suguru Geto**
- Ryomen Sukuna x **Satoru Gojo**
- Toji Fushiguro x **Suguru Geto**
My Hero Academia:
- **Katsuki Bakugo** x **Shoto Todoroki**
- Katsuki Bakugo x **Eijiro Kirishima**
- **Natsuo Todoroki** x Touya Todorok
If any of this resonates with you, please interact with this post and I’ll reach out! Looking forward to creating something dark and unforgettable with you all. 🫶
Bolded text works on tumblr! Were you on mobile or PC? It works when you send an ask through https://www.tumblr.com/darkrpfinders and not https://darkrpfinders.tumblr.com/ask
I don't know why they don't let you customize text through the second link, so it's best to send asks through the first link. The difference is that you can use the tumblr text editor with the first link and not the second. To bold your text, highlight the text you want to bold and the options should show if you're using the app or first link!

Ena Ǝ tutorial thing
okay so no one's actually asked me to make this but I know it is a character you can have on your keyboard, so if anyone wants to know how to find it I have this!
Note that I don't know how to do it on PC or laptop because I rarely use those for casual stuff- this is mobile/tablet or essentially anything where the keyboard comes up on the screen.
However! If you do have that kind of device, it's pretty easy. Most devices these days allow you to have different languages on your keyboard (e.g. switching between an English keyboard and a Chinese keyboard), and using different languages gives you different options for umlauts and whatnot. The turned/reversed E is the uppercase form of ǝ, and it's used in languages that use the Pan-Nigerian alphabet. Thus, to get the character (and a shit TON of other umlauts too), you should use a keyboard for that. In my phone, which uses Google Keyboard (I know, I know, shitty company, but it's the default setting), this materialises as "English (Nigeria)", which feels bit weird because i'm pretty sure the intention for the keyboard isn't english (Pan-Nigerian alphabet was apparently created to allow all Nigerian languages to be typed with one keyboard according to Wikipedia), but it's a super useful keyboard to have! It's pretty much god mode keyboard, you've got every umlaut I've ever seen and even more I haven't on it (Nigeria is fucking amazing for that one). It's basically become my default keyboard because it's so versatile (and doesn't move letters around like my German keyboard does 😂 I don't accidentally click the wrong thing).
So yeah. The character is called a reversed or turned E, and it's used in the Pan-Nigerian alphabet, which manifests on Google Keyboard as "English (Nigeria)". If it's on any other keyboards I haven't found it, but it's a great keyboard, so it doesn't really matter.
To actually get the keyboard, it's a matter of finding out how to add languages on your keyboard. Mine has a globe icon on the side that when held allows me to switch and add languages (tapping it just cycles through the ones I have already). Otherwise, going to your keyboard settings through Settings on your phone will be the way to add another keyboard. There's definitely more accurate tutorials out there on how to add languages on your device, but in terms of which language to add, this post can be your baseline if anyone knows how to do a similar thing on PC or a device that uses a physical keyboard, please do tell in the notes and I'll add it!
Edit: this lovely user gave a way to do it on PC!

Nintendo finally revealed the Switch 2 in an official capacity, after everyone, their mom, grandma, brother, sister, cousin, father, aunts, grandfathers, and of course their their Uncles that Work at Nintendo TM did it for them. The trailer has such "ALRIGHT ALREADY GET OFF MY BACK" energy with what little it reveals, but there's still info we know that can be gleaned from the trailer and stuff other sources have said
youtube
So first off, I genuinely thought those controllers would be 3rd party, but they're official apparently. I love the accented colors, although I was kinda hoping they'd swap to white this go around. No biggie though.
Second, that looks like a new Mario Kart project. There's 24 starting lines, there's a slight redesign to DK, and the graphics appear higher res, so this is either the first official first party game quietly announced for the system, or a heavy update to 8.

Third, the joycons moving around seems to tease the potential pc mouse-like capabilities due to an optical sensor on the inner side of the joycons. Of course this is strictly a guess based on 3rd party info revealed, but it would potentially open doors for certain pc games or touch only DS/3ds/Mobile games to come to the system. Potentially, anyway. I'm more or less expecting it to be used for something like FF14.
The last bit is something that seems to be a correction on their part- they had previously said that Switch 2 would have backwards compatibility. Most, like me, assumed 100% because it's literally the Switch but stronger- Nintendo corrected by saying *certain* games may *not* be playable. Imo, this is probably a small number and most first party titles will transfer over, but I'm not an expert.

