I hate that Tai cheated on Simone, mainly because of when she did, their status at the time and how Simone was.

Like yeah sure, they were mainly separated by that time and would've inevitably be going through a divorce since Tai did not get help, but my main issue is the fact that she is cheating on Simone while she's in a coma. That Tai caused!

Like, am I shocked? No, I knew it was gonna happen (both through spoilers, and it was obvious in the text). Am I happy? No! Simone and Sammy deserve better. Was their make out well done, and the actresses (Tawny and Lauren) also have a lot of chemistry? Yes. Do the actresses Tawny and Rukiya also have chemistry? Yes, but in a different way.

she really died alone. You all were horrible with her this season and she literally was practicing how to apologize in front of a mirror with tears in her eyes and trembling lips.

she took care of others all the time and no one taked care of her; she was out of the psychiatric and one week later she’s dead.

Tai calling van her wife to everyone who will listen consistently takes me out bc like girl you very publicly have an actual whole wife and son you are legally a family with. Like, they appeared in your political campaign. Your wikipedia page says you’re married to simone abara right above the section about how you impeached yourself before taking office. while yellowjackets is one of my favorite shows, I have to admit that I'm disappointed with how taissa's storyline was handled — especially in the adult timeline.

she starts off as a prominent politician, separating herself from the other yellowjackets by being a public figure. her son is the first link we have to other tai, and the actions that other tai takes feel a lot more sinister in nature compared to how watered down she's seemed in following seasons.

she starts off as, objectively speaking, one of — if not the most compelling character of the show.

and in s2 and even more so in s3, she seems to me more of a filler character than a main, at least compared to the rest of the adult yellowjackets (save for van, whose storyline fuses with taissa's.)

despite winning the election, she quits her job and seemingly has no more professional aspirations — drawing that storyline to a conclusion despite it being a major part of her character in season 1. she's been married to simone for 15 years, and even as we get real taissa back, her wife isn't even mentioned. sammy is set up as an intriguing character in season 1, a boy that may have a connection to the supernatural to a boy who can tell the difference between his mother and her malevolent other self — only to be near fully axed in the show. the no-eyed man is one of the most compelling themes in the show, yet we don't even see him in the second half of season 3.

season 2 and 3 strip her of her political ambition, her family and eventually even the cryptid figure that's been haunting her — yet other adult survivors still kicking, to whatever extent, do have their own storylines.

she's gone from "I NEED to know more about this character" to "oh, she's there." I enjoyed her and van in the adult timeline, but I'm sure there must have been a way to execute that storyline without alleviating 80% of her previous storylines.

all-in-all, I really do feel like her character has been done a disservice, and I honestly really hope that finale scene sets her up to be a much more prominent and leading figure in season 4.

simone got the disposable black girlfriend (wife) treatment in order to introduce adult van into the show, sammy's wilderness connection and simone freaking out and taking him away to protect him plotline was given to callie and jeff, lottie the only indigenous character talks to trees, gets pummeled by shauna and killed in the stupidest way possible by callie, taissa goes from battling between her love for her family and her political career while trying to keep her past hidden to being nothing more than van's lacky and only caring about "which tai knows best for van", mari and especially akilah were made to be more prominent characters in s2 only for melissa to be randomly propped up as the 8th survivor, mari being killed, hung naked and shauna wearing her hair as a fucking trophy... at what point do yall admit this show is literally just racist

i’m trauma bonded to yellowjackets because after i watched the first two episodes of the series, i got really sick with a fever so high that i was hallucinating the characters and the hallucinations were so real that i thought i was stranded out in the wilderness with them
