So do you ever think about Jon embracing being non human and becoming a worse but much much happier version of himself or are you normal

I am thinking about Jonathan Sims having a fraying connection with humanity All Of The Time. Jon who is drawn to the Eye not just because he needs to know but because being an Avatar just feels Right. Jon who has always struggled to connect with the people around him. Jon who feels he was never human in some fundamental way to begin with, always reaching for all the things humans are supposed to be that he has never been. Jon eternally caught between the knowledge that if he ever stops trying he can only hurt the people around him but if he never stops trying he will always be crushed under the weight of his own stifling humanity. Jon shedding his false skin and feeling nothing but relief even though he knows he is going to hurt people now, and more than ever before, and he is not ever going to stop because the chains are gone and they can’t be put back. This is because I am extremely normal and have no problems at all.

(I think there’d probably be some good Jon/Jonah parallels here if we had ever gotten to see Jonah as he was just starting out. Like genuinely do you see the Vision?)

(I do believe this post is like. Maybe the most articulate I have ever been on the subject. Do you fucking know how much “a tragic loss of life, etc. etc.” fucking Haunts me? I don’t have the words to explain it now and I don’t think I did before either but it changed my brain chemistry please I don’t know what to say but I desperately need to say it.)

glad you like it! several ppl have said they’re interested in my idea so i think i am gonna do a whole rewrite for my canon and develop it more. i think the idea’s fun and would ultimately give the raiders a lil more…nuance(?) if the park was already theirs from the start and we focused more on how they individually operate and their own interpersonal dynamics.

i think basic premise of them being on shaky terms makes sense if the set-up is that these gangs (as we know them now) have been in such close proximity for literal decades. especially if colter’s been the overboss for several years atp and was generally unliked. probably got the position based on physical prowess, with the gauntlet being something they’ve been doing for a long time. the idea of having an overboss at all probably stemmed in some way from there being ppl like park managers who were trying to keep some semblance of peace at the start, and the position has just kinda stuck through the generations, though eventually morphing into a position decided through the gauntlet. one of those things they’ve just been doing and didn’t really have a reason to stop, but colter was abusing his power and they all wanted him gone—cue gage setting colter up to be killed. however with bunny refusing the position and leaving nuka world right afterwards, a power vacuum is created while gage is kinda forced to be an interim boss and there’s a lot of unrest by the time arisbeth shows up (exacerbated by the gunners coming in and trying to take over, but that’s resolved within act one and the core of the story is on the gangs themselves).

What would you grow if you had a greenhouse?

So right now I'm already attempting a bunch of things that would grow best in a greenhouse but might work outside: chillies, tomatoes, cucumber and Japanese indigo. If I had a greenhouse I'd go even harder with those, and I'd choose varieties based on other things than hardiness.

I'd also like to grow butter beans that I think might need a greenhouse over here (considering building a mini one but the trouble is that most greenhouse plants I'd want to grow are tall!) and I keep making eyes at the eggplant seeds in the store and thinking one day!!

Edit: never miiiind there are butter beans that would work in my zone (and given they're from the Andes, of course they would be able to take some cold) it's just bloody impossible to find information online these days and the first place (well known garden blog) I found something that seemed legit said I had to have a greenhouse.

So I'm a little confused about butter beans vs lima beans (I think they're the same thing but the combination of several English names, several Swedish names and the fact that varieties can be very different despite being the same species makes me hesitate) BUT I don't have space for them at the moment AND the seeds I found that would work are out of stock so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I’m happy that misadventures smp ai’s were confirmed to have their own custom model and don’t steal other people’s works, the series still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Firstly, there was no clearness or openness about the ai, there’s npcs here and no one said they were ai’s until the players were ripped a new one by fans.

Secondly, the ai’s are still sending players onto missions and quests that don’t exist. That wasn’t fun with pirates smp, it’s not fun here.

And thirdly, are npcs really needed? If you can hire artists to build your world or draw you art, then why can’t you hire writers to do the same? Writers in this community need more respect, and hiring them to write a few lines for quest giving npcs is a lot better than ai fucking the players over.

Overall, I am pleased that it’s better then stealing people’s writing off of the internet, but if I as an artist could be commissioned for work then so should my writer friends.

Do what you want, watch what you want, but misadventures smp left a sour taste in my mouth and unless they overhaul the ai’s with actual writers, I can’t watch the series.

I need to stand in solidarity with writers.

unpopular opinion: i think ralsei is asriel's OC

not in the one-on-one direct projection, obviously, but when people think ralsei is kris's old sona, i kinda believe that but for asriel. although not strictly as a sona. as in, asriel created ralsei. he is an OC asriel made on his computer. ralsei was probably not intended as a self-projection, but rather inherited bleedovers by merit of being created by asriel. in my mind this is more like how kris possesses key similarities with toby (pianist hindered from passion by fate, dog-coded person, etc.) but is ultimately not a self-insert.

ralsei likes his face the most (models it after asriel, his creator), is only cognizant of things visible from the POV of asriel's desktop. queen (who played on one of the holiday's sisters side in their childhood games) doesn't recognize ralsei, but king (who played on kris's side) and tenna (who was 'at the back') do. IMO after the original prophecy heroes (dess et al) encountered a roadblock, they tried to go around it instead of fulfilling its tragic end. one of these attempts (i think. if i'm not being distracted by a red herring instead rn lmao) was drawing a dragon from the how to draw dragons book in an attempt to conjure a dragon darkner to slay instead of killing an actual lightner. ultimately this attempt did not go to plan (it either failed and ended with dess becoming the knight, or dess tried to prevent a bigger catastrophe by sacrificing herself to be the knight, homura-style), but both dess and asriel took the barebones of the plan to heart.

on dess's part, she tried to introduce sapience to darkners in the hopes of getting them to her side. she gave the secret bosses a taste of lightner-based freedom and told them that this was what they should aspire to. she gave instructions and promises to the main bosses.

on asriel's part, he made ralsei. he gave ralsei omniscient knowledge of the prophecy and made him a 'prince of the dark' in his stead, one who, while determined to fulfil the prophecy, will also be adamant in remaining a pacifist. obviously this leads to ralsei inheriting a lot of asriel's (UT pre-flowey) neuroses via bleedover, but this is his goal. enacting asriel's goal, ralsei persuades kris to recruit enemies instead of hurting them, in hopes that this will circumvent the prophecy, all the while stewing in the impending doom of, what if it's unchangeable anyway, what if the prophecy is immutable, which is a bleedover from asriel's anxiety.

these opposing viewpoints made "dess's side" and "asriel's side" at odds with each other, even though they share the same goal. deuteragonist kris is stuck inbetween as everyone's child of divorce.