We can also see the two systems side by side here, showing clearer size differences and how the system will fit in hands. Personally, as someone with bigger hands, this feels like an upgrade.
The only other thing I think is worth noting is the top mounted C-port in addition to the bottom one. That probably makes hand held charging easier, but I'd imagine that may have some kind of purpose in the future. The extra button on the lower right controller still could be anything I guess.
The next Nintendo Direct will be in April, but there could potentially be other tid bits dropped between here and there. Last I saw, the system will probably go for about $400 American, so it might be time to squirrel away some change before it drops potentially around Christmas 2025.
Other thoughts:
The name Switch 2 in official capacity might sound a little plain, but I think they learned from the Wii U not to get cute with the title. If they had named it something like "SwitchAroo" or "Super Switch," people would probably assume it to just be a Switch pro. Likewise, a completely new name such as the "Nintendo Click" probably would betray the fact that it is essentially just a better Switch. Basically this indicates the clear goal in mind to developers and customers about what it is: a successor you can easily see with name alone.
Certain games coming to or on Switch already have built in support for higher res, so it seems like you can expect certain visual and/or performance upgrades when playing those. Paper Mario remake is probably more on the visual angle, and if older Pokemon dlc leaks are to go by, then SV would be the performance angle.
Speaking of, specs reveal this thing is about on par with a ps4 in power. I'm not a graphics snob, I just care about performance- that being said, a hand held console that's expected to be about as powerful as a system that ran Red Dead Redemption 2 or Horizons Zero Dawn while still probably selling for cheaper than competitors (as Nintendo usually does), that is not bad. Not bad at all. Let's just hope they've finally fixed long standing issues with joycon drift.
As far as launch titles... good question, but I'd expect MK9, Smash Bros- the basics that sell the system to casual players. But also some name 3rd party games you'd see run on the ps4 and Xbox One, potentially PS5 and Xbox S/X games- basically something higher on the graphics angle to really push what the Switch 2 is capable of. I could potentially see Red Dead Redemption 2 coming eventually, if not at launch. Otherwise, potentially Zelda Wii U port ports. That'd be neat.
Closing thoughts:
THE ONE PIECE IS REAAAAAL
*also I am not an official reporter, I just like Nintendo games.

HOO BOY I AM HAVING. A DAY.
so . last night after finishing the animation, literally like 2 hours later, my laptop shut off and would not reboot. would not even show the "i am plugged in" indicator light. switched outlets, nothing. figured maybe it overheated bc it used to do that, so i let it cool off, aaaand nothing. went to bed. woke up this morning, still dead.
turns out the motherboard is fried. it's way too expensive to replace, so... metallix is dead. thankfully the local pc repair guy is able to back everything up to my external drive, and in fact has done this before Last time i had a laptop with a suddenly-dead motherboard, but there's a high chance that i've lost some stuff... including all of my minecraft save data. all of my screenshots from the various servers ive been on, potentially all of the world downloads i had (i may have moved those to my external to free up space, i dont remember), but most importantly: the savefile i was using to record my series that i was planning to get back to once things were a bit less stressful irl and i had less projects.
(i also may have lost all of my davinci resolve projects. i dont know where that data is stored. that also stings, but if i have the artwork still-- which i should-- then i can redo them bc the wips were all in early sketch animatic stage.)
the good news: i am currently borrowing my mom's pc to be able to make this post, bc otherwise i've been on mobile all day and it is kind of killing me. better news: i have a backup laptop exactly for the purpose of "something has happened to my main one". less better news: that backup laptop got water damage a while ago and im only now getting it repaired. thankfully it can be repaired, and while its pricey its at least something i can cover.
im stressed out. today has been a bit of a mess between running back and forth between home and the pc guy, being super frazzled over money and what is and isnt worth trying to save, the terror of maybe not being able to save things, and praying that all of my art is recoverable (it should be).
so, uh, that's where i've been today.

Hello! 👋
If you have a moment, I was wondering how you made the toggle glow effect for your VRC Avatar plushies and how you made the toggle model switch for your stylized DCA Avatar?
I'm currently working on creating my own avatar and those types of features are something I'm heavily considering but don't know how to do as this is my first time creating an avatar 😅
Hi, not a problem! I'll try to explain best I can, this is a bit of a long read/post so full under.
The glow is called an emission in unity, you can find it on the VrChat mobile standard light shader and some custom shaders (custom shaders are pc only)
To set up an emission on the VrChat mobile standard light shader just click the emission box and it'll make the material glow. To make only certain parts glow you'll need to make a mask, to make the mask just edit the texture in an art program and make the parts you don't want to glow black and the parts you want to glow untouched. To apply the mask on the material just drag the mask texture into the box labeled color under the emission tick box. (if you're using poiyomi for pc as its one of the popular ones for pc, it has a website doc for what's what in the poiyomi shader and can help you set up emission)
To make it toggle back and forth you will need to make a toggle between two separate materials, one material with emission on and one with emission off. For a full explanation and better tutorial I would recommend watching Sipp's Avatar Box tutorial on toggles. The video shows prop toggles but its close to the same for making material toggles as well.
To make the material swap animation just drag and drop the material onto the model while recording, and to make the material swap animation back to the original material change the models material to the 2nd material before recording and then make the animation of the 2nd material back to the original while recording(be sure to make the animation on a duplicate model as explained in the video). After that just follow the rest of the video to build the toggle in unity.
As for how I made the Sun and Moon switch toggle, its both a material and blendshape toggle in one as they are the same model as having multiple models/meshs can bring down optimization. To make a simple toggle where I swap the model from Sun to Moon you'll follow the same material swap steps but add a blendshape to both animations, but if the hat is a separate model/mesh just toggle the hat model/mesh on in the Moon animation and off in the Sun animation.
I hope I explained this to where it makes sense, as I'm terrible at explaining things.
For more help or tutorials since its your first avatar I would highly recommend Sipp's Avatar Box on youtube that has a 20 video playlist on short, simple, and to the point tutorial videos on setting up avatars. Or other ways for tutorials/ask for help is to check the VrChat Ask Forums where people have better explained guides than me.
Good luck on making your avatar! :)

I've been thinking about this since I answered the ask about gifmaking a little while back, and I've been kind of unsettled about it since. Not because I don't like sharing my process, nothing could be further from the truth, but because I realized that that process isn't entirely accessible. So here I am again with an alternative way to make gifs that's infinitely easier, way more accessible, and just as valid as the other way. I wanna stress that. Anything you put time and effort into is valid and worthwhile. No time spent on doing something you enjoy is ever wasted, not least of all anything creative
That said, this method is considerably more limited. I made gifs this way for years before my brain was quite literally hijacked by an idea I could not get out of my head and I had to learn to do it the fancy way. I was also intensely annoyed at having to rely on my shitty internet to make gifs, and I probably would have made the switch at some point regardless just for that lol
I would also like to stress that this is not necessarily a tutorial any more than the other post was, it's simply a couple of resources and more or less how to use them. Like I said in the other post, never download and install anything to your device without doing your own due diligence first!
details under the cut
So first, you need to get the video. If you're on mobile, your device should have a screen recorder built in. Use that, and be sure to turn on Do Not Disturb so you don't accidentally capture any notifications! Once you've recorded your video, you can use your device's native editing ui to trim and crop the video and adjust color. If you want effects like slow motion, I like Splice on iOS. The big thing is that it doesn't watermark your videos, but it's also just a pretty good app overall for video editing. If you're willing to pay for it, it'll also allow you to make gifs right there in the app, but it's subscription based and the price is absolutely outrageous, so I don't recommend doing that when you could just use a free online converter
Which brings me to the next step: ezgif. You probably know this one, most everyone does, I think, but if you don't, here's the basic gist of it. Select Video to Gif and upload your video there. Be sure to trim it down to seven seconds or less, or else you'll never be able to get it down below 10mb. On the next page, change the size of the gif to 540xAUTO (for Tumblr), then change the frame rate to 20 or 25. More frames means a smoother gif, but it also means a bigger gif, so play around with it to see how the frame rate affects your gif. I don't think there's really a huge difference between 20 and 25, so 20 should be sufficient. If your gif is still too big, you can select optimize and try to compress it a little. The lowest compression level is 5, so start there and go up by fives until you're satisfied. If you get the gif below 10mb and it looks bad, then you should go back and trim your video length down further and try again. After that, simply save the gif to your device and upload it wherever!
PC is more or less the same, you just need to get a third party screen recorder. You can actually use ffmpeg to screen record if you'd like (I don't have the command line for that, however, and at that point, you should just go ahead and use yt-dlp instead to get a high quality video). If the command prompt is too much, you can just use a screen recorder app instead. I like 2-Click Screen Recorder. Again, you can actually use ffmpeg on that video to create frames and then upload those to ezgif, but if you'd still rather go from video to gif, then use CapCut or a similar video editing software to trim down your video to seven seconds or less. From there, the process with ezgif is exactly the same as it is on mobile
And there you have it! Easy mobile gifs! While I do really encourage you to try the "fancy" method of making gifs, this is still a great alternative, and you can make some pretty good gifs this way. Here are some of mine I made this way before I switched:

6. Storyteller
Release: March 2023, PC/Switch Beaten: Feb 23rd (Main Story), Feb 24th (100%), iOS (Netflix) Playtime: 3h 13m (Main Story), 5h 19m (100%)
Worth noting that the playtime here accounts for the base game and its major content update (which extended the base game from like 1 hr to 3 hrs and added post-game stuff).
Pretty clever little puzzle game that I enjoyed. The art and overall presentation were the highlights for me, but I also was very impressed by how many possible variations they accounted for in the actual gameplay experience. With very few exceptions, it felt like there was always a coherent logic to the game's systems, and that said systems allowed for and rewarded a really substantial amount of experimentation (even beyond what is requested of you).
UI-wise, the navigation between levels could have been more seamless. The game sacrifices function in favor of presentation in the sense that every level is a page in a book that needs to be manually flipped to, with very limited bookmarks to jump between sections (the bookmarks basically lead to the save selection, options, levels, end game page, and post-game achievements). This made returning to previous levels relatively obnoxious, and the post-game asks you to do that a lot.
Still. Fun game. Not too much more to say about it. If you have a Netflix subscription and are willing to put up with finding their horrible mobile games library (a different can of worms), it's worth playing through.

G-MODE Archives+ Shin Megami Tensei: 20XX announced for Switch, PC - Gematsu
G-MODE will release ATLUS-developed RPG Shin Megami Tensei: 20XX as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced. The Switch version will launch on April 24, followed by PC on May 8.
Shin Megami Tensei: 20XX is an RPG that originally launched for feature phones on August 26, 2004 in Japan.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
A boy thirsting for power, and a girl who has lost her memory. In the twisted world of Valhalla, what destiny awaits them?
Series Overview
This game is a mobile game app that was exclusively released for Japanese flip phones. It inherits popular game systems from the Shin Megami Tensei series, such as a system that allows you to communicate with demons and recruit them as allies, a system where you can fuse allied demons together to create more powerful ones, and a system where the protagonist’s alignment shifts between LAW” and “CHAOS” based on his actions.
Story
Set in the near-future city of TOKYO Millennium, built after the Great Destruction, the game follows a boy living in the slums of “Valhalla,” a residential area of the city. One day, after being spotted by the Temple Knights during a fight, the boy is pursued. He then meets a mysterious man through a friend who offers to help him grow stronger, on the condition that the boy defeats the ruler of Valhalla, who controls the people. In exchange, the boy receives a “COMP.” To train, the boy descends into the old underground city, where demons roam, and encounters a mysterious girl who has lost her memory. What will the fate of these two characters be as their story unfolds?
Key Features
The game not only features demon fusion (“Demon x Demon”) but also allows players to fuse demons with swords to create powerful weapons.
By using specific items for “Sword Fusion,” players can fuse demons with swords (“Demon x Sword”) or even fuse swords with other swords (“Sword x Sword”). The powerful swords created through this process can be equipped by the protagonist to enhance their strength.
As players navigate crucial events throughout the story, each decision they make will dramatically shape the course of the narrative, ultimately determining the fate that awaits them at the end.

What is your advice for making animatics? I'm trying to start a series but I'm not sure what apps and stuff to use cuz most of them are for iOS - also your art is awesome!!
AHWHAH THANK YOUU!!!! im glad you like my silly stuff :] !! and also my apologies for getting around to this so very late
as for actual advice im unsure how much i can actually help since im far from professional and i dont have much experience regarding animatics but!! ill try :]
personally i use medibang paint pro+fireaplaca (these two softwares are compatible, they use the same .mdp file format so i usually switch between them if one has a function the other doesnt), mspaint and capcut
i use mspaint for the messy stage of storyboarding but i sometimes just use paper and a pencil for this purpose, nothing fancy really! this one is really just for the ideas
firealpaca for detailed storyboards (the mspaint ones are very messy, barely comprehensible for people who arent me but are perfect to get down the overall composition or scene im going for, the firealpaca ones are still sketches but much better looking and detailed and are actually comprehensible to the human mind) and then i make the actual, finished frames in medibang (if im making an animatic that needs rendered+colored frames, though lately ive been doing everything with firealpaca, switching between programs can be exhausting. plus i had to switch laptops a couple days ago and medibang doesnt work on this one that well)
if im not making an animatic with fully rendered+colored frames, then ill just clean up the sketches in firealpaca and proceed from there
for the putting it together part, i export every frame as a png, usually putting them into a folder like "[name of media]_[name of project]" (eg.: SAYER_motherboard)
also i name the frames in a much simpler fashion, e.g.: ep54_1, ep54_2 and so on
then i open a new project in capcut, import audio and frames and then ill just start adjusting things, sync-ing the frames to the sound, applying transitions and effects when needed
when im done i export it on the lowest possible quality because my laptop would explode otherwise (at least the old one would have /j) and also to try and reduce the file size, but do as you see fit!
also if you dont have a laptop or a pc, you can easily substitute the programs like this:
cleaner storyboards - flipaclip finished frames - ibispaint or even the mobile version of medibang (though i dont have much experience with the mobile version, ibis paint definitely does the job though and it might even be simpler to use, minus the ads)
capcut is available on mobile too (as far as im aware)!
#ghost once said#also you need an account for capcut which is . annoying but if you have tiktok already then you can connect the two i believe?#but idk</3 i dont have tiktok so i just used my secondary email
